hahn:Not on this line. I have a personal line which i also chat via whatsapp. i do not wish to display it here for now. Meanwhile, if we talk on this line as alot of people have already called, i could send the other contact privately. |
Watch out for the next topic 'Security Concern, How to Convert an Old Web Cam and PC into a powerful CCTV that can record and play back feeds. You can monitor movements in and around your home or office in real time. One good thing about the Web Cam is that it's not easily noticed (hidden). Intruders may not notice you are watching their movements until they are caught or you call the Police. If the intruder denies, you can replay the video clip as proof. |
phoenixy:Very good observation on the beeping sound. I pulled mine off completely so i dont hear the sound of the ups beeping. I didnt mention fridge as part the appliances to connect Then i also mentioned a 1200VA ups for connecting more devices |
carblognaija:Call me on my contact. The web cam is also a very interesting security survellance system. Sure you will like it |
Ajibolatao:https://www.nairaland.com/3177395/poor-power-supply-how-generate |
jpphilips:Yes i have and that was the reason for the external battery charger to reduce the charging time. Ever read about Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel? |
redcap:Funny enough there are lots of video on youtube for this. I just checked it out and was surprised alot of guys outside this country have been using this. Check these ones out.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX1OQZ1B6m0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJzv5USS8Yw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JE1Hr-2IAT0

investnotspend:Don't do whatsapp on this contact. |
guy1234:The fan is connected to the battery with a switch. The cooling unit is required when the AC current is out. Car batteries have been tested with this and it worked perfectly. on my initial setup, i used a 38Ah (batteries found in keke tricycle) and it worked. But deep cycle batteries are preferable |

Here's my contact 08059985262 |
happen2:Haven't tried it with a fridge or freezer. Only TVs, PC's, Fans light bulbs, home Theater etc
|
Like i said, don't mind the wires, it was tired neatly but had to untie to show you. had to open the 650VA UPS also to show the fan inside. Meanwhile this was the working unit when i was just building the device like 3 years ago but still working till date. The main ones are at home and in the office. You would notice i used a motherboard processor cooling fan back then cos everything was built form my workshop as a 'Computer Engineer' back then. Notice my Cat5 Cables as well as the cable from UPS to battery terminals |
Dymaco:I just opened up a unit in my study to show you a sample of the setup. Don't mind the wires, had to pieces the UPS for you to see the fan inside. Pics uploading soon...!!!!
|
redcap:The space that would be created after you remove the 7Ah battery inside the UPS, position a cooling fan there. Why you need a cooling fan. Because a UPS was not made to run for a long time without AC power, the transformer may get hot so you need the fan to keep it running under normal temperature |
Doyin2:Very well and even more. Your Fan, your energy saver bulb and Desktop Pc or Laptop |
jellyfish86:I can show you what to do online. Its very simple and easy to setup...!! Ok, i will share a number to call just a moment...!!! |
PUSIDRILA:You got me laughing uncontrollably with that one. With the CHARLTECK POWER PACK business, wow sounds interesting...!!! |
Millerz:Thanks for the compliments first of all....!!! You are right. My neighbors use to think I had a 'Powerful Inverter' and always come to charge phones, Ipads and laptops until i told few of them the secret and even showed some doubting Thomas. I had to install for them too Those PHED guys use to also think my prepaid metre was either faulty or I did a bypass until I had to explain my secret. |
youngeagle:Exactly my thoughts, There are alot waiting for his attention especially since he's been away for about two weeks. He should face his work and not his camera...!! |
Dymaco:Thanks |
happen2:What makes the UPS last longer is not the UPS itself but the battery connected to it. You can double the battery instead but be sure the batteries are of same rating i.e 12V 100Ah connected with 12V 100Ah. If you plan to connect more appliances to the UPS then use at least a 1200VA UPS. No need to double the UPS. Not that it won't work, but just that the two UPS's would be sharing thesame battery |
PUSIDRILA:Ok, Why I called it a DIY (Do-it-yourself) project. Discuss with any Inverter Technician in Lagos, they can assist with the physical setup and they know it works perfectly. That's my field of specialization. IT is what I do. Best regards Meanwhile I have another DIY project where you can convert an old Computer Web Cam into a powerful CCTV around your home or office. It gives you extra eyes around your facilities, your home, your Nannies (taking care of your kids without them detecting you are watching what goes on when you are away), your pets (Animal farm, Fish farm etc) from the comfort of your PC and even remotely from the web. It is also cost effective and with only about N40,000 you have 4 cameras working on your PC Web Cam - N2500 X 4 = N10,000 USB to RJ45 Connector (using cat5 cables) N5000 X 4 = N20,000 One roll of Cat5 Cable N10,000 ISpy Connect Software on your PC = Freeware |
Your UPS would work perfectly as an inverter. Its a money back guarantee...!! |
Connect the Battery Cables from UPS to Battery Terminals (Red to +ve and black to -ve). Connect External Battery Charger to Battery Terminals same (Red to +ve and Black to -ve) When the battery charger is powered on, it would charge your battery. Connect a Power extension socket from your UPS outlet (the back of your UPS) to your TV, Radio, Computer etc. Or contact an electrician to locate your ceiling fan, power socket and bulb lines from your building distribution box and connect directly to the UPS |
PUSIDRILA:Port Harcourt Sir |
kaeforum:650VA or better still 1200VA if you intend to connect more appliances. The Computer UPS alone may not charge the batteries to full capacity that was why I added an external battery charger
|
Elose11:See those two Red and Black cables coming out of the UPS? Open the UPS, disconnect the 7AH battery inside the UPS and extend the cables to the length where it meets the battery terminals
|
This simple unit can power home appliances like fans, light bulbs, Tv, Radio and Computer for a whole day. You can then turn on a gen set for only 5mins to recharge batteries and run for another whole day non stop. This saves your daily fuel consumption and electricity bills Modified Meanwhile I have another DIY project where you can convert an old Computer Web Cam into a powerful CCTV around your home or office. It gives you that extra eyes around your facilities, your home, especially those Nannies (taking care of your kids without them detecting you are watching what goes on when you are away), your pets (Animal farm, Fish farm etc) and your office, shop or store from the comfort of your PC and even remotely from the web.

Things you would need: 1. An old but working UPS (650VA or 1200VA) - Free from any computer shop or technician 2. A Deep Cycle Battery from 38AH (Keke Nape Battery N9,000) to 100AH (Truck Battery N20k) 3. A battery Charger N6,000 4. System Fan for cooling of Unit N200 Total N15,200 or N26,200 That is all you need...!!! |
