It all depend on where you intend to visit. If you target is Accra (kinda of dry for tourism), I can give you 80% accurate estimate. If you intend to go to Kumasi, Capecost, Suyani, Takoradi, be sure to get stuffs cheaper there compare to Accra.

but Gh is a lowlying area prone to flood, despite their good drainage system.
The flood issue in Ghana is not frequent; Rain seldom fall here.

Thanks for your input bro, I appreciate
you are welcome.

I see you asked about exchange rate, don't be misleaded bro. The exchange rate is not friendly presently.

Yes, it used to be as AzontoGhost said (3000cedi = 152k) but now, the ish is different.

The truth is: as Naira fall against major currencies, it also fall against cedi.

3000 cedi now is equivalent to #270,000 (Withdrawal via ATM).

It sell cheaper at parallel market. You may get 3000cedi for 260,000 if you buy from local money changers.

Your best bet now is MoneyGram (Although ristricted to use for transfer now). Money gram charge 72naira to one cedi. And with that 3000cedi will cost you 216000k.

Caveat, do not rely on exchange rate provided by Google. It is inaccurate at the moment.

Reporting life from Accra

Peace.

Hello guys,
With the current situation of things in the country, I am thinking of shifting base to Ghana for now and watch how things pan out.
I have some questions I'd love travel experts in the house to help me tackle (if you currently leave in Ghana, all the better for me)
1. What documents will I be in need of in the course of this travel.
2. What's the estimated rate for getting good accommodation in Accra - like for over a six month period?
3. We have heard a lot about the power situation over there... is it really all that stable? (because I am into internet marketing).
4. How friendly and peaceful are the folks over there? (very essential as I no like 'kata kata' any day grin)
Please I'd love people familiar with life in Accra, Ghana to drop as much details as possible, so I can make an informed decision and know how to prepare myself. I'd be really grateful for your valued input.
God bless in anticipation.
P.S. Please no snide remarks/comments on this thread, please. Thanks
Light is good here in Accra but the bill is expensive.

Accommodation is reasonably cheap if you earn in Cedi. It also depend on area.

Ghanians are friendly. Lot of girls..

Good road, reasonable security level.

And lastly, the sun is hot here..

bro i would like u to guide me in this whole process u knw i am new in this thread. First of all, i want 2 apply for winter semester admission next yr for program in bsc with my hnd, but i am comfuse i dont knw where or hw 2 start, i hv gone 2ru daad website and uni assist, now i want 2 open an acct or register wt uni assist 2 evaluate my documents, but i dont hv most of my documents nw like my ond certificate and transcript, my hnd cert and transcript, i dont hv any proof of english proficiency test cert, npc birth certificat in fact, to cap it all i hv nt certified any of my documents. So can i apply for the online registration at least to upload must of my scaned pdf statement of result documents b4 i will go and get my certificates and transcript 4 mailing 2 them via courier service. Pls help i nd ur urgent response. If possible step by step on what 2 do
That's so impossible. Uploading your document on uni-assist's website triggers nothing. Uni-Assist will not see to your registration until they receive a properly certified mailed copy of your documents with full payment of the stipulated amount.

Uni Assist is not so keen on presentation of English proficiency certificate to evaluate your result. You may however, need to provide it in case of some schools.

You dont need birth certificate for uni-assist. You international passport page is just as sufficient.

Note that an internet print of you O level result is not sufficient, presentation of the original is mandatory (I stand to be corrected by the bosses)..

Lastly, I will advise that you refer to part 1 of this thread, preruse it from page 100 to terminus. There will you find abundant answers to all that you seek.

Shallom

[quote author=Freegift75 post=45321565]I intend to travel to ghana this month end.
/quote]If you have money, go for GUO or ABC Buses.

If you are on budget, follow Crosscountry. Efex is also an option. With any of the aforementioned, you will need about 22k for transport fare with ID card. With the latter, you will need about 15k - 17k. You will also be required to pay #500 for yellow card.

Hotels, normally are cheap in Accra. But with Naira's debacle, it is now on the high side. Budget 5k-70k for hotel room per night (depending on your taste).

Important - Bring as many raw cash as you can for exhange at Ghana's Bureau de change offices or at the border. Don't rely on your Atm except you have enough money (Banks offers expensive exchange rate with ATM withdrawal).

Peace

A very big shoutout to the veterans in the house.

Pls I need insightfulness as per the significance of O level in aiding admission.

I have a WAEC (GCE) result where I had 5 credit passes (all core science components). I also have a NECO where I had 8 credit passes but a D7 in english.

Now the worrisome thing is should I use just the Neco since I have a good IELTS, Or should I use the WAEC since I have 5 credit passes in the core science components, Or should I just combine em up knowing it is WAEC AND NECO?

Kindly advice

Also recommendation of government schools flexible for admission will be more than appretiated..
