My mind was busy. Why did Farouq bring two ladies to the house? Was he planning party with them? Was he such a sex maniac?

“You're welcome, ladies,"Farouq said.

He picked two of the four packs on the table, held Hemman's hand and turned to me. "No more lonely night for you, Tayo. Juliet here is to keep you company."

He winked at me. "See you tomorrow morning."

With that, he and Hemma left the sitting-room.

I was appalled to say the least. How could Farouq arrange a lady for me without my consent? Why didn't he even hint me about it? If he had asked me, my answer would have been capital NO.

I turned to the young lady. "Er ... sorry ... Juliet, there's a terrible mistake somewhere."

“What mistake?" she asked calmly.

I shook my head. "I didn't tell Farouq that I needed any lady. I didn't say I need any companion."

She looked confused. "So, what're you saying?"

I looked confused too. "Any way," I said. "Before we go further - and that is if we will go any further - how much is your charge?"

Now, she completely looked confused.

"What! What do you mean?"

I tried to make my voice as gentle as possible. "How much do you charge for your till-day-break service?"

The confusion on her face turned to anger. "Excuse me, don't insult me. I'm not a hook up girl."

I was quite surprised. She must have seen the surprise on my face.

“I'm a student of Unilag, and a decent one at that. I only followed my friend, Hemma, because she said a friend of her boyfriend was lonely and needs a company. That's why I'm here."

I thought over what she said. Well, if Farouq arranged for her to be here just for companionship, surely, that was not bad. I relaxed my face.

“I'm sorry for the mix-up. It was just that things were not well-explained to me. Sorry, Juliet."

I smiled at her and she relaxed her face. Then, she eyed the nylon bags containing packs of food.

“If you don't mind, I'm hungry and will like to eat now."

I nodded. "Sure. Go ahead."

She took one of the packs while I took the remaining one. In the nylon was a big pack of jollof rice, a plastic of coke and another plastic bottle of water. As we ate, I felt like asking her some questions.

"What course are you studying in the university?"

“Mass communication."

“How do you find it?"

She paused to take some water. "Interesting. I enjoy the courses."

I nodded as if I agreed with her.

“What did you study in the university?" she asked me. I told her.

By the time we finished the food, I could see that she was intelligent and likeable. I however drew a line in my mind on the extent the companionship could go. Farouq came into the sitting-room with a bottle of red wine and two glasses which he placed on the table.

“For you guys," he said and left again. I allowed some minutes of rest after the food before I popped the wine and filled the glasses. I took a glass and sipped. I was not disappointed with the taste. Juliet and I continued with our chat for a long time.

Later, I was feeling sleepy and I wondered how I would go about that. Would I sleep on the same bed with my 'companion' or what? Silly question, my mind told me. Was the bed not big enough to contain the two of us? I yawned and stood up.

“I feel like sleeping."

As if on cue, she stood up too.

“Me too," she said. I proceded to the bedroom and started removing my clothes.

“I'll like to use the toilet," she said.

I pointed the place to her. I was now stripped to boxers.

My mind suddenly went to Lola. How would she feel if she should enter the bedroom this very moment? I shrugged. There was nothing to hide. Juliet was just a companion brought by Farouq, I would tell her. I could hear the shower running from the bathroom.

Farouq soon came with blanket and bedspread. He dropped them on the mattress.

“Use them," he said and left the room again.

I spread them on the bed.

Once again, Farouq was in the room. "Chioma has come. Come, let me introduce you to her."

I followed him to the sitting-room. The lady in question was a very fair lady with pretty face. She was a bit short, slim and busty. Farouq did the introduction and I tried to be as warm as possible.

Farouq gave me a pack out of the three that Chioma had bought. He winked at me as he held her left hand.

“The best place to eat this kind of food with your babe is in the bedroom. Come, Chioma."

They left the sitting-room. I sat down to eat the fried rice and chicken and to take the carbonated water that came with it. My eyes strayed to Farouq's family picture.

Didn't Chioma see that? If she did, why was she having an affair with a married man? And as for Farouq, shouldn't he be happily married? Oh, well, he was a muslim, my mind argued. I shook my head. I was not going to be unfaithful to my wife.

