Guys Help me thank God oooo. After years of struggling and persevering. I have been offered admission into Medicine and Surgery. I almost lost my voice due to shouting and screaming. It is not easy. God has done it again, and this time, he did it with style |

RoastedCorn: even the dullest students in our set got medicine in O.O.U,no wonder their school fee is around 300K,and their teaching hospital does not have good repute(look up google b4 you say i'm beefing).
Congrats tho, since you're studying your dream course,i wish you all the best,
BTW,what's your jamb score He never told you he is the most Intelligent of all men, but he told you he was successful. The least you can do is celebrate with him. It's not like he is planning to apply, he has already gotten the admission. What's your purpose of telling him the school he just got admitted to, doesn't have a reputable teaching hospital? He should abandon the admission and start writing jamb to get into a university with a reputable teaching hospital?? Be mindful of what you say to people please. |

Durentt: yea am igbo, but i dont like uni in the east, they are so useless and impartial. I prefer from the north By going for a school that isn't your catchment, you'll only be making things difficult for yourself. Because you'll only be admitted on Merit, which means you'll need very high scores. |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Catalyst4real: 9:29pm On Oct 19, 2015 |
Durentt: yea thanks. So i cant start learning biology at least a little now? Bcuz even my mates who did it in sec school didnt go so far. I can even opt in for a lesson to take me for biology lessons. Wont dat be enough I won't give you False hope. Or give you that "Chase your dream speech" That somebody else has done it isn't an assurance that you'll do it and succeed. The logical thing to do is to continue your Engineering. Biology class, Seriously ? A Subject a normal science student, studied for three years. You want to study it before next year's jamb, then write waec. That's not logic. Eventually you'll just do what your heart tells you. But this is my opinion. |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Catalyst4real: 6:26pm On Oct 19, 2015 |
Durentt: pls shed more light on why u suggest so You didn't offer Biology in Secondary school. You Lack the Basics. And no matter how far you go in the field of Medicine, it will always haunt you. People are drawn to Medicine, for different reasons. You chose a different path, when you dropped Biology. Embrace Engineering. You'll never know the value of what you got, until it's Gone. |

That is my main problem with students from schools in the East and West. They are wallowing in so much pride.
Taking pride in Futility and inexistent trivialities. Thats why Northerners are always smarter, wiser and more Intellectual.
Because, an Average Igbo man will underestimate a Hausa man. You call them "Ewu-Hausa" (Hausa goat) and all types of derogatory names.
You think they're stewpid and incapable of attaining great heights.
It is that contempt that makes you blind to their potentials. In disguise they are excelling, but you won't see it, because you don't expect excellence from them.
This Tribalism and regionalism is what is Killing us, it has eaten deep into our souls.
You see a university that is the biggest in Nigeria and second largest in Africa
Normally you're expected to tap your chest and say yes, my country is taking the lead.
But No you won't, because the development is not coming from your region.
This is paralysing, and until we learn to unitedly appreciate progress as a nation, irrespective of where it is coming from, we will always be estranged to Growth.

Dbrainiac1: Okay. Why would a BDS want an MBBS wen he knows as much and more than an MBBS holder? To get the certificate. Your knowledge alone doesn't allow you to function as a medical doctor. Some people are really obsessed with being a doctor, even being a dental doctor doesn't quench that obsession. |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Catalyst4real: 9:01pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
DrAdeolu. Almost everyone here is telling you to abandon Microbiology and go for MBBS.
I hope the plan is not to throw away a bird in hand because of a much more bigger bird in View?
If I was in your shoes, I would face my studies, Graduate, before applying for MBBS through Direct entry.
Think about it. You did not get MBBS when you had more than enough time at home to study for Jamb and Putme. Is it now that you're an undergraduate, struggling to maintain a good CgpA and Reading for Jamb at the same time?
N.B Am not belittling your academic abilities. Just pointing out some things I think you should put into consideration. |

haywhy911: Hi,a unilorin aspirant here. JAMB has ordered all universities to wrap up with their admission processes on or before october 31st. If JAMB's statement is anything to go by,ur list should be out SOON. In Unilorin,1st list was only released on thursday and we(just like y'all) await the 2nd list this week.Only difference is uploading of docs/acceptance fee payment starts tomorrow as suggested by the skul calendar. This thread baffles me. It took me only an hour + half 2 go through the thread that has lasted 4 close 2 a year. I salute d bosses and bossettes. Cc.
