koice:Oi! Blasphemy! koice:Sounds really interesting, very tempted, but I already watch way too much. |
koice:They tried, that show almost died how many times, fans actually resurrected it by buying Subway sandwiches, they even got Subway to sponsor it. Since their network was determined to kill it (especially when they pulled that nonsense stunt with Jay Leno & that silly daily prime time show they gave him, that shtako crashed & burned, then the debacle with The Tonight Show happened when they tried to shaft Conan O'Brien)*. Enjoy our theme song in its full glory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7aDstrDMf0 *I really need to not know these things... |
Lailerh:I introduced my brother to it. |
To quote my sister, anytime I send any Empire-related ghen ghen on BBM "Empire tinz." |
I was wondering how long it would take someone to ask the "are you female?" question... |
koice:Did you raid my external HDD? Man, I miss Chuck & Burn Notice... |
DrDre1:But it was denied in a rather epic fashion, I'll give Guthrie that, she was having none of their BS. I already watch too much, I won't even go there. UPDATE: Although, Tumblr keeps tempting me to watch The 100, first due to Dichen Lachman (Lexa's predecessor), but when I found out she was only in 6 episodes and had died, I was like nope...ain't nobody gonna kill Sierra (from the tv series Dollhouse) like that. No sir-ey. |
How could I forget the arcade games, Die Hard was my shtako, I used to get a small crowd whenever I played. Tekken was really fun on arcade with the joystick and buttons. Chei e don tay since I've played an arcade game. |
Let's see Tetris, I still get sentimental whenever I see it, still one of the most addictive games in the world. Street Fighter 2 & Mortal Kombat were my SNES babies, MK was the first thing I ever played on the SNES (at a family friend's house, were they gave me the fatality of my life), the good old days of no age ratings. Then Sonic the Hedgehog was my friend on Sega. **sighs** |
rokiatu:As in! I got so distracted by this episode that I didn't notice we had arrived at my stop. Seriously, if my stop wasn't the last stop I would have missed it. Props to Jamal, he was on point - those cajones are really working out for him. Hakeem is slowly learning. Anika don tire. Andre...wow... Coookie is still epic. |
Black Sails. |
Agents of SHIELD. |
Currently watching Wicked at the Apollo Victoria (it's obviously the intermission now), does this count as a film? Seriously though, the special effects are brilliant, who needs CGI? |
@tziz, post your advert here - https://www.nairaland.com/gaming-ads . No need for sly posts. |
Once Upon a Time. |
Kingsleyinfo:The Uncharted series is pretty sweet, they're cinematically stunning and the characters are just awesome. Personally, I believe Uncharted: Among Thieves is the best in the PS3 trilogy, the opening sequence on the dangling train is still one of my favourite "WTH did you do to get here Drake?" scenes. Uncharted is basically Indiana Jones without the whip & fedora, and a male Lara Croft (they came out to have a good time, but they're feeling so attacked right now). Then of course, the series is also known for its awesome action scenes, that any film would kill for. The falling building in Among Theieves, the sinking ship in Drake's Deception, the quips Drake makes when he's about to get into situations he knows he'll hate, the father-son relationship of Victor "Sully" Sullivan & Nathan Drake, the actual chemistry between all the actors and their characters. If they finally get the Uncharted series to become a film franchise, it could potentially be a blockbuster if done right. They could just release the actual game footage and cut scenes as an animated action adventure, it would sell well. I haven't played Infamous, but the demo was good enough to make me buy a copy, which I've got it somewhere in my room, at some point I'll get to it. Plus, I've always heard good things about the series. |
Interesting, I commend the OP for stating his opinion, no matter how backwards, silly, opaque and downright misogynistic it is, it is his right. Just as it is our right to call him out on his BS, even when his quest is to insult folks to get his point across. The OP probably wishes women should remain in the Dark Ages, where their lives were solely made for breeding, feeding & cleaning...**sighs** Sitting there behind your electronic device spewing about never using female doctors, pilots or whatever, with all that training & studying they put in (just like their male counterparts), because you Mr. Manly Man is scared about their gender. Do you know how silly that sounds? May your daughters' dreams never be hampered by a man's ignorance. And by the way, Mr. Manly Man with all your hyper masculinity and such, when was the last time you partook in actual stereotypical hyper masculinity activities? When last did you battle an alpha predator with your bare hands? Why aren't you flying the plane, instead of the woman who has been fully trained to do so? Your apparent manliness should be able to understand all those buttons, lights, levers and switches simply because you're a man. Why aren't you in the front lines on all the wars/battles? Your apparent alpha maleness should be able to fight all wars in all positions at the same time, you're THE man, time & physics be damned, they fall at man's will. Man, I'm sure you would be able to perform your own surgeries because you're a man, THE man, the BAMF-ing man. Other men are able to sense your ultimate man-ness from miles away, infact they're sensing it right now through NL... |
