Hiya,
How old is the applicant? Is he/she claiming to be working? If yes, just have some reasonable amount to show. Although since you have a sponsor it might not really matter. But if the applicant is advanced in age, just show responsibility. Hope this helps a bit?
bellakay:
Does an applicant needs to have funds in his account? He has a sponsor who is covering the full expenses.

Hiya,
1. To find out eligible PGWP schools pls follow this link:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/institutions.html

2. It depends on the school. Usually your Ist session fees will be written in your LOA and the deposit you're expected to pay will be stipulated in the LOA. You are given LOA immediately you're offered admission not after you've paid. LOA contains info about your admission, program duration and fees.

3. Yes, if you study for 1year in a DLI school, you're only going to get a year PGWP. 2 years course gives you 3 yrs PGWP.

4. Please, send an email to the school, they will be eager to respond to your enquiries.

5. Before you determine which school or province you want, you need to put in a lot of hard work in terms of research. Avoid getting info from people, google is your friend o. Research!!!

I hope these few answers of mine can help you a lil bit? I wish you goodluck!

hardeyeanc:
Good Morning boss,
Please I need to ask some questions about this Niagara college, I don't know if u or any other guru in the house can be of help. I'm getting confused here.

1. Does Niagara college offer PGWP?

2. Is it a must u pay all the first semester tuition fee? If NO how much is their tuition deposit for you to get LOA?

3. I intend study IBM which is related to my degree because I studied entrepreneurship and business mgt but IBM is a year course and from what I've been reading so far, it's better one go for 2 years program in other to get 3yrs PGWP.

4. Does the college accept payment in installments for international students? .

5. I got an info dt New Brunswick Community College is cheap and one can easily get a PR, plus their tuition deposit is just 500 CAD, what's you guys take on this compare to all Niagara college?

Let me stop here for now, make I no ask too much question but I still have many questions.

CC: all gurus in the house...it will definitely be a success story for us all

Hahahahahahahahah sorry I bursted out loud when I read " my greatest fear is visa rejection" we all dread that shi* a lot chai!
You can actually DIY the visa process yourself. It's just for you to have time to read people's experiences and follow this thread back to back to learn. Good thing is, you have ample time to really learn. Good luck!
wandeay:
Good Morning House,

I have gone through this thread extensively and read many experiences. I can see that Canada route is not as easy as I thought, cos I have experience with processing UK for people.

In my case, I am 29, got admission to Computer Programming (Jan 2024) at Niagara College, Toronto. I have a Bachelor in Agriculture, but skills in Web and Software Dev, and I want to totally switch to tech while also achieving Japa goals.

Now, I am expected to make tuition for 1st semester of roughly 8k CAD which is not a problem. The issue is I want to take the 'normal 9ja POF' of about 9m (self-sponsored) for 2 - 3 months, to stand for upkeep and tuition balance. I plan to hustle for more money for tuition balance, house rent and travel ticket while I make my application waiting for an approval.

My greatest fear is visa rejection, so I want the process to be smooth from my end.

Can I apply for visa myself or through an agent?

I need all the advice available.

Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CanadaQueen: 10:58pm On May 01, 2023
Pls try and go for 2 years course. It will give you 3years PGWP on your way to PR. Except you don't wanna stay back. Don't waste time and resources, 8 mths is too short and won't or might not lead you to PR except that's not ur goal. That 9k is about the same deposit for a 2 yrs course.
Note, 1year course will only give you 1 year PGWP. So, 2 years is better.
Heritagebib:
I just got LOA from fanshawe college but it states that my program starts from January -August(just 8months).
1. Is there possibility of VO giving visa to my husband and children to follow me for 8months program??

2. The letter states that I pay my first semester fee 9,000+ before 25th of may through flywire.
I read that flywire rate is high, pls how do I go about it.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CanadaQueen: 10:06pm On May 01, 2023
Exactly it's TMI. I told him/her you don't need to list all the refusals, just mention maybe the last one so as not to call too much attention on yourself. VO is always looking for loopholes to deny you. Of cos we all know they have access to the info so its not as if you lied. But anyway, what do I know?
itsyourboya:
Sequel to this, I have told him not to worry but he seem determined to "convince" a VO that doesn't need more information about the refusals. I also was denied US visit and study visas about four times but just stated I have been denied US visa and that was all.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CanadaQueen: 9:52pm On May 01, 2023
Hi Ammykorr,
I'll try to answer you according to my lil knowledge.
Firstly, I don't think your Hubby's last visa would have an impact on your application. In fact, if stated in your SOP( that your hubby cldn't leave because he didn't wanna leave you guys behind),that reason MIGHT even help to facilitate your visas.
According to IRCC each application is treated independently/individually.

Secondly, IF you can provide the 2 yrs POF for the required fees for each of you all well and good but if not 1 year is still OK.
I stand to be corrected. Pls let other gurus make an input.

In my own case I do business but its informal although deposits enters my acct Frm customers. And I even stated it in my SOP DT I frequently travel BTW Nig and Benin Rep cos I do business but still got a refusal based on no ties. I don't have any assets as it is right now. Someone suggested I shld add affidavit of return when I'm reapplying. Although I want to Ist rqst for my gcms notes
I'm going for a college Diploma in Social service.

dtrixna01:
First off, what degree are you going for ? Is it masters or a college degree? Do you have business ? Do you have lands ? I could help you by pass this cause most of my siblings are out too with just one who’s is married and I’m also single with no kids. Difference is that I’m 27. You need to write a strong SOP.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CanadaQueen: 6:41am On May 01, 2023
It is still valid. Although some banks have an option of E- signed SOA. I paid a token of 20 naira to get an e-signed SOA from Access bank. Check your bank app very well maybe they also have that option but even if they don't have no problem. I've used unsigned digital copies at many embassies before and it has never been an issue. Good luck

Accessed:
Please, will a digital copy Statement of Account from the App contain the bank's stamps? Because i am not sure IRCC will look at it if its not stamped.

