A lot of ladies can relate to domestic violence or abuse because it is more commonly reported. But, though I know it is very embarrassing for us Guys to talk about it even with our best Buddies because somehow it makes us look and feel weak, please, this is faceless forum and its likely nobody knows you personally here, so please speak for the sake of the truth: have you ever been assaulted or abused by a female (wether a colleague, relative, girlfriend or wife)? Please don't just assume "she was crazy" because that's what we guys always say instead of calling her what she really was; an abuser!

I know a girl who runs an NGO thats against domestic violence AGAINST WOMEN. One day we were talking and I said, do u know a lot of men get abused/assaulted too by women? She says, no, in those cases it's the mans fault because women don't just instigate violence bla bla bla. I even went online and showed her some articles that explicitly listed cases of unwarranted abuse against men, by women, but she said "I don't buy it, it doesn't make any sense" which was when I humbly rest my case. I couldn't tell her that I have just come out of a relationship with a hateful, vengeful, angry, and abusive "nice" girl, and I even have two bite scars to show for it. My guess is she would dismiss that too and say it was all my fault or something like that.

Guys, please, for the sake of ignorant people, and the many other guys who may be too shy to take necessary steps, please speak. Lalasticlala, or other mods who may come across this, please put this on FP. It may help other people, because when it's happening u'll feel alone and lost cos it would seem like nobody would understand what you're going through. Thanks.

Read the OP (the first and fourth paragraphs) you should notice that I am angry at a negative ATTITUDE of theirs which I have experienced one too many times (hence calling them bats). wow! I like that point you made. It's deep. But I think if you really look at it, you'd notice that some things are exclusive to our world, not the universe parse. For instance, life. We've scoured the whole Galaxy but haven't found any Life anywhere else. This exclusivity is what debunks the idea that life created itself (why hasnt it created itself anywhere else, all these billions of years. Another big bang should have happened again and maybe formed Leprechauns on some random planet. Do u see this point?) If this were the case then we could say creation is random and autonomous.

But the fact that all of this is EXCLUSIVE to our world means it can't be Random. The details that surround creation shows intelligence. A very superior intelligence to the ones we have demonstrated ourselves with our numerous inventions. This is why people say it's a GOD and not just one old scientist somewhere. Do u get this point too? From the way WE create things, we know that we always have to set things in motion otherwise nothing happens. And since creation shows signs of the same "intelligence" or techniques (Albeit a very superior kind) that we use to create things, then we can conclude that just like there's a mind behind our own internet, there must be a mind behind the universe-ternet. Lol. It's isnt just random, and it is too "planned" to be automatic.

Now, whether this God was himself created is an entirely new debate. Maybe our God even has a God/creator too that he is skeptical of. Lol. Would we know? If I created some tiny ant robots in my laboratory and put a brain chip in their head so that they too can think and create, but their whole termitarium (universe) is just in my laboratory, would I be surprised if they start assuming that they all started out by some random big bang (since they cant see me and have no idea that their whole termitarium universe is just in my home laboratory)? No, I wouldn't be surprised; I'd be AMUSED because I would expect it. And thats just me, a human scientist. If I try to explain to one of the ants that my own world has giant Suns and skies and airplanes that are even much bigger than "almighty" me, the ant would be like huh

So since we haven't even figured out whats in the entire COSMOS or how many other galaxies are our there or if life exists elsewhere or if another big giant world exists beyond our big dark space, how can we try to figure out who or what God is?? This is why that equation stands. The fact that we are still unable to figure out or understand what the ?? in the equation doesn't mean it's not there, it just means our mathematics (thinking capability) is still poor.

I like your argument, but I want you to really consider all I just wrote before replying. Without bias or prejudice, does it make sense or not?

well that's another way to look at it. But I think we can use a simple equation to deduce the logic behind theism (not atheism)

If 2+??=4. What is ??. In this equation we know that there's something there because 2 plus NOTHING cannot give you 4. So even though we need to try to figure out what that ?? Is in the equation, we know for a fact that there must be something there to make the equation complete.

