striktlymi: Good evening Capnd,

I believe you are misunderstanding what statistics is meant to show. Statistics has nothing to do with what people in the west think or want to believe but it makes do with the facts on the ground.

Statistics is actually a relative measure and does not claim that what it shows depicts the reality on the ground for the most part. If stastics says that 80% of Nigerians are living below the poverty level, then the appropriate questions should be: 1) What defines the poverty level? 2) What is the test population? 3) Who were the respondents to the survey carried out? etc.

In the case of Nigerians earning say 100 dollars a day. Statistics is not saying that Nigerians are actually earning that. This would be silly cause we know that Dangote alone earns weigh more than that. But statistics only presented an avearge measure which is relative and only shows that the distribution of the wealth of the Nation is greatly skewed to favour but a few.

Thank you!
nice one bro, at least you are among the educated ones in Nairaland. But the truth is, i know statistics is a measure of the average, but even so, the west often inflate/deflate figures to suit their needs! I have been working on this project for a long time, and the project is to find out an estimate of Nigerians that spend more than #157 or $1 a day, and so far i have discovered that more than 50% of Nigerians live above the poverty line as of now, am sure when am finished it wil be up to 65% to 85% above poverty line, yet the west claims 75-80% are below poverty line due to estimates taken about 13 years ago! I will publish my statistics when am through. Thanks.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 8:51am On Feb 17, 2013
Msauza: The truth is this exercise will cripple the economy of Nigeria. Nigeria should start to learn to promote local companies.
no. It wont! There however several indigenous or local companies operating and also about to operate here, i was only using the foreign companies to illustrate a greater propability of a possible drastic decline in revenue generated by nigerian based South African companies.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 7:05pm On Feb 16, 2013
Msauza: That will only happen when the current generation is dead and buried. It will take hundreds of years for that dream to be fully realised. Remember, SA companies in Naija account to over $50 billion of GDP and as such it will also benefit South Africa indirectly. There is a high possibility that this index can hike even further as SA companies start to show up in Nigerian market.
yea right! Ur analysis is almost true; i.e the fact that there are many SA companies here, but have you ever wandered if there is truely going to be a hike in future? NOooo . . . The current administration has been making progress in inviting other foreign companies especially of chinese, japanese, indonesian and british origin to the country, which wil create a virtual competition between the SA Companies and the asian and european giants! For instance mtn is facing a strong hatred by nigerians from recent survey from Nigerian bereau of statistics, which projects a possible future decline in customers, also brtish communication company UK TELECOM, have stated plans to operate in the country with call and data charges of over 65% lower than others, projecting a future hike in their user base if established . . . More and more companies are currently targeting nigeria economy because of its huge ecomomic potential, mainly due to our balloning population. Thanks Mr.MSAUZA
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 6:43pm On Feb 16, 2013
andrewza: Better milltary, econmic and diplomatic ties.
wrong, americans are very tactical when it comes to military, ecomomic and diplomatic issues, you honestly espect the US to block oil supply to its own citizens? Even so, what of china and india? The ecowas? Blocking the sea route will only put SA On the enemy side, from a possible western or west african military intervention, we supply the bulk of oil this countries use, and any attempt to cut the oil routes will warrant serious military aggression. Wars are not won only with submarines, or automated rocket launchers, you allies, tacties, labour force, experience, knowlege of the enemy etc. In a possible war warranting blocking of nigerian oil routes, SA WILL DEFINITELY BEAR THE BRUNT. Thanks andrewza.

Any statistical analysis from the West is always surely an engineered piece of propaganda, but in this situation it is surely a Fallacy of hasty generalization! Imagine the west saying over 75 percent of Nigerians live with less than 147 naira a day? I will ever continue researching to prove all this western statistics null and void

I will continously say that Ghanians and SA zulus are seeing nigerians as "IMPERIALIST IN THE MAKING". I trust our igbo ethnic the will keep going, but this type the will start manufacturing and whole, nigerians are slowly taking over their economy and their GDP is contributed partly by nigerian traders! GO TRADERS, KUDUS TO U! !

If we cut our oil and gas supply to them i wander what thd wil live on. Mtcheew . . . .!

andrewza: How you going to get here. You struggling to maintain your forces in malil.
struggling to?=? Who said we are struggling to? Do you knw how many billions our FG have contribute to mali peace goal? Billions which even faced critism? When we single handedly deployed and maintained 15,000 troops in liberia and serria loene, did we struggle? When we deployed "blue berets" to sudan did we struggle? When we deployed 5,609 blue berets to un missions to did we struggle? When we wasted billions of dollars to support south african blacks, did we struggle? dnt just let me keep going! SA WITH IT 89,535 military and paramilitary cant do us no shit bro,so go back to your drawing board!

snydergp: That's exactly what fascinates me about the Nigerian Brain u all think that u can acquire such a capability within months while even ur own commanders know it takes years to acquire it and u need the technology testing of such systems first needs to mature before u can truly implement them on any defense system and that's a FACT.

