If you only tune in on Sundays, do well to go to page 123 for a rare midweek update so that you will be in tune with us. Happy Sunday folks. And a big shout out to the ghost readers who have suddenly multiplied in recent weeks. Agbonyibo is watching you for me from the rooftop ![]() FAMILY AND FRIENDS Josephine selected a pair of jeans and tshirt, got dressed and marched to Achike’s room. Achike was in bed, trepidation etched on his face. She knocked and pushed the door open and entered. “What do you want?” Achike said. “What did you do to Chisco?” “What did I do to Chisco?” “Yes, what did you do to him?” “How is that any of your business?” “It is my business. He was last with me!” “Oh, he was last with you. Okay, now he can be first with you if he likes.” “You’re a mean hearted man Achike. How could you?” “I have made it easy for the two of you. I thought you came here to thank me.” “You are despicable. Your own blood brother. Because of a woman, you throw him out on the streets?” “Which street? I made it easier for the two of you. Now you can take your time and destroy his life. But first, come and pay his bride price.” “You are a big fool.” “Don’t come here and insult me. Ashawo ten kobo.” “It is your mother that is ashawo twenty kobo.” “Take good care of him. I will call my people in the village and tell them of his achievement.” “He is not with me. He refused to stay with me. Chisco is a man. A real man with honour and pride. That is why I fvcked him and not you.” “I have heard. Fvcker of the year. Is that not the only thing you are good for? Your mates are married with five children. You are here sharing your nyash to every Tom, Dick and Wasiu. You should go to AIT and start a reality show titled the nyash of Josephine challenge. If it is men you want you cannot even attract good ones. That thing that is scratching you will not allow you. All you need is to see preek and you have left your door open. Don’t forget to leave it open tonight because your new lover will come back. He will not go very far because he does not know anybody in Lagos.” “You think I’m easy? Then why did I not let you?” “Me? Tufiakwa! I cannot put my thing in that public latrine.” “You are a bitter man Achike. You are worse than a woman. Chisco holds you in high esteem. He would never do this to you. But you allow yourself to be blinded by jealousy and you put your brother at risk. How will you feel if they killed him or maimed him or even frame him up for what he did not do. I know this town. You cannot be homeless and safe.” “Bia, Nurse, or whatever you call yourself. Biko, get out of my room. Don’t come and tell me what to do or what not to do. If anything happens to that boy you share the bame. You distracted him. He was supposed to live here humbly and serve me then I will settle him. But you came along and used your nyash to destroy his life. Don’t come and try to pass the blame. I had a plan for him which you destroyed. I am a disciplined man.” “You are a loser. No wonder you are still alone at your age. No woman can stay with a man like you. I leave you with your conscience.” “And I also leave you with your conscience. No man enters you and has a life afterward. Wasiu and now Chisco. Go and find another victim. Papa Efe’s son is ripe enough. He is your type.” Josephine stormed out of Achike’s room and nearly fell over Irikefe who had been by the door listening the whole time. “Bros Freke. Na wetin dey happen be that o!” “You don’t say. Achike threw his brother out out of jealousy?” “I tell you.” “And the nurse would not take him in?” “He is too proud I gather. He’d rather sleep under the bridge than move in with a woman.” “Remarkable. The council of elders should come in here.” “Leave those useless old men. You will see now, the day it comes up they will leave the matter of his homelessness and will be asking how many rounds he hammered the nurse.” “Don’t talk like that Irikefe.” “Those men?” “I feel sorry for Chisco. I like the guy. I can even see why the nurse was attracted to him.” “Bros leave that thing. Which attraction? Nurse Jo being a nurse has been able to look at him and deduced the size of his dick and then choose him. You know how village boys can gather the thing.” “I don’t think so. Remember he saved her from Wasiu.” “Save what? Was Wasiu going to kill her? Is it not fvck he was going to fvck her? Fvck she was prepared for? Chisco ruined her night that night and now that Wasiu is no longer here she has used him as a replacement, which was the whole point of his bravado in the first place.” “Come on Irikefe.” “Bros Freke na wa for you o! Did she not also come on to you? Is it the virgin Mary that we are discussing here?” “For some reason, I cannot judge her. Josephine is a nice girl. I really think so.” “Why will you not think so when you have Maya. What you should say is that you just don’t give a fvck about the whole thing.” Ndifreke laughed and regarded Irikefe. This was why he wouldn’t leave Katakata street just yet. These characters. “The nonsense Achike had the mouth to mention my name. I will deal with that man in this compound.” “He paid you a compliment if anything. He reckons you can succeed where he failed.” Irikefe thought about it and smiled. “But bros no be lie o. I’m seven inches down there remember?” He said with a wink. “Are you fancying yourself already? What about Evae?” “That’s a no go area bros.” “How?” “My dad figured it out somehow and warned me