GOV. ROCHAS OKOROCHA OPENS IMO STATE MICRO FINANCE BANK His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has opened the Imo State Micro Finance Bank for operations with the governor having already successfully secured a disbursable two billion naira (N2billion) Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Micro Small and medium enterprises fund. Opening the Imo State Micro Finance Bank weekend the Governor said his government had taken the initiative because of its believe that “power is incomplete until the ordinary man is made a participant in the economy of that state. That is the reason behind the establishment of this bank”. The Governor continued “today, the people of Imo State now own a bank. The bank is here with us. The Imo State Micro Finance bank is today a reality. With this, the Government House is finally brought closer to all the nook and cranny of the State. Today, with this bank, the crucibles of the Rescue Mission government have fallen on the ground for the ordinary people”. “In Nigeria today, kobo is no longer considered as a medium of exchange not because kobo has lost its value, and not because the CBN can no longer produce kobo through the mint, but because the common man is not made an active participant in the economic affairs of our nation. This is why in the Rescue Mission government we believe in the principle of “Kobo Must Return (KMR)” he added. The governor further stated, “with this micro finance bank kobo again will be in circulation in every nook and cranny of the state. Today, it is no longer the old stories of kidnapping, armed robbery, car snatching, and all kinds of evil because the economic activities in Imo State have picked up and people are economically engaged”. “The Imo micro finance bank is the People’s bank. The essence of all these is to save the lives of numerous poor Imolites while protecting the interest of the few rich. The bank will give loans to the poor widows, artisans, poor traders and so on so that they can grow up to become active participants in the economy. Pension funds will be opened in the bank to ensure that our pensioners get their pensions as at when due”, he stated. “We will open branches in all the 637 autonomous communities in the state. I am particularly happy that this bank has come in the life of this administration. I want to call on well-meaning Imolites, those who have the resources to put some of their money in this bank for the benefit of our people. I am the first customer of the bank. I have opened an account in it and I expect all government functionaries to do the same” he added. “This is a very serious bank. This is not politically oriented bank where you give loans to your brothers and sisters without the political will to recover the money. When you are given money in this bank, we shall make sure you pay back. The bank will service the people of Imo State”, the Governor remarked. Present at the function were the governor’s wife Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, the representative of the Central Bank Governor Mr. Rom K. Aligwe, Chief of Staff Government House, Sir Jude Ejiogu and the Commissioner of Finance Imo State, Chief Ike Njoku who is the Chairman, Board of Directors of the bank. |

Lagos Pastor reveals Rochas would be Nigeria president come 2015 The General Overseer of Galilee Christian Center in Lagos, Prophet Williams Onuoha, has predicted that the current governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, would become Nigeria’s president in 2015.According to him, for this to happen, Okorocha would have to adhere to God’s direction, adding that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency. In a recent interview with Daily Sun, Onuoha, who is seen and referred to by many who attend his church as a highly gifted prophet of God, said he saw the vision in 2011 and now it’s coming to pass. “In 2011, I saw in a vision that the present governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha will be president in 2015. And in one of the national dailies recently, the governor said he would be president in 2015 and that it had been prophesied. True. I had seen this vision, but there are things that needs to be done before this prophesy can come to pass and one of them is that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency.“I have never met the governor before. When he said last week in the papers that he would become president in 2015 and that it had been prophesied, I was not surprised. What I saw in 2011, the governor said in 2014. God is truly wonderful,” the prophet said. Onuoha said he had predicted the global economic meltdown and that a black man will become president of the United States. He explained that he has made so many revelations and all have come to pass. The man of God said: “Three weeks to when the Ebola virus came into Nigeria I had told my members to pray seriously so that the country can escape the calamity that was to befall her. We did pray and by His grace we escaped.“I feel it is time to free this country from the grip of the devil and his agents. Look at our youths; they lack direction. This is because the head is corrupt. When the head is corrupt the body will definitely be corrupt.“Many of our industries today are controlled by the devil. Look at music, for instance. Even some gospel artistes have now fallen by the wayside. This country needs God’s intervention, and she needs it very fast. That is why true men of God should not relent in praying for this nation. Many are no longer with God. Even in the house of God is corruption. Pastors, bishops now preach money. They no longer preach God’s word to the people. When the wicked are in power the people suffer.”Asked how he came about the name of his church, he said an Angel revealed it to him in trance.Recall recently, Governor Okorocha had boasted that he would defeat President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming 2015 elections saying:“I have the capacity to govern the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I must also make it abundantly clear that the PDP and indeed, President Goodluck Jonathan, cannot defeat me in the forthcoming general election.”Speak ing last week Monday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally, Okorocha proudly declared that he would be the president in 2015. Nigerians have started quarreling over yeye again. The release of the centenary N100 note is causing trouble with the removal of the Hausa/Ajami script and Arabic inscription. Well, I think no Arabic should be written on any Nigerian note. Nigeria is secular, government should stop the nonsense mixing of religion with state matters, stop funding pilgrimages and stop all those things that cause unnecessary religious tension. That is one. Two, all the inscriptions written on Nigerian money in Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba must be removed because it is nonsense. It is nonsense because Nigeria has 400+ languages and it makes no sense to write the languages of just three groups as if the nation belongs to them alone. What of the Maghavaul, the Idoma, the Itsekiri, the Chambas, the Jukuns, the Safawas, the Kutebs, the Bwazza, the Chukkol, the Chokobo, the Chiboks, the Manchoks, the Miangos, the Ibibios, are those ones not Nigerians too? So the idea of having Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa on the naira notes is not MOPOLODANI. They must be removed and only English which is the official language and numbers, the language of mathematics be put on the notes, until we adopt pidgin as our official language. As for Oga Ade, he should keep doing what he is best at: causing trouble and dividing the nation. And as for Nigerians, stop fighting over useless matters, over 50,000 of your women die every year during childbirth and almost 11 million of your primary school kids are on the streets. |

