What is the real purpose of the Western media in doing so? Well, the answer is simple. They seek to smear China's image and contain Sino-African cooperation. Thanks to the rapid advancement in Sino-African relations, some Westerners want to try and disrupt the momentum.
In a broader sense, the accusations of neocolonialismare an extension of the West's desire to contain the"China threat".
Today, the mentality and behaviors of neocolonialism still exist in modern international relations, but they have nothing to do withChina. The fact is that, in thename of cooperation with Africa, some Western forces are paying lip service to supporting economic development in Africa, but they continue to use Africa as their raw materials supplier.
However china on its own part have been seriously, both secretly and publicly asserted its political and media presence in africa, with its recent introduction of China times African edition among other political and media infrastructure aimed at bringing china much closer to africa. China currently is the africa's strongest trading partner thereby influencing the trade power of african countries. OBAMA on few days tour in africa bluntly refused to visit nigeria and other african countries who have multilateral,bilateral or trade ties with china, making it clear that he was against chinese development of africa.
