CreativeWeb:What about for music? i want to create a site where upcoming musicians can upload their music on my website Is it the same process? |
BigBang666:4 batteries of 150ah requires 6 panels of 200watts panel, so 8 batteries will require 12 panels of 200watts Sorry, i operate only in Lagos. |
ib22003:Yes you right, but this same load run perfectly on my sukam 850va inverter which i have been using for years. So i taught the inverter will be strong enough to handle the load |
chris4gold:The quote for Solar Energy The 3.5kva uses 4 deep cycle batteries, you need a bout 8 panels of 200w panels 1 if you are going for the Auxano Products, then its N35,000*8= 280,000 2 Then you need a 24v/80A charge controller = 80,000 3 20 yards of 4mm cable N10,000 (it could be more or less) Total for Solar Energy on 3.5kva inverter is N370,000 excluding the angle bar |
initiate:No. freezer included in the equation |
I bought Euro Power inverter 2 weeks Ago. Its a sine wave 850va inverter. Initially, i wanted to buy su-kam invereter but the dealer told me that it is a Good inverter. At first i was skeptical because of the cheap price and how well it could deliever, then i bought it, now I am facing some problems. 1) Sometimes it automatically Goes in backup mode and come back to mains repeatedly but there was mains current and it is between 210-230v so there is no sense why it goes in backup mode. After repeated mains and backup inverter giving beep sound and shut down and then restarts automatically.. oh this is a head pain creator.. 2) There is annoying fan noise in inverter which may not liked by someone.. 3) Sometimes the trickle charging goes up to 14.2v-14.3v which is high for my battery (Euro Power it500) it should be between 13.7v-13.8v I have to switch off and on the input to correct this error. The good things are that inverter have a lcd panel which gives many information like the mains voltage, battery voltage (while charging and trickle mode both) Battery is charged etc. Can run 4 tube light 4 fans and a tv. (850va) I would recommend never buy EURO POWER INVERTER, please go for Luminous or Su-kam all my friends and family have either Luminous or Su-kam and they have no problem

MicroBox:Like i explained above, the only inverter that takes in 12v is the 0.8kva inverter Here is a pic of my latest installation http://www.charpell.com/2014/12/08kva12v-inverter.html |
MicroBox:There are currently 8 size of inverter ranging from 0.8kva to 10kva. And each inverter size has an amount of battery alloted to it due to the input voltage, for example the 0.8 kva uses a minimum of 1 battery while the 1.45kva uses 2. 1 deep cycle battery is 12v/100ah or 12v/200ah click to see all categories: http://www.charpell.com/search/label/Products MicroBox:Yes you correct. Now imagine you use 2 of 200ah battery for your 1.45kva. if one 200ah battery last for like 8-10 hrs without light, imagine what 2 of those batteries connected in series will do. MicroBox:Ok thats great, whats the brand and make of your rechargeable fan? I think my clients will like this idea |
lofty900:It works only in the day, then the charged battery the solar had been charging will start supplying your electricity till dawn, then the sun comes again in the morning to charge, this way you get 24hrs |
emmyw:You are a good teacher. Help me out, my blog is 6 months old, i write unique content but i noticed that every article i wrote from my blog to nairaland always appear in google first, if i search my post in google, nairaland takes the lead, sometimes i have to scroll to the 11th page before i see my blog in the ranking. How is this possible? |
oluplus:The 1.45kva uses 2 deep cycle batteries, you need about 4 panels of 200w panels 1 if you are going for the Auxano Products, then its N35,000*4= 140,000 2 Then you need a 24v/30A charge controller = 60,000 3 20 yards of 4mm cable N10,000 (you could use less or more depending on the distance from the roof to the battery) 4 Angle bar will be 4 which is N40, 000 (this one is optional) Total for Solar Energy on 1.45kva inverter is N210,000 excluding angle bar visit www.charpell.com for reviews, price and products |
write2obi:The quote for Solar Energy The 3.5kva uses 4 deep cycle batteries, you need a bout 8 panels of 200w panels 1 if you are going for the Auxano Products, then its N35,000*8= 280,000 2 Then you need a 24v/80A charge controller = 80,000 3 20 yards of 4mm cable N10,000 Total for Solar Energy on 3.5kva inverter is N370,000 |
write2obi:i will recommend the 3.5kva inverter all things been equal, However if you can remove the fridge from the equation, then 2.5kva will carry your load Here is a link to read about the 3.5kva and its price http://www.charpell.com/2014/12/35kva48v-inverter.html

osarodon:Thanks |
OracleHex:Sorry i dont have the picture because i have not used one, however i will meet the local welder for a sample |
burticious:Of course you can remove it, the length and breadth of the 125w panel is 3ft, so its not heavy like you think |
Sorry i dont have the picture because i have not used one, however i will meet the local welder for a sample |

