Towards the end of former President Goodluck Jonathan ’ s administration , former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison -Madueke , was appointed Commissioner for Trade and Investment by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of the Commonwealth of Dominica and was handed a diplomatic passport . This , perhaps , is why Diezani has been able to evade prosecution despite being in London for over four years . According to Qatar- based network , Al Jazeera , the former minister may have purchased a $ 2 . 2 m choice property near the United Nations in upscale Manhattan , New York , for the Dominican Prime Minister in order to obtain the passport . In a documentary titled, ‘ Diplomats for sale ’ , Al Jazeera reveals how politically exposed persons , including leaders of international drug cartels, purchase diplomatic passports from Caribbean countries for a fee which ranges between $ 250 , 000 and $ 2 m depending on the personality involved . The bribe is usually paid to the leader of that country who then appoints the buyer as an ambassador or a diplomat. The buyer is subsequently issued with a diplomatic passport which gives him or her immunity from prosecution based on the Vienna Convention of 1961 . According to the news agency , shortly before Diezani left office , there were already reports that she had allegedly stolen billions of dollars . Worried that the incoming President Muhammadu Buhari ’ s administration might probe her , the former minister allegedly fled to London and obtained a diplomatic passport from the Prime Minister of Dominican Republic himself . The report stated , “ In London , she ( Diezani ) is personally handed a Dominican diplomatic passport by Prime Minister Skerrit ; a passport which could shield her from criminal charges . We found documents showing a few days later that a shell company is formed in Delaware , an American state where laws mean the true owners of a company are kept secret . “ Four months later , that shell company buys a New York apartment for $ 2 . 2 m with no mortgage . Property records confirm that the prime minister ’ s wife , Melissa, was a resident . Photos placed the Skerrit family there. Both Diezani and Skerrit deny any links to the company that bought the apartment . “ Skerrit said the family resided there due to a kind gesture by an unnamed friend of his wife . He strongly denies any wrongdoing and says he didn ’ t demand or receive any money from Madueke . ” The 53 - minute documentary also shows how countries like St . Lucia , Antigua and Grenada all in the Caribbean carry out such “ diplomatic passport for cash ” scam. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had in March lamented the slow pace at which the United Kingdom was handling Diezani ’ s case . https://punchng.com/diezanis-dominican-republic-diplomatic-passport-protecting-her-from-prosecution-report/

Being successful is everyone’s dream. However, not all people know the secrets of being successful. As the sole architect of your destiny, you need to make sure you’re utilizing one of your greatest tools: your own voice. It’s that inner voice will help you formulate a plan and drown out the external voices of critics and naysayers. Your voice holds the power to boost your confidence and help you both navigate and learn from setbacks when they occur. Be very honest with yourself, Is your own voice joining the negative chorus of doubters? If the answer is yes, you’ll need to reprogram your thought process by telling yourself some certain things on a daily basis for the rest of your life. Here are eight things you should tell yourself every morning to realize your dreams. 1. God Is Always With Me God is the provider of everything. Starting your day with Him is the best thing that can ever happen to you. Always remember God in everything you do and success will come your way. 2. I Must Do it Now Procrastination is like quicksand. If left unchecked, it will pull you into a quagmire of crippling indecision. You’ll make excuse after excuse that will eventually foreclose on your dream. If you’re continually telling yourself it’s okay to do nothing, then nothing will be what you achieve. Instead, allow your inner voice to motivate you from morning ‘till night, and fiercely commit to your dream with a sense of urgency. Remember, the difference between “could” and “did” lies in planning and action, so become your own greatest coach and advocate for change. Don’t take no for an answer, especially from yourself. 3. I Am the Best If you want to achieve something, first believe you are the best for it. Believing in yourself will bring you success in the situation that you saw hard. It is good to always believe in yourself for self-motivation. 