I have had POWMR in set-up for the past two years. Some others here too have it in their set ups. None of the four has shown any untoward issues.[/quote] |

omotoda: I need the input of the experts on an upgrade I am about embarking on .
I have a 1000watts,12 volts inverter on 3 units of 105ah batteries connected to 640watts( 160 watts* 4 ) felicity panels via a 60amp PWM Controller.
I intend adding more panels panels ( additional 640_watts) but the max PV power input of the CC is 720watts( of course replacing battery bank with 3 units of 180ah battery)
I am considering the following options
A. Run separate wire for a new 60 AMPS CC connected to the new panels
B.Buy a 100amps PWM Controller( found about 2 already on Ali express) with max PV WATTS capacity of 1300 watts and just change the charge controller. This saves the cost of running separate wires
I just need the input of the gurus!! Get another 60amps pwm cc and connect the 2 in parallel but you will also have to increase size of cable cos you are expecting more current at 12v. |

AshipaEk0: please what rating of external charger (that plugs in to PHCN) do i need to charge a 12 Volts 200 AMPS battery in 3 - 4 hours?
How many amps charger will be ok to achieve that? The maximum current to charge a battery bank is 25% of the size of the battery bank. In your case you have 200ah battery of which 25% of it is 50. most inverters discharge batteries to 50% only for lead acid batteries, in that case you are charging 100ah of the battery. with this in mind the maximum charger you need is a 12v 25amps charger which will charge the battery in 4 hrs tops. ANY CHARGER ABOVE 12V 25AMPS CAN DAMAGE YOUR BATTERY! |

Abdomox: Yes, they are same make (Luminous), and bought same date at Simba in Surulere, 10 months ago.
Production date is not written on them though. I don't think they are of same age... it's better to buy batteries with production dates or serial number written on them. With that in mind you can buy batteries of same production batch with same life span. |

Abdomox: Please help on this situation.
I have two 200AH battery, and I observed that when it shows low battery, one battery will be reading 10.5V and another 12.2V. They were both charged fully.
My concern is why is the inverter not drawing consumption evenly from both batteries. Thank you. Are the batteries the same make? Do they have same production date? |

omotoda: Durability and quality bro. Let me share a personal experience with you.At some point in 2019April (precisely)I bought 2 units of 200ah AGM battery at Alaba for 72k each while the reputable Indian brands were going for 120k each.
The battery lasted only 9 months. You can't compare a Quanta battery of 150k each with a battery of 85k.Good value comes at a premium!!
Although another school of thought will insist the 85k China batteries will serve you well if hooked up with panels but I haven't verified that sha!!! . Checkout the amount of load on the batteries. You overloaded the batteries! I use them (85k batteries) and they last over 2 years and counting... |

Technology Market › Re: Kindly Help Explain Differences Between Inverter Types. by cell7(m): 2:12pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
solarview: Go for the Mpower inverter, though it might be a little more expensive but it's advantages outwit the cost. 1. It is a transformer inverter on like the other one. 2. For durability and rougedness. 3. More intelligent system It's a pure sinusoidal wave inverter which is best for your appliance.
Hope these may help. Best of luck Contrary to your submission. Mpower inverter is a modified sine wave inverter with power factor of 0.6. Its a better option though cos it will give you additional advantage of charging batteries with public utility or generator apart from sunlight. It will accommodate more load than the later... |
