Pastors In Nevada have been clamouring for this Opening for weeks and it isn't no bad idea it's coming at this time.. Maybe it's better we learn to live with it, South Dakota never went for lockdown and it was only 4 positive cases out of every 100,000 test run in the last few weeks.. But the pure truth is, Opening up these religious places doesn't make Trump, Godly, Dude needs to Up his game and forget about cheap talks and attacking journalists and political opponents |
Islam › "Observe Eid-El-Fitri Prayers At Home" Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Tells Muslims Again by CapitalHYC(op): 5:01am On May 22, 2020 |
Godwin Isenyo, Kaduna
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has asked Nigerian Muslims to observe the congregational prayers for this year’s Eid-el-Fitri in their homes.
This year’s Eid-el-Fitri to mark the end of the Ramadan amid coronavirus outbreak is slated for Saturday or Sunday and the Sultan had urged Muslims to look out for the sighting of the moon.
Abubakar, who is the leader of Nigerian Muslims, also suspended all prayers, gatherings in the outskirts of towns and cities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sultan, who spoke through the JNI Secretary-General, Dr Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, in a statement in Kaduna, however, noted that in states where government had reached decision to mark the Eid-el-Fitri, Muslims should observe social distancing, wear face masks and use hand sanitisers provided for worshippers to check the spread of the COVID-19.
The Sultan also warned Muslim leaders against unguarded utterances for the overall interests of the Nigerian Muslim community.
The statement read in part, “The Jama’atu Nasril Islam under the leadership of His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, Sultan of Sokoto, in a mandate to the JNI Fatwa Committee, under the leadership of Sheikh Sheriff Ibrahim Saleh Alhusainy, CON, to come up with Fatwa regarding the year 2020 ‘Eid-el-Fitr prayer, and the committee after due consultations, as well as considerations of the current state – COVID-19 pandemic and the serious threat it poses to life, reached the following decisions:
“‘Eid-el-Fitr congregation in the outskirts of towns and cities should be temporarily suspended.
“That the said ‘Eid-el-Fitr Prayer be observed at home with family members or alone at home.
“However, in states where governments have reached concrete decisions to observe the Eid-el-Fitr prayer, based on their medical experts advice, strictest measures of distancing, face masks and sanitisers be taken to protect worshipers. In this case, neighborhood mosques can be utilised if it becomes necessary.
“Ulama should fear Allah, the Most High and be mature enough in guarding their utterances and actions for the overall interest of the Deen and the Ummah
The JNI statement added, “Nigerian Muslims are therefore called upon to reflect their minds to the good virtues of the month of Ramadan and keep to its teachings all through their respective lives, as the Lord of Ramadan is still and shall remain the Lord of other months, above all keeps the records of our actions and inactions. More so, Muslims are reminded to keep to the ordinances of the glorious Qur’an, for the prestige of the Muslim Ummah.
“JNI wishes all Muslim faithful an accepted Ramadanand successful ‘Eid-el-Fitr.” https://punchng.com/observe-sallah-prayers-at-home-sultan-tells-muslims-again

Politics › Bayelsa Relaxes Social Gathering Order, Raises Number To 200 by CapitalHYC(op): 4:53am On May 22, 2020 |
Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has agreed to allow churches with big auditoriums to have not more than 200 members during Sunday services.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Chairman of the state COVID-19 Task Force’s sub-committee on churches, Pastor Samuel John-Peters.
Two weeks ago, Diri directed that big churches could accommodate 50 worshippers during services, while small churches could have 20.
John-Peters said churches must ensure that their members observe physical distancing.
He said it was also compulsory for churches to provide hand sanitisers, running water and soaps at their entrances, and ensure the use of face mask by all worshippers.
He, however, said the governor had not given any directive pertaining to midweek activities, but that “the 8pm to 6am curfew is still in force.”
John-Peters advised pastors to strictly comply with the rules and regulations guiding safety under the pandemic. https://punchng.com/bayelsa-relaxes-social-gathering-order-raises-number-to-200/?fbclid=IwAR2sCFy0c3idfgXMYeZSjIWurAvOwlZYRpeC2npFlYdiuo71h36dbjzMj3g

Politics › Agboola Ajayi: More Troubles For Ondo Deputy Governor by CapitalHYC(op): 9:30am On May 06, 2020 |
Things have fallen apart between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Agboola Ajayi. The governor is seeking re-election. The disagreement centres around the deputy governor’s governorship ambition. Will Agboola run against his boss at the primary? OSAGIE OTABOR asks.
