My goal is to motivate those that may be planning to give up too soon.... While I was making that screen shot another sale just came in, I will obviously reject it because I made a mistake in the pricing, instead of $25k I put $2500 and the buyer rushed to pay ... Check the time, 8am , some minutes ago. Good luck to all ! BOOKWORMLUX:

I have not been here for sometime but would like to use this opportunity to encourage everyone. Sales will surely come, be patient! As we may all be aware, 2024 appeared really slow in terms of sales for many, my expectations were not fully met but I am still grateful to God. I like to talk about pricing when it comes to domains, from what I see here, many of us tend to quickly jump at an offer, I think if we don't appear desperate, buyers will come. This week, I sold a domain for $19,000. Before I settled for this amount I had gotten potential buyers coming with $3000, another came with $7000 offer, I rejected, something deep in me wanted me to accept, but my sales instinct told me to reject, 2 weeks later the guy came with $14,000 told him I need at least $15k, he came back thanking me for my time, no longer interested. Rather than feel bad, I moved on because I was sure that there will always be a buyer. A week later I got a message from godaddy/afternic that someone wanted to buy the name for $19k, my asking price was $24,000, told the rep to push for a higher amount, came back 2 days later that buyer insists on 19k. Didn't want to stress myself further, agreed to the sale. Things to note Buy good names, buyers will come, I try as much as possible to go for good names, my price range is usually from $20 to $2000. This domain was bought for I believe $800, I have renewed it once. Don't be desperate to sell If you are double sure you have a good name, do not be in a hurry to accept low offers, while some may be interested in buying for $10 and reselling for $100, some of us will sell way higher since we are sure of the value of the names. For me, I sell domains from high 4 figures to 5 figures. Never ever rely on Godaddy valuation. Their valuation is meant to "short change" you. Most domains I sold over $30k had valuation of $1500 to $3000 some low ball buyers will be telling you see what godaddy estimates. This piece is to encourage everyone that better days are coming, do not give up, above all BE PATIENT. |

I wonder why so many people here doubt high figure sales. I am sure there are many silent guys who make a lot of money selling domains, we just sit and watch. First I do not find it comfortable listing the name I sold in a public place like this. Just does not make sense, secondly, many of my clients pay extra to ensure you agree to an NDA. The amount alone should motivate those that wish to be motivated. In the last 6 months I have sold about 8 domain names for well OVER $150k, I will never sell a domain less than $15k. Once you make an inquiry I know you are interested for sure. I got into this business without realizing it was a business, I am still not into it full time, but I can smell a good domain name miles away, I don't mind spending a lot to acquire since I know it will be sold ultimately. For those that are struggling to sell, be patient, so long as your names are good, a buyer will always come your way. |

Thank you for your response, I got to this thread due to some events, unlike many here who are completely new to buying and selling of domains, I have been involved for many years but never really saw the 'business' side of it. Let me take time to share my experience selling 2 domains. I started getting interested in this by accident, sometime in 2021 I got a call from a godaddy rep that someone was interested in one of my domains, he said the person made an offer for $2000, jokingly I told him that people had called me for $7000 and I rejected, he said ok he would contact the buyer, never heard back from the guy for like 2 weeks. He sent me an email if I would let it go for $5000, told him NO , 5 days or so later he emailed that the buyer had agreed to pay the $7000. I asked if i will be getting exact $7k, as I did not want a single deduction. He said yes the buyer would be paying all fees. The wire transfer got to my account 2 days after I clicked "I agree" in the link he sent me. Fast forward to June 3, 2022 or there about, I checked an email I had not checked in weeks, saw an email from one company called afternic asking me if I was interested selling a 6 letter domain for a lower amount than I listed on godaddy. I listed it with no real intention of selling, just wanted to see what would happen, listed it for $18,000 over a year ago. I replied NO again as I wanted to stick to the $18k. I kept refreshing that mail nearly every 5 hrs. About 5 days later, they said your domain is sold I logged into my account and saw a totally different amount from the 18k, keep in mind these mails were all coming from the afternic company, went to the site and discovered it was owned by godaddy. I called when I figured out that these guys deducted $1000+15%, I told them I wanted to change my mind regarding the sale, he said no that I already added a buy it now price on godaddy that as a matter of fact the funds have been initiated on their end to my account. My search online brought me to this thread which led me to asking many of the questions I am asking. I became more curious after this last sale, as I am now seeing the business side of this. Now I am interested in getting deep into the business. I hope you now understand the reason for my "calm questions". therealMcCain: |
Hi guys, Is nameworth appraisal a good place to check the value of domains. I hope the experienced guys can help with this question |
Hi there, I noticed in one of your posts that you have over 1k portfolio, would it not make sense to post them on a web page and advertise the page with the hope of finding buyers. In other words set up your own market place. Just thinking, what do others think Please note, I am specifically talking about the brandable market beckplanet: |
Hi guys, I like experts here to explain something a bit confusing, I see a number of short letter domains sold for as much as 1k at auction, are these buyers end users or they are trying to sell them too ? Just here trying to learn more on this industry |
Would it not make sense to own 10 of such and list in the brandable marketplace, wait for a year or 2 and sell for upward 5 figures? fergusen: |
Hi all, What do you all think about 5 to 7 letter word domains, no number, no hyphens. For example Kazuma dot com. It means nothing but just one word Are they easy to sell ? Do they appeal to buyers, I usually see them in the range of $3k to $10k Input from experienced guys will be appreciated |
I am looking for someone that can develop an ajo type of software/platform where users can save money with other users . I seen something similar here true saver .net If you think you can build something better than above, let me know pricing and time frame I will be on this thread to respond |
