@Naijaforeigner, I appreciate your honesty and detailed explanation of things as-is in Canada. I know some Naija peeps that fell into this trap and had to pay through their nose. The fortunate ones that had at least the 1st semester school fees and who were able to get a job got loans at cash money for about 50-60% interest for the period they paid back. So please read and re-read this great info from @Naijaforeigner if you are planning on coming to Canada to school. Its tough studying and trying to get top grades and this could be impeded if you are also struggling with payments etc at the same time. Naijaforeigner: Wait .. I hope you are not trying to come to Canada, get jobs and think of paying your fees via those jobs? For me to give you proper advice, I hope it is not Ontario, London you are coming to? I am not saying it is impossible but make sure you ask the right questions and know the exact province/territory you should be.
You cannot make 2000CAD monthly after tax as a student who is new in Canada except you work more than 20 hours a week. Why would you want to break the law when you can become a PR in 3 years? It is not worth it.
My advice for any hustler is bring money along for your fees and extra change (at least for first semester), don't come during winter because getting jobs for hustlers (if you know what i mean) is harder during winter, choose the right school (make sure they accept installments and you have an idea of duration), province and city. Your location matters a lot if you know you are a hustler. You will understand better when you get to Canada.
Asides fees, there are some modules they will tell you to register for online and you have to pay. I currently have a module where I have to pay 123CAD for online and it is compulsory because there are assignments I need to submit via the site.
Also, choose the right programs. Most Programs with Co-op allows you to work for up to 8 months or even a year. You get paid and work full time after completing 2 semesters with a good CGPA (please confirm from your school the terms and conditions of their coop). This is good because you earn while schooling and get the Canadian work experience as well.
God help us all. |

Sorry about the news. Is your sponsor in Nigeria? Because I have heard if your sponsor is in Canada, its an automatic DENY. Please can anyone reconfirm that? Psychosocial: Guys I got rejected today
Applied 8th November (Paper Route)
Course applied: M.Eng ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING
Linked my application Online: 19th November
Eligibility and Background Checks started 19th November
Correspondence Letter for Biometric Validity: 21st November
Refusal Notification came today: 11th December
There was no message regarding the reasons for refusal, even though I was referred to one. I wonder what the reasons could be. (See Screenshot at the end)
Submitted: Letter of Acceptance S.O.P CIC Forms International Passport Birth Certificate Degree Certificate (B.Eng ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING) NYSC Certificate Employment Letter Employment ID Card Employment Reference Letter Payslips (6months) Statement of Account: #130,000 (Ended October) Tuition fee receipt: 14,250CAD Sponsor's (Sister) Affidavit, Sponsor's Employment Letter (3,500USD/month), (45,000USD/annually) Sponsor's Payslips (6months) Sponsor's Bank Balance: Domiciliary (6,000USD/Ended September), Local (#50,000/September), Fixed Deposit (#2.5m fixed in October) No Upfront Medicals.
Winter Semester starts 7th January, 2019. I had earlier deferred from Fall 2018 to Winter 2019; and the school's policy on deferral is just Once in an Academic year. So I think I'm pretty much screwed at this point. |

Sorry for news bro. That's the spirit. Get your GCMS and refire. God would save Nigerians from the hands of these merciless Nairobi VO. I think what these people are doing now is unethical. How can someone submit an application and it is rejected for the same reason 2ce and third time it is approved for example while nothing significant has changed. Is that not wickedness and greediness? How den take better pass Nigerian police nah? Alinkoo: So I received my passport and this paper today after being Denied on the 19th of last month, VFS and their nonchalant attitude just dumped my parcel, not until yesterday i made contacts and these idiots sent me sms and mail in not more than 30 mins. Well I have applied for GCMS and hoping I get it around this time next month to know the detailed reason they gave.
I have to wait. God will see us tru. Cheers y'all. |

Congrats bro. Please share your SOP draft with me - charlesgccie@gmail.com. God bless you. Justobserving1: PPR!!!! I saw a post about people only posting when they are denied visa and not when they are approved and I felt bad because it is actually true. Anyways I joined nairaland after I submitted my application however, I will state what I did to ease my application
I applied on the 3rd of October 2018, did my biometrics on the 9th of October. Then on the 25th of October I checked my portal and sa my medicals has been updated to passed.
[b]I applied online and I did upfront medicals[/b Then on the 28th of November my eligibility review started, I got a biometrics validity correspondence later same day. Then on the 1st if Decmeber which is a Saturday I got my PPR. I didn’t even know they respond to people on the weekend
Anyways to the important part my documents SOA of 11m I paid my tuition of CAD7,800 I put my father’s companies certificate of incorporation. My father was my sponsor I put his sponsorship letter My bank statement was for 6 months there was also a letter on the statement from the banks stating my father is the sole owner of the account and some other information I can’t remember I also put my fathers certificate of ownership for a land I then put two different valuation documents for a house in lagos and ph
Then for the other information I put my SOP which was very detailed. I studied economics as my Bsc and I’m going for masters in economics which makes my case very easy to explain. I also worked in a good company practicing economy’s I put my present companies offer letter, WAEC, some NYSC documents because at that time I was still doing my NYSC. I put my transcript, TOEFL result because in one of the forms online I was asked if I had taken the English proficiency exam and I selected yes so It made a lot of sense to include that in my document. I got 96/120 in my toefl.
I prayed and prayed and prayed. I checked my portal everyday until I got the PPR. Thank God for good news. It shall end in praise for every other applicant. |
