Nigeria is on night mode blackout mode again, as part of the government's effort in upgrading the country's OS. No first-world country has successfully achieved this feat.

Becos of the current demography in Nigeria, a successful revolution can only start from the north and it can only lead to a break up of the country or a new constitution as a change of government will not be attainable nor solve nothing.

The outage marks the later reminder that the Nigeria’s power infrastructure remained largely precarious, despite decades of huge investments and policy revamps. At least eight major collapses that plunged substantial parts of the country into darkness have occurred in 2019 alone.

In May, a system collapse that affected most parts of the country took about 72 hours to restore. The collapse saw power generation output drop to 230 megawatts nationwide, down significantly from the 4,032 megawatts the day before the collapse on May 8.

The TCN said the outage was unavoidable at the time and promised a better management of the electricity infrastructure that would prevent future collapses. But several outages have been reported since then.

Here are reports from Twitter users from across the country on the latest collapse of the national grid.

Nigeria appears to have been hit by system collapse to the national grid, according to reports from across the country.

Several social media users reported seizures of electricity to their areas starting Friday night. It was unclear when the collapse first occurred, but some of the earliest posts on Twitter were at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Users from Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Ile-Ife reported power failures in those cities around the same time — an indication typical of a national grid downtime. A user from Owerri, however, reported power availability as of 12:25 a.m. Saturday.

What triggered the massive failures could also not be confirmed as of 6:00 a.m. Saturday. A spokesperson for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) did not immediately return a request seeking comments.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company acknowledged the breakdown in a tweetstorm to a barrage of complaints on its Twitter handle Saturday morning, pleading with consumers to be patient.

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) has offered free basic education to 400 vulnerable children from conflict-ridden communities in Adamawa State.

The foundation also built a multi-million Naira school and health care facilities to offer free education and healthcare delivery to vulnerable children and communities affected by conflicts in the state.

Makonto noted that the location where the school and health centre was built in Demsa Local Government Area (LGA) “is the area mostly affected by farmers-herdsmen conflict, which destroyed more than 10,000 lives and properties worth millions of Naira. The Chairperson of the Association of Widows, Adamawa Chapter, Mrs. Hilda Makonto disclosed this at an interactive session with journalists in Yola, the Adamawa capital saturday.

Makonto said she witnessed the inauguration of the facilities penultimate Thursday, adding that the facilities would be beneficial to children of indigent parents who were either affected by Boko Haram insurgency or farmers-herdsmen conflict.

“Many of us lost our husbands to insurgency and farmers-herdsmen conflict and some children lost both parents living with no one to care for them. But we thank God for sending the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation to care for them.”

“This gesture is divinely oriented because God had heard their lingering cries for help such as this for indigent children to go to a world class schools like this one so as to bridge gap between children of the poor and rich in the country,” she said.

She said the widows “are concerned because their children are major benefactors. We thank Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Found of COFI for giving children of indigent and vulnerable groups the opportunity to have good education and free medical care at no cost.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Offers Free Education To 400 Children by chibaby1985(op):
In a telephone conversation with THISDAY, Head of Education Programme, Innercity Mission School, Vanessa Nosegbe said the school had already enrolled 120 pupils for the 2019/20 academic session.

Nosegbe added that all 120 children enrolled for its free schooling program in line with the mandate of the foundation are children who are from poor homes and vulnerable groups.

She said: “ We have our process of identification of the children we are looking at, if you look at the community they are impoverished. All the pupils here are indigent children.

“Through the leadership of their communities, we were able to sort out the most vulnerable because of the space we have which can take only 400 children. The education of these children is at no cost to their parents and while in school

they are feed at least a meal a day.”

Commending COFI’s intervention, the Deputy Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Mr. Pwamwakeno Mackondo said the establishment of the school and health care center “is a blessing to the state.”

He said the facilities were of world class standard while promising to seek the intervention of the state government “to construct good road for easy access to the facility, especially for the convenience of the sick who will require free medical care at the health care facility.”

PoliticsNigerians Tells FG To Name Beneficiaries Of Abacha’s $103.64m Loot by chibaby1985(op): 11:38pm On Oct 28, 2019
Twitter users recently asked the Federal Government to identify the poor Nigerians , who benefited from the $ 103 . 64 m Abacha loot, it claimed to have disbursed.

It was reported last week that the Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments , Mrs Maryam Uwais , said that the Federal Government has been channelling the recovered Abacha loot and the International Development Association / World Bank credit towards programmes and policies designed to address the plight of poor and vulnerable Nigerians .