Similarly we can say,

If Evolution + ??= Creation. What is ??. Nothing can be set in motion without a force acting on it (Newton's First Law of Motion) so Evolution cannot just start itself without something setting it in motion (as in, 2 + NOTHING can never give you 4). Which is why theists (different kinds of believers) are always trying to figure out what the ?? Is in the equation. Some say it's God, some say Allah, some say Nissan etc. Who amongst them has the correct answer? Well that's something we may never know. But atleast you can see that they are all right to think that there must be something there, otherwise the equation is INCOMPLETE.

I hope this shines some light on things. Religion is what is Emotional. Theism (the belief that there must be a God ?? somewhere) is very LOGICAL.

Okay before y'all crucify me, I am from a real Christian family and when I was younger we never missed Church services even tho personally I always knew that once I became independent I'd seldom attend any kind of religious gathering except I'm looking for Job, babe, connections, or I just want to "show em what I got grin

(you are a typical Christian- bat- if you deny that u haven't noticed that these are the reasons why most people go to church. The "because I Love God' reason is last on the list). A few days ago I had a religious argument with my Mom which didn't end well with her angrily calling me an atheist (typical) and me running for cover grin

Now don't call me an atheist cos I'm not. I have even had spiritual experiences more than most Christian bats out there and I totally believe in A Supreme God, which may or may not be that same God the Bible was talking about. I don't quite understand atheist who say theres no God because to me they are not different from the Christian bats who blindly believe the load of rubbish they are fed on Sundays. Anybody who is capable of rational thinking (as these atheists claim) would know that nothing has ever been invented or created without an inventor behind it. Name one gadget or system that exists today that wasn't invented by someone somewhere. So u see, the argument that there no God is logically moot.

I haven't read a lot of @seuns post to deduce weather he's an atheist or not, but from there few I've read I can say that I like his rational thinking, something Christian bats are simply INCAPABLE of.

I would not even bother to enumerate the plenty crap Christians SHOULD question if they weren't so gullible and blind because I understand that for most of these Christians, religion is a safe haven from their fears and anxieties. I mean it's better to tell yourself that a lie is the truth if it makes you feel better or gives you hope, isn't it? So I don't blame them. What I hate is their intolerance of people who don't succumb to these lies. Before u know it you are an atheist, an UNBELIEVER, a Satan child, a bad person, and you'll definitely roast in hell fire! Common people, how is this different from the Jihadists who cast judgement on "unbelievers"
It's just like when you say you don't believe in feminism and feminists immediately start calling you a misogynist (woman hater), a chauvinist etc. without any logical reason.

Funny thing is that Christians should realize that the same way they can easily see the CRAP in the beliefs of the Olumba Olumba, the Muslims, the Gurumaharajists, the Hare Krishnas, the Buddhists etc, while those ones cannot see it, is the same way other people can easily see the CRAP in Christian beliefs even though Christians my not see it. So stop feeling like YOU are right; everyone feels that way, which may mean NONE is right.

There is a Supreme God (#fact), but that God may or may not be the melodramatic and very insecure God depicted in the Bible. Open your eyes, bats!

I worship God, the Master of the universe, whomever he is. I may be wrong; he might be the same God. But atleast I have an open mind about it

Theres some truth in this. I know someone who's very spiritual and she always says holy spirit said this or that. I do not have such fears. Homosexuality/Bisexuality are a minority phenomenon and will remain so. You seem to be making the assumption that anyone can CHOOSE to become an homosexual, whereas it is quite more complicated that that. It does have genetic reasons, and the heterosexual will always find it disgusting.

It's most likely a Biological phenomenon (I wouldn't call it a disorder, though), hence natural. There's nothing anyone can do to change that.

