You can request for your contracts now...but the letter from your employer stating your salary in the past 12 months etc should be dated within 28 days from your date of application. That was the time limit when I did mine, dunno if it has changed. All the best

Good Evening my people...
Please I have a quick question.

I'm about to request a copy of my contract from my employer as well as a reference letter stating my income and to support my application for FLR (M). Just trying to put my house in order ( Avoiding last minute preparations)

Can I apply for these supporting documents from my employer now or should I wait few weeks to when i'm to submit my application?

Hi, maybe that’s a new thing they do. I did mine in November and my biometric was taken, I also got my original documents days after my biometric permit was sent to me.
obabola123:
Hello group,
Just a question- it normal for home Office to return original documents without not requesting Biometric fingerprint yet?

Saying in the letter that electronically stone in database and a decision will be made in due course

Getting to worry now

Hi, if you go through the thread, you will see a detailed list by phardey and newbie, I used exactly the documents they posted on the thread, didn’t even add anything extra and I got my visa within 4 weeks. I will advice you go through it. And you can get same day decision, it’s about 600 pounds and you need to book your appointment at least 45 days to the date you intend to submit your documents because they gets filled up quickly. All the best!!!

Hello, I will advice you book an appointment with an immigration lawyer because she hasn’t stayed in UK for her to get an extension In that category.or you go to citizen beareau for advice.
simplymine:
Good morning House,

I need the help or suggestions of the house. My wife has the spouse visa which is to expire towards the last quarter of this year. She works in Nigeria, and because of her work, she has refused to join me in the UK. This has been our issue. She's been visiting the UK and the longest she's stayed in the UK is 4months other times are three weeks, a month, sometimes two weeks. we had our child delivered in the UK, and one on the way. I believe the fear of uncertainty and not been able to get her kinda of job in the UK may be her fears of not wanting to relocate to the UK. Also she seem not to know what she wants as she still wants to renew her spouse visa despite not wanting to live in the UK. As in wanting to eat her cake and have it. Now that we are expecting an addition, I have told her that she may likely have to give birth in Nigeria. She said she wants to deliver in UK. which I may object. From my calculation she may be due to deliver nearer her visa expiration date.
I would like to know if her absence in the UK will affect her visa extension? I am aware that one has to live in the UK for a minimum of 181 days in a year. I don't know if the is application to the spouse visa extension or during the ILR. I do not want to waste my time efforts and money if her absence will affect her visa extension. I know what I went through during the initial stage while she did nothing hence she is not appreciating what she's got. Any advise will be appreciated.

Postal or In Person Application: Postal
Documents received by HO: 06 Nov 18
Payment taken: 08 Nov 18
Application deferred for further checks (in person app): N/A
Acknowledgement and Biometric enrolment Letter Received: 20 Nov 18 dated 16 Nov 18
Biometrics Enrolled on: 18 Nov 18
Text from a delivery company called DX delivery stating my BRP card will be delivered today 11th Dec 2018 at around 9am; I was so anxious had to call my boss am running late
Biometric card recieved today, date of decision was 5th of November 2018.

Still waiting for my documents to come in. I am so excited, the whole process took about 5 weeks.

Good luck to everyone!

I used exactly the documents they posted, i submbitted my application on the 3rd of November and I still haven’t gotten a response, however they already contacted me 2 weeks ago to do biometrics.
All the best.
obabola123:

Hi carphy,

I don't know if HO are dealing with a lot of applications but I am aware of an FLR (M) that I was assisting someone with that was posted August 10, fees taken next working day but acknowledgement didn't come for a while, later came dated August 23. Then no biometrics request letter till September. In the end though, the whole application was still within 8 weeks as the BRP came shortly after the biometrics just that the timeline was a bit out of synch.

My advice is to call HO. I have called them in the past by googling for their details. Try this number 0300 123 2241, I just googled it. If they can't help, they will give you the right number.

I suspect they will say the application is still within its normal timeline, so impress on them the urgency in your case and ask for your case ID or reference number, that is what your employer needs to make the necessary checks with HO. The employer check takes 5 working days I believe.

All the best.