Uwais said that the funds , which were specifically being disbursed to beneficiaries of the National Cash Transfer Programme, a component of the National Social Investment Programme, noted that the gesture was positively changing the fortune of many Nigerians .

Since the news broke , Nigerians have been wondering and asking questions about the beneficiaries of the loot. While some asked the FG, why they didn ’ t benefit from the largesse , others asked that the beneficiaries be identified .

Christianity EtcRe: Is Christianity A Western Religion? by chibaby1985(op): 10:56am On Oct 27, 2019
Christianity is the life of GOD in humanity
chibaby1985:
I have travelled to many different countries in Africa and this is one of the most common questions that I get the most about Christianity. Given the mixed legacies of Christian missionaries, the painful history of colonialism and slavery; the persistent nature of the question is understandable and expected. To give a reasonable answer to this question, one has to embrace its complexity and appreciate the force with which it resonates in the social imagery and in the current lived experience of many Africans. The origins of Christianity show, however, that it is not a Western religion. To be a Christian means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, who was not European, but Middle Eastern.

The early followers of Christ were Jewish and were responsible for spreading his message to the different parts of the world because they had learnt from him that his invitation to follow him was universal in scope. It was for everyone belonging to every culture and ethnic group in the world. The idea is that the Church, those who believe in the message of Christ, will be a body of people that are culturally diverse according to God’s design and desire. The message of Christ is for everyone in the world in order that God may receive his glory in the vision that was articulated by the Apostle in Revelations 7:9-10: “a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb” In many parts of the world, including Africa, Christianity has been experienced painfully, unnecessarily and unjustly as a Western religion.

The term “West” is a construct that has shifted meaning based on the history of empire-building and the change of human civilisations in the world. “West” eventually came to mean more than a geographical demarcation which includes “old Europe”, Western Christendom and wherever Greco-Roman people and cultures find themselves in the world today. “West” also has a philosophical dimension that is undergirded by ethnocentrism and a “centering” of these “Western” cultures at the expense of other world cultures. Historically, “western Cultures” wrongfully became a standard of civilisation, rationality, the measure of beauty etc.

Unfortunately, Christianity as explained and practised by some missionaries at the time, was also wrapped up in “Western culture” when it arrived in many places in Africa, serving the imperialistic ideals of Western countries in this form. It is this aspect of the question that gives power to the association between Christianity and the West and is largely responsible for the view that Christianity was just an ideological tool that was used to disrupt African civilisations and progress. This was an abuse of what Christianity is. To commit theft of African resources, to enslave people, to assume sovereignty over people, to commit epistemic injustice against them while undermining their right to self-determination, to centre the world around one “Western” culture… This is not biblical Christianity, but an abuse of it. True Christianity brings freedom and hope, because it is God’s story, good news for all people of the world.

Is Christianity a Western religion? No, it is about following Jesus Christ and believing in him for salvation. Unfortunately, the history of Christianity also contains the history of the failures of us as his followers to always present his message clearly and justly. May God heal the hearts and memories of those who incorrectly experienced Christianity as anything else other than what Christ intends. May Christ use us as his body to answer this prayer.

Christianity EtcMiracle Woman Healed By Pastors Finally Interviewed by chibaby1985(op): 10:39am On Oct 27, 2019
The Internet has been buzzing with the miraculous healing of a woman in a popular Lagos based Church. Several media organisations were in long search for the lady at the centre of the whole story.

Obviously the event of the past 24 hours was the least she has bargained for.

Cladded in a cream caftan, seated on 6 spring bed that has seen better days, its obvious the euphoria and condemnation she has suffered after the videos of her various “healings “ in churches went viral has caused her much pain ,more than the miracle she sourced .

The lady in the eyes of the storm sat down to speak exclusively with Chris Kehinde Nwandu on her travails that has made her seek “deliverance “ from Churches within and outside Nigeria.

Welcome to the world of Mrs Bose Ola,the woman in the controversial videos that went viral on social media allegedly healed by several Pastors .

Answer: I had a domestic accident at home and fractured my hand.

Question: When was this ?

Answer: This was 2 years ago

Question: How many Churches have you gone to (attended) for your healing

Answer: I have attended several uncountable Churches within and outside Nigeria

Question: How come you attend several churches, where you claimed you have been healed of same ailment?

Answer: Truly whenever I attend such churches I get healed but my ailment relapses after two days.

Question: Relapses every two days ,what exactly do you mean by that ?

