Shine1177: Tanx. I once sent you a mail few months ago and your reply was so encouraging.Seriously! I can't remember that again. |
Dare14: whats the passport photograh size for tourist visa for sa?Too much of questions can be misleading. Go there with any passport photographs, there are better things to check than what your passport looks like. |
Shine1177: I just got my admission letter for MTECH in the mail while waiting for SAQA, seems SAQA is not necessary at DUT. I should be in the republic by January 2015.congrats and welcome to SA. |
TYPOP: No, I didn't finish from AAUA. However, the person I was applying for finished from there.Ok, that is where I work. |
samtol4: .There is no short cut or fastest means to obtain work permit anymore in SA.The new immigration compel applicant to apply in their home countries ,in that perspective one of the document required is letter of employment and other documents which are not easy to get within short period .Coming to SA for short course and apply for work permit is 100 percent not possible. Is it possible to even get a job in SA from Nigeria when you don't have the required skills? It is better to acquire certificate in SA through MSc, PhD or other relevant skills and use it to source for jobs in SA than to apply directly with Nigerian certificates. I don't know if there is any other sure ways of coming here than the study permit; people should shine more light on this so that others will learn from it. I have limited knowledge of these jobs eish may be because I'm far away from happening towns. |
luvola: I repeat ,Johnson and Allen are liability in this team. why starting allen when u have markovic on the bench. bredren Rodgers is high on weed.Glen Johnson should be permanently seated on the bench, don't see why he should be included in the match. |
Rikidony: who scored for CITY folksjovetic |
samtol4: .Treat any malaria or typhoid very well before boarding to SA because any small. Sign of ebola they will keep u aside for 3weeks for surveillance to confirm if na EBOLA which can be traumatic! They have stopped flights from Liberia ,Guinea and Sierra Leone and now there is increased checking on flight from Nigeria and Ghana, hence they may use this excuse to deport innocent people .Thanks for the information provided. |
TYPOP: Apologies sir. Just to clarify some minor mistakes. SKA is the one not open to us. NRF/DST is open to us. If you qualify, kindly apply. If you are on 2nd year masters, don't bother.Go and check all the NRF/DST scholarships very well and you will see what I'm saying. We have the full lists in my lab and only the Rhodes Prestigious scholarship is made available to nonSA students. Besides, most of these scholarships are done through your Universities and you can't benefit from them single handedly. The first question they always ask us at the PG Funding of my school is "Are you South African?". Even the so called NRF/DST DAAD in-country was specifically meant for SA students. I don't have problem with all of them because my supervisor who is a DST/NRF Chair made them available to us depending on area of research you are working on. |
TYPOP: Not quite bro. I called SAQA last week for an application. Apparently they sent a mail to Akungba's registrar and are still awaiting reply. Some delays are caused from Nigeria.Did you finish from AAUA? The HESA application has been with them close to 2 months now without any response coming from them. |
harlyon: . Nigeria wasn't included.I watched it in the news today,,.!. LIBERIA,SIERRA LEONE AND GUINEAThank you for this information. I can't afford to miss my family most especially our new baby. |
deolama: Pls, where do I get the certificate of conduct from.certificate of conduct? I'm hearing this for the first time. You mind explaining more on what it means? |
TYPOP: Not true. Things run faster than in naija. And you may not need to "push" it.Things are changing now in SA, it seems they are purposely holding on to applications in other to frustrate prospective applicants to SA universities. I submitted HESA application since 4th of July and still waiting endlessly to hear from those goons. I'm waiting for them till monday when I will send them offensive mail for holding on to the application for processing that shouldn't take more than 2 weeks. Btw, I heard SA has suspended flights from Ebola ravaging countries, how true is this and what will happen should I/anyone decide to travel to Nigeria in December? |
elume2020: For our brother from other African countries who are members of this forum and in particular this thread. Please read below and apply.Nigerians have made meaningful contributions in terms of quality and novel researches than any other African countries wonder why we are excluded from many NRF/DST scholarships/bursaries. There is African Laser Centre scholarship/bursary ongoing right now. It is meant for those that are in Physics/Physical chemistry fields and make use of Laser radiation in their research works. The scholarship is open to all African nationals studying for MSc/PhD in South African Universities. |
