Chelsea have reportedly told Ruben Loftus-Cheek to stay and fight for his place, although he was omitted from Saturday’s squad.

The 22-year-old England international is considering another loan move away from Chelsea after Sarri didn’t include him in the list of substitutes in the win over Arsenal.

Ross Barkley was handed a start in the game while loan signing Mateo Kovacic came on as a substitute and impressed.


However, the Telegraph have claimed that Chelsea would like the midfielder to stay and compete for a place at least until January when the window opens so that he can reassess his future.

Many would have thought that Loftus-Cheek would have a breakthrough season at Chelsea this term due to his performances at Crystal Palace last season.

The midfielder must play regularly to stand a chance of making it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad on a consistent basis.

Meanwhile, Schalke have expressed interest in taking Loftus-Cheek to the Bundesliga, although options may still exist for a move to Spain or France.

However, Loftus-Cheek’s current contract runs until 2021 and he cannot join another Premier League club until January. Therefore, staying put until then might be his best option.

Chelsea fans got a major taste of what Sarriball entails as the Blues ran out 3:2 winners over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues started the game on a high by racing into a 2 goal lead through Pedro and Alvaro Morata. However, the Gunners didn’t just come to Stamford Bridge to view the scenery.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan missed sitters for Arsenal before Chelsea established a 2 goal lead.

However, they rallied back and scored twice through Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi. The Blues now had a game on their hands but they would respond in style.

It was an exciting game and there are some points that were taken from the game:

1. Kepa Arrizabalaga is still shaky; No thanks to his most expensive goalkeeper tag.
The Spaniard came under fire from Arsenal’s attack. He was up to the task until he was beaten at his near post by a well taken shot from Mkhitaryan.

The goalie was at fault for conceding the first against Arsenal but can’t be blamed for Arsenal’s second.

The goalie is still very young but has to start inspiring confidence in his defence. Still a decent goalkeeper though.

2. Marcos Alonso was both hero and villain
The Gunners exploited Marcos Alonso’s wings severally through square balls. One might still need to remind the full-back who could easily pass for a winger that he’s no more a wing-back but a left-back.

His propensity for those attacking runs and poor awareness in defence left Chelsea exposed. No surprises all 2 goals and the majority of Arsenal’s chances came from his position.

However, Marcos Alonso provided the assist for Chelsea and was a god when he popped up with Chelsea’s third and the winner of the day.

3. Chelsea were relentless with Sarriball
Chelsea dominated Arsenal in almost every aspect of the game. The Blues outplayed the Gunners in possession, chances created and shots taken.

What was more satisfying was that the Blues persisted with Sarri’s system and didn’t opt for a conservative approach when Arsenal were on the ascendancy.

Chelsea played beautiful, attacking, and pattern-oriented footie and it paid off in the end.

4. Pedro is like a fish that has found water
Maurizio Sarri’s style of play appears similar to the system at Barcelona and Pedro is apparently benefitting from the system.

Pedro has now scored twice in 3 games. Although he might never get back to the form of his good old Barcelona days, he’ll surely be a thorn in the flesh of the opposition under Sarri this season.

5. N’golo Kante is the free roamer
Who enjoys seeing Kante popping up in those attacking positions? The Frenchman has a new role which sees him contribute to Chelsea’s attacks.

He gave the Gunners some reasons to be careful in defence as he strove to be at the end of good crosses, whilst looking to initiate some decent attacking moves.

Alvaro Morata has blamed Antonio Conte’s direct style of play for his struggles in the Premier League last season.

The Spain international made an impressive start for Chelsea, scoring 7 goals in his first 7 games. However, his goal scoring ability waned after Christmas.

Morata scored just 3 times in 23 appearances for Chelsea as they missed out on the UEFA Champions League. He also missed out on Spain’s squad for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

He was heavily linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge this summer but was determined to carve a niche for himself at Chelsea.


“For me, it’s easy. I could have gone back to Spain or Italy, all the people believe in me there, but I want to change things here,” said Morata.

“I want to, not for all the haters, but for me and for Chelsea. Chelsea gave me everything that I needed and now I have time to give back all that Chelsea give me.

