Politics9th NASS Leadership: We Are Not Part Of Invisible Meeting Held By South East -- by captaincaleb(op): 2:36pm On May 16, 2019
NYCN UPDATE:

NASS LEADERSHIP: National Youth Council of Nigeria, SouthWest distance itself from invisible meeting held by South East.

Vice President Southwest, Saliu Adekunle warns South East to take regional issues to their regions, not to the centre.

The Press Release which emanated from the NYCN Deputy President Comr. Innocent Nduanya, with regards to the National Assembly Leadership, came as a surprise to the hierarchy of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). The said release sought to call President Muhammad Buhari's attention, in seeking leadership slot. It should be noted that Comr. Innocent Nduanya who hail from South East, is driven by his personal agenda in the shadow of NYCN.

The Youth Council is non-political. Notably from their point of view, it is clearly that their decision is regional ethnocentric and not from the NYCN headquarter as claimed. No meeting whatsoever was held to arrive at such aired decisions. NYCN South East should sort its affair in their region to avoid ethnical issues within the Youth Council or beyond. The youth council is nationalistic and tribal sentiments has no place with us.

OUR POSITIONS

1. "By Nigerian Constitution, our leaders are aware of what is required of them, regardless of their political interests, which we don't expect to marred the nomination of the leadership of the Upper Chamber.

2. "The party’s leadership must take unprejudiced steps to provide an equitable zoning arrangement for the incoming 9th National Assembly leadership.

3 "And what is important to Nigerians is the emergence of a tenacious leadership, that will ensure good governance, which is expected to yield great fortune for the country.

"We urge the public to disregard such reports suggesting that the National Youth Council of Nigeria as a body had settled for a particular aspirant for any leadership position at 9th Assembly. In party affairs, you budge alone without dragging the NYCN to it. The youth council wasn't established to be fencing support for political parties, but affairs of Nigerian Youths at all levels, be it Federal, State or Local's, which is the ultimate objective.

"NYCN Southwest encourages the Presidency and APC to support the best candidate for National Assembly Leadership Positions with merits, without race, region, tribe and religion among others. The only one thing we are seeking as a National body is the inclusions of Youth in governance. Thus, we appeal to the Presidency, and Southwest Governors to appoint more agile, willing and qualified youths into leadership positions across board.

"The Youth Council should be given a well-defined aperture to allow our Youth make unique impact in this new regime, by contributing immensely & positively to all communities, which we are hopeful will help in strengthening the communities by eradicating unforeseen lapses in the country. By building our Youth, we are indeed building the Nation."

PoliticsHistory As Southwest Produces First ALGON National President by captaincaleb(op): 9:09am On Apr 05, 2019
The representative of Lagos State in the All Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Kolade Alabi has been elected the National President of the association.
The election was conducted by Odunayo Ategbero-led Board of Trustees (BoT) in conjunction with the members of the Transition Management Committee (TMC) in Abuja.

Alabi emerged victorious after his challengers from Akwa Ibom and Delta states stepped down.
He becomes the first person in the Southwest to emerge National President in the 20 years of the association.

At the Chelsea Hotel in the Central Area of Abuja where he was sworn in, Alabi thanked ALGON members for trusting him with the leadership of the association.
He promised not to betray their trust by moving the association to the next level.

He said: “The sustainable legacy that our out-going executives are leaving behind is well taken with “Applied Wisdom” in every sense of it and will serve as a lamp of experience for the next generation of leaders of ALGON.

“In the light of the foregoing, it is with utmost temerity and joyful heart that I accept to serve as elected the President of the ALGON.

“Within the political space of our dear nation and having given me the opportunity to steer the ship of ALGON, the kernel of advancing our cause towards an enviable trajectory is my vision and an unbiased or subjugated relationship is my mission.”

He promised to liaise with the state governments to ensure a smooth transition of one council administration to another.

“The panacea to the above challenge is to liaise with the State Governments continually so that we can transit effectively from the tenure of one administration to the next without acrimony. With this mindset and notwithstanding our diversity, we shall align, co-operate and collaborate with our respective state authorities for the general advancement of our people,” he said.