If you read the Introducing to Solar Charge Controller and you still dont understand the difference between mppt and pmw charge controller, relax this post is for you. First we to understand how a solar charge controller works. A normal charge controller (pmw) charges your battery bank at battery voltage irrespective of its rated output. for example, a 200w panel rated at 32v, The current will be 200/32 =6.25a 6.25a charging a 24v battery bank, you will get 24v*6.25a = 150watts. but your panel is supposed to be 200w, so (200w-150w) you lose 50w on any given day no matter how bright the sun is in the sky. it even gets worse if your battery voltage is low. Now, lets say you used your inverter heavily overnight and your battery bank voltage dropped to 18v. in the morning your panels will only be outputting: 18v*6.25a = 112.5watts. you lose about 87.5watts! suddenly your 200w panel is only as good as a 100w panel, half what you paid for! now, with an mppt solar charge controller, the charge controller looks at the output of the panels, and compares it to the battery voltage. it then figures out what is the best power that the panel can put out to charge the battery. it takes this and converts it to best voltage to get the maximum current into the battery. most modern mppt's are around 93-97% efficient in the conversion. you typically get a 20 to 45% power gain in cloudy weather and 10-15% in bright sunlight. first of all, what is an mppt controller? an mppt, or maximum power point tracker is an electronic dc to dc converter that optimizes the match between the solar array (pv panels), and the battery bank. to put it simply, it converts a higher voltage dc output from your solar panels down to the lower voltage needed to charge your batteries. for example using the same 200w solar panel above, assuming your battery is low, at 24 volts. an mppt controller takes that 32volts at 6.25amps and converts it down, so that what the battery gets is now 8.33 amps at 24 volts. Now you still have almost 200 watts, your money's worth. 24v*8.33 = 199.92 approx 200w. assume your battery bank voltage is low, it even gets better: 18v*11.1 = 199.8 approx 200w where with a normal charge controller you lose power the lower you batter voltage, with an mppt charge controller, you get more current and your panel's rated power when you need it most. http://www.charpell.com/2015/04/a-laymans-defination-on-pmw-and-mppt.html |
Before i explain the Importance of Miniature circuit breaker or MCB, you have to understand what a circuit breaker is and its relation to a fuse. I have simplified these articles for everyone, anyone can understand it. Enjoy A circuit breaker is protective device which is designed to automatically break an electrical circuit from from flowing to prevent Dangerous electric faults. In a layman's term, it means the circuit breaker will switch off all electronic device when it senses Danger. This fault can be due to over load, short circuits and sometimes earth faults. With the presence of a circuit breaker in the Inverter, it will prevent harm and damages to equipment and personnel. Difference between Circuit Breaker and Fuse A circuit breaker and Fuse perform the same function but they work in different ways. A fuse is a part of the circuit which consists of conductor which melts easily and breaks the connection when current exceeds the predetermined value. An electrical fuse is a weakest part of an electrical circuit which breaks when more than predetermined current flows through it. What is MCB? Nowadays we use more commonly miniature circuit breaker or MCB in low voltage electrical network instead of fuse. The MCB has some advantages compared to fuse. 1. It automatically switches off the electrical circuit during abnormal condition of the network means in over load condition as well as faulty condition. The fuse does not sense but miniature circuit breaker does it in more reliable way. MCB is much more sensitive to over current than fuse. 2. Another advantage is, as the switch operating knob comes at its off position during tripping, the faulty zone of the electrical circuit can easily be identified. But in case of fuse, fuse wire should be checked by opening fuse grip or cutout from fuse base, for confirming the blow of fuse wire. 3. Quick restoration of supply cannot be possible in case of fuse as because fuses have to be re-wirable or replaced for restoring the supply. But in the case of MCB, quick restoration is possible by just switching on operation. 4. Handling MCB is more electrically safe than fuse. Because of to many advantages of MCB over fuse units, in modern low voltage electrical network, miniature circuit breaker is mostly used instead of backdated fuse unit. Only one disadvantage of MCB over fuse is that this system is more costly than fuse unit system. http://www.charpell.com/2015/03/importance-of-mcb-in-inverters.html |