IT is no longer news that Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi is no longer in the know on how Ondo State is being run. Things have fallen apart between him and his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN). As a result, Ajayi is no longer seen at public functions.
The two of them are at loggerheads over an alleged betrayal of trust on the part of the latter. Ekiti State’s Governor Kayode Fayemi has tried to intervene without success. Since their quarrel was made public, Ajayi has however kept sealed lips.
He has refused to speak on the matter. His refusal to state his own side of the story seemed to have caused more trouble for him, as many of his loyalists are drumming for war.
Indications emerged recently that the deputy governor planned to defect to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as his campaign posters and jingles, flooded the social media and some areas around Akure metropolis.
But, Ajayi disowned the posters and video bearing his name and picture, saying they did not emanate from him. Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Babatope Okeowo, Ajayi said he is still a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has not declared any governorship ambition.
He said the poster and video were the handiwork of some characters that are bent on creating disharmony in the political space of Ondo State.
Ajayi said: “Recall that a WhatsApp’s group titled ‘Agboola Ajayi 4 Sure 2020’ was created last year by Omobone Tunde to champion the governorship ambition of the deputy governor.
“The man in question has denied having anything to do with the WhatsApp’s group. The deputy governor has also said these characters who see blackmail and propaganda as legitimate tools would paste his governorship posters. Once again, the deputy governor did not authorize the purported video or any poster that may emanate from these people.”
Last week, the political camp of the deputy governor was enmeshed in crisis of confidence as some of his associates discovered that many of them were possibly deceived to support his candidacy.
About five of them uncovered that the deputy governor promised all of them that he would make them his running mates if he clinched the party’s ticket ahead of the October 10 governorship election.
Those who spoke said Ajayi also approached a top member of Governor Akeredolu’s cabinet and promised him the deputy governorship slot.
The sources named others approached by Ajayi to include a former Commissioner for Urban Planning, Solagbade Amodeni, who was sacked last year by Akeredolu, a former member of the House of Representatives members, Abiola Makinde amongst others.
They claimed that many of the deputy governor’s associates were unhappy over his alleged romance with the PDP and his inability to inform them about it what they said angered them most was the report that he prostrated to beg Governor Akeredolu at the instance of Governor Fayemi.
Another aide said Ajayi has told some of his allies and aides that he would not run with Governor Akeredolu for a second term in office over irreconcilable differences.
The source said: “The matter is now worrisome. It is now an open secret that the deputy governor had promised too many political associates the deputy governorship slot in order to elicit their supports in his political battle against Akeredolu.
“As at now, the issue of running mate, if not properly managed, may leave the camp thoroughly fragmented. His political associates, who he had secretly assured the deputy governorship slot at different occasions are now mindful of future dealings”
Also, some of Ajayi’s supporters might have drawn a battle line with him over “political misconception issues”.
It was gathered that Ajayi’s supporters were shocked when they learnt that the deputy governor, last weekend, attended a reconciliation meeting with his boss at the instance of Governor Fayemi where he was said to have prostrated and sought forgiveness from Akeredolu.
The source said: “It appears the deputy Governor is not telling us the truth about happenings between him and the governor; many of us are rattled to be informed by someone who attended the meeting that he actually prostrated to beg Aketi.
“Again, a close political associate of our boss(deputy governor) who is always with us attending meetings secretly was said to have suggested the issue of impeachment move against him yet, he keeps on relating with him for reasons we don’t know.
“What will now be the fates of those of us now labelled as anti-Aketi? The impression he gave was very wrong after the meeting; and on several occasions, he had given the impression that the governor was the one begging him. We are confused as to the real situation of things because he has always told us Fayemi is the one Aketi sends to beg him.
“Our problem with him is that he is too secretive. He believes so much in the political ideology of keeping the master plans to his chest. I must confess to you that we are going back to the drawing to come out with a new strategy.
“What if Akeredolu forgives his deputy governor and decides to pick him as his running mate, what would be our political futures? These are the questions raised by some of us.