Good morning everyone,
It’s been 3 weeks I posted my application to the home office, payment was taken following day and I still have not received my acknowledgement letter nor my sponsor’s passport returned to me. I read from phardey and newbie timeline that theirs was sent in one week.
I am at a cross road cos my visa expires in 2 days and I need to give my employer the acknowledgment letter. I need advice on what to do next? Does anyone has the contact details of the HO. Would be glad if I can get a prompt reply.
Thank you

After weeks of gathering evidences, I finally posted my application today.
I wasn’t able to include all the documents they wanted especially my children’s passport cos I vnt even applied for it. Since they are automatic British from birth I just thought no need to apply for the passports.
Only for me to see it’s a requirement.
I included a detailed cover letter explaining that they haven’t been abroad before and that was one of the reasons I never applied for any.

Wish me luck!!!

Thank you for your reply, yes I have requested for a new one, unfortunately I haven’t done the kids passport and I don’t even have a photocopy of the BC. I feel so stupid, but I have letters from NHS. Hopefully they will accept that, I will make photocopies of all documents then.
Thank you
newbie715:

I made photocopies of all documents as that was what was required but all photocopies were returned which was a bit annoying as I had to shred them all over again after the stress of the photocopy.

If I were to apply again, I'd still make copies unless someone tells me they didn't and their application was granted. So I guess it's left for you to decide.

For the BC, since there is no time to get a new one, if I were you I'd write a cover letter explicitly explaining the situation and I'd include the child's passport if there's one and all other documents like NHS letters or letter from GP/Nursery. Also, I'd start the process to get another copy in the event that Home Office writes to request it afterwards. I'd also include a photocopy of the BC if there is one.

Hi everyone,
For those that recently applied for the FLR(M). Is it mandatory to make photocopies of all documents and send it with the originals? Also, my child’s full birth certificate got missing, would it be advised to write a cover letter on that since it’s too late to get a new one, I am due to apply in 5 days.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

Does it matter dt my visa is expiring cos am scared dy might deny her since am the child cos I am thinking of using d same set of documents that am using to renew mine to do hers at the same time.

Thank you in advance for your prompt replies

Thank you so much newbie for your prompt reply, I have been really worried because we have less than a thousand pounds at the moment.
Yes we meet the requirement and will include everything. I am also using your checklist of the documents you submitted, it’s really detailed.
Thank you so much. God bless you.
newbie715:

Hi, there is no minimum balance required, just show evidence of meeting the financial requirement: payslips, letter from Employer, bank statements and remember the financial documents should be dated within 28 days of your application. All the best.

We actually meet the financial requirement but we have on going projects and our account balance is always low. Just wants to know
I will appreciate quick response because am renewing soon.

Past 12 months earnings even if you are providing just 6 months bank statements and pay slips. You must include a letter from the employer confirming you or partners annual income. If you have been employed by the same employer for more than 12 months then 6 months bank statements and/or pay slips will suffice. If employed for less than 12 months then you have to provide 12 months bank statements.

In the financial requirement, is the 18,600 requirement the earnings for the last 12 months or earning for next 12 months?

Thank you very much!

Please don't, I am in the same predicament and I am praying all goes well. I submitted general ielts for ukvi and the requirement says life skills A1 for ukvi. Each test is for different ukvi purpose. Just to be on the safe side, go and do the life skills A1, the next one is In a week. I will advise you to submit the right thing so you can sleep well at night.

Thanks a lot guys. Actually we will appeal it next week and since we aren't using original documents we plan to reapply also. That's why I want to know if it's possible we apeal and reapply at the same time. I want to know if there won't be issues if the home office finds out we are doing both at d same time since it's not listed on their website. We plan to apeal it next week and reapply in 2 weeks. Kindly share if these possible.
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by carphy: 7:36am On Nov 14, 2015
please I will like to know if I can reapply and appeal at the same time. I was denied uk spousal visa. And what are my chances. I was denied based on 2 points only 1. We didn't put my sponsor a letter of employment stating his salary etc even though we got a letter stating he is employed with them 2.and we only submitted 2 months payslip of his second job. they said we met all other requirements. Just those two evidence was d reason we were denied. Justwise and other gurus, pls advice and appealing and reapplying at d same time.
