Properties / Re: Land Wanted In Lekki/ajah Area Or Omole/magodo Area, Budget N10m-urgent by Cantaloop: 9:39pm On Aug 15, 2010
@baba eko

Sorry i dont do private emails online but i can tell you how lawyer assisted me. I was about to buy a land in Igbogbo some time back and the owners were pushing me to pay. I paid for the survey plan N80,000 first and paid part payment to pay the balance when the survey plan was through and they told me it will take 2 months before the survey plan would be ready.

Then i stumbled upon lawyers thread on Nairaland to 'search and investigate before you buy a property'. Because i used to shuttle in and out of the country i didnt have time to do that and i got scared when i read the advise from lawyer. I called him and told me about the situation of things. He linked me up with  a  surveyor in Alausa free of charge and told me to take him to the land to check whether it was free from acquistion and i was told the land is under goverment acquistion.

Upon investigation, lawyer also found out that the people pretending to own the land where not the true owners again. I almost ran mad but he helped me stop the payment for the full price. He was only able to help me collect part of the survey plans after exposing the fake surveyor and i gave up acquiring lands in Lagos after that episode.

Later i saw some adverts about a land in Okun Mopo beach and this time i didnt fail to contact lawyer to do the search from begining to end and handle the transaction. Till date no wahala from the land owners and i have a cordial relationship with them. All the lands shown to me by the Omoniles in Okun Mopo were under government acquistion but lawyer told me not to buy them despite the cheap prices they were offering it. The Omoniles where so desperate to sell it for N400,000 per plot and was offering me an Acre for N1.5million in a prime place and advised i should keep it and sell it at a higher price in future but Lawyer made sure i didnt go near it with a 10 foot pole because he had done his investigation to know its a bad land.

He made sure it was the King of the Mopo town that signed my deed so that no problem will come and all the receipts and documents intact. Thats why i am advising that you should use lawyer to make sure you avoid what i went through at first in Ikorodu with those land thieves parading and masquerading as land owners.

Why dont you contact lawyer to help you out? He assisted me with mine a while back. Searching for lands could be a very torturous thing in Lekki/Ajah
Romance / Re: Part 2 :My Boyfriend Is An Atheist. I Love Him But My Family& Friends Hate Him by Cantaloop: 8:05pm On May 07, 2010
Well thats funny David because reading through the previous posts you were the main antagonist against Sia being with her ex boyfriend because he was an atheist and i read where he complained bitterly about the way you and some guys accused him without giving him the chance to explain himself or know who he was. All this while Labake wasnt in the picture. So if you havent contributed to the downfall of her relationship with all those remarks, i dont think Labake will remotely be close to her ex talkless of being his new lover. Besides how come everyone ignores the good things the ex did and focus strictly on his atheism? Does being an atheist mean he is a demon and a bad boyfriend? Does it mean xtian boyfriends are the best only because i can name instances personally where i have been at the recieving end of xtian/born again boyfriends who were very irresponsible and hopelessly useless to say the least. In my own opinion i think the poor fella needs to be given a break and people should stop being bigots

Just read the whole story from the beginning and am at cross roads here. Why is nobody seeing the role Nairaland played to destroy Sia fuller's relationship. I was in shock to see christians condemn a person almost to death when he didnt do anything wrong apart from that he was an athiest in principle but he treated her like a queen more than most xtian brothers would do. His reaction was really deep felt and i could feel his pains coming to terms with how he was throughly abused by some christians here. Am sure if they had guns, they could kill him because he is not a xtian. Why would Sia now bring her problems to Nairaland knowing fully well that she is not going to get any intelligent answer and when labake advised her, she should have taken heed to her advise but now she has lost her family, lost her fiancee, lost her friend all because she exposed her private life to Nairaland. I dont blame Labake one bit for reporting her but labake should have been a forgiving type to allow her wallowin her mistake and learn from it. Maybe Labake had eyes on Funaya all the while and Sia gave her enough reasons and the opening to step in.