4. I won't Quit. Anybody can quit when things become difficult, but that is not the way to become highly successful. Even when times are hard, successful people stick at it and keep working. Try to think of your end goal, and how every day you get closer to achieving it. Ask yourself: Do i have to quit or do i want to quit? If i quit now, is there a chance i will one day regret it? 5. I Am a Winner To be successful, you must believe you are a winner. Having this mentality will make everything easy for you. If you believe you are a winner, then obviously you will win. 6. Today is My Day Have you ever told yourself this is my year? Okay, the same you want it to be your year, make every day your day. This will bring success even close to you. Always believe this day is your day to be successful. 7. I Deserve This Whenever I meet someone who’s allowed their dream to derail, or who appears to be passing up opportunities for personal growth or improvement, I always ask why they don’t deserve their absolute best. If you’re among the folks who are settling for anything less than the success you dream about, you simply must get out of your own way by escaping your dangerous comfort zone. Whatever your dream may be – whether it’s pursuing a career change you’ve always wanted, or finishing your degree, begin by reminding yourself that you deserve a brighter future, and then invest in yourself. By giving your all to you, you’ll never cut corners on what’s most important: your happiness. 8. I Can Do It Yes, I can do it. This is always the best thing you can tell yourself in everything you do. You can do it will give you morale and motivation. Fear of failure, including the inability to reclaim your forward momentum after a set-back, is one of the greatest obstacles to success. And it’s one that can often be effectively addressed by empowering your inner voice. We all have fears, but we can’t habitually make fear-based decisions, or we’ll never reach our full potential. If we allow fear to paralyze our progress, we’ll create a blueprint for mediocrity, and miss the priceless lessons only trial and error can reveal. Make sure your self-talk is stronger than your fear. Daily you must relentlessly affirm, “Yes, I can!” I understand overcoming fear is not an overnight process, and may also require that you take advantage of additional resources at your disposal such as individual therapy. There are times when the road will be steep, challenging and tiring. It is during those especially trying days that you must be able to rely upon your inner voice to drive you on. It will mean the difference between giving up and persevering. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them. Start listening to your voice today. What are you saying? Do you believe you can succeed? It’s true that whether you think you can, or whether you think you can’t, you’re going to be right. When you do find yourself achieving success, make sure your self-talk remains positive and motivating. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/eight-daily-activities-to-do-for.html?m=1

The Commission as part of its decisions advised the charity’s trustees to ensure they act within their powers; act in good faith and only in the interests of the charity; make; sure they are sufficiently informed; take account of all relevant factors; ignore any irrelevant factors and; make decisions that are within the range of decisions that a reasonable trustee body could make. “It is important that charity trustees apply these seven principles when making significant or strategic decisions, such as those affecting the charity’s beneficiaries, assets or future direction,” it was said. UK Charity Commission is an independent, non-ministerial government department accountable to Parliament. They register and regulate charities in England and Wales to ensure that the public can support charities with confidence.. All churches and other religious organisations fall under charity grouping. The Commission has five major strategic objectives including: holding charities to account; dealing with wrongdoing and harm; informing public choice; giving charities the understanding and tools they need to succeed, keeping charity relevant for today’s world. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/the-united-kingdom-charity-commission.html

The United Kingdom Charity Commission has expressed satisfaction that the issues it raised and which warranted the investigation of Loveworld Incorporated (Christ Embassy Church) have been thoroughly addressed and resolved by the new board of trustees which has shown a clear commitment to move the charity (Loveworld Inc) forward responsibly. In a Press Statement dated November 14 2019, the Charity Commission said, “A statutory inquiry has led to significant improvements in the governance and oversight of… the charity’s management. As a result of the inquiry, a new board of trustees has strengthened the administration and management of the charity.” According to the investigators, “following the appointment of a new Board of Trustees on 12 April 2016, significant progress has been made to address the governance and improve oversight and control by the new trustees, as a result of which the Interim Management of the Charity set up by the Commission was discharged on 12 April 2016. Amy Spiller, Head of Investigations Team at the Charity Commission, was quoted in the media statement as saying that probing the charity (Christ Embassy UK) was a complex