“The most important thing is the way we play. Last season it was direct balls and for me to protect the ball in the air is not my best quality.

“Now I can attack the space, I can play one touch and go in the area for the crosses. It’s better for me.”

Morata has started all 3 competitive games under Maurizio Sarri and scored his first goal of the season against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The striker is eager to repay the faith the Italian has put in him by scoring more than his last season’s tally of 15 goals.

“Sarri works with the ball always and when you always have the ball the strikers have more chances,” said Morata.

Reports suggest that Chelsea turned down the chance to sign Nabil Fekir this summer as they believed that they had more players who were suited for his position.

According to Goal. the club’s decision ultimately boiled down to their ability to keep hold of a good number of their key players throughout the summer.

Fekir was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge towards the latter stages of the transfer window.

Reports claimed that talks between Chelsea and Ligue 1 side Lyon had taken place as the Blues assessed their options in the transfer market.

Fekir was set to join Liverpool this summer but the move fell through at the final moment.

A report from The Telegraph suggests that Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of a new technical director to replace Michael Emenalo who left the club for Monaco.

Emenalo left Stamford Bridge in November and the club have been without a technical director. Marina Granovskaia stepped in to deputize in the role.

However, the Blues have put plans in place to appoint a new director and targets have been sounded out with Roma’s Monchi being mentioned.

Chelsea had initially pulled the plug on appointing a new director this summer as they were in the market for a new manager.

With the appointment of a new manager now out of the way, the Blues are keen to get a new sporting director appointed.

Another name that has popped up as a potential target is the FA’s technical director Dan Ashworth who is reported to be interested in the prospect of returning to the club.

There’s a new sheriff in town with regards to Chelsea. Maurizio Sarri is already exerting his authority at Old Trafford.

However, it is good to note that the decisions are being made to make his players comfortable and make them produce their best under the new playing style.

The latest decision from Sarri only goes to point out how unpopular some of Antonio Conte’s rules were amongst the players although he had a successful spell.

Maurizio Sarri has given N’golo Kante the license to attack with his new role in the team. The French midfielder has relished the opportunity and is looking forward to impressing in the role.

The midfielder is confident he can adapt to the new system, and it appears so, considering the opening goal he scored for Chelsea against Huddersfield Town.

It was his third goal in the Premier League as he adjusted comfortably from a defensive minded midfielder to a box-to-box role in the Chelsea team.


Kante revealed that he has been making mental preparations for the switch since pre-season and believes this will enable his game to improve.

“Now the system is ­something ­different, especially the way we play now,” Kante told the Mirror.

“So, even during the ­holidays, we were thinking and talking about how to adapt. It will require a lot of sacrifice from us all, so that is why I have to continue ­moving forward as a player.

“I have worked with ­different managers in the past and different systems.

“The best way to always keep your position [in the team] is to ­remain focused and have the same attitude towards ­everyone. So that is what I am going to try to do again this season.”

This is another change that the Blues faithful will be treated to under Sarri’s reign as manager at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea attacker Willian believes that Maurizio Sarri’s attacking tactics is similar to Brazil’s Samba style and will help the Premier League club to flourish this season.

Willian provided the assist for N’golo Kante’s goal and Chelsea’s first of the 2018/19 Premier League season against Huddersfield Town after some nice work down the wings.

In an interview with ESPN, the 30-year-old Brazil international aired his opinion on Sarri’s new style at Stamford Bridge. He said:

“Is it fun to play this way? I think so. We have a lot of players with quality up front, like Eden Hazard and Pedro. Players like that want to play football,”

“That’s why he (Sarri) talked about ‘fun’ football. This is what we will try to do this season. Is this like Brazil’s Samba style? Yes. This is what we do in Brazil and are trying to do here, playing with skill and movement.”

There is still the possibility of more players leaving Chelsea on loan and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has emerged as the latest loan target for a club outside England.

The England international is not keen to leave Chelsea on loan according to reports. The German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 are interested in signing the player on loan.

The German club have expressed interest in the midfielder, and they are believed to be one on a list of clubs interested in Loftus-Cheek.