to steer clear. I have never seen Papa Efe so serious.” “I don’t understand.” “He worked it out somehow that I was interested in Evae. Papa Efe had never shown any concern over anything I have done in this compound with girls. But the moment he sniffed my interest in Evae he changed to a tiger. He would throw me out of his house for good if I did it.” “Well, what an adult sees sitting down, a child cannot see standing up.” “I have heard. Undertaker junior.” “I am with your dad on that. At least let us wait and study them. She may not be worth the trouble for all you know.” “Bros Freke. What do you want to study again? Have you not seen her waist? Her front and back? Even Nurse Jo will be intimidated by Evae and even her mum. Sometimes I think I should have gone for her mother instead.” “That would have been your death. Somebody’s wife and mother.” “I have seen her eyes bros. I am even afraid to accept it. I greeted her and called her Mama Evae. Her eyes softened and she said 'call me Eyonyam'. We were alone in the backyard. I hurried away because I was confused at the time.” “Your imagination is wild Irikefe. Surely not her mother. I thought you were into deflowering pre-puberty girls.” “I am now into women. I have grown up. We could have a party. It looks a real possibility.” “Okay. Enough. Not another word on it please.” “Alright bros. I won’t do it. For once I know not to disobey Papa Efe.” “Good for you.” “You are the luckiest man on earth. You have Maya. There is still no one as beautiful as she. And you have become supermodels overnight.” “My brother, na God.” “So you said you were angry at the man and nearly slapped him and next thing he offers you a modeling contract? Like, for real?” “Stuff of Hollywood but it is true. We have a two-year contract in our back pocket plus fixed monthly remuneration.” “Ehen! God is good o!” So how much are we talking about?” “Taa! How do you expect me to tell you that?” “Okay bros I understand. Thank God for your life o!” “Like Maya said, it is our turn to shine. When your turn comes, no Jupiter can stop you. I have realized that all that while I was suffering at the wharf and driving keke that it was not yet my time. When your time comes, you don’t have to do anything extraordinary. You don’t need effort or brain or even wisdom. Heaven just opens. In my case it was even jealousy that did it for me.” “Chai, Na true o. And some people will be blaming witchcraft for their misfortune.” “That is pure ignorance. God’s time is the best.” “You are right bros.” Irikefe regarded Ndifreke. He was wearing original Tommy Hilfiger lounge tshirt and shorts. It was not even two weeks and he already looked different. “Bros, there is something I was thinking.” “Tell me.” “I am thinking of starting something on the side. If I just have two hundred thousand naira I will be able to do something that will be bringing me money on a daily basis.” “Why do you need money on a daily basis?” “Come on bros. Big boy like me, my mates are already millionaires. It is just lack of capital that has kept me like this.” “Lack of capital?” “Yes bros. Lack of capital.” “What business do you need capital for?” “Buying and selling. I can be going to the wharf when they open container I will buy tokunbo electronics and come and be selling. In no distant time, I will even be importing my own.” “I see.” “Bros, lend me the 200k. I will pay you back.” “So what happens to your carpentry?” “Bros you know it has been a joke all along na. I am only doing it so that Papa Efe would not throw me out of his house. My dream has always been to start this electronic business.” “I get you irikefe. But I don’t have 200k to lend you.” “Bros no talk like that na. See your clothes, see your skin. You just said you signed a contract.” “I did but the money is out of my reach now.” “So when can I have it?’ “I can’t promise you anything Irikefe,” Ndifreke said and stood. “Let me go inside. Mkpoikanna was preparing breakfast.” “So nothing for your guy ehn? You went and enjoyed yourself in a five-star hotel and yet nothing for your boy?” Ndifreke put his hand in his hip pocket and produced two thousand naira. “Hold this one.” “Bros Freke! Thank you my man. God will bless you and ensure that Mr Jonjo gives you a ten year contract.” “Amen,” Ndifreke said and walked into the compound. Mkpoikanna was already eating when he got to the room. “Da owo! You finished cooking and you didn’t call me?” “Call you? I no know say you go want to eat.” “Why will I not want to eat brother?” “Na poor man food be this. No be this type you dey eat now.” “Mkpoikanna it is indomie and egg. I have eaten indomie and egg almost every day since I came to this house.” “That na before. Now you don turn to oyinbo.” “What are you saying brother?” Mkpoikanna did not reply but concentrated on his food like it was his final graduation exam and the invigilator had just said ten minutes more. “Did you wash the pot you used to cook it?” “No.” “Alright. I’ll go and cook mine.” “The indomie is finished.” “I’ll go and buy.” “Better do.” Mama Tobi threw her wrapper away and gyrated in only her underskirt as Maya watched and laughed. “I said it! I knew it! I always knew that all you needed was to leave this Katakata street and go out and your life would change. You are a child that God has blessed. That is why I was feeling bad all that time. Right from when you were in the womb they gave me a vision about you. They said you would