Kaykes & Treatz Confectionery I have been in Nigeria for about two years now since my grad schools in the United States. Being someone with a niche of taste for food, I reserved my appetite to some few confectionery, diaries especially when it comes to cakes, pies and chin chin. Last week I discovered this young, gorgeous and outstanding lady by name Katherine after a meeting at the capital of Imo State. She's the founder and CEO of Kaykes & Treatz Confectionery. I was happy to be one if those who tasted her cake and pie at the meeting and believe me, the taste is awesomely astonishingly which reminded me of one if those Paris 5-Star pies sold at McDonald's. To cut stories short, I visited her baby factory and I met not only sweet pies but excellent hygienic environment, one factor I think is lacking in Nigerian food industries nowadays. The good thing is that her products are deliverable all over Nigeria. Need I state that Katherine is a first class graduate of English and Music from Alvan Ikoku college of Education, Owerri and happily married with a daughter.

As the political climate heats up, bringing with it the need to encourage more youth participations in decision making process come 2023. Imolites expect that a candidate of choice should be trustworthy, possess a wealth of experience, people oriented, and good leadership qualities to move the State forward. Comrade Okereke C. Godson (Aluta Bishop) is one of the many aspiring candidates that is already making the headlines and have the highest backing of the youths not only from his Ngor-Okpala state constituency, but in Imo State and Nigeria entirely. Looking at his records, a lot of Imolites are hopeful that he would be the one to disrupt the status quo and remove the veil of mediocrity that blindfolded the state for so long. Those who know him know that he has what it takes. Okereke C. Godson (Bishop) Wondering why he fits the bill? Here are some things you need to know about the Ngor-Okpala born State House of Assembly aspirant, Okereke C. Godson (Bishop). 1) He is the youngest House of Assembly aspirant from the All Progressive Congress (APC). Born on 3rd August 1987, Okereke's declaration to run for the seat in the State's decision making chamber is both timely and strategic. Imolites are looking for leaders who are relatively young, considering the political clime and can offer strong leadership. At 34 years of age, Godson Okereke (Bishop) fits the bill perfectly. This is why he is fast becoming a favourite amongst the youths in the state. Little wonder why the Imo Comrades Community (ICC), an umbrella body of all the enlightened youths of Imo State is rallying support for his adoption as the consensus candidate of the progressive party. 2) He holds a National Honours of Grand Commander of National Association of Nigerian Students. Godson C. Okereke (Aluta Bishop) is one of the few people that has served the youths' interest through the National Association of Nigerian Students, the highest umbrella body of the Nigerian Students both at home and in diaspora, as the coordinator of NANS ZONE-B - SS/SE National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS), a position which he occupied and served as the National Spokesman Council of coordinators in Nigeria and subsequently as the Chairman of the Council. He has distinguished himself in leadership and national developmental matters. He is a nation builder, a peacemaker, and someone who genuinely has Nigerian Students' interest at heart. He's a demonstrated activist, who continues to ensure and speak up for the need for child education, youth entrepreneurship empowerment and others. With the instrumentality of his office as the NANS Zone B Coordinator, Comrade Bishop did the unthinkable in history of students unionism as he recorded mystics of reinstating hundreds of Students expelled at various Universities in the region and hundreds of successful protests championed by his leadership. He also recorded to his credit, being the highest of them all, the blocking of River Niger Head Bridge in demand to the revitalization of education system of Nigeria and subsequent calling off ASUU strike by the Federal Government before the 2019 general election which as he has always done, was achieved. He demonstrated all these although his many years of service to the country as a leader in NANS. 3) He is the highest qualified in terms of education. He graduated from St. Fimber Community School Okpala, Ngor-okpala Local Government Area, Imo state Nigeria - First School Leaving Certificate in 1998; Foundation Secondary School in Aba, Abia State Nigeria - Senior Secoundary School Certificate (SSCE) in 2005; Federal University Of Technology Owerri in Ihiagwa, Owerri West, Imo State Nigeria - Project Management Technology in 2015. Due to his taste for education, higher knowledge, expertise and professionalism, he remained at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Ihiagwa, Imo State to complete his Masters on Project Management Technology in 2019. He has further distinguished himself from contemporary in terms of knowledge versatility by further gathering numerous certification in human capital development, Workforce collaboration and development, Google Analytics for Power Users, Fundamentals of Business Expansion, Google Tag Manager Fundamental, Management Strategies for People and Resources, Digital Marketing Skills, Fundamentals of starting and running a business, among others. 4) He Holds the Record of the Youngest and most serving SUG President While in academic activities during his first degree - he was elected the Students' leader, thanks to his exceptional leadership skills, where he served as the President, Student Union Government (SUG) 2012/2013 winning the prestigious Senate Award as the best SUG president under the auspicious leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. C. C. Asiabaka. Comrade Bishop eventually became the longest serving SUG president of FUTO (till date) with numerous awards of excellence from departments, faculty to management level to his deserving credit. In order to spread his leadership tentacles to the outside of his immediate enclave; Comrade Bishop joined the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) as the Senator of NANS. His exceptional and practical leadership skills distinguished him from the rest thereby making him to rise to higher ranks to become the majority leader of NANS under the Coordinatorship of Comrade Chinonso Obasi (IBB) and in the process he eventually emerged the Council Chairman of all SUG presidents in Imo state which gave rise to be the Chairman Joint Campus Committee JCC in Imo State. 5) After receiving his education, Comrade Bishop enrolled and participated in the compulsory National Service Scheme; National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Programme at the Federal College Of Education Technical, Asaba, Delta State Nigeria under the directorate of works & Services - serving on the exalted position of the college as the Project Technical Assistant director. He is a public commentator, social crusader, motivational speaker with hundreds of summits and symposiums organized to his credit. 6) He Publicly Displays His Christian faith. He is a very honest and God-fearing man. Comr Okereke Godson C Bishop is currently the Convener Imo Comrade Community ICC and a strong advocate of good governance in Imo state and Nigeria at large. Godson C. Okereke has served Imolites in several capacities and has been termed a man of integrity and dignity. The Elections are fast approaching Imo youths are still clamouring for Comrade Bishop to press on against all odds as he has the full support of every well-meaning Imolites and the youths of Ngor-Okpala having the capacity to lift thousands of the youths from poverty to embracing entrepreneurship. How did things fit use help naija for dey current state wey em dey now? WriterNig: |
It's unfortunate that Imo State is taking the turn it's taking now. My ordeal with the SARS Imo State at Olive clearly suggest that they are the terrorists we have now in that apart of the country. The arrested me and so me other motorist along Uturu - Okigwe Road, locked us up in one room, seized our phones and was calling us out one after the other to withdraw money from our account via ATM. When I told them I had no ATM and I was asthmatic, they threatened to kill me and tag me an ESN member. The whisked away the only 10,000 naira I had cash after about 5 hours of detention. Nothing good will ever on come out from police if they don't abolish SARS. |