Ordinarily, other banks will just generate an MBS code for you which you will send in your application, but I am not sure Union Bank has that facility. That is my dilemma.

Please has anyone used Union Bank SOA as POF before? How did you guys do it??

All the statement of accounts used in my application were digital copies (not stamped)
I used 7 different bank statements for my application and only one was stamped (fidelity bank) and it didn't even belong to my sponsor.
I couldn't get MBS because of the banking wahala.
As far as your digital bank statement does not have any alterations I don't see why IRCC would not look at it[/quote]

I'm not saying you killed person, neither am I saying you shldnt declare. no vex sir/ma. Follow your mind.
babineli:
I’m sorry but if I don’t expose myself, how did they find out about people who didn’t declare and they figure out that they’ve been refuse. I believe they have access to this information, whether you expose or not, they will know. Telling them how many times I applied and got refused isn’t a crime nah. I no kill person nah refuse Dey refuse me, if they dig dipper than that, they won’t see anything to hold against me, it was just a normal refusal I was just scared if the year I disclosed could raIsed eyebrows as misinformation as I wasn’t genuinely sure and like my broda said provided I originally declare no problem. All the same I leave everything to God.

Thank you @bullstriker. I currently lecture in 2 Universities although both are contract jobs. But I got employment letters and recommendation/introduction letters from both. One stated that my study in Canada will help get promotion on my return, the second stated that I am always welcome back to work with them.
Unfortunately, I don't have any asset as I have sold off my car few years back. I also don't belong to any social forum. As for religious group, I am not that consistent in my new place of worship here.
My intended program is Social Service Worker and I currently work with youths. I even got a letter from my previous workplace where I used to work with children(toddlers and infants).
I am planning to reapply but I will add an affidavit of return to this new application. But I really don't know what else I can input.
Pls I need all the help I can receive. I have had refusals frm other embassies before but this one really shattered me and made me sick. Until this time, I never knew one could become sick because they are sad.
bullstriker:
Cheer up; I believe you have more home ties than you think.

You can use your job as a tie if you demonstrate the intention to return to the job. This can be effectively shown by having your employer grant you a leave of absence. Suppose you are self-employed, provide business registration documents, invoices, receipts and correspondence with suppliers and customers. In addition, discuss your plans and prospects extensively. Is your occupation in demand? How can the skillset help with your ambition in Nigeria?

Financial buoyancy is a home tie. Document your assets, if any, and prepare an excellent financial table of your assets supported by a valuation report. Better still, get a net worth report from a Chartered Accountant.

The level of your involvement in the society can be used as a tie. So, if you belong to any social or religious group, get a letter from them stating you are an active member and role.

Is your intended program related to your present occupation? If not, can you establish the program's relevance to your current and future career path? The Vo is unconvinced with your purpose of visit, so you have to show how the proposed program fits your ambition.

Vo makes decisions based on how they interpret what you present to them, so the onus is on you to write a convincing SoP. Most importantly, don’t forget to order a gcms note so that you identify and address specific concerns noted by the VO.

All the best.

Please how much is the affidavit of return and can you help with the contact where you did yours pls?
tenderjunkie:
I included it in mine.
I have seen people who didn't include it and got PPR.

It's quite cheap to do so it doesn't hurt to include it

Visa approval is not guaranteed by good sch or not. I stand to be corrected. Also, make sure the school has a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) number. I'll advice he goes for 2 years program if it's a Diploma in a college so he can get a 3 years post graduate work permit(PGWP) after the program.
Daodudavid:
Greeting house, I am currently in the United States but I am trying to get admission for my younger brother into a school in canada, for a starter like me, who can help with list of good schools that he can apply with, that will grant him visa approval ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CanadaQueen: 9:56pm On Apr 30, 2023
Do you really think you need this TMI? Won't this call so much attention to your background? I was also refused UK visiting visa many times even after I have visited the UK in the past. But what I did is that, I only mentioned the recent refusals Frm diff embassies including the UK. I don't think you need to be exposing that you've been refused multiple times from the UK.
Well, that's my thoughts sha.
kobobay:
I have done that before. I do not think there is a problem with it.

Hi guys, pls I need experts advice. Right now I'm so sad and down casted. I submitted my study permit application on March 25th 2023 and got refusal on Apr 26th 2023.
I'm 40+ old lady, single with no child. I live in Benin Rep. I'm a Nigerian and so I applied in Nig. Reason for refusal was that I don't have enough family ties to show I'll return. All my siblings are in different countries abroad even my mum recently traveled but I stated that she's in Nig. because even at the time of applying she was still here. Pls what can I do differently? I can't think straight right now. I feel so let down. I have many past refusals frm diff country embassies even though I've been to the UK before. Although I cldn't state my UK trip because it was past 10 yrs travel history required and also cos even UK kept refusing me since. But I make sure each time I come to Nig frm Benin Rep I stamp my passport and I've made numerous trips even within the last yr. So pls how else can I prove home ties asides my showing only my mum living in Nig?

Hi everyone,
Thanks for this platform. Please I want to ask can I skip police clearance? I live in Benin Republic but I will submit application in Nigeria for my study permit. I read somewhere that police clearance is not really necessary. Also, I once saw on IRCC page that Benin Republic police clearance can only be gotten by their citizens. Although, I'm aware that noncitizens can now get it but because of cash constraints I'm thinking I can hide under what I read on IRCC page. But pls has anyone submitted application without police clearance and got their study permit?

Secondly, can I be added to Seneca College WhatsApp group please?
Thanks y'all as I await your kind responses
