SkinnyDude, this is exactly what MrsChima said, when someone comes with an opinion that greatly deviates yours and it's from a woman, then you ask for evidence.

Nigga just buy a composite cable with ur sdtv if u can't afford an hdtv
You do remember he wants to use a 4:3 TV, right? So imagine when he tries to play GTA IV or COD and he gets the 80028F10 error, then he tries to fix it using the 16:9 setting workaround...Now, imagine what his screen would look like if it let's him play the game...So it's definitely not advisable.

maybe the uneducated ones.
but ladies, whether educated or not, most are clueless in that aspect..
even my B.maths lecturer, a senior lecturer. mistook East for West. she couldn't label the four cardinal points correctly. and she is highly intelligent and educated.
The same can be said for the general American public, with "their other left" scenario. Seriously? That particular issue is one of my pet peeves. That was your B Maths lecturer, I highly doubt her inability to correctly identify her Cardinal points, proves that women are clueless with directions. It simply proves she doesn't know that.

someone who asked you 'how's london' wasn't wrong.
most home base nigerians think every nigerian in england is residing in london
No. They always ask it as the country, every single time I remind them it's the capital city, they'll always laugh & always end up awkwardly saying "you know what I mean nah..." Then the whole starts again.

It is as if they are intimidated by intelligent topics, but I don't blame them, the other day a lad was crying about his topic on wonderful earth facts was ignored, while "Tonto Dike goes braless" was quickly moved to front page. The brain decline and rot is a serious problem that needs to be looked into. Meanwhile "Mercy Aigbe's 12 year old daughter looking sexy" is our current headliner grin grin grin
Funny thing though...

ya. when i ask them the capital of England, they say 'Europe'.

i saw when a lady, nairalander called London a country
Actually, you'd be surprised how many folks think London is a country...yes men included. The amount times I get asked "How's London?" **sighs**

TrishaP:
Most times it is the societal reflects on ladies that makes them mute when it comes to discussions . Doesn't mean they are not intelligent, most would rather just keep to themselves and observe.
Boom goes the dynamite. There are times I'm about to make a comment on one of the more questionable threads and I just carry myself away and never return to it.

Downton Abbey is unique, one of a kind. Black sails on the other hand is just another pirate themed TV series in a long list of 'em. "Crossbones" anyone?
Downton Abbey isn't as unique as you think...Downton Abbey is basically Upstairs Downstairs.

Suspect33:
u hav a ps3 right?, is'nt there a setting to change the screen resolution?
I do, but I'm playing it using a HD TV & HDMI not an old school CRT TV. Yes, if you're using the composite wires, you could adjust the video resolution accordingly, but like a NLer* discovered a while back, he wasn't able to play a certain game because it kept telling him he didn't have the right specs to run the video.

*I might put up the link later.

The seasoned English actors in Black Sails helped create an aura of authenticity that helped the show immensely. But on the audience front, Black Sails is not very popular, sure fans tune in to watch their favorite TV show every week, but their numbers cannot be compared to those that would rather watch Downton Abbey instead, as the weekly ratings suggest.

Black Sails is no doubt a decent series, but calling it and I quote "bloody brilliant" may be a bit of an exaggeration on your part.
To you it seems an exaggeration, to me it isn't. I enjoy it immensely and consider it bloody brilliant. I for one don't ever intend to watch Downton Abbey - it's just Brits doing what they do best, a domestic period drama.

No. They're some games that must be played in HD. Think of it as having something in widescreen, but watching it in letterbox, you'll be missing out of the stuff going on at the sides.

I haven't been very fond of Starz in recent years. Since Spartacus wrapped up ages ago, they haven't able to develop another dynamite. They tried with "Boss" and failed. They tried with "White Queen" and failed. They tried with "Power" and failed again. They kept trying and kept failing miserably. Da Vinci's Demon and Black Sails are not exactly drawing major audience presently. And finally, their newest production, "Outlander, which in it's maiden. season isn't faring any better, and just like it's predecessors before it, is at the losing end of a weekly battle with a direct rival, in this case - "Vikings".

I'm sure Outlander is better than the crappy "Reign" but I'd rather watch "The Musketeers" than waste my time watching a grown man with a weird accent trot around in a skirt.
I'm guessing you don't watch Black Sails, that show is bloody brilliant. It seems to be drawing a decent crowd since its been renewed for a third season.

Anne Hathaway killed me with her wrecking ball performance, fucking hilarious
As in! I died a new kind of death - the way they revealed the wrecking ball & the way she ran to it #Priceless, she annihilated Emily Blunt. Hathaway's performance is definitely my fave so far, with Anna Kendrick's weird facial expressions a close second.

I used DLNA to watch videos from my laptop on my tv with my ps3.
Also do that with my phone as well. Shame Apple like to act all stingy and limit theirs to their devices.

Agreed. It was creative. I know what facetime is and I knew what he did. (I have a ps4 and apple devices)

However, I was saying that the general idea isn't new. Sony was even trying to do something with "Playstation certified phones" but they abandoned it.

There is a classic scene from a chess movie where a boy is playing his dad from his bath-tub. The boy was in the tub while the father was playing downstairs. They were connected by phones. I have done something similar by playing chess with my friend through a videocall.

In short.....its not impressive to me. So sorry for any misunderstanding
No worries, I control my PS3, TV and my sound system with my phone. Thanks to HDMI Control and WatchON app, all because I was too lazy to find batteries for my TV remote.

I'm guessing you don't know how expensive converses can be. I personally won't spend over £15 for a pair. On a generous day, I might close my eyes and pay £25, but I'm a cheapskate. Here's a screenshot I took a few minutes ago from office (yes that's the actual name of the shop) website.

Not really a new idea. Remote play and dlna.
Actually it's neither of the 2. It's simply using his Bluetooth controller & FaceTime between to Apple devices. Now if he was streaming media from his phone using his PS4, that would have been DLNA. If he was using his PS Vita to control his PS4 that would be remote play...oh and the audio & video would also be shown through his PS Vita.

Maybe his way wasn't innovative, but it was certainly creative.

Okay, enough already mack 1110* (formerly known as mack111), the YouTube Nigerian-Brit is a real thing, he was even featured on FP, the guy actually made it into the papers over here (UK). Unfortunately, you're dead set with your opinion, that regardless of whatever point we try to make about us spending our free-time (or in the case of actual professional gamers most of their time) gaming. It is not any different from your skirt-chasing or "networking" as you called it, that's how you choose to spend your time, that's your prerogative. Get it into your head, enough with the stereotype. Of course, there's a reason why it exists in the first place, since they're people who fit in the description, but not all gamers.

Now Zeongeon, I don't know whether it's the frustration of trying to get your point across to what might have appeared to be the equivalent of a brick wall, but you've also crossed the line into name calling, so you'll suffer the same fate as mack111.

You can get your points across without using homophobic and derogatory name calling. It would appear a lot of you're stuck with notions of various stereotypes, while ironically conforming to other stereotypes in your quest of getting your point across.
