Consider 2plot of Land close to a good higher institution, Like FUNAB, OOU, MAPOLY, TASUED, to mention few where land is not up to a million. Build barracks , Barrack no dey empty is a year thing.

Oga chekitaut, are you telling him not to use guage for his plastering? It's better to use guage than not to use guage. Nothing is 100% in a human job. But it's closer to excellence than not using guage.

So many people do not consider using concrete in construction of Bungalow.
setting 6 or 8 blocks to the window level without a concrete support can render the building useless

Consider first small raft of one board, DPC, Chain lintel or roof beam.

Iron rod to many is expensive.
Concrete work is expensive

Soil is Soil once you carry out excavation, water is applied it will always settle with time

Soil settlement can cause it
absent of columns can cause it
Absent of DPC
Roofing weight
Mixture of moter.
Quality of Block

Q1 - Yes. Q2 - You can not know, screeding is mostly use to cover it up, also dsame screeding is not 100% perfect, Dust is the only way to show it

My Chinese friend use long plum and a stick of broom, if the stick of broom pass through or light, bad job.

Hence, plastering can not be achieve 100%

Whats the meaning of gauge ? when bricklayers says that they will collect gauge, this is in the context of external wall plastering.

Also when i want to hang something on a wall, i usually use spirit level to ensure that its straight, although if ones walls are a little wobbly, i find that even though your spirit level is straight, to the naked eyes it wouldn't look straight. Is this what they mean by gauge ?

This type of plastering is the most sensitive one, not the Dabo method, materials will be consume and the bricklayer is possible to plaster a place more than 3times, is a plum plastering, in most cases it is never achieve 100%.