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and produced performances that earned him a place in England’s squad for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

However, the player might find a regular place in the team hard to come by due to the acquisition of the likes of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

He is keen to play regularly at the club but the recent acquisitions in the Blues’ midfield will provide stiff competition for places under Sarri.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has expressed the belief that Alvaro Morata is improving on his performances at Chelsea.

However, he added that the striker has to score to regain his confidence.

Morata is already getting used to life under Sarri’s reign since he was appointed to replace Antonio Conte ahead of the 2018/19 football season.

Tiemoue Bakayoko has arrived at AC Milan’s La Madonnina clinic for his medicals ahead of a proposed loan move to the Serie A outfit from Chelsea.

Bakayoko is now one of the players who leave Stamford Bridge on loan this summer in a quest for regular playing time and experience.

However, the player may have played his last game for the Blues because of what the loan deal to the San Siro entails.

The French midfielder who failed to stamp his authority at Chelsea will now join AC Milan on an initial €5 million loan deal.

The deal can then be made permanent by the Rossoneri in a €35 million deal at the end of the season.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has apparently disagreed with former manager Antonio Conte on what David Luiz offers to Chelsea as a defender.

David Luiz was barely used in Conte’s last season at Chelsea before he sustained a long-term injury. He made just 4 appearances for the Blues in 2018.

Luiz’ relegation to the bench was believed to have been prompted by a reported bust-up with Conte in October.

However, Luiz has been a regular for Chelsea since Sarri’s arrival. He played in pre-season and was also handed a start in the Blues’ Premier League opener away to Huddersfield Town.

During Conte’s reign at Chelsea, Luiz’ primary role was in the middle of the back three, as he apparently didn’t trust Luiz in the wider positions.

However, Sarri has insisted that David Luiz offers more than that and will perform well. He said:

‘I disagree that he can only play as one of three central defenders,’ Sarri said after Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield.

‘If you are a good defender you can play in a defensive line of three and you can also play in a four.

Maurizio Sarri has refused to be drawn into comments which were made by Thibaut Courtois’s agent insisting that the player wants to join Real Madrid.

Thibaut Courtois is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and is reportedly available for sale at £35m.

The player’s agent made comments over the weekend which insinuated that the Belgium international and Russia 2018 Golden Glove winner is intent on joining Real Madrid.

“I have no reaction on the agent,” Sarri told reporters on Sunday.





“I am not interested in the agent, I want to hear if Courtois tomorrow will say the same.

“I have to speak with my club. I want only players with high level of motivation. I don’t have any answer to the agent.”

Reports suggest that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is set to make a decision on whether the club should launch a late move for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha.

Chelsea lost 2 nil to Manchester City, and the team’s performance on the day showed that the side needs some major reinforcements before Thursday’s deadline.

Alvaro Morata has revealed that he never had any intention of leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, contrary to reports.

The 25-year-old Spain international has committed his future to the club, regardless of the numerous speculations of an exit that has surrounded him thus far.

Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer in a club record deal. The forward got off firing, but his consistency waned towards the second half of the season.

The player was linked with a return to the Serie A this summer, but he has insisted that he never thought of leaving England this summer.

“On the first day of pre-season I spoke to [Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia] and with the manager and I said: ‘I want to stay at Chelsea,’” he told The Daily Mirror.

“They told me: ‘We have a lot of confidence in you and we want you to stay too.’ So everything was perfect.

“All the people said I wanted to leave, that I was not happy in London but its not true. Now I have taken another house, a bigger one, near to Cobham.

“My wife is very happy. When everyone is talking about the possibility to leave I am here looking for a house. So the story is finished and I can’t wait for Sunday’s game.”

Morata has now taken on the No.29 jersey ahead of the new season to mark the birth of his twins. However, he added that the Premier League title win is the major priority.

“For me I prefer to score 10 goals and take the trophy. I want to win the Golden Boot but in England in the last year the Golden Boot winner didn’t take any trophies,” he said.

Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

Pedro, 31, joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2015 and is now contracted to the club till the summer of 2020.