To achieve this, he vowed to be guided by “our collective understanding that the following concepts regardless of our generational bracket ‘particularly as your President, I will always initiate, create opportunities to listen to divergent views, dynamic and adopt the principle of inclusion, representatives in action as well as decision-making committees.
“Neither will I marginalise nor gag anyone for that matter. More importantly, l will be flexible with conventions and traditions. The need, to move ALGON forward is key, instinctive and already placed in the front burner,” he said.

Ategbero congratulated Alabi, who he described as a credible person capable of leading ALGON to the next level.

He urged him not to disappoint the association.
Other members of the executive include Mohammed Mahmoud Aliyu from Kaduna as the Deputy President, Ezekiel Pabuet (Plateau) – Auditor, Sani Hassan Dogarai (Gombe) – Treasurer, Toafik Isa (Kogi) – Legal Adviser, Frank Archibong (Akwa Ibom) – Financial Sec and Augustine Mbagwu (Imo) – Publicity Secretary.

PoliticsForget The Past, Work For Buhari, Sanwo-olu’s Victory, Ambode Urges Epe Division by captaincaleb(op): 7:52pm On Dec 08, 2018
PRESS RELEASE

Forget The Past, Work For Buhari, Sanwo-Olu’s Victory, Ambode Urges Epe Division

…Says Lagos Stands To Gain More By Voting All APC Candidates

…Lagos Gov, A Man With Large Heart - Hamzat

Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Saturday urged voters in Epe Divison to vote enmasse for candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) across board to ensure the continuation of the good works of the party both in the State and in the country at large.

Governor Ambode, who spoke during a meeting with leaders of APC in the division which was called at his instance and held at Jubilee Chalet in Epe, said it was time for the people to put events before and after the APC governorship primaries in the State which produced Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the gubernatorial candidate of the party behind them, and truly unite for the party’s victory.

Addressing the gathering which was well attended by all APC leaders in the division, Governor Ambode said it became imperative for him to meet with them to let them know that all members must submit to the decision of the party.

“All of us are brothers and sisters because this is a close-knit community. It is now time for us to work together for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and election of Mr. Sanwo-Olu because Epe cannot be left behind.

“I know that in view of what happened, some people are still aggrieved but what I want you to know is that there is no way PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) will work for the development of our division like APC. We are also all aware that for the past sixteen years of PDP, they did not do anything in Epe division and it is only the APC that has been doing something for Lagos and for the country.

“I want to assure you that Epe will benefit more if we vote for APC. All my achievements in the last three and half years will be improved upon if Sanwo-Olu wins and so I want to urge you all to come out and vote for APC because that is how we can secure the future of our children and this division.

Also speaking at the meeting, Deputy Governorship candidate of APC in the State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat thanked Governor Ambode and all the leaders in the division, saying the Governor displayed unusual maturity and character which eloquently confirmed that he is a man with large heart.

“I want to thank Governor Ambode for being a man with a large and great heart. What you are doing is unusual and I want to assure you that you have a future and that future will be very soon. We will do everything to protect your interest and that of Epe division.

“Governor Ambode has done his best and we will do our best to continue his legacies and build on what the Governor has done to further develop our dear State,” Hamzat said.

Among those that attended the meeting are Hamzat, Senator representing Lagos East at the upper legislative chamber, Gbenga Ashafa; member of House of Representatives representing Epe, Hon Wale Raji; Chief Lanre Razaq, former Speakers - Adeyemi Ikuforiji and Jokotola Pelumi; Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, among others.

EducationStudent International Day Celebration, Let Mourn Instead --- Caleb by captaincaleb(op): 10:21am On Nov 17, 2018
Student International Celebration, Let Mourn Our Education Sector instead.----Caleb

The student body of all various tertiary institution across Nigeria still stand for one voice when it comes to National Education plight and any attempt to use a divide and rule way is dead on arrival.

Recall that few days ago the National Association of Nigeria Student (NANS) pledged with the Federal Government to have a lasting solution to the striking lecturers in other not to make the student and the academic calendar suffer a big blow for their rift, just yesterday 16th November ASUU met with the Federal Government in a round table discussion as regard the distasteful strike but to my greatest surprise the meeting ended in deadlock while strike continues. We the Nigeria student have been seeing reasons to celebrate annual International Day in the past with various academic capacity but this year should be a mourn day by all concern, progressive and patriotic student instead of celebration as usual.

