The four of us are graduates by then and no much bother for mom so she continued developing her new home . I use to come from the place somewhere after sango otta to attend job interviews or scout with a friend around agege. I could remember i had to sell my facebook account to raise transport to attend a job interview where i presently work now.
When i wanted to get married i was told i still have to inform my dad which i did visited him my my wife to inform which i never wanted to cos use to be against marrying from other religion, my sis that tried it to marry a Christian we had to packaged the whole thing for him before he allows the wedding to hold , that even another story entirely . I was getting married to a christian also , he didnt bother me much anyway cos before then we had already packed out of his house and no communication even thou mom family are always faulting us for not visiting or calling dad but i dont see any wrong in our action anyway cos he already disown us by sending us away .
Other wives and children doesnt really like us and i dont get it , they always think dad is prioritizing our well being and education over theirs, an accusation they still maintained even on his burial date , all other wives and their children maintained that my dad do not have a single kobo on their head, this accusation brought me to tears and that was the point i started having a changed my for my dad , their moms also maintained teh same position . My sister countered them anyway but i didnt utter a word .My sis informed my later of conversations she saw on my dads phone of transfers to one of his wives , the last i think . something really recent and they keep denying my dad .
Before his demise he had heart related issue and myself and siblings use to struggle to send him money or arrange for hospital bill. I could remember my sis telling ,me of a distance she had to trek cos she doesnt have much and did not want to take from the money we contributed to get to him when he was on admission .
A large portion of his property has been demolished to give way for a federal govt project taking place in our area then and part of his house and the other storey building was completely demolished and no compensation .
My dad had to sell some portion of his land to finance his surgery which was successful but still his health wasnt like it use to be .
It was on a sunday when i received a call that he is dead and i was touched cos it was at a point in my life when i needed a father figure badly . I was going through life issue and i know i can only relate it to my dad alone and nobody no matter how close i am to the person .

My university days was smooth , I remained a cool headed and I always remembered my moms word not to fail her and all her sacrifices . Mom ensure all the four of us attended a University , thou it wasnt easy for her .To the glory of God i finished with a 2:1 and an ICAN ATS certification.
Things still hasnt changed for dad our home still remains the way it was .Once in a while violence especially when other wives come visiting , i really dont get why other wives hates us and our mom so much , cos dad will always fight mom over one thing or the other especially when the last wife come around , there will always be a fight , could even remember on that happens on a sallah day and it is always embarrassing for me cos passer by always gather to watch and i use to be always ashamed .Most of dad's wife except the second that i am not sure of usually already have children or child before dad marries them and i dont understand his taste for women at times . Family members including my mom's parent and sibling always come around to settle quarrel always on my mom is behind his ordeal this and that ,mom is a witch and all , that she bewitched him because he married other women and she is jealous .That is always the bases for fight . I dont even like been at home cos mom and dad can be having normal conversation and in my mind i will be like thank God for peace today and the next moment he is fighting her again throwing her stuffs outside telling her to leave his house .
My mom will rush to his friends place to invite them to beg , no phone then and she will have to rush down no matter the time of the day , she wil always ask us to stay in the room . i was always crying . Not like she couldnt afford to rent a house she is really doing well for her self but our education .
After my NYSC the very day i returned from camp i met our room already set for relocation was happy but thenn I never wanted a broken home but for peace sake at least my mom wil rest, she already rushed her site to a complete a room and parlor and roofing even as at then the floor wasnt cemented but we moved in like that and slept on bare floor but we were happy . The place was a new site also I am really glad we left and could enjoy freedom .