Pedro had some few things to say after signing the contract extension. The Spaniard said:

“It is very good for me, I am really happy here in the club, with my team-mates, the supporters and the club in general.


“It’s important for me to continue with Chelsea, I am comfortable here and want to win new titles and trophies. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy.”

Meanwhile, Pedro has played 131 games for Chelsea and has scored 28 goals. The club director, Marina Granovskaia also expressed satisfaction with the extension.

She said: “We are very happy to secure Pedro’s services for another year.

Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has caught the eye with his performances for the club in pre-season.

The youngster has shown that he has what it takes to step into the boots of Eden Hazard or Willian in the future if he’s managed properly.

The player has been consistent with his performances thus far and could be in line for a start in the community shield game against Manchester City.

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will push for a loan move this summer if manager Maurizio Sarri doesn’t give him any assurances of a regular place in the first team according to reports from the Times.

The England international has already sounded it out to Chelsea that he’ll not be content with a place on the bench at Stamford Bridge as is prepared to leave Chelsea for first-team action elsewhere.

The Blues apparently do not want to lose Loftus-Cheek for the upcoming campaign but may have to loan him out so he can fulfill his desire of regular first-team football.

The player is ready to consider a loan move away from England if he fails to secure a Premier League move before Thursday’s deadline.

English clubs can only buy players until next week but foreign leagues have longer transfer windows, and this means that Loftus-Cheek can still leave Chelsea after Thursday.

Juventus have reportedly considered Chelsea target Daniele Rugani as in-transferable following the departure of Mattia Caldara to AC Milan in a bid to bring Leonardo Bonucci back to Turin.

Reports have heavily linked Rugani with a move to Chelsea this summer, with an offer valued at €50 million believed to have been made for the defender.

Although the Italian defender had traveled to the United States with the Old Lady for pre-season training, the offer was being considered.

However, reports from Gazzetta dello Sport now suggest that Juventus consider Rugani unsellable at any cost, and will keep the player despite the Blues’ reported interest.

The Turin outfit have let go of one their prized young assets in Caldara, and won’t be willing to lose another one in Rugani, with the defender also keen to remain in Turin.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is apparently being a nice guy to Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata after his poor performance against Arsenal in Dublin.

The manager has defended the Spaniard after he led the line but endured another frustrating night, missing a decisive penalty kick in the course of the game.

Morata missed a good number of chances, and it went from bad to worse after Petr Cech made the rare penalty save off his boots. Arsenal went on to win on penalties.

It can be recalled that the player had been away for the birth of his twins last Saturday, and returned to training two days later.

However, Sarri suggested that the striker might be feeling the effects of a stressful week, but insisted that he had no worries over the striker.

“I don’t know if he is not confident,” Sarri said post-match. “Maybe he was tired.

“The last three days for him were very intense, so maybe this match he was a bit tired. I am not worried about Morata.”

Morata got off to a good start in his debut season at Stamford Bridge as he scored 10 goals in the first half of the season. However, he scored just once in 2018.

Chelsea have been reportedly making plans for a new striker, but widely reported target Gonzalo Higuain is set to join AC Milan. Therefore, the Blues may have to look elsewhere, but that’s if the reports are concrete.

The Blues came up against a superior opposition in Arsenal compared to previous opponents in the course of the ongoing pre-season game.

I was always looking up to this game against a side whose specialty is keeping possession. It’s no news that Arsenal is a side that knows how to keep the ball. Although their ruthlessness in attack leaves more to be desired.

Chelsea on the other hand, are side trying to get to grips with how possession football is played under Sarri, and it’s been promising as the last three games have shown.

However, against Arsenal, the Blues couldn’t replicate the performance against their last two previous opponents whom they dominated in terms of passes and possession.

Arsenal had the bulk of the passes and the possession in the course of the 90 minutes of the game.

It’s obviously still early days yet, and the Blues are still yet to get some key performers available. Therefore, in my books, they’ve been good enough in trying out the new manager’s style.

Arsenal bossed the possession stats and passes stats, but both sides were very close in terms of chances created, as Chelsea got the best chances in the game.

It’s a good thing, that irrespective of Arsenal’s dominance of the aforementioned stats, the Blues held their own in terms of chances created.