become a wonderful child that will bring blessings to this family. That is why I felt so bad when you wasted your life with that Calabar boy that had nothing to offer.” “Mama he is part of my success story.” “He is not part of your success story. He is using you.” “Maama!” “He is. Are you not the one that first went out? Is it not my cousin that gave you the connection? If not for you would this have happened?” “Mama that is how it was meant to be. Our destinies are tied together.” “God forbid. Your destiny is not tied to that of anybody.” “Mama I love Ndifreke. He is everything to me. And I am happy that our success has happened as it happened. There is no me without him and vice versa.” Mama Toby raised her hand in supplication mode and said “My God! What has that boy done to my daughter?" “Mama it’s enough. At least we both earned the money so it is alright.” “Are you saying you are keeping the money together?” “Yes Mama. He is investing our sign on fees. We will do as we wish with our monthly income but he advises that I save a lot.” “How much did you say was the sign on fee?” “One million naira each.” “And you gave it to him to invest.” “Yes mama.” “You are a fool.” “Mama!” “Receive sense in Jesus name.” “Mama I trust him.” “Shut up! Trust who?” “Mama.” “Don’t mama me. If you gave that money to me I know what I would have done with it.” “Give the money to you?” “Yes give the money to me. Why wouldn’t you give it to me? Who in this world will best have your interest at heart? I carried you in this my womb for nine months. I almost died when I wanted to give birth to you because you were coming out leg first. This your long legs that you are using to make money now almost killed me!" “Mama!” “Don’t mama me again. You have hurt me my daughter. To think that you can trust a stranger more than me.” “Mama Ndi is not a stranger. He loves me.” “Shut up your mouth. I say shut up your mouth there. What do you know about love? Go to that boy and tell him to give you your money.” “Mama.” “If you don’t do it, I will ask you to leave my house. I will come out and face the sun slap this breasts that you sucked and it will not be well with you in this thing you have started.” “Mama you are going too far.” Mama Tobi then softened her tone and pulled her stool closer to Maya. “Now listen to me my daughter. I am your mother. I will never see evil coming your way and keep quiet. You are only a child and do not understand the world. Now that you are just starting life, let me give you a piece of advice that you will need for the rest of your life. Never trust men. No matter what you do, never trust a man. Don’t trust him with money, and don’t trust him with another woman. You see this boy, now that he has money, you will see his real colours. If you are not careful, he will also use your money and carry other women.” “Ndi cannot do that to me.” Mama Tobi glared at Maya and she said “Sorry mama.” “He does not have to be like that. It may not even be his intention. But now that he is successful, they will come after him. Those ones they call slay queens, they will try and slay him. If you give him your heart, don’t give him your money as well so that you do not lose everything. I have told you the truth with love. The love of a mother.” Maya heaved a heavy sigh. She was having a headache all of a sudden. “Collect your money from him and give it to me. I am your mother. I will not do you bad.” “But mama…” Mama Tobi glared at her again and she dropped her gaze. “Okay. I will speak with him.” “That’s my girl. Come and give your mummy a hug.” Irikefe listened for his father’s snoring and sure enough, it began. He waited for another fifteen minutes and when he was convinced that his father was dead to the world he found his Vaseline and brought out his p*nis and applied the Vaseline to it and began to knead. He thought about Evae in that bathroom, and then Josephine. As he stroked himself he thought about both women and then settled for a party with both of them on his mind. While he thrusted in and out of Evae, Josephine was stroking his balls at the same time. As he stroked himself to the image he created in his mind, a thought occurred to him. Why would he be masturbating when he could very well be doing the real thing with Josephine? He remembered her quarrel with Achike. He had mentioned her leaving her door open for Chisco. That was something Josephine could do because Chisco truly had nowhere to stay and would be tempted to return to the nurse. If he was lucky, he could slip inside the room before Chisco came. All he needed to do was to show her his dick and she would surely be impressed and let him. Then with a little difficulty, he put on his jeans and quietly opened the door and stole out of the room. He could hear the familiar sounds of the night at Katakata Street. Angry generators from afar and coughing or sleep talk from the rooms he passed. He climbed the stairs and tiptoed towards Josephine’s room. he held the door handle and first listened and then turned it. The door did not budge. He listened again and it was quiet. He thought about knocking and if she came to the door he would just kneel and beg her. He so wanted a woman at that moment that he could do anything. Then all of a sudden he felt a presence. The hair on the back of his neck stood as he turned. Standing in front of him wearing only a thong was Evae. TO BE CONTINUED. |

