armadeo:The effects are cool, plus most of the stunts are actually practical ones not CGI based. But the storyline is rather lacking, they could have done better. |
wintersnow:Who knows, maybe we are? |
donkelz:I watched it at the cinema, it's been a while since I downloaded a film, I usually just use torrents. |
dolphinheart:If it makes the money, then yes. Although, I kinda want one if they could tell a better story with it. |
Jupiter Ascending was definitely visually stunning with killer action scenes, but it could have been better. Mila Kunis spent most of the film falling, screaming, cleaning the toilet and looking hella confused. Channing Tatum was a flying albino elf beefcake (ok he was spliced with wolf DNA, but I've been calling the film the flying elf movie for almost a year now), Eddie Redmayne hammed the hell outta his role (not going to lie, I really liked his OTT acting, but critics seem to hate it, folks are saying he might have lost the Oscar thanks to this film). The Wachowskis created a rather interesting world and premise, but they kinda failed with their story/script. This could have been a bigger and better film. I want those gravity boots. At least, it wasn't a boring film. |
Preboy:The alternative ending is the standard Hollywood happy ending, if I remember correctly... I can't really check since I'm at the cinema and I'm waiting for the ads to start, I'm not one of those annoying folks who use their phones during the film or trailers. |
dolphinheart:Now fear dey catch me small small, anywho I'll be watching Jupiter Ascending in about 2 hours. I finally watched Ex-Machina, although I did fall asleep during session 2 to session 4 (Omo, I was tired and it was the only showing left in my cinema), it did pick up by the end of the second act and the ending was kinda crazy. Be warned, it's more of a drama and a slow burn thriller with mostly 3 people (2 people and a robot). |
Keep Your Money by Jussie Smollett (AKA Jamal Lyon from Empire). |
Senjuchiha:Nope, wasn't my cup of tea, since it was a FPS. |
Senjuchiha:**Aggressively hums The Vengeful Spartan** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghpaFwnFtfY |
Since it's fairly used, it should be advertised as 'as new'. |
kennyoguns0509:There was no need to duplicate the thread, update this one. @StPete aren't all Saints dead? If I remember correctly that's a major pre-requisite to Sainthood, except if you're a member of of the group All Saints, that might be awkward... EDIT: I've updated the original post. |
I basically lived on the FIFA 08 and FIFA 10 OSTs, I own both. FIFA 07 - Wele Wele by Angelique Kidjo, Civil Sin by Boy Kill Boy & Sewn by The Feeling. FIFA 08 - Ali in the Jungle by The Hours, Monster by The Automatic, Born to Run by k-os, The Unshockable by Maxïmo Park, Bum Like You by Robyn, You'll Find A Way by Santogold & Love Abuse by Lukas Kasha. FIFA 10 - Kangpe by Nneka, Dorothy by SoShy, Science of Fear by The Temper Trap, Miss You by Adiam Dymott, Hold the Line by Major Lazer ft. Mr Lexx & Santogold & She's Got Me Dancing by Tommy Sparks. FIFA 14 - Boa Noite by Karol Conka, Love Natural by Crystal Fighters & I Am by Rock Mafia. |
Aren't yall tired of the HOTEL riddle? I have seen it one too many times on NL...As for the first one, we haven't seen the full equation, so we can't actually solve it. |
dolphinheart:Thanks, I just watch a lot of films. I was going to watch Ex Machina today, but I'm just too tired. If you're a Michael Bay fan, there's Project Almanac (I will probably not watch it, I tend to avoid films that look like documentaries regardless of whether they're good eg Chronicle), I would recommend Kingsman: The Secret Service - the church action scene is worth the admission price. Jupiter Ascending looks like it could be a decent sci-fi blockbuster, as long as the Wachowskis don't think too much and mess it up like they did the Matrix sequels. |
Preboy:I only just started rewatching them so I might not be the best to ask. I really liked Flower Girl, The Last Flight to Abuja was well-directed & I liked its colour scheme. I really want to watch Phone Swap. |
Pr0ton:Here I thought you'd be happy since your name is derived from proton and mine appears to be a stable compound, since all a free proton wants is stablilty. |
Noctis:I've no idea, it seemed there were the ones my mind ran to first. Black Flag just proved we all really want to be pirates, I spent way too much time sailing & plundering. |
kennyoguns0509:You really need to elaborate...'two console' do you mean two controllers or are you selling 2 more consoles with the PS4? Plus pictures would also be helpful. And I doubt StPete is psychic despite his name being that of a dead Saint, he can't call a number that isn't there. |

Preboy:They started doing films that made sense again. |
Contract. Finally going to use irokotv to finally watch something other than Flower Girl. Where the heck can I watch Phone Swap? |
tensazangetsu:After a quick trip to google, I'm guessing you mean error 80028F10...Are you using HDMI as your video output? The fault either lies with your TV not being able to handle the video or the composite cables provided cannot handle the video. So you need to output your video using HDMI. Time to upgrade to HD. Although, some folks sorted out their issue by simply changing their tv resolution to 16:9 and fiddling with their display settings of their PS3. (Settings > Display Settings > Video Output Settings > Composite/S-Video). But the fact is you really do need to upgrade to HD. |
proffnico:They are still making sequels?! Wow... |
