Nairaland / General / Re: Single? Some Interesting Facts, Photos That Will Make Us Feel So Old. by Castos(m): 7:54pm On Oct 16, 2015
dearpreye:
Indeed how fast time flies. I still remember the celebrations that greeted the year 2000 at my axis in Lagos. Little did I know it will be so quick to arrive in 2015.

All the same I'm grateful to God for the gift of life and health. Back then I was a teenager but now I have a few dependents. I'm still grateful to God for all I've achieved over these last year's starting from 2000.

No one alive TODAY may be here in the next 200 years. Our grandparents have died. Some of us have lost parents too. That simply means we too will die someday; we only ask God to give us long life, prosperity and health. We only ask Him to help us fulfil our mandate for being here at this time in history.

The nostalgia of yesterday, the burden/enjoyment of today and the hope of tomorrow. This thread is a quick reminder of the brevity of life, the fleeting time, a call to gratitude and a reawakening impulse of our need to pursue that which will bring about the betterment of society at large.

Knowing fully well that we all shall someday pass away, let's endeavour to acquire values that will outlive us; let's endeavour to be our very best, let's pay little attention to the naysayers, let's seek out our purpose, and persistently go after its fulfilment. The grave is cold and lonely; let's enjoy all human relations while life lasts!

All those who were here in 1815 have deteriorated into dusts and bones. Let's live with that in mind.

After all is said and done, the world will only remember us for what we've done for the progress of the human race. The world will only recall our memories for the smiles we brought to others, the changes we sponsored, the philosophy we held dear to us, the values we enshrined in our kids and environment. No one will recall our certificates, money or material possession.

My greatest fear is leaving this planet without making a mark. It's my deepest desire to return to dust having fulfilled my purpose. I fear more than I fear demons. I fear it more than I fear poverty and stolen wealth. I fear it more than I fear death itself.

God bless you, OP! My passion for humankind has been revitalised once again. All of a sudden certain things that aren't supposed to be mentioned with me are falling away; a new, deep love for humanity seems to envelope my being, and I feel genuine forgiveness for all those who have offended me; and feel same for those whom I've caused so much pains.
You went further than the eyes can see. Today you just told me that all those my useless comments and posts were nonsense. I'll change the way I speak and mind what I write because someone is watching and learning, whether good or bad.

Religion / The Upgrade Of Witchcraft: Modern Day Witchcraft. by Castos(m): 7:24pm On Oct 12, 2015
Please don't feel bored to read this.
There was a time when witchcraft was prevalent, rampant and on every household. Then, most of our maids were witches or were tagged as one. Most times our parents would warn us never to collect anything from our classmates in school due to fear of being initiated into their cult. There were a lot of scary stories and all that etc. »»»fastfoward»»» Here we are, those teenage maids are now adults. We are in an era were those stories don't mean anything anymore. We have really forgotten those witchcraft of a thing at least, Nollywood has helped in making the whole ish look so childish. But it will interest you to know that they (witches) have equally upgraded. Chiamaka, funke, Tina and chinaza who were the maids we chased home due to witchcraft have all grown up and they are now in our campuses today, attending parties, snatching our boyfriends, playing nude on music videos, and seducing Seun with their tight leggings. Due to their sexy outfits, my guy Chike is now a full member of the Vasline crew. Mary and other good girls have started wearing leggings and showing cleavages to attract boys. Many of our good boys are becoming players. Marriages crash so soon and the stories of death is no more taking seriously. These girls(witches) keeps seducing and laying our young men that they beg for more and more. To state the obvious, many would join the cult willingly if all their sexual and material desires can be met through it. The immorality and cultism we see in our campuses are the modern day witchcraft and not our misfortunes as others will believe (village grandma). Our phones are also an asset through which our Christian lives are being ruined by the devil. Am currently a victim to their snares, and am currently struggling to break away from their chains. Please break away today and save yourself the damning tears in the after life. May God save his children. Amen

This is for game lovers esp: car racing. I've played every known racing game on the net starting from the era of java phone, symbian and to the most current mobile phone OS (Android, IOS, blackberry and windows) . Over time I've distinguished four most realistic and fascinating racing games among others. I know that some of us must have played these fascinating games and I wanna know which one you find most interesting and addicted to and why.