Hi everyone. So today we have a midweek update. If you stumble on it, in the voice of Pheezie "invite/tag your friends to come and enjoy... ![]() ASAMPEPE “Now do to me as you do to all those village girls.” The words rang in his head and Chisco turned the nurse over, had her spread-eagled and held her ankles apart and balanced himself on his heels and resumed thrusting with fresh vigor. As he took in the beauty of the nurse under him, he began to mouth “asampepe! asampepe! Kpoo m aha m! uto di ka icecream! asampepe!”. Josephine also threw caution to the wind and began to make interminable sounds of her own. Only they forgot that they lived in a face me I face you and neighbors could easily hear them. Irikefe, smarting from the manhandling he just received from his father saw the children giggling and scratching their heads in pure enjoyment and decided to investigate. They all straightened up and moved away from the door when they saw him coming, but having been on Chisco trail since the nurse returned to the compound, he could already guess what was happening. He shooed the children away and placed his ear on the door and sure enough, Chisco was masticating Nurse Jo. He wanted to peep but the lock was not one that supported that, and the children were watching him. “Asampepe! Chia! I gburu m o!” The monkey could not even keep his mouth shut! Irikefe also scratched his head and grabbed his crotch. Seeing he was helpless he strode away to the frontage where the men were still talking. His father has already joined them. “Gentlemen, can you imagine the effrontery of Governor Ganduje? The man donated ten million naira to EFCC and ICPC to help them in fighting corruption. Has anyone ever heard of a thing more preposterous?” “Did they accept the money?” “Senator Ben Bruce demanded that they reject it. And I think they did.” “Not only that, he had previously donated one hundred buses to the Buhari presidential campaign.” “And they accepted it?” “Before nko?” “Where do they think he got the money from?” “Is he not a governor? He can always defend such expenses. But that is not the issue here. We are talking about a man that was filmed taking a bribe, who should be too ashamed to get out of bed, let alone attending public functions and making donations. Even to EFCC! Wetin person no go see for this country?" “Why will he not do that when Buhari openly called him a responsible man in France. I’m sure he forgot that even though it was in France that we will get to hear in Nigeria. Rather than out rightly condemn Ganduje, he instead attacked former Kano Governor Kwankwaso; accusing him of diverting state funds to contest for Presidency. The same Kwankwaso that delivered two million votes in the 2015 elections.” “Did Buhari forget that?” “He didn’t. He his blinded by his friendship with Ganduje who is now foes with Kwankwaso.” “What a shame.” “And here in Lagos the Oba of Lagos announced that there is no vacancy in Lagos Government house and in Abuja. He clearly said that Lagosians should not vote the PDP. What kind of royal father does that? isn’t he supposed to be non partisan? Is that not using his own hand to divide his kingdom?” “It is the same Oba that threatened any Igbos that voted against Ambode that he would throw them into the Lagoon.” “Why does he make those Statements on the eve of every election? That is unbecoming of a Kabiyesi of his standing.” “He apologized for that one saying that he was high on orijin. He asked his boys to drown cans of orijin in the Lagoon instead.” “I wonder what he will attribute the recent statement to when the backlash comes.” “Meanwhile, Buhari has gone against his party to say that anyone that wants to go to court over the party’s primaries should do so. Oshiomhole is in soup.” “He is said to have collected fifty million dollars from aspirants. That is why the DSS detained him. Saraki has asked him to resign from politics.” “Another pot calling kettle black.” “Na wa o. Meanwhile the dust is yet to settle on Jonathan’s new book. Isn’t it predictable? leave office, write a book, publish at a sensitive time as on the eve of the general elections and sit back and watch the main actors split hairs.” “The Borno Governor called the book an elementary book of fiction. Savage.” “Jonathan said in it that he fought corruption with technology. Biko, is that not a statement of fiction?” “Shebi they say he drinks ogogoro? I will not say anymore.” “Gentlemen we must talk about the one hundred and twenty soldiers massacred in Borno by Boko Haram. How bad can things be that terrorists can invade a military base and slaughter soldiers protecting the nation? They did not lay ambush for them; they did not kill them in combat. They entered their rooms and smoked them out. Where was the intelligence? What kind of military do we have? Are we safe?” “Those that escaped said they were using weapons acquired by Shagari in the early eighties. Weapons that are in the museums in other parts of the world. They could not withstand the firepower of the terrorists.” “For anyone who did not understand the gravity of the two billion Dasukigate, that is your answer. You share the money for equipping the military and expose young men and women to the early grave. The shame of a nation.” “And it took Buhari one week to say anything about it. Meanwhile, he responded to Jonathan’s book within forty-eight hours. The price of a human life in Nigeria.” “If it is not too much to ask, I will say we observe a minute silence