We’ve seen what Sarriball entails. It also requires some insane pressing high up the opposition half.

This means that the players must maintain 100% concentration and be positionally aware, as a side that knows how to keep the ball with eagle-eyed passers and are ruthless in attack can tear us to shreds.

That’s a threat that Pep Guardiola’s Man City offer in the upcoming community shield game on Sunday. They keep the ball excellently and are also ruthless in the opposition half.

We wait to see how Chelsea copes with their threat ahead of the new season. Guardiola will also be wary of the threat the Blues will provide on the day.

The Blues appear to have progressed from strong to stronger opponents in the pre-season, City is easily the toughest opponent amongst all.

Reports are rife that Sarri will have a chat with Willian to find out more about his late return to pre-season training. The Brazilian returned to training five days later than requested.

His late return was apparently due to passport issues. This development came up amid rumors of interests from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The player played no part in the friendly against Arsenal, and when Sarri was asked about the player’s situation, he responded:

“It’s strange,” Sarri said. “I am not happy about this situation but before I answer, I would like to speak to him.”

Willian has been heavily linked with a summer exit, and there are fears that he might be following Diego Costa’s lead.

This is because Costa gave a similar reason last summer before demanding a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Willian is a close friend to Costa and is also represented by the same agency, so it’s not far-fetched if sources from the club have expressed any worries over the situation.

According to reports from The Sun, Chelsea are ready to hijack Tottenham’s bid for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of major interest from Spurs although no bid has been made, and Chelsea are ready to pounce with a bid of £20million

Grealish spent last season in the Championship with Villa, although they failed to gain promotion after losing the Play-Off final to Fulham.

I guess a majority of the Chelsea fans who have been paying attention to Chelsea’s games in the ongoing pre-season have been fascinated by what a certain youngster from the Chelsea Academy has been offering from the left side of attack thus far.

The player is Callum Hudson-Odoi and he’s the latest Chelsea youngster to be described with the ‘wonder-kid’ phrase, and he’s been living up to it thus far.

We all know it’s just pre-season, and there is the possibility that he’ll be shipped out on loan.

Hopefully, this is not the case, and Sarri gets to slowly integrate the player slowly and steadily into the senior team with games in cup competitions, and some sub appearances in the Premier League.

Our supposed wonder-kids who have gone out on loan have not really cut it. Charly Musonda is a recent example amongst many many others.

The 17-year old Hudson-Odoi has started all 2 pre-season games for Chelsea, and recently signed a new 5-year deal to remain at the club.

But who is Hudson-Odoi? The player is of Ghanaian descent and son of former Hearts of Oak midfielder Bismark Odoi.

It must be known that the player who is eager to carve a niche for himself if given a chance in the senior side has paid his dues in Chelsea’s youth team setup.

The player has been targeted by some of Europe’s elite in the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and the likes.

However, the interest from these European heavyweights comes as no surprise, especially for a player that scored 21 goals in 30 games in various youth competitions for Chelsea last season.

Hudson-Odoi was the focal point of the attack and his contributions ensured that Chelsea won an unprecedented quadruple at youth level last season.

Hudson-Odoi is an Englishman, and also played a crucial role when the England Under-17 national team won the Under-17 World Cup in India in 2017.

The player is definitely one for the future and the club acted quickly by extending his contract.

The player’s performances for Chelsea in the ongoing pre-season have been conspicuous and impressive thus far, and he has appeared to be a very direct attacker down the flanks with the necessary skills to outwit his man.

His beautiful assist to Pedro in the first pre-season game for the only goal and win against Perth Glory is a testament to this.

The player is definitely one who can cut it if he is integrated gradually and nicely, and he has done himself a lot of good as his performances have impressed Maurizio Sarri.

“I don’t know if they will play this season in the Premier League,” the Italian admitted, “but I know that these names will be very famous in the next years.”

Hopefully, under Sarri, the player can be managed properly, and not allowed to be another youth prodigy from the youth setup whose career subsequently goes down the drain.