Answer: Once they heal me ,I feel no pains but after two days after, the pains returns, the reason I continue visiting various churches for a permanent healing.

Question: How many Churches have you visited so far

Answer: I can’t recollect

Question: Who linked you with you with the last Church you visited (Prophet Chris Okafor ) of Liberation Ministry and what has been the experience so far.

Answer: My sister in law introduced me to the Church.

Question: Before then have you met him, if yes, what were your discussions with him.

Answer: We’ve never met before and I had no prior meeting with him.

Question: So what has the experience being since your encounter with him

Answer: I am perfectly alright now,I am permanently healed, since my last encounter with him ,I’ve not felt any pains again ,it is almost six days now (lifting up her shirt sleeve to reveal the hand) ,I no longer feel pains and I am permanently healed (although the hand as noticed by CKN News was still dangling from the upper joint ).

Question: Are you saying this for a truth or are you going to continue visiting other Churches for more “divine healings” ?

Answer: No ,I won’t ,I am sure this current healing is permanent

Question: It was alleged that you collect or received N1m each for your alleged “stage managed miracles” ,how true is this ?

Answer: It is a lie sir, take a look at me ,do I look like someone being given N1m ,if I collect N1m from them ,would I look this poor.

They did not give me any money and I never paid for any healing too

It seems like two Nigerian ladies, Susan and Helen, have entered hot water after they accused singer Davido of getting one of them pregnant. The ladies had released a video, claiming Susan is pregnant with Davido’s child.

This video surfaced online days after it was revealed that the singer welcomed his first son with girlfriend and wife-to-be, Chioma.

We had earlier reported that the singer denied the allegation and also promised to give any fan who finds the ladies for him N1 million. He also vowed to send them to jail for making such claims about him.

Few minutes after the singer revealed that he has found them and he would sue them for N30 billion, a video of them claiming that the first video was a prank surfaced on social media.

Now, the singer has further expressed his annoyance over the whole issue, buttressing the fact that his wife, Chioma has become the main victim of the entire drama, after spending 9 months carrying his child.

He has sworn to make them pay as he strongly maintains that there’s no room for forgiveness.

INNOSON MOTORS

RE: Relocate Your Vehicle Manufacturing Company Now To Either Lagos or Kaduna Or Your License Would Be Withdrawn- FG; I am Under Pressure Now To Relocate To lagos or Kaduna- Innoson Breaks Silence. We have been constrained to issue this statement in reference to the above statement credited to the person of the Chairman of Innoson Vehicles Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma OFR.

Ordinarily we would have ignored the statement and the publication in its entirety which appears to have gone viral in most social media platforms, knowing fully well that this is the handwork of mischief makers, but in a nation where silence may be seen as admission of the truth, we have been constrained to come out to officially ask the public to disregard it and set the record straight.

1. There has never been any order and there will never be any order either from the Federal Government or its agencies to Innoson Vehicles to relocate his Vehicle Manufacturing Plant which is based in Nnewi to Lagos, Kaduna or any other place.

2. Innoson Vehicles has continually maintained a robust relationship with the Federal Government specifically under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR. For example, under this present administration, Nnewi Auto-Industrial Park was initiated to support automobile parts manufacturing companies to come together and deliver support services, vehicle components, and raw materials required by the teeming automobile manufacturing companies in Nigeria. A major beneficially of this initiative is Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing.

3. In a recent press briefing to journalist's, which was widely publicized across many media organizations, the Chairman of Innoson Group stated clearly that Innoson Vehicles “has enjoyed huge patronage and support from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration”.

Furthermore, Innoson Vehicles has continually enjoyed patronage from the Federal Government and its agencies; specifically, The Nigerian Military, The Police Force, Federal Road Safety Commission, Fire Service, Immigration and lots more.

4. Innoson Vehicles is in partnership with the Nigerian Air Force for the development and promotion of joint activities to sustain the maintenance of the Nigerian Air Force Air Assets and other associated Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) to enable the Nigerian Air Force to continuously carry out its constitutional obligations to the Nation. Equally it is also in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Authority for the local manufacture and supply of Armoured and Bullet-Proof Vehicles.

5. We therefore urge the general public to disregard the fallacious publication in its entirety as there is no element of truth therein.

AutosInnoson Group Denies Rumors Of Relocation, Shows Appreciation To Buhari by chibaby1985(op):
In the past few days the internet was agog with news of Innoson Motors under pressure to relocate from Knew I to either Lagos or Kaduna.

The Group wasted no time in debunking the rumor... The below is an official statement from the Group

Press Statement