samtol4: @chemasie .....did u see my BB request please accept let flow .You must have sent it to my former phone use the one on my signature thanks. |
TYPOP: They use style talk am o. "After study permit, you don boost our level, now go back to your damn country and leave us in peace". LOLgive us some info on the said meeting. I don't think SA is a better place to live after my PhD programme. |
From my knowledge of nanoscience and the nanoparticles that have been synthesized in my laboratory, nanosilver is a good pesticides and I have not seen in any literature where it was used to treat viral diseases. I will only believe the drug to some extent if the drug is to be administered in vitro rather than in vivo. |
Nice ride! |
@samtol4, plz add me again on my new PIN. My BB is acting funny. |
bayusman: Are you also interested in studying there, if so what school did you put in to and when are you planing on leaving..One guy was updating a thread about the country how he started looking for information and how he eventually got to the country. Our Over zealous mod gave the guy tough time then. You can search for the thread if is not among those that were wiped off between Jan to June. |
suxes2005: I also tried to check for you but its downThe site is down for some days now. I would like to visit the country from SA if everything work well for my lil sister. |
ukraine55: UTM deadline is 31 july 2014The website is not going for a while. Drop information on the tuition fees and other fees for a whole year. Also, how many years is their undergraduate programs? |
What is the admission processing like to UTM and the yearly tuition? I sent you a mail sometime ago. Can you give the details here and when is likely to start applying for admission to UTM? |

Manager007: Oga Chemashie,It was a nice experience, never knew the sleepy Grahamstown can come to live with influx of people from different places to witness the festival. My program is for 3years and this is my 1st year. Thanx for checking on me. |
Where is Guyana located on the map and what about coming for tourism alone and not to look for job or stay permanently? |
omepower: Please is true that once your admission letter has been issued to you, that you have only 30days to Apply for study permit??Lol...I received my admission letter on 3rd of June, 2013 and applied for Study Permit on 22nd of January, 2014. There is nothing of such provided your admission states the year to resume. |
yinchar: @Samtol4, please what did you meant by embassies in Lagos and Abuja are not collecting study permit application again?....Please kindly explain further when does that starts, because am going to Abuja on Thursday to submit my study permit application for my PhD programme. ThanksI think you have a chance when you go to the embassy and explain yourself to them. Don't discuss with the security at the gate or else you will be turned back. You submit from monday to wednesday anytime from 11 am. |
antontech: I never finish my MSc , hope I can apply. You can send your application as a Graduate Assistant and hope to finish with PhD grade. |
samtol4: @chemaasie (baba Rhodes) .abeg let more Naija people come your lab to follow share in dis goodwill offering of your supevisor .Abeg post the admission process here let more Nigerians come to your school .Hope your fees are friendly ?Anybody can get the funds in any school in SA provided your supervisor is ready to put mouth in the application. My supervisor do this for us because of the number of students (about 34) in her lab working on different areas of chemistry. I can't recommend anyone to come here cos the research is intensive and my supervisor requires MSc students to have minimum of 2 published papers and PhD students at least 8 papers in international journals before you can graduate. Publishing one paper on synthesis of supramolecular compounds and their applications can be frustrating sometimes let alone 8 papers in 3 years. The moment you enter our lab your social life automatically becomes zero and your life revolves round the laboratory for the next 3 years. There are numerous funds for us and you also have the opportunity to travel out for 3 months on student exchange programs the same way people come here to carryout research in our lab and use our equipment. The only place I knew here is my house, my lab, checkers/pnp/PEP; That tel you how tight my schedule is in G town. Other supervisors in my dept don't even request for papers before you graduate. |
samtol4: Nice one .I was about to post the NRF stuff. please guys apply for this grant /funding.thanks brodaOne may not be considered if you apply for it on your own most especially when you are not from SA or SADC. The best bet is for your supervisor to do that on your behalf. That's what my supervisor does and give the funds to us in her lab. She attracts numerous funds and give them out to her students. I am a beneficiary of the funds and we must acknowledge DST/NRF in all our publications. |