Yes, when I finally married Lola, my love, I would be faithful to her. I remained in the sitting room for a long time, watching the television. Farouq remained with Chioma inside his bedroom. I could imagine the licentious things the duo would indulge in.

That was their business, my mind said. I finally went to bed, dreaming of Lola. In the dream, we were on a cruise in a yatch. It was a lovey dovey scene. The following day, I woke early as usual.

By few minutes to seven, I had already dressed up. I had to wait in the sittingroom for Farouq. It was seven-thirty that he and Chioma got ready.

That day, I was busy at work. There was a press conference at the main conference hall of the NOC. It was to explain measures taken by the petroleum regulatory body on shortage of fuel supply. At the close of work, Farouq was behind the wheel to drive us home.

“Hemma is coming today," he said in excitement.

“Who's that?"

“She's another girlfriend of mine."

I was surprised. “Wow! So, you have many girlfriends!"

“Not many, actually," he said defensively. "But among them, Hemma is special. When you see her, you will agree with me that she's special. By the way, I told her about you."

“Really?"

“Yes. I told her we were colleagues in the office, and now flatmates. As I said Hemma is special."

I nodded. "Definitely, with all you have said, I'll like to meet her."

Twenty minutes later, we were at home. The guest was already in the apartment. Farouq said he gave her spare key. I was surprised we met two ladies in the sitting-room. The very fair one jumped to her feet. She went on to give Farouq a big hug.

“Hemma my darling," Farouq said as a way of greeting.

Hemma turned to the other young lady. "This is Juliet, my good friend," she introduced.

My mind was busy. Why did Farouq bring two ladies to the house? Was he planning party with them? Was he such a sex maniac?

Did I mind? I told her I would send the address and the description of how to get to the place pronto the moment our conversation was over.

"Alright, see you," she said. That was the end of the conversation. Bimpe was obviously encouraging me. I did not really mind. So, she wanted to come to my place this weekend. Good, she was welcome.
"You look happy," my thoughts were interrupted.

It was from Barbra, a colleague in the office. I didn't know she had been studying me. "Was it a babe? Have you got a new catch?" Barbra was friendly, but could be nosy. I grinned but did not utter a word. "Come on, tell me about her," she prodded. "Is she beautiful? Is she more beautiful than me?"

"She's just an old class mate," I said simply.

"I'm sure there's more to it," she countered. "Your countenance says it."

I simply shrugged off what she said. That Saturday, right from the moment I woke up, I was mindful of the fact I would be receiving an important guest that day. About noon, I decided to fry the one kilogram of chicken that I had bought. I was good in cooking and had decided to treat my guest to fried rice and fried chicken. In my small kitchen,

I whistled gently as I prepared the meal. My guest did not arrive until some minutes to three p.m. She first called to tell she was in the area. I was surprised my heart was hammering in anxiety. When she finally breezed in, I was dazzled. Her dress was simple, but every part of it accentuated her curviness and beauty.

"You look gorgeous," I could not help commenting. She smiled and gave me a peck. That was a good way to start. "You are welcome," I offered. "Please, sit down."

She looked around the sitting-room and nodded in approval. "A nice, little place you have here," she commented. That must be a great commendation coming from her.

"Thanks," I replied. We chatted about old times. We asked each other about some classmates. She did not know much about others as she went to study in university in Ghana. She told me she got her bank job some months ago and had been posted to Palm Groove branch just that week. I told her about my own job and the modest income. I asked her what drinks I could get her, but she said that could come later.

“I'm still in Lagos, for God's sake," I said. "Besides, it's very likely I will be coming home every weekend. Come on. You have to get used to not seeing me every day. Remember, you will soon start schooling in far away Ado Ekiti."

That softened her. On Monday morning, when I was leaving Ilupeju, I took a small bag in which I packed some clothes. At the close of work that day, I joined Farouq in his Honda CRV and he drove to Lekki Phase 1. The flat was on the ground floor.

“Here we are," Farouq said.

The sitting-room was large and well-furnished. He placed the picture of himself, his wife and three children in a conspicuous place.

“That one is to remind my girlfriends that I'm married," he said with a laugh.