Abagworo: Ohakim planned a ring road around Owerri that includes those 2 bridges which Okorocha neglected. This ring road would have made movement around Owerri much easier. Ohakim also started an international conference centre inside a quiet area of New Owerri which attained up to 60% completion but Okorocha neglected it and hurriedly replicated same project at Warehouse junction. After much critivism he has started a snail pace work on the centre. Though the roads in that area have now almost been completely tarred by Okorocha, the centre looks abandoned. work is really going on there dose front glasses wasn't dere b4 |

RareDiamonds: Obiano repositions Anambra as investment hub, attracts $520m in one week 1 By Our Reporter on November 10, 2014 COVER
By JAMES EZE
The efforts of Governor Willie Obiano to reposition Anambra State as the new investment hub in West Africa are beginning to yield amazing results as the state attracted $520 million investment last week.
The investments came largely into the two key areas that make up the governor’s Four Pillars of Development, namely Agriculture, Trade and Commerce. The other two Pillars are Industrialization and Oil and Gas.
What is currently looking like Anambra’s day in the investment began at midweek with a tripartite agreement which the state government signed with the management of Delfarm Limited and Songhai Regional Centre from Benin Republic for specific agricultural projects valued at $200 million (about N32 billion). This was followed up at the weekend with another agreement with a consortium known as the West Africa Intercontinental Trade Centre Ltd., which signed for the construction of an International Modern Market to be located in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area at an estimated value of $320 million for the first phase of the project.
These two agreements have moved the government very close to its projected investment inflow of $1.9 billion before the end of this year. So far, Anambra has attracted almost $1 billion in investments in the last six months averaging $167 million investment per month. These investments justify, in concrete terms, Governor Willie Obiano’s reputation as an entrepreneurial banker and a technocrat of note who understands the terrain of high-wired business and the best steps to bring the investment world to his doorsteps.
In real terms, the Delfarm Limited/Songhai Farms project is expected to generate 150,000 jobs and cut down the rate of unemployment in Anambra and the neighbouring states. The agricultural project is a fully integrated framework that combines agriculture, technology, industry and services with a sustainable working system and seeks to create training and empowerment centres for the youths. On the other hand, the proposed International Market in Ogbunike is designed to accommodate an ultra-modern shopping mall, an industrial park, education and medical facilities as well as a modern entertainment centre. The project will be executed in phases with the first phase creating about 6,000 jobs and 12,000 indirect jobs.
Anambra’s rising profile as the haven for investments in sub-Saharan Africa actually began in May this year when the Coscharis Group made a massive entry into the state’s agricultural sector with $200 million investment in a farm settlement, (the Coched Farms Project) in Anakau, Ayamelum Local Government Area. Since then, Anambra has continued to attract investors as the Obiano administration digs in to force through its reform programmes that are intended to lift the state up to its rightful position as the home of entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa.
Since the arrival of Coched Farms, other agro-investors have followed suit. Joseph Agro Limited, Ekcel Farms Limited had penned down a $150 million agreement to take over the lucrative Omor Rice Mill and farm settlement, while Ekcel Farms had signed $100 million for the production of cassava and tomato in the state. Grains and Silos Limited has also signed another MoU valued at $11 million for a Silos project and finally, Delfarm/Songhai Farms have also moved in. Other investors like Royal Farms and a host of others are all in line to move into Anambra. There are also talks about a high-level collaboration between the Anambra State Government and some agricultural authorities in Bangkok, Thailand, that will finally divvy up Governor Obiano’s promised agricultural revolution in Anambra State. The state has also attracted investments in the area of tourism with Cardinal Developers and Trust Limited leading the charge in that sector with a considerable financial outlay.
Right at the heart of the investment revolution in Anambra State is the pivotal role of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), which is staffed with seasoned investment bankers and financial experts. This agency has made the process of documentation and other otherwise tedious processes of doing business in Anambra State look like a walk in the park. This has encouraged prospective investors who are familiar with the huge markets and great human capital that Anambra has in abundance.
It would be recalled that flagging off this year’s farming season in a ceremony at Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area in May this year, Governor Obiano had firmly set the agenda for his agricultural revolution. Underscoring the importance of agriculture to Ndigbo in his speech at the event, Obiano had recalled: “From time immemorial, our ancestors judged a man by the strength of his arm. A man who could not feed his family was regarded as an efulefu! A failure! That tells us how important farming and agriculture in general was and will always be to our people.”