for these fallen heroes.” It was Akunna. It was the first time he was sitting with the elders and he had been sounding all right so far. Now a minute silence? No one wanted to offend him so they all stood when he stood. As they stood wondering whether to close their eyes or not, Irikefe went close to Achike and whispered: “Bro Achike, as we speak, your small brother Chisco is about to kill the love of your life, Nurse Jo with preek.” All the blood in Achike’s face drained out. “If you hurry up you will save her, as you people are toto saviors in your family.” He strode away and observed Achike from a distance for the rest of the minute’s silence. Achike all at once was looking like a week old cadaver. When they sat back, Mr Zubi turned to Agbonyibo and said “Agbonyibo, how are you finding life in our compound?” “Life e good for here. Everybody nice to me and my family no problem.” “Ah, good to hear that. Speaking of your family. I hope they are adjusting as well?” “Yes sir. Dem happy too.” “So how is business? We have not noticed you doing anything.” “I dey do plenty things sir. I been tell una say nobody go know say anything dey inside there sef.” “Does that mean you have some wild animals there already?” Agbonyibo smiled and said nothing. “Tell us. We want to know.” Agbonyibo still remained noncommittal. “Gentlemen let us not insist. It is his business isn’t it? So long as we are not troubled in any way let Agbonyinbo do his thing,” Mr Zubi said. “Err sir, I wan beg for something.” “What Agbonyibo?” “That old mama for this compound.” “Which one?” “Mama Akunna.” “What about her?” “I want make she use my shop domot for her business.” Akunna stood and glared at Agbonyibo. “What did you just say?” Agbonyibo immediately prostrated with his belly flat on the floor. “I take God name beg you sir. I say dey sorry for the mama. She ask me and I gree. I just wan tell una.” “Do you know she is my mother?” “I know sir. Abeg make we help am.” “Gentlemen, this Agbonyibo is a good man. We have not seen one with a heart like his. He only just came; maybe only met Mama Akunna once and took pity on her. Let us encourage this kind of spirit. Akunna, let Agbonyibo help your mother.” “I’ll advise that as you are giving her a place to do business, that you give her a place to sleep as well,” he said and walked away. “It seems Akunna’s head is getting correct. Today, everything he said apart from the minute silence was okay. And even his anger at Agbonyibo was normal.” “That does not mean we should let down our guard. He is still a danger to all of us.” “That is true.” “So we return to Katakata Street today,” Maya said. “Yes dear. Our honeymoon is over,” Ndifreke said. “We should move out. We can afford to now. I can’t imagine going back to share toilet and bathroom with that snake man now.” “No Maya. It is too soon. As good as this looks, we must not get carried away.” “We are not getting carried away. We lived there because we were poor.” “We are not rich now Maya. Not yet. Two million naira can evaporate before you know it.” “We will get a hundred grand each monthly. We will get by.” “Seemingly. But know that this is a fickle career. You could break a leg tomorrow or hot water pours on you or a more beautiful girl turns up. What happens? We will have a big burden of rent on our hands. I’ll say we stay on in Katakata street and invest our sign on fee and watch it grow. From the monthly income we also save the much we can.” “Staying in Katakata Street will guarantee that we break the leg sooner.” “You have lived there all your life Maya. Let’s just be patient. Gain more experience in our new career, and besides, I have come to love the drama of Katakata Street. It will be difficult to live anywhere else.” “That is poverty mentally. May the Lord deliver you from that.” “Amen sister.” Chisco got dressed and grabbed the bowl of pepper soup. He still avoided Josephine’s eyes. She sat up in the bed n*ked and watched him. Then she stood and went to him, removed the bowl from his hand, placed it on the floor and held him tight in an embrace. “Why are you still shy?” “I no shy nurse.” “Enough. Call me Josephine. You just fvcked me Chisco in case you have forgotten.” “No talk am like that.” “What were you telling me in Igbo?” she teased. Chisco smiled and then looked at her. He needed to leave before she realized she had made a mistake. “I wan go. My brother go don dey find me.” “Alright. You can come any time you want ok?” “Okay.” He cracked the door open and listened. It was the normal sounds of shuffling feet and people making small talk. So he stepped out and hurried down the stairs to his floor. He opened the door of his room and found his brother in a pensive mood. Achike stopped short and regarded Chisco. “Bia Chisco, where are you coming from?” “Erm nowhere brother.” “Nowhere and you are carrying my bowl.” Achike reached and grabbed the bowl from him and spilled the content. “Where did you take my food to?” “Erm, I go give nurse.” “You took my food to her?” “I give her small.” “And you came back with the food. What were you doing there since if she did not even eat the food?” Chisco said nothing. Instead, he looked his brother straight in the eyes. It was then that Achike believed. The defiance in the look. “Is that what I brought you to Lagos to come and do? To be cooking food for ashawo. The ashawo that nearly removed your eye and made me to run helter-skelter in the middle of the