inquiry that unveiled numerous failings by those running the church over a number of years, which exposed the charity to undue risk. As said by Spiller, “Charities are trusted in a way that is unique, and people often put a lot of faith in religious charities. It is therefore vital that trustees, particularly those with a large following, do all that they can to inspire public trust, so that they can help to uphold wider public confidence in charities. “Those running a charity should always be guided by their charitable purpose. Trustees have an important responsibility to ensure that they act in the best interests of their charity at all times, and take care to safeguard their charity’s assets. Our guidance around governance arrangements is there to help trustees ensure they do just that. “Therefore, in order to show that they are complying with their legal duties, trustees must keep records and an adequate audit trail to show that the Charity’s money has been properly spent on furthering the Charity’s purposes for the benefit of the public.” https://nationaldailyng.com/uk-charity-watchdog-expresses-satisfaction-with-reforms-at-christ-embassy/?fbclid=IwAR3_YpNXsaW_WPvCopWpx7HqDEJE7QfuY3uQ8j3kUKj-DogFwYVbjUipNqg https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/the-united-kingdom-charity-commission.html |

How Christianity Helped to “Teach” Japan to Modernize When Christian missionary activities once more became possible in Japan following the lifting of the ban in the second half of the nineteenth century, large numbers of missionaries started to arrive in the country again—this time mostly Protestants. Japan at the time was living through a period of dizzying political change as the country hurried to modernize. What people wanted was to learn the scientific knowledge and languages of the outside world. Since the missionaries were eager to use education and language teaching as opportunities for proselytization, the needs of the two sides matched well. But for the Japanese at the time, Christianity was little more than a useful tool for modernizing and “civilizing” Japan. It was an aspect of Western culture, something foreign rather than something that could be made Japanese. From around the end of the nineteenth century, the religion became known in Japanese as キリスト教 kirisutokyō, a newly coined translation from the English that replaced the previous term, kirishitan, a phonetic rendering of the Portuguese. A new set of Japanese translated terms was introduced: 教会 kyōkai for “church,” 宣教 senkyō for “mission,” and 殉教者 junkyōsha for “martyr.” The term 宗教 shūkyō became established as the normal Japanese word for “religion” around the same time. All these terms used the same kanji 教 kyō, meaning “teaching,” emphasizing the pedagogical, rather than doctrinal, aspects of religion. This fact is suggestive of what modern Japanese were looking for from Christianity and religion in general. Some Japanese intellectuals at the time believed that Christianity had played a key role in inculcating moral values into Western societies and helping them develop into powerful, modern states. Many believed it would be a good idea for Japan to introduce the religion too, as a way of catching up with the West. Ōkuma Shigenobu (1838–1922), the founder of Waseda University, also valued Christianity as a means of moral education, though ultimately he did not regard it as anything more than a useful fiction. Japanese people wanted practical teachings that would help Japan to develop into a modern, civilized country, and this led to a strong tendency to regard Christianity from the limited perspective of education and public morality. In fact, the relationship between the Japanese people and Christianity is still quite short. As I have already mentioned, the Jesuits came to Japan in 1549, and the ban on Christianity began just 60 years later, lasting for nearly 260 years. Protestants and Russian Orthodox Christians also started to enter Japan starting from the second half of the nineteenth century, but during the Russo-Japanese War and World War II, these “Western religions” came under pressure from official disapproval again. It is only since the enactment of the current Constitution following World War II that true freedom of religion has been guaranteed in Japan. In that sense, ordinary Japanese people have only been in contact with Christianity for around 150 years. Perhaps a wider-ranging, more comprehensive engagement with the religion still lies in the future. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/a-little-faith-christianity-and.html |
