10th – Duracell “Lasts Even Longer”

Have you ever bought batteries just to run out
of life after a few uses? Duracell, Inc and The
Procter & Gamble Company got sued in US by
customers claiming that the companies were
delivering a deceptive marketing scheme and
misleading facts. Duracell Ultra Advanced and
Duracell Ultra Power batteries were more
expensive than regular batteries although did
not provide longer life than regular alkaline
batteries.

9th – Enfamil “Clinically proven to improve
brain and eye development”

Moms are always looking for to the best
healthy foods and supplements to their babies.
When it comes to produce the best ever baby
supplement Enfamil got in trouble by claiming
in 2004 that “Enfamil Lipil is clinically proven
to improve brain and eye development” and
that the other baby formulas were inferior to
this brand. That is a huge claim! Taking into
consideration we are talking about babies eh?
Mead Johnson in the end was fold guilty and
had to pay $13.5 million to another baby
formula PBM, for aggressive advertising
resulting loss of profit. Uow!

8th – Nivea “Bio-Slim Complex”

Would you buy a body lotion that claims
“regular use significantly reduces body size” ? I
guess many women would! Nivea had to pay
$900,000 in 2001 as a part of settlement for
misleading ads , and had to stop producing
“Bio-slim Complex”. Did I hear diet and
exercises works better?

7th – Hydroxycut

I definently love diet pill advertisement, and I
believe attorneys too! Lovate Health Systems,
in 2009 had to recall all of Hydroxycut diet
pills and pay $1.5 million to settle 10
California district attorneys complaint. They
claimed that the company was falsely
advertising its diet supplements , some of which
contained led. Ouch! Look how healthy and
ready for Summer this couple is!

6th – Listerine “Kills germs that cause Bad
Breath , Plaque & gum disease Gingivitis “

Listerine got in trouble claiming that the
product could “prevent and cure sore throats”.
Thus, rinsing with Listerine was as effective as
flossing when it comes to fighting tooth and
gum decay. Using Listerine as a over the
counter medicine in fact wasn’t clinically
supported. Pfizer had to pull its commercials
and change its claims. Another too good to be
true product!

5th – Splenda “Made from sugar so it taste
like sugar”

I am a consumer of this sugar alternative, and
I was surprised to find out that the company
got in trouble for claiming that Splenda “Made
from sugar so it tastes just like sugar.” Splenda
got sued by Equal, another alternative sugar
competitor. Equal claimed that Splenda was
leading customers to believe that its product
was healthier than other sugars substitutes.
Splenda had to change its marketing slogan and
advertising campaign to “no calorie
Sweetener” .

4th – Activia “Helps prevent colds and flu”

Another product claiming health benefits and
endorsed by a TV star! The claim was that
“ DanActive helps prevent colds and flu and one
daily serving of Activia could relieve
irregularity” and “it helps with slow intestinal
transit time” . I am also a consumer of Activia
and I have to say that I’ve never felt any
changes in my “intestinal transit time” . But for
my surprise, FTC complaint about Activia
misleading claims led Dannon to pay $45
million in damages for claiming basically
“ Activia promotes bathroom regular bathroom
trips.”

3th - Nutella “Good for you” not!

Just thinking about the watering mouth creamy
chocolate and hazelnut spread, it makes me
feel like a child again! Nutella got sued by
customers for the misleading claim that
Nutella is healthier than actually is and it “was
a good for you treat.” Ferrero, Nutella’s maker
has to pay $3 million to consumers
nationwide. The company now have to change
the labeling of all Nutella products and its
advertising campaigns due to this lawsuit. I
definently couldn’t see how this super fatty
treat could promote healthy eating. Oh well!

2nd – Skechers – “Shape up while you walk”

Finally the best of all, Sketchers Shape up,
Tone-ups, Resistance Runners (great names
eh? )! Starring Kim Kardashian! It was the shoes
every girl was wishing for. Ummm there we go:
“ New York, NY – Attorney General Eric T.
Schneiderman has announced a $45 million
dollar nationwide settlement with Skechers,
USA, Inc. to end the deceptive marketing of its
footwear products including Shape-Ups, Tone-
Ups, and the Skechers Resistance Runner
athletic shoes. Under the settlements reached
with New York, 44 states and the Federal Trade
Commission, up to $40 million is being
allocated for refunds to consumers who
purchased the shoes, and Skechers will pay an
additional $5 million to the states.” Good try
Kim!
Funny how I’ve never seen Kim Kardashian
actually using these uglies around.

1st – Apple Siri app “poor virtual assistant
performance”

This one is interesting! Frank M. Fazio a is
suing Apple for false advertising, claiming that
“Siri’s commercials are “ misleading and
deceptive.” Fazio bought his IPhone 4S last
November, and he felt that in the commercials
the virtual assistant has a great performance
contrary to the actual operating results of Siri.
Ops! Steve Jobs you’ll be missed!
I was wondering how effective this app would
be as a virtual assistant for an ESL speaker?
These top 10 famous deceptive ads were good
examples that even big companies can get in
trouble for claiming too good to be true
products. In the end, always make sure you are
getting what you’ve paid for!

Someone else's privacy I ڪ not something I'm good in invading, but women can't just keep top secrets to themselves, they keep telling me how they urine in the WC and not flushing! Ha! As if I care? But I think this story I'm about to share would serve as a moral lesson to others. I'm a guy who I ڪ always guilty of been friendZoned, well, It has its own advantages too because it gives me the privilege to explore the women's world and getting more knowledge on how to and not to treat a lady. I once had this female friend of mine who told me she broke up with her guy because she felt she wasn't getting enough from the relationship and that even though she knew her guy cheats, she still loved him anyways. Obviously, I was bewildered that a girl with such beauty and elegance alongside a handful of handsome men queuing up just to put a ring on it will also have a heart rubber? Not all this NL women forming heart of stone I guess (⌣́_⌣̀). To me, she was a perfect woman, she's fair in complexion, she has the almighty coke shape, she's the not too tall not too short kind of girl, she has a kind and fragile heart, she has all the qualities of a good woman and I almost forget to say that she I ڪ a very good cook too... I was stunted when she told me she finally broke up with her Lover (⌣́_⌣̀), she even came to my room crying. While engaging in some sort of discussions with her, lo and behold, she told me they had some misunderstanding quite a long time ago and in an attempt to gain an upper hand, she told him that he was very lucky to have her and that many guys out there are dying to have her number, not just common men but people of great caliber and of great status and personality far more better than him, also more handsome than him...jeez, I was speechless for a couple of minute. She later told me that her main motive behind those words was to make him appreciate her more, like wtf? How dear you use such words on a guy you dream to have a future with? Cos I heard her say she would ♥ to have the guy's child, and how her surname was going to change to the guy's own whatever. I put myself in the guy's shoes, honestly, if I were to be the guy in question, anything ♥ in me would have been long dead! I just thought no wonder the guy lost interest in her. I had my own share of her abuse too but it I ڪ of no use writing it all here. So to those who could make a sense out of my little story, what are your views? If you were to be the guy in question, what would be your reaction? Also the women, if your man was to dish you this sour soup (⌣́_⌣̀) what will be your reaction? Edited

Its not normal for a lady as well. Being too emotional will always be a minus for anyone and its much worse for guys. Just start taking conscious efforts to control it. Try not to attach too much importance to things. You are probably sensitive too which would only make things worse