Sorry but you are making a blind argument. Once a thing is perceived as a NORM, it would become the order of the day thereby eroding society's natural/original perception of it. It would become NO BIG DEAL! And almost everyone would start doing it without thinking. That's the problem.

Personally I think lesbianism is very much easier to engage in than gayism (Male), as most heterosexual women still have a natural albeit dormant predisposition to lesbianism (aka. A straight woman can be more easy seduced into sex by another woman, than a straight man can ever be...infact I don't even think it's possible for a normal straight man to ever be seduced into sex by another man without duress. So gayism might always be a minority concern, yes, but lesbianism would go over the roof if given the chance) which is why, if lesbianism is allowed free reign, your sister and your female friend may begin to think there's nothing wrong with cucumbering eachother in ur absence....or maybe presence. The reason they aren't giving it a thought now is because they believe it's a taboo to even think of it. Untaboo it, and out goes caution and discipline. See that quote right there...it's a very dumb quote by a very dumb individual. People always make this argument as if Men are the problem of the world. But really, it is the women. It has always been woman complicating life, not man. I put this here because I want some logical opinions on this matter. But ofcourse I'm not expecting ladies to be logical; they would come here now and start complicating the argument by raising unrelated, illogical points based on sentiments and bullshiit instead of just focusing on the real argument. Almost all women are Crazy in that general way (maybe it's puberty that makes them crazy I don't know) but some are even excessively so, you know, the type you date for some months and cant think straight again because u are not sure if YOU are the crazy one?! Any guy who has ever bailed on a girl for this reason would totally understand.

From my experiences in this world, my interactions with guys on a daily basis, and even from history, I deduce that men are rather simple creatures. Most men I mean. The average guy is a straight logical thinker and not complicated. If he has beef with another man, he challenges this man, they thrash it out one way or another, but when they shake hands and walk away in that "Bro" kinda way, then you know it's over. No more beef. Men are generally very logical too; if something is good, then it is, if it's not, then it's not. They don't start changing facts or denying truths just to suit their arguments (some might do, but most dont) so generally, men are easygoing. And they would have less issus in life if not for the complications women bring into their lives (some women are Joy and peace, yes, but most are complications!)

But if you go to an island where there are only women, they would still have tons of issues flying around from backbiting to gossiping to who's finer than who to lying to moody-moody to I don't know what I want to.. you get the gist.

So I totally disagree that men are stupid or are dogs or they are the main cause of society's problem, I think it's women; the things that complicate your life but that you almost cannot do without undecided

The period between starting a music career and getting known (or “blowing”) can be very frustrating for any artiste who has nothing but his musical talent to depend on for survival. He or she scrapes the bottom of the barrel in hopes of getting paid gigs in order to keep body and soul together. And since the art requires full attention, it would be difficult for such a determined artiste to work full-time jobs while doing music, and part-time jobs may be very hard to come by. Also, there may not be support from the family who expects the artiste to spend his/her time doing something worthwhile rather that wasting their life chasing rainbows, and this can become an emotional burden on the artiste who may begin to doubt their chances of success and question their ambitions.

At this point, If they happen to come across any record label willing to sign them, they would hungrily jump at the offer without really considering the TERMS of their contract. Anything is better than Nothing! But fast-forward to a couple of months or years after this artiste has “blown” and is no longer desperate, the reality of their agreement begins to dawn on them when they realize that monkey dey work, baboon dey chop, or maybe they do not have any liberty to do thing they would really love to do, or they have to sing only the songs that the label want, or that they aren’t allowed to collaborate with anybody etc. This can be very frustrating and might even slow down their fame or success.

On the positive side– if the label didn’t help them maybe they would still be languishing in poverty somewhere, hoping to blow while time gradually leaves them behind.

On the negative side– they may have become richer and happier if they had stuck it out for the right opportunity rather that jump at the first opportunity.

So the one advice before signing any record deal is, NEVER GET TOO DESPERATE because you might not like your decision in the long run.
