Thats because ur husband wants to do it and you know that if you ask him, he'll do it.
All marriages are not the same.
Some men do all these things and even more, but they are no good.
I know of a man who calls his wife sweetpie,honey,darling and other sweet stuff, but he later took his sales lady as his second wife.
Can you explain that too? Not doing dishes for your  partner doesn't mean you love her less.
For me, i can only do it if she's pregnant/nursing our baby,sick or away from home. In this case, i would do more, watching her clothes,cooking if i can,doing dishes etc.
Infact every man goes thru this, especially if there's no outside help.
But aside from these things i listed above, i see no other reason why i should do the dishes.

When any guy supports the ladies, he's sensible. If he's against, he's labelled a fool.
We all have our different opinions. That i do not believe in yours doesn't make mine stupid.
A wife should know her husband very well and would certainly know what to demand/ask from him. Some women will never even allow their husbands to step inside their kitchen, so doing dishes is out of question. While some would want their husbands to be there wit them to help, or just watch them cook.
Most ladies here insists that the man should the dishes once in while. But if he doesn't, what happens? Will you fight him because He refused to do the dishes?
If you wouldn't, then there's no need for this arguement. But if you would fight him, does it mean you would jeopardize ur marriage because your husband refused to do the dishes? I'd like to know.

Did you say more rights? The women in the west were given virtually every right. This is a place where a woman can marry just to share wealth or collect alimony for herself. What kind of stupid right is that? The smart men over there will quickly arrange for a nuptial agreement before marriage and the lady would cry foul.
Men in the western world are like caged animals, looking for a way to escape. They're always pleasing their wives as if they are some goddess or something.
Take a look at what happened to African china. He had sex with a lady just like two consenting adults would do and the next day, he was charged with rape. The lady wanted some dough for herself but she didn't want to work for it. She intended to live off on a man's wealth. How sad.
If naija would change to be that kind of society then i'd rather be in this one.
The white women can barely control themselves how much more the black African women. They would just bury us and think nothing of it.
I just know that no matter the amount of influence the western world have over us, it wouldn't change our traditions and culture.
It wouldn't, not in a thousand years!

You ladies/girls are giving the seeker way too much credit. One thing is to say you can do something and another thing is doing it.
Like i said in my previous posts, this is Naija. All the babes that are against the idea of not washing are ladies living abroad.
The ladies in Naija here seems to be silent over this. They're not part of it. And one thing i know is that men that can do all these things without complaining, are the ones that can beat you to death with a cricket bat without blinking over insurance pay.(someone said it earlier)
All that glitters is not gold. If a man doesn't do dishes with his wife it doesn't show lack of love. A man can still love his wife regardless of whatever.

The guy that wrote this, is an ignorant fool. He should get his facts right before posting nonsense on net.
Imo state is the only state with high marriage bills and its only in some places.
Towns like mbano,mbaise,mbaitoolu,orlu etc are the ones with high dowry. Before you marry from this places you'll spend at least half a million before you can get married properly. In some cases they can reduce the amount a little, if the guy is not capable enough.
But Anambra is different. In some cases, the father will not accept anything from the bridegroom. They do this just to tell you that they're not selling off their daughter.
So the cargo should do his homework very well before posting crap.