Imagine Wesley Snipes as Lucious, he was the original choice, but Taraji changed that real quick. Imagine Quincy Brown as Hakeem, that's Diddy's boy (actually he's Al B. Sure!'s biological child with Kim Porter, the kid looks like his biological father - complete with monobrow, seriously it's like Kim was just a carrier). Apparently, the music contract was the major wahala - of course Diddy knows a thing or two about dodgy music contracts. https://static.thefrisky.com/uploads/2010/01/25/present-Quincy-Brown.jpg Imagine Monique as Cookie...she claims that she was supposed to have the part. https://rollingout.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/121110_hollyscopes_monique_544.jpg?f66a58 Well, that would have been one interesting Empire with Nino Brown as the patriarch, Precious's mum as the matriarch and a spoilt rich kid acting as a spoilt rich brat... |
So has anyone played The Order yet? |
Brown47:Good first post, but this has already been done, https://www.nairaland.com/2109753/10-awesome-benefits-playing-games , also you should have added the source, http://www.ocmodshop.com/10-benefits-of-video-games/ . Just because you shortened the post doesn't deny the fact it's been plagarised in the first place. |
Go up down up down up down, go up down up down up down, shake it fast... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krlxHu6pAA0 Lucious's face gets me everytime, I honestly thought he was going to go all ninja, flying down and chopping Jamal to pieces. |
Why was the FP name changed to refer to the man & his wife's tribes? Some folks really like to cause wahala...**sighs** |
Just finished the series finale of Parks & Recreation, I'm gonna miss those guys. |
demelza:You took the words right out of my mouth. The devil is currently on vacation, unnamed spirits are now covering his shift. |
I've never personally owned Subway Surfers and all my scores were work-related. |
I'm surprised the board hasn't called Lucious on his BS, his pride keeps wasting their money, the guy really needs to remember he runs a corporation. He might have founded it, but he still answers to his board [and his future shareholders]. rokiatu:I found this all by myself, then recommended it to everyone else. I saw Taraji & Terrence's names on it, that was enough for me, anything that brings Taraji to my screen is good for me. Plus, I had missed her after they bumped Carter off Person of Interest. I usually watch this show every Thursday morning on my way to work, that means I'm usually pulling some weird face or reaction between 0600 and 0800 on the train or on the bus or at work, after someone has pulled a crazy stunt. I remember shouting on the train when Cookie pulled the dinner stunt. Or the time when I was at work (my shift hadn't started yet) and Lucious whooped that singer's manager/cousin butt in the tour bus, I was laughing so much that I had to explain to folks why I was cackling like a deranged person. |
diluminati:Your fandom is big on social media, the day of the kiss, my Tumblr dashboard was filled with it. So I decided to see what all the hoopla was about. Plus, I haven't watched Glee & Grey's in years, but I know what's happening there since folks won't shut up about them. |
SegunFlames:I did. cao: |
DrDre1:Although, I did see the Clexa* kiss on Tumblr, your analysis was spot on, Clarke practically gave a WTF face, then ol' girl just went for it. I definitely see a possible relationship between Clarke & Lexa, whenever Clarke is ready for it, after she finishes processing Finn's death and handles the war. I do like one thing Lexa did though, once Clarke said she couldn't Lexa IMMEDIATELY gave her some space - no touching, no cajoling, no bargaining, just actual breathing room. She may have let 200 odd folks to burn, but I've got mad respect for her just for that. The 100 fandom really went gaga for the kiss & the Wicken* (Raven & Wick) hookup. Oh and now I understand why the fandom call Lexa 'heart eyes.' *yes that's their ship name, I'm too old to know these things EDIT: @bimffo, she's bisexual, y'all really need to understand the sexuality spectrum. Glad you owned up on your bigotry, a nice change from the usual ironic 'I'm not homophobic' comments. That's actually oddly refreshing. |
naijababe:If looks could kill. |
Empire. Chei! This show wan kill person. Cookie Lyon - woman handles her buisness. Jamal Lyon - the boy has finally grown cajones and they're big and brass. Lucious Lyon - the thunder that will fire him is currently doing press ups (I'm spending too much time on NL). I dey swear for the guy every new episode. The ALS is taking too long. Anika- she and LL deserve each other, she keeps pulling some stunts that just makes me want to send her to hell, everytime I dey pity the woman, she go pull one mad stunt (I'll never forgive her for what she did to the recovering addict). Hakeem Lyon - oh boy needs to form a relationship with broom Cookie beat him with. Although, I dey like 'em small small, after he revealed why he has issues with Cookie. Andre Lyon - oh boy take your damn pills, plus him and his wife Rhonda get that special kind of crazy...the kind way you no go touch with disinfectant & a 50ft pole. Vernon - well they finally remembered you on the show. Good for you, oya do something... Bunkie - shey you now know you f***ed up? #LessonsFromTheGrave This show will be the death of me, plus the music is so freaking sweet. I've listened to No Apologies & Keep Your Money way too many times. CC: naijababe. E don happen, we don get fan thread. |
naijababe:Oh girl I usually watch it on my morning train to work, you should have seen my face this morning, the only reason I didn't shout was I didn't want to disgrace myself. |
