POPE Benedict XVI has been widely considered a conservative religious leader, asserting that Catholicism is "true" and in direct competition with Islam. He riled the Muslim world with a speech in Regensburg, Germany in September 2006, five years after the terror attacks in the United States, in which he quoted a Byzantine emperor who characterised some of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as “evil and inhuman,” particularly “his command to spread by the sword the faith.” Much of the outrage that ensued from Benedict’s interfaith missteps was due to the Holy See’s communications problems: The Vatican under Benedict suffered notorious PR hiccups, constantly finding itself slow to react to news and then reacting with muddled messages that required two or three clarifications before getting it straight. He has stated that other religions are"deficient," and has made a push to bring "the Gospel of Jesus Christ anew to the world, especially in the West." He is also vehemently opposed to homosexuality and the induction of female priests. His conservative vision is a direction his successor will likely continue given that the bulk of the College of Cardinals — the princes of the church who will elect the next pope — was hand-picked by Benedict to guarantee his legacy and ensure an orthodox future for the church. Benedict relaxed restrictions on celebrating the old, pre-Vatican II Latin Mass. He reached out to a group of traditionalist, schismatic Catholics in a bid to bring them back into Rome’s fold. And he issued an unprecedented invitation to traditionalist Anglicans upset over women priests and gay bishops to join the Roman Catholic Church. In doing so, he alienated many progressive Catholics who feared he was rolling back the clock on Vatican II. He also angered some Jews who equated the pre-Vatican II church with the time when Jews were still considered ripe for conversion and were held responsible collectively for the death of Christ. Yet like John Paul, Benedict had made reaching out to Jews a hallmark of his papacy. His first official act as pope was a letter to Rome’s Jewish community and he became the second pope in history, after John Paul, to enter a synagogue. Controversy over the sex abuse cases consumed much of Benedict's papacy, and how he handled it will always be a part of his legacy. Reports emerged in 2010 that Benedict XVI attempted to keep a convicted child-molesting priest in his post in 1985 when he served as a Cardinal in Germany. "Hecited the priest's relative youth but also the good of the church" for pushing to keep the priest in his position, according to The New York Times. In 2011, a group of sex abuse victims called for the Pope to be tried for crimes against humanity for allegedly covering up pleas of abuse at the international criminal court. In November of 2012, Benedict established an academy dedicated to reviving the long-dead language of Latin inside and outside the Catholic Church. He maintained at the time that familiarity with Latin language and culture was of great importance for understanding the bible. While Benedict XVI stressed the importance of some of the Catholic Church's oldest traditions, he wasn't scared to try out some new technologies. In December of 2012, Benedict launched his personal Twitter account (@pontifex) in at least eight languages, including English, Arabic, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. He has 1.5 million followers on his English language account, but he himself only follows eight other accounts. Oh, and they're all his own accounts. #papalswag Benedict XVI will undoubtedly be remembered for the relative brevity of his tenure. The last Pope to resign was Gregory XII, who resigned in 1415 to help end the Great Western Schism, when there were multiple popes vying for the post. Church law technically doesn't permit a papal resignation, if he is mentally sound and not forced out. But it happens. And, according to theological experts, if a pope chooses to resign, under canon law, no one is allowed to tell him he can't. Benedict XVI always cast himself as the reluctant pope, a shy bookworm who preferred solitary walks in the Alps to the public glare and the majesty of Vatican pageantry. And on Monday, the Vatican announced that the leader of the world’s billion Roman Catholics was stepping down — the first pontiff to do so since 1415. The German theologian, whose mission was to reawaken Christianity in a secularized Europe, grew increasingly frail as he shouldered the monumental task of purging the Catholic world of a sex abuse scandal that festered under John Paul II and exploded during his reign into the church’s biggest crisis in decades, if not centuries. More recently, he bore the painful burden of betrayal by one of his closest aides: Benedict’s own butler was convicted by a Vatican court of stealing the pontiff’s personal papers and giving them to a journalist, one of the gravest breaches of papal security in modern times. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=113610:pope-benedicts-le |