Very true. We learn everyday. That's why I miss school. You find out that you learn more when you are around students or around fellow architects. Being an island will just make you revolve around what you already know.
Architecture was meant to be a professional career course which was meant to feed and raise a decent family from its proceeds alone. Today, the price for a skillfully structured design with all the time, energy and creativity poured on it is PEANUT! Over time, the profession kept losing its value that even a roadside layman can conjure anything and it'll count. Clients aren't loyal anymore that they might even beg you to make it free (some will make promises of getting more clients for you. lol). And since builders and structural engineers have joined the league of designers, I've long ago joined them in the field of construction. Truth be told, we execute it better than some of them. My brother, I don't know how much you charge per design but am sure it is quite below the price range.

Everybody keeps saying that and it's no lie. No construction detail crosses my eyes. We just have to follow the best to become better. Thank you ma boss.
I heard your mentor was Ihebrooke. You did a nice job catching up on him. As an Architect, I found out that in that moment you feel like you're unbeatable, my brother you've not begun at all. Every Architect needs to be travelled if not well travelled to see what the actual bosses are doing out there. Only then you've begun and your eyes will open to designs (the reason why I never miss any Architectural outings during my school days till date).

Women sometimes act very selfish at times but it all depends on how you handle your woman. There were times I had no liver to be stubborn towards them, always the good guy with no problem whatsoever, but with time full of lessons learnt, I became a BitterHoney.

My guy, don't waste your intellectualism on patent dogmatist and biafraudian. Imagine the nonsense of a country for one tribe out of Nigeria. Just flush her and her kinds down the toilet. Ignore her, burn it!
My brother this is not just a tribe, but a major tribe + some others who have a thing in common with them.

Which people desire biafra? You or your motley collection of internet e-warriors? No ibo leadership has requested a separation from Nigeria and no such request is before currently before the Nigerian Parliament. You are merely making confused noise rather than any concrete points noteworthy! I have no interest in debating with one that does not know her onions!

You are driven by tribal bigotry and egocentricity. Look around you, most countries in the world were under colonial masters at one stage:- Ghana, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan etc. Further, almost all countries are multi-ethnic in nature: China, Russia, Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, UK, France, Italy, Germany etc.

It is only in Nigeria that we have this ridiculous demand by a tribe to create a country for one tribe in the midst of Nigeria. If you know yourself, you will know that you are wrongly wired and a fraud against majority of ibos who would prefer to remain patriotic Nigerians rather than Nigeria being a fraud!
My brother even though am Igbo, I still agree to a bit of what you've said. For biafra to be taken more seriously, the elites among us should be the first to make the impact not some unknown civilians on Nairaland trying to stress the matter with tribal string attached to it. But still, I believe that this dream or rather this silent movement might one day come to reality because for once in the history of Nigeria, the movement was felt and it's effects are still being felt by all. It's like the dead rising again. Brother I know you're not Igbo but you should remember that the fight once happened and might still happen because there was really a dream and it might come through.
Politics / Re: Biafra Will Be Totally Different From Nigeria. Here's How! by Castos(m): 9:09pm On Sep 22, 2015
Before now, I've always seen this Biafran idea as a dead on arrival thing. I sometimes get into argument with my senior brother about this Biafran stuff and all that and whenever we argue, he gets so irritated that I'll cleverly change the topic. Often times I wonder, what a dream, a heavenly dream I do not share with him and others. The itch about MASSOB irritates me because they're always been caught and disgraced which oows cowardice and others see us in general as mere chest beaters. The other day my brother introduced me to this Biafran website like Nairaland, it was cool though but it's yet to be populated. Please I really want to share in this heavenly dream being publicised everywhere. As an Igbo man, I would love to fight for my nation but I need to trust and believe in what I fight for. Before that, let me keep on with this thread and others alike so I'd have more and better clue and really understand this dream.
