I find the replies kinda strange Dude expressed his point of view. I understand him. The average girl in Nigeria has the view you should call or pay for an outing or something ridiculous. It's up to you to argue about how variable this arguement is. But I think it comes down to the kind of people you get close to - or stay with. If a guy is a friend to someone and she starts to ask him for money or financial favours, then she is a pest, when it happens most of the time - or when she feels offended that he doesn't comply. It's simple. I think guys throw away something when they don't have the nerves to walk away. If a girl is a leech, walk. |
I read your intro and it’s nice to see you have gotten the attention you desire It’s understandable Most atheist and cult members have come from very strongly religious homes. They know the arguments and clichés – and they also know the imperfect nature of humanity and the hypocrisy many religious folks are clothed in… BUT I know you are not really thinking deeply of what you are saying because you are too angry to care. You are just upset, and I can say this for sure: TIME will help you see clearly. Like Jesus said “Let he that is righteous be righteous still” Cheers… |
It's kinda hard not to notice the Christian/ Muslim twist of things Kinda like the several debates I have had on facebook with regards to Christianity VS Atheism Ok, (Deep breath and readiness for public crucification) Jesus did not come to establish Christianity. Yup, I said it. Having read the Koran - and weighed it as a RELIGIOUS option (which I did not find as appealing as Buddhism AT THE TIME), I was a bit put off by the verse in Sura 19(Maryam): 71 The various interpretations expand on a similar thing about Allah sending YOU (Whoever the Koran is written to) to Hell (or "around it" depending on your translation (there are a few translation and this is not said to void any authenticity of the koranic texts) and then coming later to take you away and leave the unbelievers on their knees. Perhaps if you ruminate over this and send me your thoughts, I will be glad, but I found it hard to get. People talk about the OT God endorsing the killing kids and women and allowing war. Well, I do that all the time, When I play "Age of Empire". You see, when you can create something, it is your exclusive right to take it. But there is a difference between the Koranic approach of "Striking off the head of the unbeliever" (See Surah 3) and Joshua's blood bath. (I can see Christian squirming but if you see battle, it is nothing like the movies. It is bloody) Few people know about the verse that guided Israeli warfare as given by God. Deuteronomy 20:10 The nations were extended an offer of peace BEFORE any warfare. It is EXTREMELY important to note that Joshua was not in charge at this time and those nations that fought Israel BEFORE THIS TIME were trying to eliminate this group of stragglers who had come out of Egypt. The small picture was war - the big picture was that this nation HAD to survive to birth the Messiah and fulfill the promises to Abraham (Ibrahim). It is for this reason when Joshua asks the myopic question to the angel before a fight "Are you for us or against us?" The angel replies, I am commander of the Host. YOu see its not about straight or gay or muslim or christian or any such MAN-MADE side of the fence, It is about a fulfillment of much more critical things in the web of time. The reason why Jesus and the Christian belief holds strong is that there is a PROMISE of the SURENESS of eternal life after death, while Islam gives a HOPE (if Allah wills) that seems to be unsteady. In addition to that, eternal life in Christ starts out here and just continues to another phase - allowing for a relationship with God in the NOW - like Adam had, while Islam, like Judaism and legalistic christianity, places an emphasis on good works and EARNING eternal life with human effort. I am a follower of Christ and this is my line of thinking, hence my views. Arguements RARELY change a person's view of things, so I am not writing to 'win'. There is no battle to win as the Atheist, Muslim, Christian and Christ-follower all have one thing in common - Faith - because NO ONE has the full picture. Only time will tell if that FAITH is based on the right foundation. Cheers |
First of all, I see people getting mad and all at the questions posed and the counter. Truth is, everyone has a right to express themselves and if you get mad when people say shite (pardon my French) welcome to the world wide web. If you get upset by the things I am about to say, kindly take the time to write me a mail, address it properly so it doesn’t get lost and then kindly shove it…er, where the sun does not shine. Thanks Now, speaking JUST to Estrella, let me start by saying, I can REALLy relate with where you are coming from. I was a pastor at some point and then I became atheist – for many reasons. What brought me back to God – apart from His amazing grace and love (in the real sense and not the cliché ways these words are used) – was a lot of study. Science brought me back to God. But let me not bore you with my ‘testimonies’ The answer to your questions is God. The best way to explain is job. Shit happens to Job…major bad stuff. His friends come to him with answers that sound like many guys on this forum…judgmental and sounding like they know all there is to know about God…which NO ONE really does know. So he gets no joy from their explanation….till God shows up. Now notice something. Job is broken. He questions…like you. God shows up…and sounds like a live commentary of National Geographic or animal planet. Job repents…and is satisfied. I have pored over all the things God said to him and found out there is a ‘thing’ that cannot be seen in the written word recorded and that ‘thing’ only happens when you EXPERIENCE God. Now, let me burst your bubble. You will have doubts and pain and brokenness. But there is something. Along the way, your level of sincerity (your biggest pull on GOD) will bring about an answer only He can give. Don’t worry about man. Despite our good intentions, we always fall short because the best of men is at best a man. And when you finally gaze into Elohim’s loving eyes, do tell him I said “Hi!” |
Those who are in 'error', err honestly - and your very topic shows the honesty that leads into error NO MAN IS CALLED TO PROTECT CHRIST'S CHURCH It is only Christ who can build his church while other sheep take turns acting like shepherds and burdening men with dogma - with good intention Trust him to build it, act in love, fellowship with your brethren and make him the centre of everything Protection is NO MAN's job, it will always lead to deadness, |
I think there is a general misconception of rock Nigerian like good music that is not hard to follow and interprete And so much of rock is like that I did a rock remix of Durella's 'Eno O se'. Here is the youtube link of me messing with the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7JrUAOSXfI&feature=related About being demonic, its an extremist view based on a lack of information, understanding and a greater willingness to embrace blind prejudice over a research-based conclusion. Perhaps if anyone who think its demonic cares enough to google the subject, you may come across as a lot less ignorant In my opinion, the market for rock is growing and more Nigerians are getting tired of the cliche hip-hop and dancehall Rock would be a welcome alternative, cheers |
some rock artists who have some international exposure will soon be popular in nigeria there is FLO and a guy called XTsamurai heard them both and they are good and have deep lyrics (two criteria for rock music!) I also hear plans are underway for some sort of test run on a rock concert wondering how that will go |
play a major chord, count four full tones and play another major, then count one full tone and play another major chord then if you really feel like, count one more tone and play a minor chord congrats, you just played ROCK in its purest form, as long as you played it on the guitar ![]() now sing,to the chords "You make my heart ache,, until it quakes, and when l wake to the sounds you make, my innards shake" that ROCK with emotional LYRICS but sing to the same chords (if you have the guts) "Satan, you rule, and all creation falls for you, and in truth so few, have found the wonders of you, " THAT is satanic, Hope in some way, l have helped to answer the question about if rock is evil I will be coming back to Nigeria shortly and will be playing rock music with my band I am christian and some songs will be about the christian way, some will be about love and life, and some will just be about expressing myself, Like HE said "I am come that they might have life, and more ABUNDANTLY" So if God has not said something is evil, do not call it evil without UNBIASED STUDY, if you can ever allow yourself attain it past the fear of man and shallow thinking that plague so many Kind regards, |
yawn here it comes again, people who dont really know stuff spouting unthought out cliches wat is satanic about rock, wat is rock music, it music based on certain guitar passages as well as chord progression and then lyrics, so tell me, where is satan in that, in playing chords or the use of multi-effect pedals? lf you know nothing about something, find out FIRST before spewing words you cannot defend and that make you sound stupid There is nothing like satanic or circular or christian MUSIC, you can have music with satanic or circular or christian WORDS rock is a style, and while you dance in church singing "Im trading my sorrow" , you are completely clueless that that is a rock-styled song I tire for una, |