Christianity is the world’s largest religion, with an estimated 2.4 billion followers, or nearly one-third of the world’s total population. But in Japan, Christians are a tiny minority. Unlike in neighboring South Korea, where some 29% of the population identify as Christians, in Japan the religion’s followers make up just 0.8%. But while more than 99% of Japanese people are not Christians, this does not mean that they dislike Christianity, or have a negative image of the religion. Far from it. In fact, it is fair to say that many Japanese people are quite familiar with various aspects of Christian culture. Children have heard of Jesus, of course. But at school they also learn about people and events connected with the history and culture of Christianity, from Martin Luther and Dostoyevsky to Mother Teresa. Many adults are interested in Christian art and music, and take pleasure in visiting cathedrals and churches during their travels overseas. Christmas is a firmly established event on the calendar popular with people from all generations and backgrounds, and many couples choose to get married in a Christian-style wedding, even if they are not believers. Christian culture in general has a positive image. At the same time, most Japanese people have little or no interest in the Christian faith per se. Again, they do not critically reject Christian teachings after thorough study; they are simply not interested and never bother to find out. Japan is home to numerous schools founded by missionaries and other Christians. According to one survey, as many as one in ten Japanese has attended a Christian school at some stage on their journey from kindergarten to college. Despite this exposure, the number of believers has remained stubbornly small. Japan’s tiny Christian population is made up of 60% Protestants and 40% Catholics, but many Japanese people would struggle to explain the difference or show much interest in understanding it. For most Japanese, their interest in Christianity is in a version of the faith that has been more or less stripped of its doctrinal content. The Economic and Military Impact of Early Missionaries Christianity was first preached in Japan in 1549, when Francis Xavier (1506–52) arrived with a group of missionaries in Kyūshū. They enjoyed considerable success in making converts, and the number of Christians increased dramatically in the early years. But within just 60 years of their arrival, the religion was outlawed. The ban continued for some 260 years, and during this period Christians were subjected to ruthless persecution and oppression, including torture and execution. There were numerous reasons why Christianity was repressed in Japan between the seventeenth and mid-nineteenth centuries. But the main reason was probably that Christianity in those days was not simply a religion, but a social and economic force with the potential to shake the foundations of Japanese politics and society. The main driving force behind Christian proselytization in sixteenth-century Japan was the Society of Jesus. To help them continue their missionary activities efficiently and to support and expand the Christian community in Japan, the Jesuits were deeply involved in the “Nanban” trade between Japan and Europe. This involvement in economic activities brought huge profits to certain daimyō (feudal lords), but also involved the missionaries in the supply of weapons. The missionaries were not simply men of religion, but political figures with an important economic and military influence. They rapidly became a powerful faction that was impossible to ignore. Some of these early missionaries seriously considered calling on Spanish and Portuguese forces to subdue Japan. In fact, there was probably never any serious plan in these countries for a military conquest of Japan, but there were more than a few missionaries who stressed the need for military strength to defend the church and its activities. It is not surprising that many people involved in running the country at the time felt mistrust and suspicion of the Christians. The missionaries were also extremely intolerant of Japan’s existing religions, regarding Buddhism, for example, as a kind of heathen idol-worship propagated by the devil. They had no doubt that Christianity was the one true faith and that all other religions were misguided. Some missionaries encouraged Japanese Christians to set fire to Buddhist temples, and destroyed statues hidden by Buddhist priests inside caves. This can be confirmed by documents written by the missionaries themselves. It is easy to get the impression from sources like Endō Shūsaku’s novel Silence, recently made into a film by Martin Scorsese, that the persecuted Christians were simply victims. But the violence was not all one-way. It was certainly not the case that Christianity was oppressed despite a wish on the part of the Christians to live peacefully alongside other religions. Today, in the twenty-first century, we tend to take it for granted that different religions should respect each other and live in harmony. But at the time of the early Christian missionaries in Japan, such thinking was not so common. (Originally written in Japanese. A source involved in the transaction said there was no way Boeing will get involved involved in a deal with Air Peace without verifying the documents. “Boeing did verify the documents and sealed the deal. It is there surprising that some report will say the documents are fake. It is not true,” the source said. The US report had said: “ Onyema is also the CEO and Chairman of Nigerian airline Air Peace, which he founded in 2013. In years following the founding of Air Peace, he traveled to the United States and purchased multiple airplanes for the airline. However, over $3 million of the funds used to purchase the aircraft allegedly came from bank accounts for Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Center for Non-Violence and Peace Development, All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited, and Every Child Limited.” In conclusion, the report said: “Members of the public are reminded that the indictment only contains charges. The defendants are presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.” https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/air-peace-fresh-facts-reveals.html |