"Come, let me show you to your room." It was a standard room with two big wardrobes.

It also had an en-suite toilet and bathroom. There was no bed but a big matress lay on the floor.

“Do you like the room?" he asked.

“Sure. Thanks so much, Farouq."

His phone rang. "Yes, Chioma. I'm at home already...yes ...okay ... hey, wait, buy three packs, my good friend is in the house... alright, see you."

He cut the line and smiled at me.

“That was Chioma, my babe," he informed. "She's on her way here. Feel at home, Tayo. You can come to the sitting-room after you have changed to casuals."

With that, he left the room. First, I had to go to the toilet to ease myself.

Thereafter, I wore casual of t-shirt and jeans. Farouq soon with blanket and bedspread. He dropped them on the mattress.

“Use them," he said and left the room again.

After about two minutes, which seemed like ages, a soft voice said: "Hello, Desire. How're you?"

I sighed again. "Hello. I was wondering if I had called the wrong number."

"Oh, no. I was busy in the kitchen. That was my brother, Mike that picked the call."

I felt relieved. "Your brother?" she laughed briefly across the line.

"Of course, that was my brother. Who else did you think it was?" "I thought it was your husband or boyfriend."

"Husband?" she sounded surprised. "No, I'm not yet married. Boyfriend? I don't need one."

Her voice oozed of conceit. My mind told me she had not changed. This was still the same snobbish Bimpe ; the same person that was behaving as if she needed no one in her life.

was glad too that she said that. We went on to chart briefly. I could sense that she wanted to be friendly with me. Well, there should be no harm in that. After about four minutes of chatting, I ended the call with a promise to call her at another time. But a part of my mind was saying I should not get carried away by her. She was a pretty and delectable lady no doubt, but her condescending attitude was a 'yellow card.'

Some days after I called, I tried to suppress the urge of calling her again. However, she called me on Thursday morning.

"Have you been so busy you forget me?" she asked as a way of greeting.

"Oh, no, I did not forget you," I replied.

"So, why didn't you call?"

"Well, it's good that you call. How are you?"

We exchanged pleasantries. "I want to know something," she went on. "Why is it that you've not changed in the last eight years?"

I was surprised at her question. "What...what do you mean?" I stuttered. "As far as I can see, you're still aloof."
Really? Was I? "I didn't get what you really mean," I said.

"Of course you know what I mean, but let's leave that for another time. By the way, where do you stay? Are living with your parents?" I gave her the correct answers. "Why don't you send the address to me? I can pay you a visit this Saturday afternoon, if you don't mind."

Did I mind? I told her I would send the address and the description of how to get to the place pronto the moment our conversation was over.

Six months after getting my current job, I was able to secure a mini flat and I moved out my uncle's house at Ikosi. Now at the age of twenty-six I would not settling down in the next couple of years. But right now, there was no lady in my life. My last girlfriend, Eniola called the relationship off about two months ago. I had thought the relationship was heading somewhere before I realized that it was not. Now, as I thought of Bimpe , I briefly wondered if ... Hey, stop your wild imagination, my mind told me. Much later in the I called the number Bimpe had given me. It rang on and on without response. Could she be busy? It was already past nine p.m. Surely, she should at home now. I sighed and decided that I would try again.

When it was quarter to ten, I called the number again. This time around, the was picked after the fourth ring.

"Hello," I said.

"Hello, yes, who's on the line?" It was the voice of a man.

My heart sank immediately. I did not even ask her if she was married. I only assumed she was not. Could this be her husband? Or her boyfriend?

"Can I be on to Bimpe ?" I said, almost plaitively. "She gave me this number this morning."

"But, who are you?" the voice demanded. I sighed.

"My name is Desire. I ..."

"Hold on," the voice interrupted. I held my breath, wondering what was going on at the end of the line. After about two minutes, which seemed like ages, a soft voice said: "Hello, Desire. How're you?"

This story came briefly before but I had to withdraw it to rewrite.

This is a branded new one.