lm a guy but the truth is a lot of african guys (I am one) are really rubbish in bed and when you read the article, it has the african vibe already - which says if things mess up, blame the woman sex, like any other thing in marriage is about two people. if you want to try out different position, its up to you and your ability to comunicate EFFECTIVELY with your woman. Iv spoken to a lot of women and the feedback seems to be the same - guy thrusts away, only pre-occupied with wanting to come, woman holds the sides of the bed, trying to get away from the smell of his unbrushed mouth and gritting her teeth because the clueless dude has not engaged in enough pre-intimacy to get her motors running and her opening adequately lubricated. bible says it well - husband love your wives, because women are like shaduf (taps you put water into and then pump to get more out) if the quality of sex is bad, most times (not all the time, its the man what you get out of it reflects what you put into it If a man wants to know if sex is good, DONT ask (which is so dumb) if it was good watch her fingers, when its good, they will go around you or grab something when its crap, she may sound like heaven, but they will push towards you, cos you are, basically, shite cheers |
nigger ls you dumb or crazy - or both? gaddemn. l cant even answer ![]() |
Hiya Wend Kuni, What can i say? You have loads of talents, as in a lot of it. But on a more critical level, I noticed three things -Your vocals can be a better. Dont get me wrong, your singing is really really cool, but a trained ear will still hear small lapses -Your mix and final edit for the projects you put on your myspace page also have small lapses, I really liked the second song, personal preference, burning bridges, really nice You have loads of talents, a great voice, good lyrics, you're good to go Look forward to seeing you sometime in Nigeria, and maybe we might jam together sometime, Cheers |
lol, its so weird to me, church, mass, sleeping, whatever, and as usual people advocate you "getting into more activity" and other well worn cliches, Maybe what a bored person needs to do is stop going to the meeting for a while! Before you scream at me, read on. What we call "church" (which are actually meeting) are boring becos its the same 'service' same routine, same jokes, same message, same pastor, the same old (pardon my french) rot! Rot becuase it is "form" that does not satisfy the soul, No matter how juicy, your service or mass is, if you don't get away from the crowd - denominational (or what people call church) crowd for a while to question what you believe, why you believe it, what you really want - God, interaction or gain - you will soon get tired cos man was not made for monotony. What we call church is a far cry from what the Bible talks about. Think about it: There is no reverend or pope in the bible There is no ordination of pastors (cos its a gift) There is no tithing in the new testament (they(the church) had all things in common And besides there were a different types of tithes (see leviticus) including tithes where people ate their tithe! (I bet your pastor never told you that) Jesus and his disciples had no service, they met, played, walked together, same with the apostles, it was like a huge company of friend really unified by faith in Christ. There is no "man of God" implying a special person based on church rank. i can go on and on, but like I said, examine what you believe, get away from the crowd, dare to follow truth (if you really want truth) and even if its a lonely road, Perhaps your soul will find true soul food if you go back to that word, the bible Cheers |
Excuse me logorrhea, but apart from martial arts, my second passion is music, rock music Gamine, if you want to do rock live, you will NEED a good guitarist in your band. (Not some person playing some basic neck chords or makose tunes!) Then the MOST other important thing is you will need to get effects pedals for guitars (Distortion/overdrive is the most important, then you will need wah, flang or some multi-effects pedal), thank God for master card and online purchase, Good luck |
I have been listening to people replying to Gamine. Cool stuff im hearing. Here's my little opinion, First of all, a lot of Nigerian do not really know rock if they hear some versions of rock , like some people say fadabasi plays rock cos he uses a guitar, that's pretty funny. So except you actually say, I PLAY ROCK, people will like your music if its tight. What comes to the mind of a lot of Nigerians when they hear rock is screaming bands like metallica or slipknots, or some hardcore group, but there are more than 12 different styles of rock. So here's my bit to you. If you want to do rock girl, go on and do your thingy, if its good, it will hit. Like someone wisely said, add some "african(thats hard to really define) vibe to it, Can be congas underneath, some lines of yoruba, some poeple dresses in native attire or adding some pan flute to it like a friggin home video, Then, from reading your stuff, you sound a bit new to the terrain. One word of advice "IF YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC SAMPLES FROM A 'PRODUCER (TOO MANY SHIT ONES THESE DAYS), AND YOU DONT LIKE IT, DONT USE THAT PRODUCER!!!" Your rep, career and potential audience are at stake from a lousy job Before I left Nigeria, I had a rock band. Was working full time so it wasnt easy, got to play at different venues, The trick was to do a heavy rock song that's DANCEABLE, and that sets the pace for a lighter song(s) I wish you all the best, dont be swayed by people who say you cant (they say that cos they have not had the balls to do anything tangible themselves apart from criticising others) Cheers |
