I mentioned another option earlier - play a downloaded game/demo and insert BR (you don't necessarily have to be in-game, the front end menu would do), then press the PS button...the disc icon should hopefully pop up. The thing is if it's a software issue, you could still have the problem after you've replaced the hardware. You could still keep trying the Restore File System option and this option, unless if it has given you the official error message, then just move onto a new BR lens.

In my case, I've taken to not switching off my PS3. Whenever I do switch it off, I make sure there's no disc in it, since whenever I turn it on with a disc left inside it makes the annoying ejecting noise, then I've to sort the whole thing out again. This wahala started one glorious day when they were sorting out the fusebox/electrics in my house, they kept randomly switching it on and off without telling me, apparently the PS3 didn't like it.

I've no idea on Naija prices, I got mine from eBay, I think I spent £7, although I've now seen the same thing for £2.99 - Maxell Pro Blu-Ray Cleaner. It was the one I kept seeing while I was searching for solutions at the time.

The thing is when this usually happens to me, it can either be sorted in 5 minutes or 2 hours...I can be one patient individual...

I've explained this before in another thread. It's either your BR lens is faulty or it's a software issue (i.e corrupt). I've got the same issue with my PS3 for over 6 months maybe even a year, it's still going strong. I'll just quote myself.

Not a clue, but the thing is if it's a software problem, then you would have wasted all your money for naught. If it's the corrupt boot file, then enter the safe mode and select Restore File System. I just realised I never asked which model of PS3 you're using.

One of the other ways I use is to clean my BR lens with a BR lens cleaner. And another is to play a downloaded game (a demo also works), then inserting the BR into the PS3 and then pressing the PS button - the disc icon will then pop up in the necessary area (under video for films, under games for games). One other thing I've also found is, if I leave my disc in the PS3 and then it shuts down, I've to sort out the nonsense all over again.

If it's the hardware problem, I know I should have the link saved somewhere.

The last time I had this issue, I used my BR lens cleaner three times in a row before it started working again.

I'm guessing yemicoal is very unaware of guys online, it's definitely a first world problem. The way some guys just be throwing d pics left right and centre, not just teens and randoms, but also politicians, you'd think it was a phallic Christmas party complete with phallic confetti and fireworks.

Now onto the women who got their nudes leaked, they were hacked (I'm guessing you're talking about the iCloud accounts that were hacked by some twats). Now, I don't personally agree with them taking those pics, but do you know what? They were not meant for the public, they were meant for personal use. I'll forever respect how Jennifer Lawrence stood her ground, she decided not to apologise, her privacy was invaded, laid bare for anyone with an internet connection & Google to see. We might have an idea why they were taken, but it's not our buisness. If she wants to run naked covered by only BBQ sauce, that's her prerogative. Wetin concern agbero with overload? Go on with your bad self, just no come near me with your crazy...

Plus, Apple messed up big time on security - how the hell do you allow brute force to work on the password of cloud storage on infinite tries? Geez, you input the wrong password on your iOS device five times & it wipes your hard drive...but I can try forever with your iCloud storage. Imagine someone putting the wrong code for your burglar alarm over and over again, then finally getting into your house, without the alarm going off. #EpicFail

A thief came to your house and stole your belongings, then gives it away for free, then you (random person) proceeds to blame the victim for allowing it to happen, while you're now using their stolen belongings (which you know were stolen). Those who went round looking for those nude leaks are as bad as the douches that stole it in the first place.

And don't even get me started on the whole revenge porn thing. Ex-boyfriends posting their ex-girlfriends nude pics or films online because they've broken up. I don't care if you caught her in bed with GEJ & GMB, with Babaginda snooping in the corner or if it was vice versa, don't pull that weak a** stunt.

I thought I was the only one who could relate to Marvel characters more than DC's... well I'm a of both so I tend to enjoy which ever comes my way.
Truth be told, I'm don't do comics much, I only watch the animations made with the character, hence I've watched Kick ass bt I'm just hearing of the rest.

Mehn i juz hope he rethinks the entire scenario cus I love the young justice characters, I'm actually tired of JLA, been watching them since I was 5, guys need new faces. Well I love DC when it comes to animation, Marvel does justice with Movies, hence my anticipation for "Ant Man" and "The Avengers: age of ultron".
I also watched an episode of teen Titans once, it ranks 4th at "most annoying shows I watched in 2014". it made Teletubbies look like watching The AVENGERS

Seriously I'm still surprise you are into DC comics, I thought you only do Marvel

Marvel made more sense to me with its misfits, unlike DC which appears to revolve around rich/entitled folks and the universe's ultimate Boy Scout. Seriously, one can relate more to Spiderman, X-Men & the F4 than Batman, Superman or Aquaman. We certainly feel more for Peter Parker than Bruce Wayne, since we see more of ourselves in the former than the latter.

But, they all make some entertaining shows and films, I'll give them that. Although, I no longer follow mainstream comics (too expensive). I now deal with independents and limited runs. eg. Millarworld comics (Kick-Ass, Super Crooks, Wanted etc. Usually violent and funny, the guy is Scottish - they actually tone down the violence in the films), Irredeemable (superhero turned supervillain, seriously there's no going back for the guy) and Thief of Thieves (master thief tries to go straight, but his son's wahala messes that up. Ongoing, AMC will be making a tv series out of it eventually...it did take them forever to do Walking Dead...)

I'm surprised you're a fan of DCU, I thought you were Miss Marvel. I'd use to watch the 90's Spidey(spectacular spiderman I think) too, I was young then, probably 4, even watch every episodes of the fantastic 4 and first season of Wolverine and the X-men before them crazy producers pulled the strings on both shows.... arrggghhhh HULK MAD!!!!

DC have a rather decent animation collection, Timm & Dini did a rather fantastic thing with the DCAU, they did good, so one has to enjoy a masterpiece when one sees one.

Ya me too, even though I totally hated son of batman and throne of Atlantis... there are two other JLA movies that were released this year and I'd watch them before this week runs out. seems DC is on a spree

anyway I wish they'd just continue ma favorite comic team series; Young Justice... killing time with Ultimate Spider-man tho

I stopped with the end of the original DCAU (I watched all (including the films) except Static Shock), those cartoons own me. I keep hearing good thing about Young Justice, then how the network killed it because they didn't want girls to watch their show or some equally stupid shtako.

The last marvel animated TV show I watched was Marvel: Anime, simply because it was on Crackle. I miss the 90s X-Men & Spidey animated series, after the way they ended the Spidey one with the clone saga and Mary Jane still lost I kinda dropped them. Although, X-Men Evolution & Wolverine and the X-Men did catch my attention.

Thanks, I've been lurking a bit in the gaming section. Oh Korra, I've already rewatched the whole series again. I might be tempted to find my ATLA DVDs and start from the beginning again.

Just watched Focus at the cinema, not a bad film, we certainly had a few laughs. Finally saw the advert for John Wick - it looks so sweet, remind never to kill a guy's dog.

Prince of Persia wasn't so bad.

I still prefer my car racing games like Asphalt 6 (haven't found any that beats it) for some reason I dislike need for speed.

You forgot to mention God of war. I gave up on it. I think I kept playing Prince of Persia cos of his body

PS: I have been searching for a particular game called Doom. Please mention me if you have it.

I've played every God of War game (except Betrayal & Ghost of Sparta), my love for Kratos & his brand of carnage is epic. It's been a long time since I've played Doom (I believe it was the original one on PC (DOS), yup a very long time), can't really help you there.
