Operatives of the Police force have arrested a sales girl with Shoprite stores, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mariam Mufutau and has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N553, 956, 000 she realized from sales just one month after she secured employment.
The management of Shoprite Stores had reported a case of theft to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ilasan Division, Lekki, Eti-Osa, SP Oyinye Onwuamaegbu and that they suspected their sales girl to have stolen their N535, 956, 000 she realized from sales just one month after she was employed.

Following the report, Onwuamaegbu ordered Inspector Orukotan Lonikola to arrest the accused. During investigation, the accused could not give account of the missing money.
Mufutau was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos on a two count charge of felony to wit. stealing.
Police prosecutor, Esther Adesulu informed the court in charge No: J/38/2017 that the accused committed the alleged offence between 1 April and 31 May, 2017 at Shoprite Stores, Eti-Osa during working hours.
Adesulu told the court that the accused betrayed the trust reposed in her as a sales girl by her employer and stole the sum of N535, 956,000 she realized from sales instead of remitting the money into her employer’s account.
She said the management at Shoprite Stores uncovered the fraud when they audited the account.

A Statement by the spokesman to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a “mistake”.

A middle- aged man has reportedly set himself ablaze over an allegation of his wife infidelity at Owharen Street of Ovwian in Udu Council Area of Delta State. The incident occurred on Friday inside the apartment of the victim.



Sources said the incident, however, led to serious anxiety among residents of the area as the inferno spread to other apartments as properties worth millions of naira were said to have been destroyed in the process.


A resident of the area hinted that the victim had in the weeks past threatened to kill himself after his wife was reportedly caught pants down with one his male messengers in the area.

A Zimbabwean domestic worker from Gweru has been arrested for allegedly killing and subsequently burning the body of his 68-year-old employer after she turned down his love proposal.

Emmanuel Sibanda appeared before Gweru magistrate Mr Musaiona Shortgame, on Monday, facing a charge of murder. He was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to July 7 for confirmation of his warned and cautioned statement.

Prosecuting, Mr Daniel Tapfuma, told the court that on June 21, Sibanda had a misunderstanding with his employer Mrs Jerina Chipato after she turned down his love proposal.
“Sibanda went on to attack the now deceased by striking her once on her head with a dry log and she fell on the ground unconscious. The accused went on to drag the deceased into her kitchen hut and set alight the thatched roof,” he said.

The woman was burnt to death. Mr Tapfuma said Sibanda then called out for help claiming that Mrs Chipato had accidentally been burnt to death in her kitchen hut.