The moral of the story is for us to keep our relationship issues to ourselves and not expose it to online forums because it could lead to the destruction of a perfectly good relationship.

Meanwhile where are all the christian brothers that were bashing the guy and encouraging Sia to leave him because he was a devil?? grin You see life and human beings? They destroyed a perfectly good relationship and when the problems came, they left Sia all alone to face the music and they cant lift a finger to help. Labake is truely the beneficiary of this story and kudos to her for being smart! I dont buy the idea that Funaya might leave Labake at the end because he sounds like a decent guy and only got upset when Sia allowed her relationship to be taken public and he probably got more upset reading all the insults hurled at him. If Labake learns to understand him, they could be happy together.

just my 2pence sha o!!!

Properties / Re: Why I'm Stopping The Free Property Search For Nairalanders! Life Lessons Learned by Cantaloop: 9:42pm On Mar 28, 2010
Lawyer i hope you still remember me in respect of the search you did for me in Igbogbo Ikorodu which i almost poured my life savings into that land until you helped save me from wahala Of Government acquistion and you did it for me without demanding for a cent before you assisted me in getting a land in Okun Mopo Am sure you remember me now grin God will continue to bless and reward you on my behalf and for every person that wishes you evil and tries to cheat you, 10 other people you have helped will still be praying for you to succeed.

Do not give up and continue to help people in need. Most of us abroad to be honest without you knowing, rely on you 100% on matters relating to property and your help, info and kindness is what benefit from especially in a society that is so difficult to gain the slightest of info without paying through your nose. I know how you sacrificed and labored with me jumping from one end to another and what attracted me to you was your patience and kindness and am glad i am one of those that benefitted from your fountain of good will and i can imagine if you have taken this decision earlier i won't be happy today singing your praises and thanking God you assisted me wonderfully. Most of these people abroad calling you to cheat you and send you on errands without thinking of compensating you are the real 419 Nigerians spoiling Nigeria's name over here. They are mostly these jobless small boys and girls who dont have anything better to do and want to reap where they did not sow to punish you. Be more vigilante and scrutinize them more.

Alot of Nigerians work very very hard over here and money is hard to come by and when we decide to invest it in properties In Nigeria, you should know that we would love to safe guard our interests and money and would want someone knowledgeable, trustworthy and safe to deal with and i have no problem endorsing you because you have been tried and trusted by me but be also weary about others too abroad that just want to use you to gather information and turn you to their messenger because they have read about how kind and caring you are in helping people buy good landed properties. Listen to the good counsel of other posters here and keep up the good work. Do not despair, God is your strenght and light and your good name and deeds will not go unnoticed by people who really appreciate you and need your services.
Properties / Re: Okun Mopo:Another Nairaland Lekki BeachView Hidden Treasure by Cantaloop: 10:51pm On Nov 10, 2009
I have just seen the Okun Mopo lands and Met Lawyer and it is only fair i tell the whole world what is saw in an unbiased way and my perception of lawyer

I have been a silent member of Nairaland for a long time and i only view it to read the latest news and comments emanating from Nigeria through Nairaland and i have been on Lawyer's neck for a while in respect of getting a plot in Ikorodu that is free from omonile and government problems but when i saw his advert on Okun Ajah months back i decided to come and see it my self. I stay in Helsinki and flying back home to view lands to develop is one of the worst things you can think of because you can't trust anybody in Nigeria to do things for you; even your family can be your worst Nightmare. It was then very unfortunate for me to get to Nigeria and read all these comments about Lawyer being a fraudster and all on this Okun Mopo thing and i was very apprehensive to meet him talkless of going to the Okun Ajah Place because i assumed the people on Nairaland know what they are talking about an he probably must have defrauded some people but my spirit was still telling me to go and see it my self and i called my Uncle in the Navy to accompany me.