However, the reality is this; It remains to be seen if he’ll be given a chance to prove himself in the senior side this season. Possibly, cameo appearances, or a loan departure.

David Luiz has expressed hopes that he has proven himself to new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Luiz insisted that he is fit and ready to fight for a place in the team, as there are beliefs that Chelsea might not really need reinforcements in the center-back positions.

Regardless, Chelsea are on the lookout with Juve’s Mattia Caidara emerging as a potential target for the Blues this summer.

Talks of a deal for Daniele Rugani have cooled off as Chelsea are now interested in a £35 million deal for fellow team-mate Caidara.

David Luiz is set to start for the Blues in the game against Arsenal on Wednesday and he stated:

“I had a lot of time to take care of me last year, so now I’m 100 per cent. “I love this philosophy (of Sarri). We play high, with a lot of possession of the ball, in a technical way. The coach is trying to help us every single day to learn quickly his philosophy.

Whilst speaking on possible defensive additions, he added:

“It is a challenge for everybody. It is good to have fantastic players, more than just 11. We have many players that can play in the starting 11, so it is a positive challenge for everybody.”

Chelsea could be set to miss out on another highly speculated target as AC Milan have stepped up their pursuit of Juventus striker and Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain by holding talks with his agent.

Reports in Italy suggest that Milan are making attempts to sign the forward who’d be available on a loan deal worth £15 million.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Higuain as Morata’s future at the club appears to be uncertain.

Sarri is believed to be a big fan of Higuain having worked with him at Napoli before he moved to Juventus.

Sky Sport Italia claim that his representative has held talks with Milan general manager Leonardo about a switch which would include a £32 million option to buy next summer.

Chelsea are willing to let French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko leave this summer amid interest from Serie A outfit AC Milan. Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco last summer for €40 million but failed to make any significant impression in his debut season, whilst struggling to nail a regular starting spot in the first team. According to Calciomercato’s Fabrizio Romano, Bakayoko is not considered untransferable this summer and could be allowed to leave if the right offer comes.

Still early days yet, but the dream of seeing exciting, as well as a particular brand of football being played by Chelsea, appears to be coming into reality.

The Blues have played just 2 pre-season games under Sarri but appear to have hit the ground running in terms of the quality and style of football they’ve played thus far and will be playing when the 2018/19 football season commences.

This is exciting as some major mainstays in the side are even yet to arrive for pre-season preparations.

Maurizio Sarri led Chelsea in his debut game for the club against Austrailian side Perth Glory.

It’s a no-brainer that the quality of the side matters, but the Blues played a different brand of football in the first half of the game that saw Jorginho turn the passing game on, as he averaged a pass every 27 seconds in the game.

Chelsea couldn’t get among the goals as expected but won the game 1 nil with an identity to the kind of football they played. The possession stats saw Chelsea garner a massive 71.3% against Perth Glory’s 28.7%.

The Blues were impressive in the first half of the game but appeared distorted in the second half, especially after Jorginho’s substitution.

It’s no more news that the former Napoli midfielder will be key to whatever Sarri plans on implementing at Stamford Bridge.

Sarriball already appears to be gaining grounds after barely a handful of games in the absence of some key performers for the side.

Chelsea are already a passing side and this was evidenced again in the game against Inter Milan, who are a superior side to Perth, and also one of the major sides in the Serie A, been managed by Luciano Spalletti.

Chelsea dominated the game in every key aspect. The Blues garnered the most possession with 58% to Inter Milan’s 42%. The Blues made 612 passes compared to Inter’s 425.

Considering Chelsea’s former style of football, one wouldn’t believe that this was just Sarri’s second game in charge as he tries to imbibe a new system into the players. Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti spoke after the game, he said:

“We suffered because of their superior technical quality and speed in making the ball travel”

We had initially considered how it would take time for Chelsea to adapt to Sarri’s style, but they appear to have hit the ground running with regards to style, but results? maybe not so much.

However, it’s still early days yet and one cannot draw any conclusions yet. Chelsea will face two tough and formidable opponents in Arsenal on Wednesday, and Manchester City on Sunday. We wait to see how those games pan out, and get to assess Sarri’s Chelsea further.