Idowuogbo: Wtf? look into 5 to 8 |
5. PM me for a perfect relationship. 6. Start Loving me. 7. We can Negotiate, I will love you for 5minute for 5k 8. Be ready for my love. Pat48hrs may or may not fight you. Be a fighter. |
on your make GO!!! 1. Kill the HOPE:- Why not kill the hope of your phone ringing, meeting him on the streets and even dressing in killer attire to impress him. why have you accepted the death of a loved one and can't still do away with the lost of a relationship? You and I know you will never meet a dead loved one but you still have the hope of meeting your lovi lovi someday. Kill the hope and move on. The main reason people accept the death of loved ones and fail to accept breakups for years is the presence of hope. Pick your phone, call the estranged lover and speak your mind. Be explicit and conclusive. Make sure you have ended the relationship. 2. Face The Reality:- The unusual way of solving a problem is facing it. Why pretend to be in love? Stop listening to slow and even sad love songs. Chat like a single. The right way to get over a breakup quickly is to face the problem and to convince your mind that its over. Cry loud, when its time to cry. Don't hide the feelings. Embarrass your self, to have a cardinal of no going back. Cry when you hurt, as in disgrace your self with a loud cry and confide in people. 3. Recover Faster The only drug for mind problems is speaking into the mind.. Speak to your self, it is not a crime to remember sweet memories you had together but it hurts not to avoid materialized memories. Burn the pictures. Remove the val gifts, birthday gifts e.t.c. Avoid places and activities that you performed with your beloved, at least for the first few months. As the healing sets in the memories will be less hurtful. 4. Have Fun and Be Single Again Have some fun. It could be watching movies, going to the mall, going window shopping, visiting amusements parks, or visiting your favorite ice-cream parlour. Do all the things you couldn't do when you were going around. Things like running errands for your mom. Doing some tasks for your little brother or sister. Meet and mingle. |
obalola7: We thank God... Trusting God for strength in the midst of weakness. How about you and how are you doing?a lot of challenges here and there all in lieu to my unsaving attitude. My people will say its spiritual for a man not to be able to keep money for a long time. But me I don't want to believe in that, more so to my status now. -follower of christ. I have used up my school rent for the second time, yet I must seek, find and pay this same money on the 28th of this month. My attitude towards money is too bad, I'm confessing this as a consideration to see how I can change, I don't really spend on others- girlfriends or even the males close to me, I don't change wardrobes often but my scale of preference is too bad. Buy, eat, buy, eat, I don't beer parlor. Just buy, eat, buy and eat plus unnecessary materials. Do I need prayers or just hard working. I will be in lagos from tuesday for a micro finance bank scholarship, I need your prayers. I don't know how the scholarship will be, but I know I will be able to buy my rent from it. |

oh! What a darling, passes for a leadership tactics. You got the quality dear. Like you have said it all, Genesis is a 50 chapter essay which is the root to understanding subsequent chapters. Thank you very much for this work well done, though my silence maybe affecting but its a prove to admittance, the text of genesis is an undisputed facts in compendium with interwoven realities, the undisputed biblical creation theory; teachings and expression of the effect of Gods dictates and judgment; perfection of his design and choice to individual destiny; the role, importance, blessing or other wise of parental respect; the place of a prayerful individual; and finally the glory of God himself. I want to use this medium to thank you so much for the strength and continuity, God bless you. Discussion! 1.With citations, Where on earth and how came about the saying that God and Satan once lived in heaven? 2. Sorry in generality, the last book of the bible: is it an authority on the preference of the future by God from a writer? Did the last chapter also consider what 'was' before revealing the would be? 3. Rationalize The injunctions that human should never question issues of the spirit, it is no less than a command that every gritty of the text be absorbed without a test of reasonabilty is abysmal in lieu to the effect of the forbidden fruit. Good morning!!! |