Contrary to allegations that Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of thriving airline, Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema, laundered money in the United States of America, fresh facts have emerged that the fund was used for purchase of aircrafts. Sources privy to the deal said the letter of credit showed that the funds were not channeled into any fraudulent activity in America. The United States’ Attorney’s office in Georgia, has, in a report, accused Onyema of bank fraud and money laundering, alleging that he moved “more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes.” The report also said that Air Peace “Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, has also been charged with bank fraud and committing aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme.” But Daily Sun gathered that the alleged money was not laundered but transferred for the purchase of aircraft, which was done. It was gathered that the planes bought with the money were in use in Nigeria. Sources said to prove that the issue was an allegation yet to be proved, the US report said Air Peace chairman is innocent until proved guilty. Boeing, from which the aircraft were bought, it was gathered, did due diligence by verifying the documents supplied by Air Peace before signing the deal. It was gathered that to prove the authenticity of the transaction, the deal for purchase of the aircraft with the money was sealed at the United States embassy, where the documents were signed. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/air-peace-fresh-facts-reveals.html https://www.sunnewsonline.com/air-peace-fresh-facts-reveals-legitimate-aircraft-purchase/

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote says he has no time for luxury stuff because they tend to be a distraction. According to him, he is fixated at his goals of growing his business empire and has little time on his hand and therefore does not need any distractions that such luxury stuff comes with. Mr. Dangote whol spoke recently at the 2019 edition of the Mo Ibrahim Forum averred that he has no personal house outside his native Nigeria and that some of his workers own houses in London and other locations abroad. He said: “I don’t have any holiday home anywhere. I don’t have a house anywhere but I know people who are working for me…they have houses in London.” Mr. Dangote admonished the youth and entrepreneurs who are into business, not to spend based on projected incomes, since the constant flow of profit is not guaranteed. “Once you start doing business [and] it starts doing well, but rather than for you to invest more in the business, you start spending thinking that profit will continue to come’’ he averred. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/08/i-avoid-luxurious-lifestyle-because-it.html

AirPeace CEO Allen Onyema, has denied all fraud allegations by the USAZ, stating that they are false and are in no way in line with his character as a person and as a business man whose only aim has been to build Nigeria and improve wellbeing. “As the press statement clearly stated, these are indictment that only contains charges. I am innocent of all charges and the US government will find no dirt on me because I have never conducted business with any illegalities. “Be rest assured that I also have my lawyers on this and these mere allegations will be refuted. I never laundered money in my life, neither have I committed bank fraud anywhere in the world. Every Kobo I transferred to the US for aircraft purchase went through the Central Bank of Nigeria LC regime and all were used for the same purpose. “The American companies that received the funds are still in business. I never took a penny from any US bank or Nigerian bank. I am willing to defend my innocence in the US courts,” Onyema stated. The US Attorneys office in Georgia had alleged that the Chairman, CEO, and founder of Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, has been involved with bank fraud and money laundering for moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme allegedly involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes. https://ebeanonews..com/2019/11/onyema-denies-us-fraud-allegations-says.html https://businessday.ng/news/article/onyema-denies-us-fraud-allegations-says-all-money-transferred-went-through-cbn/?fbclid=IwAR1mrYXec1xg06k4gNE1ZBr5QX41Dim5JAVvfbdMod10DLE9BQ4lwR2bJis