I use to hide my family background from my friends and it was quiet easy cos I do get regular supplies or fund from home courtesy of mom, she was a civil servant then now retired ,she ensure we never lacked and dad wasnt really financially buoyant to some extent or doesnt bother maybe cos we not his only children or no capacity like that.
Before things went really bad , my dad use to be a big spender , he ball his friends anyhow , sallah in our house is always like festivals , he evenn donates ram for the community for years . There is always enough to eat and drink during sallah. Dad do keep late nights then and usually arrived drunk . But as times goes on he quit drinking totally and was engrossed in studying the Quran and the Bible . But then life has really moved on .
He argues religion with friend and neighbors that comes visiting and sometimes calls us to point some verses in both books but we are not always interested cos we grown by then and there wasnt really any cordial relationship btw us so we most times abscond or hide inside our room. Then we use to share just one room with our mom and four of us . Due to incessant accusation of my mom being behind his ordeal and most times always threatening us to pack out of his house. Family or friends are always coming week in week out to settle rift between mom and dad . My mom is a very cool person so she took all that violence for our sake . She use to tell us she is staying in the home for our sake , but we the children wants to leave his house badly but where do we want to pack to cos mom is just managing her salary to give us quality education.
Everything was just somehow but we kept on enduring , I dont really have friend growing up except school mate . My social life was just there growing up , I was a timid kid , I lack confidence , i really dont know how to relate with people . Growing there was no one to look up to for advise or way forward except mom, she is always worried about us , took a loan to see us through school . I can still remember some fight scenarios that took place, dad does not mind destroying her wares as the slightest provocation, broke lots of bottles that mom normally use to sell drinks , even thou he takes drinks on credit from her alot on weekend when his friend comes visiting . I use to be ashamed in out community cos of these happenings. I dont always like it at home, we lack most basic household item , including Tv, which dad later got after a while thou, friends cant come visiting cos our home is really not it . We are always in our room cos the sitting room has no sofa just dining chairs and table.
Even thou our home was really the first Storey building in the community , it just remained like that till now .
Grew up as a muslim and Dad always force us to go to Arabic school and not really bothered about school like that . he can bring down the roof of the house if anyone is at home on weekend and didnt attend arabic school and always quick to fault my mom all the time .
Nonetheless we do attend forcelly and endure an that happens there so anytime we go to school i dont always enjoy my holiday , i cant always wait to resume.
After secondary school , I proceeded to Uni , then my two elder siblings were also in uni already , thanks to God and mom support we never lacked much, and dad also send fund once in a while or assist us with transport if we inform him we going to school . He doesnt call to check up on us .
As a man I always promise my self that I wont grow up to become a man like my dad . I understand he was a good man thou and things in life are way more spiritual than physical.
Today I have forgiven him wholeheartedly cos I am father now with two kids and I can understand what he went through also and I am learning from his mistakes especially when it comes to the issue of women and lifestyle .

My Dad being and averagely rich man, we lived in a Storey building, he gave the downstairs to a certain man in our area to live because when we parked in there, we use to have security issues in the area cos there are still bushes everywhere , the said man occupy the place for free even when he had his own place he still didnt leave , I don't really want to go into that details anyway because i also learn a lesson from that situation.
This particular man was a landowner too in the same area , also part of the family that is in charge of selling land in that area and also a trad medical doc., lot of occurrence with this said man , not that he is a bad man thou , nice man i must add thou but i think he had one or two issue with dad not too sure about this anyway but he live in dad's house without paying rent close to or over 20 yrs. He played his role in a way thou as part of the land owners that he is. I will end his own talk by saying that I didn't see him at my dad's burial , but i think he came for the41days but very late .
In my dads compound we have two Storey buildings one residential the other one a shop, and an uncompleted building that my dad also had plan to make it a storey building but he the project lay abandoned up til lintel level till his death .
We use to fetch water with bowls on our heads growing up, I could remember my mom always waking us up to fetch early on sundays cos we free fetch on sundays and during the week we pay to fetch , this part of fetching water i dislike it alot . I always feel shy having a big bowl on my head at that age and i wonder why my dad did not consider digging a well or a bore hole cos i know he should be able to afford , a time came he considered digging a well , which he did to a certain stage but still left abandoned and we later turned it to a refuse dump til it gets filled up so we continued our life like that .
I attended a boarding house and i dont always look forward to holidays like my colleagues and friends do, they are always exicted going home but mine is the opposite because of series of event that is surely going to occur.

Life has been full of tearful memories- sweet and sour .There are times I wish I knew some things about life earlier before now but i'm glad I kept an open mind all along .
I give God the glory for making me experience light , it had really helped ,me to navigate life with renewed strength and I will ensure that I teach my children early what i learnt late .
It can only be God alone , and I wish I had known before now that I am enough and that everything i need to make it in life is already inside of me, things I see as weakness were actually my strength.
My upbringing wasn't really soft nor tough but something in between and I am glad i didnt allow it to shape my life. I always knew within me that I was made for more .
Growing up in a polygamous family was something i really dislike and it made me have a bit of dislike towards my Dad , we didnt really share any memorable moment , until his death , which i really wish we did had memories . I grew up envying people that relate with their dad's and it brings tears to my eyes because i really wanted to enjoy that dad and children relationship .
My day lives with us thou and my mom happens to be the first wife , she had four of us for my dad. My dad had about three other wives but they do not really live with us , the second lived with us for a while but i cant really recall the memories cos i was still young .
Life growing up was full of series of conflicting moment between my mom and dad, most times accusing my mom of being behind his ordeal