May I remind you greatest Nigeria Student that back in 2013/2014 academic session the College of Education Union (COEASU) went on unexpected strike to welcome fresher's on campus across 47 colleges of Education Institutions and to put on hold all academic activities regardless to the student disadvantage. May I continue to remind you the bitter strike which lasted for good 5 months Plus. My greatest concern now is that this same College of Education Lecturers has been on strike for some months before the proposed NLC strike and ASUU Ongoing strike, but the Federal government is not even giving them full attention as expected, probably I will say because they are college of education.

My question is when is Federal Government going to put a lasting solution to the Education sector if indeed Education is the best legacy as we all claim.

Indeed the challenges of Nigeria Education sector a call for national mourning, permit me to continue my tenses with fact why student need not to celebrate this day 17th November 2018 international day. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) declared nation wide strike of all state and Federal Universities in Nigeria, well according to the president of the Union Prof. Ogunyemi he said the Union is fighting for some memorandum of understanding agreed by the Federal Government in 2017 but not implemented till date, lack of proper funding among others.

I will conclude by saying the government is not interested in public universities as the children of the top politicians and rich men in the society patronize private universities Nigeria at the detriment of public institutions in our dear country, they promise us good Education but indeed it is good education from their view not ours

I am indeed sad not because am not within the four wall of classroom but because the strike has increase the number of undergraduate students in the street ahead of the forthcoming general election to be use as thugs because of their joblessness and out of school medicine.

We the student are not happy until the strike is put to hold and the government provide a lasting solution to the welfarism of the universities across all states in Nigeria.

After this snippet tenses I hereby call on all Patriotic Nigeria Student leaders and students to ignore International Celebration Day let mourn our Education status in Nigeria because anything that happen today becomes history to tell tomorrow.

NLC and Federal Government on minimum wages saga, watch out.

I remain my humble self Caleb Olonitola

KOLADE ALABI CONGRATULATE NIGERIAN ON INDEPENDENCE DAY, THANKED BARIGA PEOPLE FOR THEIR SUPPORT

Today, 1st of October marked the independence day of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

When the founders of Nigeria assembled dispassionately declared Nigeria's Independence to the world, and the purpose of Nigerian people to the Creator, they dreamt of a Nation that will rise to the fore front of global excellence.

It is quite understandable that our progression has been foot dragging which occur as a result of mismanagement of the affairs of the Nation by some of our past leaders.

God has eventually given us a leader in person President Muhammadu Buhari to pilot the affairs of this Nation to the desired direction.

What has gone wrong over the years can't easily be corrected, this is where we all have to come together to support with our unequivocal prayers and supports for the administration.

To my dear people of Bariga, I cherish and appreciate your support from the beginning of my administration till this very moment. The progress of Bariga is dear to my heart .

“The labor of our past leaders should not be in vain. As we rejoice today, let’s remember them and pledge to always strive hard towards upholding the freedom and unity they fought for."

Do have a wonderful Independence Day.

The over 13 roads that were completed are to make roads network easily accessible for residents and visitors of Somolu. From Ige street at Ijebutedo to Onafowokan street, the Community Development Committee (CDC) are protecting government infrastructures as they truly belong to the community and must be protected.

The lost glory of government schools are now rejuvenating to make us give qualitative support to schools and pupils. Be rest assured that we won’t relent, we will give more to the schools to enrich our children educationally.

The elderly people welfare packages are increasing periodically as our senior citizens are smiling home with their respective packages. It is our duty to give to you, it is your right to receive from us.
Your supports are enormous for our Somolu to thrive has strengthen us to do more in the moral and financial assistance to solve medical and domestic challenges.

Personnel of Police Stations in Pedro, Onipanu, Alade and Ilaje are receiving the required support and monthly peace and security meeting with the executive and management of the local government.

With the collaboration we have with Wave Academy, over 500 youths had benefited from the employability training. Over 600 youths also benefited from the free Google Digital Skill training which most beneficiaries would have received their certificates via email from Google Inc.
As we are embarking on a journey into another electioneering period, let’s shun violence and report cases of such to the appropriate quarters to arrest such situation before its escalated. Let’s be civic, polite and law abiding citizens of Nigeria.

As the Executive Chairman of our dear local government, more is expected from us from the grassroot, we won’t fail you. We, together, will make Somolu to be great.
