Huge ‘lung’ made of 1,500 people sets new world record A giant lung formed by over 1,500 people has just set a new Guinness World Record in Beijing for “the largest image of a human organ made by humans.” With the annual World COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) Day fast approaching, the giant lung was formed amid smog at the Beijing Garden Expo Park to raise public awareness of lung health. The participants were dressed in red and blue. “The ‘lung lobe’ is [created by people dressed in] red and the 'tube' is blue. The red color functions is a warning that more attention should be paid to lung health,” Mr Zhang, an organizer of the event, told the Beijing Youth on Monday. Statistics show the disease rate of COPD is as high as 9.9% among people aged over 40 in China.