“Let me confess to you that another major controversy in the camp presently is that Ajayi has failed to open up to us about his romance with some PDP leaders both in the state and at the National level. He may be nursing the fear that some of us may refuse to join him to PDP.
“Our initial plan was to work with all aggrieved groups in the APC to deny Akeredolu the return ticket. In our camp, Ajayi is our choice to replace his boss and we are very sure that with all our political strategies, he will surely clinch the APC ticket but with the way things are now, Ajayi’s political move is unpredictable.”
The source also added that some of the young minds in their group were behind the campaign video and posters of the deputy governor which littered the social media recently.
He said those young minds must have, out of anger and desperation to pressurised him to move on, deliberately leaked the video which the deputy governor had directed them to keep till the appropriate time.
The source added that the uncertainty and the clandestine move of Ajayi were what informed the action of those who leaked his campaign videos and poster when the rumour of his reconciliation meeting with the governor was turning out to be true.
Ajayi could not be reached for comments. His Chief Press Secretary, Babatope Okeowo, could not also be reached for comments. Another aide who pleaded anonymity described the allegations as tissues of lies. https://thenationonlineng.net/more-troubles-for-ondo-deputy-governor/amp/

Celebrities › Clarence Peters: How Picture Kodak Died, Hospital Thought She Had COVID-19 by CapitalHYC(op): 9:52pm On May 04, 2020 |
Nigerian video director, Clarence Abiodun Peters, has finally spoken about the death of professional dancer, Love Divine known as Video Vixen, Picture Kodak at his residence. He revealed through his social media page on Monday morning, giving account of the sad incident. Peter said, he was not physically in the same room as Picture Kodak but in the same building. He said it was a few moments after that they called his attention to what happened. He also mentioned that no one has been arrested in connection to the dancer’s death. He said he was only called by the Police for interrogation. His words: “On the 29th of April 2020, Love Divine Ike (Picture Kodak) was in the dance studio, on the premises of Capital Dreams Pictures, with 5 other team members and myself – 7 people in total. “At about 7:30 pm on the same day, while in another office – a building beside the dance studio, on the same premises, some people who were said to be with Love Divine at the time, rushed in and called my attention to the fact that Love Divine had collapsed. “We immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital, which refused to let us into their premises, let alone admit her. They assumed she was a Covid-19 patient.“We tried, but we were not able to gain entry into a second hospital. We eventually got her to a third hospital where she was pronounced dead 30 minutes after arrival. “I was not physically in the same room as her when the incident occurred, and when I inquired, I was told by those present at the scene that Love Divine, while taking a break from the dance session, was sitting on one of the metal sliding door rails, charging and using her phone plugged to an extension box. “The witnesses didn’t realize anything was wrong until they saw she had laid down, and they noticed smoke coming from her chest area. “She was said to be electrocuted, her phone was found on her chest, with severe burn marks, and the phone’s imprint on her chest. “The witnesses were taken to the Ojodu Police Headquarters straight from the hospital where statements were taken and the phone (which had traces of burnt flesh on it) was deposited. “The following day, the Police conducted an examination of the body and were taken to the scene of the incident for further examination. “The Police are currently carrying out a full-scale investigation into the events that occurred, and an autopsy will be carried out, with the full permission and consent of her family. “Please note that no one has been charged or arrested, by the Police. The witnesses and I willingly made ourselves available to the Police and we have all pledged our full co-operation, through every part of this process. I will be helping out in every possible capacity.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wp4LzDAFG/?igshid=1lstt73t6qiap

Broad Street, Lagos Island. The building on the left is Barclays Bank Ltd Kakawa Branch. In 1972, the Federal Government of Nigeria acquired 51.67% ownership of the bank, leaving Barclays Bank Plc. of London with 40% ownership. In 1979, that 40% was sold to Nigerian individuals and businesses to comply with recently enacted banking and investment laws. The bank changed its name to Union Bank of Nigeria plc to reflect its new ownership structure. On the right is British Petroleum (BP) building whose 20% equity interest in the Shell‐BP Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria was taken over in 1979 because of Britain's decision, under the new Conservative PM Margaret Thatcher, to allow BP to sell crude oil to South Africa. Occupying the ground floor of BP House is Allen's Motors (J. Allen & Co Ltd) which was Ford Motors exclusive dealer in Nigeria.