Sometimes it really seems u Nigerian commentators here don't think before u respond to anything u just write what ur PATRIOTIC BRAIN tells u at that moment.

Stop acting like Amateurs it only dilutes the hole Thread PLEASE!!!
really? Belive me am laughing in swahili . . . . Your fellow retardeen says the would put a blockade . . . Hahahaha! Let me tell you, we dont even need the Nigerian armed forces to unplug your sory asses, even boko-boys can clear the route!!! Imagine SA turning to mali with angry "boko-boys" deployed by terrorist, we dont even need to deploy are troops there!
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Journalists Brutalised By South African Policemen by Capnd143(m): 10:51am On Feb 14, 2013
andrewza: We don't see you has "IMPERIALIST IN THE MAKING" there are no nigerian copertions or buissness in SA we have never seen any milltary action from you down here or any thing to show for your so called power.

You could try but such a wide and open law suite would fail. Best is to press charges on the cops who did the assualt. You could win illeagal dention, discrimtion, assualt, intmdation.
lol . . .! You said you havnt seen our " military action" well thankGOD you havnt, and i tell you surely, if not for the fact that nigerians are generaly not war driven or war intensive nation, then u would have felt the wrath of "the angry birds". You think owning a 3 submarines and missiles, plus some armament and birds is gonna give you assurance of defeating Nigerians, then you are in the stone Age. We have the resources we only nid to utilize it and use it smoke your sorry asses. If i had been the president, i would have answered with military actions!

Desdola: I still believe this wld not stop our so called politicians to seek medical attention abroad. To me he should rather focus on the existing federal hospital and try to upgrade them to international standard or if d project is to go on, it should be done in each geo political zone.
who cares if it does stop them bro! As far as them give us well equipped hospital with state of the art facilities, them even fit travel to the moon for small tin like headache, i dnt care!! At list those ranting SA and Gh@**ans go keep mute!

They raped someone last night in my area huh And they murder people for no damn reason. They don't value life at all. They deserve to be separated from humans
now, thats the spirit! Fuc.Kk SA! Bleep Diplomacy! FG Needs to push this beyond lines! Attacking the jornalist who are the voice of the people means attacking the whole nigerian nation!!! , it means waging a silent war against our dear nation! If it means fighting back with military actions then let it be! DOWN to SA

[b]With nigeria's ever ballooning population and development potential especially in ict, the south africans and the ghanians are seeing nigerians as IMPERIALIST IN THE MAKING, so i wouldnt blame them a lot, its jealousy! As for the brutality poured on our journalist, i strongly go for pressing charges against the entire South african police force for voilation of human right! This is pure hatred!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 7:44pm On Feb 13, 2013
andrewza: What this mob going to do. March down south. In a straight out naval battel in the high seas no sub shara african navy could beat SAN.
well i laud your patriotism! But my freind, in times of war in a country like nigeria, anything and everything is possible! The revenue we make from oil per year, in case of a possible war treat, is enough to fund acquisition of anti-subs and anti-ships armament!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 7:26pm On Feb 13, 2013
andrewza: Yes that what I am saying. Not saying it it would be a push over but SAN could take on every west coast navy in a high sea battel. In a close in inshore battel NN holds the edge but at the high seas we hold the cars.
no harm meant, but i wander what is going on in your SA brain, so you honestly think NN will give you a sweet welcome? And the ecowas will jubilate with you, after blocking a main ecowas linked commercial route? Well, i pray that day doesnt come, because surely the south afriques would have tested the wrath of the youths of the most populous black nation . . .
PoliticsRe: Mark : Nigeria Has Less Friends In Africa by Capnd143(m): 6:17pm On Feb 13, 2013
When will we youths who claim to know the way out ever rise up to this challenges facing our country? When the leaders have all gone beyond red lines, do we still sit and pray things get better while the leaders keep loating?

i can remember that memorable day when fellow christians brothers formed a symbolic shield around muslims while the prayed during the fuel subsidy protest, who on earth who have thought would have been possible? Its we the youths that first need to mobilize ourselves through all possible channels and work together to influence the decisions of the Government!

*There are many revolutionary movement i currently know of, but the problem is their coming together to achieve the ultimate goal! There are many Nigerians who are willing the effect the change, but who is going to make the first move? If this under-groups come together, indeed anything and everything is possible, i know of a lot of them and who ever whishes to see a new nigeria' by being a part of this movement should contact me! We just need coperation among the youths and then Nigeria can truely assume its place as Giants of Africa and Imperialist in the making!GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