So Much Fuss About Nothing

A Steamy Romance

Cas Nova

Desire is a fine guy with good intentions. He is feisty about life. His chance meeting with an old school mate brings a lot of passion in him. He is, unfortunately, disappointed. He meets another lady and he thinks he has got the desire of his heart after all. Again, he is bitten.

Some few minutes after eleven in the morning, I decided to go out for breakfast break. I worked for a consultancy firm and we usually had break between eleven a.m and twelve noon. Our office was on the fourth floor of a giant edifice at palm groove, Lagos. I had to take the stair case as the only elevator was out of service. Since I joined the firm about nine months ago, I could count the number of times I had used the elevator. The morning sun hit my body as soon as I stepped out of the building. ‘

Before buying any meal, I decided to make some withdrawal. Since I did not bring my ATM card, I would have to go to the bank. It was just a few metres away, so there was no qualms. I walked into the banking hall of Total Trust Bank, TTB, which as usual was brimming with customers. The last teller had the least number of customers. I joined the queue and patiently waited for my turn. The line moved fast and soon I was the one to be attended to. Just then, I discovered that the lady behind the counter was faintly familiar. She was not even looking at me.

She stretched out her hand to take the withdrawal voucher. Seconds into rattling the keys of the computer, she paused to look at my face. I stared right back. Then, I broke into a smile. Now, I knew where I had known her before.

"Desire?" she asked gently. "Desire Bankole ?"

I nodded and continued the smile. "And I'm very sure I'm looking at Bimpe ."

She smiled too. "Of course. It's good to see you again. Long time no see."

Indeed, it was quite a long time. Bimpe was my classmate in secondary school. She was one of the prettiest girls in the class, but the least sociable. It had come as a shock when the school named her as the Social Prefect. True to her character, but very unusual of a student, she had declined the offer. Besides, many students regarded her as a snob. That was about eight years ago. As she was at work, we could not talk much. I however got her number and promised to give her a call. Back at work, my mind kept flashing back to my secondary school days.

I was very reserved then, just like Bimpe ; but I was never a snob. Due to her character, boys, including myself avoided her. Or rather, she avoided us. I had forgotten about her soon after the graduation and valedictory service. I went on to Bayero University, Kano, for a degree in English language. Many of my friends could not understand the reason for my choice. My parents who could have objected did not object. After my degree and my NYSC, I was back in lagos to face job hustles.

This book is dedicated to the glory of almighty God. It is also dedicated to those who believe in faithfulness in relationship.

Love to Lust

When he discovers that the lust that drives him around also has a griping hold on his wife, things change and they never remain the same again.

CAUTION: This story contains explicit sexual contents.

After the day’s hard work, I believed there must be some moments devoted to cooling off. Life should not just be work, work, and work; as if everything must be work. It was Tuesday evening, by 6.00 pm, I was at the G-Gold Club house in Ikeja. I had my own consultancy firm now and had just won a big contract. That meant there was need for celebration. To savor the moment with me was Amanda, my latest girlfriend. To me, bringing her to the place was one of the ways I was having a good time.

I ordered for two plates of pepper soup and drinks. The red wine was always my preference. As I took the peppery delicacies, I sipped the wine from time to time. Sitting across the table was Amanda, my pretty girlfriend. She chatted excitedly about Cynthia, one of her friends. Being a man of few words, I only nodded from time to time. It was my habit not to talk much especially while eating or drinking.

There was a big screen in the large room which was showing musical videos. In the name of singing, some exuberant guys with frenzy, half-clad ladies, were twisting their bodies and gyrating in what we called dance.

I was not a music fan and was barely paying attention to them. Even if I were to be a music fan, my choice would not be this very loud genre. Music was out of my way. I would rather put my interests in other ephemeral things.

“Hey, you’re not answering my question,” Amanda interjected in my thoughts.

I tried a grin. “Hmn? Sorry, what did you say?”

“Ha, ha, what could you be thinking of that you were so far away? Any problem?”

I changed the grin to a warm smile. “There’s no problem whatsoever. It’s something that happened in the office that distracted me. I’m sorry. What were you saying?”

“I asked if the shopping you promised will be this weekend as planned.”

I was bemused. So, I had even promised to take her for shopping during the weekend! Gosh, I could not remember making such a promise. All the same, I smiled and nodded. “No problem, Amanda dear.”