night?” “No call her ashawo brother. Stop am.” “What? Is it me you are talking to?” “She no be asawo. No talk am again.” Achike charged towards Chisco but tripped on the leg of the center table and fell and hit his head on the door handle. He stayed on the floor and to Chisco’s surprise began to cry. “Carry your bag and get out of my house.” “Wetin you talk brother?” “I say get out!” Chisco knew his brother enough to understand that his fate was sealed the moment the words left Achike’s lips. He felt sorry for Achike but there was nothing he could do now. He just shrugged and said “Okay. I go go.” Later that evening, Mama Akunna resumed her ogogoro business in front of Agbonyibo’s shop. She was surprised to see the large turnout of customers on the first day after a long break from the business. Most of the customers were also customers of Agbonyibo. They sat and drank ogogoro after which they entered Agbonyibo’s shop and come out clutching raffia bags and leaving in a hurry. There was always some commotion in the shop before eventual quiet before the client would step out and leave in a hurry. Mama Akunna then understood why Agbonyibo wanted her in front of the shop. Something went on in the shop before a customer got what they wanted and whatever it was, Agbonyibo did not want the rest of the compound to take notice. Compound members avoided the ogogoro customers as a rule, so no one paid attention to Mama Akunna’s business and so no one would be bothered about whatever it was Agbonyibo did in his shop. At the moment Mama Akunna gained illumination of the whole thing, she nodded to herself and glanced at the shop. Standing there and regarding her with an icy stare was Agbonyibo, who only seconds before was inside the shop. Mama Akunna quickly looked away and continued doing what she was doing. It was the first time she saw Agbonyibo in real life when he was not smiling. It was not a look Mama Akunna wanted to see again. TO BE CONTINUED |

doctor306, benpuzzy, Dmajor100, samkuks, Issedy, Kendrickmykell, jonily ...nice to have you join us. Poisonivy01 show your face. sheycrown...why? ![]() OUR TURN TO SHINE “He has no fear. Our presence will do nothing to him. But we will make the environment uncomfortable such that he cannot get up to harm you. We will do this every night for one week, after which he will give up trying to harm you at night because he will think it is impossible. In the daytime, just stay away from him. And if at any time he manages to get to you, that will be your luck. You are living on borrowed time as it is.” “Okay.” “You can come and use the front of my shop for your ogogoro business. I will need you there.” “Ah, I have stopped that since I repented.” “Everyone knows you did not repent. And Esther will tell them why she threw you out of her room. The best thing for you is to make good use of your remaining days. With the business, you can at least be able to fend for yourself and Akunna will not come and harm you in front of my shop.” “You are so sure of my end. Is it Akunna that will kill me?” “I don’t know. But I see a dead witch when I look at you.” Akunna felt the presence in the room. The swiftness of the movements threw him off kilter. He was pinned before he could collect himself. His breathing became hard and labored. Perspiration soaked his pillow in seconds. “So you came with your friends Mama,” he said. He opened his mouth again but nothing came out this time. They moved in a strange formation and he experienced blackness around him that he had never known before. He was not afraid. Only that he was paralyzed. He expected to be free in minutes. So he waited. But minutes became hours and he lost track of time and drifted to oblivion and by the time he awoke, everyone had gone to work and children had gone to school and it was only the usual lot that lazed about the compound that he found. He did not find his mother. This went on for a week. His bed was his prison at night and his mother was as evasive as smoke in the daytime. So Akunna decided to let her be. Her sentence was already in her fugitive existence. He knew one thing, however. That she would make a mistake sooner rather than later. “You want to go and learn how to take care of animals” Papa Efe repeated and stood up. “Yes papa” Papa Efe gathered his wrapper, tightened it around his waist, and took two steps past Irikefe who was breathing like someone who had just completed a 400 meters race. The old man shut the door, spun around and grabbed his son by the belt and planted knock after knock on his head. Irikefe yelped and howled and struggled but his father was too strong for him. “Papa what did I do? Papa! Papa! Wetin I do?” Papa Efe left his son in a heap and then he took his seat on the bed and watched Irikefe checking his head for blood. “You are a useless child. This na why I send you to Warri before. Because you no get sense.” “But papa, I have a passion for animals.” “Thunder fire your mouth dia! Passion for animals. Since when?” “All my life papa. Only you never noticed.” “Now listen to me. If I see you near that man pikin, that new gal, or the man himself…even to greet dem good morning. I go konk that devil wey dey push you comot for ya head and then send you go give my sister for Sapele forever. You hear me?” “But Papa.” “Papa what?” Irikefe stood and continued to rub his head and then said “wetin come concern the man pikin inside this talk? It is not what you think