Flawlessangel:I was calm, dude came blazing in like I personally insulted his baby. I actually came into DMC late, I started with the third. Hermanie:Your second attempt was slightly better, if you weren't too quick on the draw, you yourself should know that the AC series gameplay is rather repetitive, but we let it slide 'cause the stories are always mixed together with history & the intriguing nature of the First People. But, because my opinion differed from yours, you called me a plagiarist and then didn't even bother to give an opinion. Get over it, AC III though bundled with one of the best AC soundtrack had to offer was boring to me since I had played every AC console game to date at the time, and I felt they hadn't really improved as much as they could have. Though, it was better than Revelations, which felt like a big step down after the improvement that were Brotherhood and AC II. PoP:WW - this annoyed me greatly, I remembered how ticked off I became while playing this on the PS2, when I discovered I was going back and forth between the present and the past on the same freaking level. That got annoying real quick, I think I actually did stop after the third time it happened. Plus, the soundtrack became more rock infused, of course I understood it was supposed to show the Prince's growth as a fighter & all the shtako he went through, but I'd missed the beauty & the playfulness of the previous soundtrack. Now, why don't you continue the discussion by providing your own opinion on your worst video game sequel, instead of complaining about my choices... |
@Preboy, did you watch Pirates! In An Adventure with Scientists!? I really liked that one. To be honest, Aardman Animations could release claymation of drying paint and I would probably watch it. |
Preboy:Sony owns the film rights to Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, while FOX owns the rights to X-Men. Marvel traded their well known entities to these studios hoping they could work the market. While, it worked for the studios not for Marvel, they didn't get as much as they hoped. It's funny that folks forget about how Blade & Punisher are also From Marvel. Blade is the only one that made real money. Punisher has been remade how many times now? I think I've seen Frank Castle's origin story like three times now. Marvel decided to go into this film game themselves, they decided to use one of their less popular comics, Iron Man. The only adaptation I remember was the terrible animated series they did in the 90s. I downloaded that piece of shtako as an adult, I stopped at maybe episode 3 and noped it to oblivion. Anywho, they gambled on making a shared cinematic universe and folks laughed, while folks ain't laughing so much now. Actually, not Sony but FOX with the X-Men franchise, the first one is still a good film & still holds well. The second one is actually not bad, but the third one...that one is a special case of annoyance to both fanboys & casuals. Unfortunately, for them I'd already read the Cure storyline by Joss Whedon, which the film is loosely based on (this comic also brought Colossus back to life and has one of my fave Marvel cover - Kitty Pryde & Colossus, I digress, I'll post it later). Anywho, they tried to put many characters in it and failed; they made Phoenix into a split personality not a cosmic entity; Callisto sucked balls, she is a fearless leader not a waif; Nightcrawler is missing; if that purple haired Asian chic was supposed to be Physlocke AND she's apparantly a Morlock, I'll personally beat the writer of the film script with a large object or get someone else to do it. They tried to put too much into it and they just failed, the only really good thing I can really remember - the fast ball special...unless I'm confusing my films. Although, they did redeem themselves with First Class, Days of Future Past and The Wolverine. Wolverine: Origins was a brilliant video game, play the Uncaged Edition (PS3 or 360), the film had its issues, but it was a sweet game. Plus, the leaked work cut edition is definely better than the finished work. And I still say that guy mis-translated the Wakanda guy's Igbo. They wasted Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds was made to play Deadpool. Funny how Wakanda had Igbos in it. Now, I don't mind changing storyline really I don't as long as it works in the film. I enjoyed Kick-Ass even though they removed the big twist and it's considerably less violent. Like I once tried to explain to someone, the films are less violent than the comics. Seriously, the Colonel Stars and Stripes scene was way more bloody and that dog was involved, yup in the exact way you think. Fantastic Four, that one has suffered before, but no one saw it, Google fantastic four 1994 and enjoy that video. At. Your. Own. Peril. Well they're rebooting it. I actually like the films, not the best of stuff, but they were entertaining and Chris Evans owned Human Torch, who knew the guy would play the Cap so well? Spidey actually had a decent run, then Spidey 3 happened with the emo and the dance that shall not be named or seen. Tobey was a good Spidey, he embodied that awkward kid who just wants to live his life. I was a bit skeptical of the reboot, but it was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Then they pulled the Rhino bait and switch in Amazing Spidey 2, I still had a good laugh when folks were shocked by the death, that spoiler is older than all the ones from Game of Thrones, by several decades. Apparently, Sony wanted to combine Spidey with the MCU, but Marvel wanted Andrew Garfield out. Spidey has actually been a member of both Avengers & Fantastic Four. He's also technically been a staffer at Xavier's school. Sidebar: Bloody hell, I can talk. Whoops got my Sony and FOX mixed up, corrected it now. So technically my issue is with FOX, rather fitting, since they actually cancelled the original 90s animated X-Men series & Spidey series. And then destroyed all my favourite sci-fis (Firefly, Almost Human, Dollhouse etc) and other shows. This beef runs deep bruv.

Preboy:You watched Planes?! I didn't even bother to touch the original, in fact I stopped at Cars, I've never seen Cars 2 and the whole nonsense that came with and I'll never will. BH6 is based on Marvel characters, obviously they couldn't use some originals like Sliver Samurai & Sunfire since that's X-Men territory. Plus, they also wanted kids to watch it, so they made it user friendly, so they it became inspired by the comics. The Japanese angle came with the original story. Not a clue about the rest, since my Marvel knowledge is limited on that one. |
youmour:The only reason I've PES 2014 is it was free on PS+, at least you've got local multiplayer, think of the poor guy in Japan with no local multiplayer & can only play on the Japanese servers. I'll stick with my FIFA. I've only played a few hours of Saints Row 4 and it cracked me up. Although, it was the first SR I played, I guess it's like me with COD: Ghosts, it was the first COD & FPS I played after my long exile from FPSs, I'll always like it even though a lot of COD fans keep saying bad things about it. |
