Fear of what? Backup your claims with Bible scriptures. mirrael68: God wanted to rid Job of the spirit of fear, ie the stranglehold of the devil. Did you notice Job was living in fear? He would presumptuous ly sacrifice to God for his children should they have offended God, at last he said - " what I feared most has come upon me" Fear and not worship or faith was his motivation for all he did. God needs us to have Faith in him. |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Has Done More For The Security Sector Than PDP Did In 16 Years–presidency by chatinent: 7:24am On Feb 08 |
Gemini posts the propaganda the News blogs carry. I am in Nigeria. I don't need no verification. benardtotti: Comparing the defense spending and arms procurement of Nigeria’s two main political eras involves looking at both the financial volume and the actual hardware received. While the PDP era (1999–2015) saw significant spending, it was frequently marred by "phantom contracts." In contrast, the APC era (2015–Present) has overseen a more visible, large-scale modernization of military hardware, though at a significantly higher cost in Naira due to inflation and currency devaluation. 1. Financial Comparison (Spending Trends) | Administration | Period | Avg. Annual Defense Budget | Notable Financial Events | |---|---|---|---| | PDP (Obasanjo, Yar'Adua, Jonathan) | 1999 – 2015 | N100bn – N930bn | The $2.1 Billion Arms Scandal (Dasukigate) revealed that billions meant for weapons were allegedly diverted for political campaigning. | | APC (Buhari, Tinubu) | 2015 – 2026* | N1.06tn – N5.41tn | Unprecedented "extra-budgetary" interventions, including $1bn from the Excess Crude Account (2018) and a record N5.41tn security allocation in the 2026 budget. | > Note: Although APC budgets appear much larger, the devaluation of the Naira means the purchasing power in USD has often remained similar or lower than the PDP's peak years. > 2. Major Weapons Purchased & Received PDP Administration (Focus on late 2010–2015) Under the PDP, procurement was often reactive and focused on the immediate Boko Haram threat. Much of the equipment was second-hand or refurbished. * Air Power: CH-3 Armed Drones (China), refurbished Alpha Jets, and Gazelle helicopters. * Land Power: T-72 Main Battle Tanks (refurbished from Czech Republic/Ukraine), RM-70 Rocket Launchers, and various BTR-series APCs. * Controversy: The 2015 Arms Probe found that contracts for 12 helicopters and 4 fighter jets were paid for but the items were never delivered or were "substandard." APC Administration (2015–Present) The APC era has focused on a "modernization drive," purchasing brand-new, high-tech platforms from the US, China, Italy, and Turkey. * Air Power: * 12 A-29 Super Tucano (USA - $593M deal). * 24 M-346FA Fighter Jets (Italy - currently being delivered). * 12 AH-1Z Viper Attack Helicopters (USA - $455M deal). * 3 JF-17 Thunder multi-role jets (Pakistan/China). * Wing Loong II & CH-4 Drones (China). * Land Power: VT-4 Main Battle Tanks (China), ST-1 Tank Destroyers, and hundreds of locally manufactured Proforce MRAPs. * Sea Power: NNS Lana (Hydrographic ship), NNS Kada (Landing Ship Tank), and multiple Falcon Eye maritime surveillance systems. 3. Key Differences in "Value for Money" * Transparency vs. Outcome: The PDP era is often criticized for "Ghost Procurement"—where money left the treasury but no weapons arrived. The APC era is characterized by "Visible Procurement"—the weapons have arrived and are being inducted, but critics point to the fact that despite these multi-billion dollar assets, insecurity (banditry and terrorism) has expanded geographically. * Sourcing Strategy: The PDP relied heavily on Eastern Bloc (Russian/Ukrainian) and Chinese equipment. The APC administration successfully re-opened the door to U.S. and European hardware (like the Super Tucanos and Italian M-346s) which had previously been blocked due to human rights concerns (the Leahy Law). Current Status (Tinubu Administration 2023–2026) President Tinubu has further accelerated spending, with the 2026 Budget earmarking N5.41 trillion for security. His focus has shifted toward precision-strike capabilities, recently sealing a $346 million deal for over 1,000 MK-82 precision bombs and rockets to maximize the effectiveness of the newly acquired jets.
Even Gemini agrees with the Apc . |

The forest kept shrinking, yet the trees continued voting for the axe, because the axe cleverly convinced them that, since its handle was made of wood, it was one of them.
The forest will reduce in toto until it becomes so difficult to keep defending the axe.
Nigeria could be fixed in less than six months, if the genuine will to do so existed. However, how can one expect those who rigged their way into power to dismantle the very system that benefited them? Why would those who paid fortunes to secure their positions seek to repair what they purchased? The profound truth is that until public office is made less attractive for personal gain, and until established corrupt figures face the ultimate consequence—not merely a prison sentence, but execution—corruption will be never cease to exist. And like an old grandmother forced to learn to walk again, Nigeria will continue to struggle and falter.
A fish rots from the head down. The head is extremely corrupt, what do you expect the body to be?
The painful reality it that the top contenders are still very corrupt...like from the frying plan to the burning furnace.
I vote for the public execution of established corrupt people...starting from the godfathers.
Without these radical changes, the nation’s painful journey toward functionality will remain endless.