Papa.” “Dem no dey teach old gorilla the road for inside forest.” “What do you mean Papa?” “Na me born you. Na from dis my preek you come out. Do as I don tell you. I dey watch you. Any kpekem. Say bye bye to Lagos.” Papa Efe then put his hand under the bed and pulled out his old travel bag. He rummaged through and brought out another neckwear with a different charm pendant. This one looked like a black palm kernel held by a thick black thread as well. “Give me the other one,” he commanded. Irikefe removed the one he was wearing and handed it to his father. Paper Efe stood and collected it and put the new neckwear on him. “Dem no born that animal well” He said. “Josiah go soon pack. Na you go take over the shop. By next month, I want to see new set of executive chair that you use your hand make. You hear me?” “Yes Papa.” “Now disappear from my front.” Jonjo shook both their hands and tapped Ndifreke on the back. He no longer gave Maya a second look. He was now businesslike and professional. “I’m signing you on guys like I have said. From today, you belong to me professionally. A few things to note. You must keep yourself like you are now and better for the next two years. If you are good and stay fit, I will extend your contract. You will earn enough to keep a nutritionist and a physical trainer. I’ll introduce you to a guy who will be taking you through the kind of exercises that will keep your body in proportion to the kind of styles you will be modeling. Even though I do mostly foreign outfits, I dress the quintessential African, and so you will need to keep your hips over forty inches Maya for example, and Ndi you have to bulk up some more. I will put you in a class for a month to hone your verbal and non-verbal communication skills and facial expressions, body language, posing and confidence training. For the moment, here is a voucher for one weekend getaway at Fourpoint by Sheraton Lekki. My representatives will meet you there on Monday morning before you check out to sign the contract and after that work begins. Once again, congratulations.” He shook hands with them again, turned, and walked away. They watched him leave in a waiting limousine. An Uber took them to the hotel. In their luxury suite they found two boxes full of clothes, toiletries and everything they would need. There were clothes in the wardrobe too with a note pinned on the wardrobe saying everything belongs to Ndi and Maya. “Tell me I’m dreaming Maya.” “No you’re not Ndi. You are the most handsome man in the world. This is your reward.” “Just like that?” “Just like that.” He looked around the luxurious environment. It was a junior level suite with a lounge and an amazing window view of the Atlantic Ocean. They had a bedroom with a double bed and a full bathroom. There were two flatscreen TVs with satellite channels, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom, coffee maker, safe, pillow menu, bathrobe, slippers and the lot. Maya did not take her eyes off him as he tried to let it all sink in. He stopped at the window and turned and looked at his beautiful girlfriend who was also looking at him as if he just fell from the skies. Then he rushed to her and she jumped into his arms and they clung to each other kissing and giggling like a pair of lunatics. “See what your jealousy brought us?” “Woe unto he who says lovers should not be jealous,” and they continued to giggle. “If this did not happen, maybe we would have broken up. Because you would have died seeing how other models and photographers and everyone interact. No one wants to know if you have a boyfriend or not.” “Let them try it now and let me see.” “It’s different now Ndi. We are elite models now. We only work for one client and our sessions will be specialized with minimal stress. If there are others around, they will always give way.” “You’re beautiful Maya.” “And you’re so handsome.” They kissed again and Ndifreke scooped her and headed for the bedroom. They kept giggling and then she said, “Shouldn’t we eat first?” “No we won’t. I want to make love to you in this glorious place first so that if it is a dream, we would have had the best experience of our lives before I wake up.” “It’s not a dream honey; it’s our turn to shine.” Chisco arrived from the market and hurried to the kitchen and made catfish pepper soup with ripe plantain and yam and scooped a big bowl full and took it upstairs for the nurse. She sat in her bed in the lotus position wearing a bum short and a sleeveless tummy length top and reading a medical journal. He knocked and she invited him and he placed the bowl on the table and opened it. Delicious steam rose from it and Nurse Jo closed her eyes and inhaled exaggeratedly and they both laughed. “What have you done Chisco?” “Nurse, I bring you the pepper soup I just cook. I know say you never eat and you no dey like to cook and I no want make you eat that oni rice food today.” “Awww, you're so sweet Chisco.” “Thanks nurse. Make I bring spoon for you.” And as swiftly as a robin he went over to her cupboard and selected a spoon and fork and handed to her. She straightened up and eyed him and chuckled before tasting the soup. She nodded her approval and as he turned to leave she asked him to wait. “Watch me eat,” she said. “Okay” he said and sat on the floor opposite her and kept giggling as she chewed a piece of hot yam or plantain and the open her mouth to let out steam.” “Chisco. It is delicious but too hot.” “E