To be honest i am ashamed that i harboured the thought to see Lawyer as a Fraudster and we should learn to know a person or a product personally before you pass judgement unjustly. Words cannot describe how kind hearted this young man is and brutally honest and its this kind of person we need in our country to give us outside this country a little bit of respect that we are not all fraudsters and we do genuinely have people that are caring and Honest. He took us to the place, took us to meet the family, showed us the surveyor in charge, answered all our questions professionally and kept us telling us that we should not rush to make up our minds but to sit on it and pray on it and if its God's will, I should buy it and if not, he will continue to help me look for what ever i want till i am happy. I was very touched and when ever i asked him about his own fees and how he does things, he just kept telling me that i should be happy first before we talk about money. In fact i remember when one of the family members were proposing to introduce me to another place that they said its better, Lawyer argued with them that he hasn't done any search there and cannot verify it. They brought out their survey plans and documents and awyer kept on Telling me to ignore them because he cannot vouch for it. If he was playing the same game with these people, he would have encouraged me to go and look at it but he fought against it and the funniest thing is that he didnt ask for any fees or compensation for protecting my interest which is very strange thing that is not common to Nigerians. I am happy i met him and i hope God continues to use lawyer to help people too the more and God will continue to use others to help him.

Anyway about the Okun Mopo land before i spend the whole day gloating on Lawyer, it has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is the pricing because after breaking the price down, i found it quite reasonable and affordable and most importantly, it takes care of all the payments now which would be a problem in future in not sorted out well. Also the serenity of the place is smething else and the proximity to the beach is not that far especially for those who love the beach view and beach serene environment. My Uncle was totally relaxed on the beach like a teenager and this is a very hard man who rarely has fun or likes to smile grin However in terms of its disadvantage, development is still picking up in terms of people who bought lands there have only started building from the scratch so you shouldnt expect to see mansions there. You will see plenty of foundations and border fences scattered everywhere but no one has gone that far to roof it but i can imagine if everyone decides to finish up building there, it will be marvelous. Maybe the recession is playing a big part in slowing development there. Only time will tell. Also it hasn't been connected to the national grid for lighr but i did see Nepa officials connecting wires to the various poles. Also in respect of the distance between Okun Ajah and Okun Mopo, its a long stretch of land that takes approximately 5 between Okun Mopo and Okun Ajah border and you just see expanse of land but no development and when i asked why cant they allocate me a plot close to the Okun Ajah/ Okun Mopo Border, i was told all the lands there on that stretch of road has been sold awaiting development and finally in terms of foundation, there is no way a land in lekki ajah shouldnt be built with a raft. Its just daftness for someone to build a land in Lekki/ Ajah without building a solid structure to protect the house. I dont think that issue should be debatable. No matter the cost, a solid foundation must be erected once the idea of getting a land in these environment is decided all the way from Victoria Island down to Epe.

Well i believe that place is for someone who intends to build now and finish in the next 2 years to enjoy the benefit of that place and its a place not for immediate movement today or the next 6 months but it depends on your level of foresight to see if you will appreciate waiting for a year to fully enjoy the place. If you intend to build and move in immediately in the next 6 months, Okun Mopo is not advisable rather Okun Ajah is more developed but more expensive. Buying in Okun Mopo a short/long term project . Personally i have thought of it and i wont deny its a hidden treasure and i will probably buy there but i will still be cautious in terms of securing the place and doing all the necessary things because i have suffered in the hands of Omonile and family members in 2 previous occassions i tried to get a land in both the Ikorodu axis and lekki . Finally Lawyer, i think you have to go and meet the Chiefs of Okun Ajah and Okun Mopo to make you a chief too because your well liked there and its no suprise they like you because you potray yourself as someone who cares for others and people will take you up in high esteem. You will be hearing from me soon. God Bless and thanks for your hospitality today . Please Lawyer i know if your reading this you already know who i am, i implore you not to reveal my identity in anyway whether i buy or not. I will really appreciate that and dont be embarrased by the adulations. You deserve it smiley