“Oh, you’re such a darling,” she gushed and gave me a peck on the left cheek. Hmn, women and show of emotion. I winked at her.

“I thought you would deny it,” she said, cheekily.

Now, I laughed shortly. There would be no need for any denial. I was in a good mood, wasn’t I? Besides, nothing went for nothing. Since it pleased me to indulge in such frivolities, I was prepared to pay the price.

Amanda was recently employed in my consultancy firm. That was just about three months ago. So far, as Project Officer, she was doing well. It was not difficult to see that she had a lot of zeal; and it was remarkable that she combined brilliance with beauty.

That combination was striking enough to make me lose my sensations. At first, I limited myself to making passing remarks about how beautiful and desirable she looked.

Those words had certainly wet the ground for me. By the time I offered to take her out for dinner, she said yes without any reservation.

That was some weeks ago. Since then, the affair had been going on and had blossomed. She ignored the fact that apart from my being married some months ago, I probably also had other lovers. I could see that my marital status did not in the least bother her. To her, if I chose the life of a philanderer, that was my business.

Amanda finished the first plate of pepper soup and indicated interest in having another. She was particularly fond of goat meat delicacy. I smiled at her and wondered how come she had large appetite. She always seemed to like food a lot, yet she looked very slim. I thought some people were like that. I nodded again and ordered an extra plate for her.

After the meal, I rented a room in the club for a ‘short time.’ That was one of the side attractions of the club, which I so much liked. We were soon in the privacy of the room. Amanda knew that with my mood, there was a great whiff of sexuality in the air.

Without any further fuss, my mouth was on hers. It seemed to be a cautious move at first, but we soon went full gear. Gladly, I realized that the feeling and desire were mutual.

I think it will be in the best interest of the LP to back APC in the House.

They need APC more than APC needs them.

PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Suspends Godwin Emefiele As CBN Governor by CasNova(m): 9:44pm On Jun 09, 2023
I knew it would come to this.

The President did the right thing. A person like Emefiele should not be a public officer. He was so mindless in his discharge of duty.

Since the days of Adamu Ciroma, I have never seen a CBN Governor like this. I have never seen a Governor so partisan, biased and egoistic. May we never see such a person again.

"Yes, it is indeed a promise. A promise is a debt, so it is a debt I owe you."

I continued to take Lola in the lessons until she finally took the UTME in April. Days later, the results came out and she did very well. She was planning to read Law at the Ekiti State University.

She had crossed the cut-off marks, although she still had to contend with the post-UTME examination. The university admission process would commence by October. I was certain Lola would get admission this time around. By first week of June,

Uncle gave me a surprise news. He handed a letter inviting me for a job interview at the National Oil Corporation (NOC). Of course, I was glad by the news. The company was a hot cake and many Nigerians angled to work there. I went for the interview, did well and two weeks later, got another letter offering me job as Information Officer in the Public Relations Department of the corporation.

All thanks to Uncle's connection and influence. I started work at the NOC first week of July and I was to resume at the Victoria Island, Lagos office. My first weeks on the job was to get familiarization. By the third week, I was becoming friendly with Farouq. He was in his early thirties and had joined the corporation about five years, so he was a senior colleague so to say.

Farouq was married with three children, but his family lived in Abuja. I later learnt that he was a son of a serving honourable member of the House of Representatives. Little wonder he lived far above his income.

"Look, Tayo, I like you," he said. "Instead of you commuting from Ilupeju to V.I every day, why don't you stay with me. Here in Lagos, I stay in two bedroom flat in Lekki. The second bedroom is empty, you can move into it at no cost."

"Oh, that's very generous of you, Farouq. Thanks a lot."

Since Farouq would be travelling to Abuja that weekend, I planned to join him in the apartment the following week. I told Uncle and others in the house about the accommodation offer. When Lola heard about it, she looked crest fallen.

"I'm still in Lagos, for God's sake," I said. "Besides, it's very likely I will be coming home every weekend. Come on. You have to get used to not seeing me every day. Remember, you will soon start schooling in far away Ado Ekiti."

That softened her.