good to chop am as e hot.” And she opened her mouth to say something again she held her throat and her eyes turned red. She made the gesture that she was choking and he rushed to her and picked her up like she was a plantain leave and looked into her dimming eyes. Then he remembered something from a movie he once watched of a choking scene where an old woman spun a choking man around and held him from behind and put her arm round him and scooped his stomach inward and upward until the piece of food dislodged. For the one month that followed Chisco and his siblings will put food in their mouths and perform the move and each time the piece of meat or fufu would fly out and they would clap for themselves. It was all he could think of then. So he spun the nurse around and did the same and after four scoops, the piece of plantain flew out of her mouth. She then coughed and then asked for water and he handed her a bottle he had kept close. Then she noticed he was standing uncomfortably and she looked and saw that he was trying to hide an erection. She burst out laughing and tears filled her eyes. Chisco turned to go. “No Chisco. Wait.” He stopped but did not turn around. She stopped laughing seeing that he was embarrassed and moved closer to him. He moved forward and stood at the door and so there was no way the nurse could see his front side. “Who taught you to do the abdominal thrust Chisco?” “I see am for film. Me and my brother and sister dey use am play.” “You have once again saved me Chisco, and once again you did something I never would have thought you knew how to do. I learnt that at the nursing school.” “Na my faut nurse. I make you to dey talk when you dey eat.” “It is not your fault Chisco. I choked. It happens.” “Sorry nurse.” “Why are you backing me Chisco?” “Sorry nurse.” “You don’t need to be embarrassed. I understand.” “I go come take the plate later” he said and reached for the door handle. With a practiced move Josephine stretched a hand beyond him and pushed the door and it jammed lock as he held the door handle. And as he stood confused and still unwilling to turn round, she got closer and hugged his back and put a hand in his shorts and found his stiffness. No wonder it stood like that. He wore a loose boxer’s trunk with nothing under and his arousal was so big it lifted the shorts and would not go down. She chuckled and squeezed. He moaned and she turned him around. He still would not look at her in the eyes but she kept her eyes on him and continued to knead his hardness. “Do you like me Chisco?” “Yes nurse, but you no be my size.” “Who told you?” She then pulled down his shorts and his hardness shot out and throbbed. “You are an amazing man Chisco.” “Thank you nurse.” “For no reason, you save me and cook for me and do what no boyfriend has ever done. And when you had the chance you did not take advantage of me.” “I like you nurse. I like you like my sister.” “Then why are you hard now if you see me as a sister?” “Na because I no wear pant.” Josephine laughed and watched as he struggled to stifle his moans. “Do you want me Chisco?” “Yes nurse. But you go come dey do somehow if we do am. I want to continue to serve you like my sister.” “What planet are you from Chisco?” “I’m from Arochukwu.” Nurse Josephine left him and took a step backward and removed her blouse and her bum short. Then for the first time, Chisco looked at her. A soft moan escaped his lips but he still could not decide if or how he should act. “I am not your sister. I don’t have a boyfriend now and you are the nicest man I know. Have you been with a woman before?” “Plenty times.” “So that means you know what to do.” “Yes nurse.” “Now do to me as you do to all those village girls.” Chisco then turned into a different animal. Seeing the new look in his eyes Josephine just stepped back and fell into the bed and watched Chisco tear his tshirt and throw his shorts to a corner of the room. He started by sucking her breasts and then kissing every part of her body. Then unexpectedly he buried his face between her thighs and mouthed her. He knew what to do and it pleased her. who would have thought that that also happened in Arochukwu? When he was ready to enter her he made her go on all fours and push her ass in the air exactly the way she was that night when he came in and saved her from Wasiu and Ibadan. He had never forgotten that scene. And he felt good that he was now recreating it honourably. He drove into her and felt himself ascending beyond the earth plane. “Nurse…” He moaned. “Chisco…Oh Chisco…” TO BE CONTINUED. |

toyboy1:Thanks bruv. Nice to hear from you at last. Some have asked permission to post and the condition from me has always been to credit the author, which is pretty standard. This guy didn't https://www.facebook.com/Pheezie-Entertainment-Empire-288445608238711 But this one did https://naijaenjoy.com/2018/11/09/number-225-katakata-street-a... MrBati:Thanks man...It takes anything between two hours and seven days to write an episode. I'll explain. There are times when it just flows and you can put down everything in one sitting. There are other times when nothing is being transmitted and you have to take a walk, grab a beer, go to bed, forget about the whole thing and then come back after a while.Sometimes a sentence a day is a big achievement. As much as writers love what they do, one thing I know is true..."Every writer I know has trouble writing" - Joseph Heller |
