Social Media was agog over the weekend as regards the Church wedding of Adewale Yusuf and his beautiful wife without a Reception... They were surprised by their friends and colleagues from the office who gave them a world class reception hall with so much feasting... Confirming this on his facebook page, has this to say: "My wife and I had decided to not have a reception party after our wedding. Just church service, nothing big. But, on the day of the event after we had taken our pictures, I was tricked to the office by my mentors and to my surprise my team and friends had planned a surprise reception party for us. A visit to the website on Saturday showed that when a user input their passport number on the ‘Check card Number’ page, rather than take the user to the login page, it opens directly to the data page where the user’s information has been stored. When you increment the number one by one, you are taking to different private information of other users on the website. BusinessDay has monitored the website since Friday evening and by Saturday the Ministry is yet to respond to situation which could potentially see millions of private information belonging to travellers fall into the wrong hands. The yellow card is an important document which is given to a person after getting a vaccine against yellow fever disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that travellers are vaccinated to prevent the transmission of yellow fever (YFV) with specific requirements. The International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005, stipulates that countries may require proof of vaccination from travelers as a condition for entry. They may also take certain measures if an arriving traveler has no yellow fever certificate (or yellow card). Following an amendment of the IHR 2005 effective 11 July 2016, the validity of a certificate and protection offered by the vaccination changed from 10 years to the life of the traveler vaccinated. Vaccination is recommended for travelers aged 9 months and older. On 1 April 2019, the federal government under the Ministry of Health phased replaced the old ‘yellow card’ with a new electronic card which they issue to people who have been vaccinated. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Thursday declared federal government’s plan to introduce solar-powered vehicles as well as vehicles capable of driving on water. This is even as the minister said the Federal Executive Council has given a nod of approval of checkmating emissions from vehicles in the country owing to the resultant health implication for the people. Amaechi who was represented by the Director, Mass Transit and Road Transport in the Ministry, Dr Anthonia Ekpa at the 9th quadrennial delegates conference of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, added that the ministry will stop at nothing to implement government’s directive on the reduction of pollutants across the country. “Government has given the Ministry of Transportation a mandate to deliver on emission control, the reduction of a pollutant from vehicles and we are beginning that immediately. “The federal ministry of Transportation has introduced in the 2018/2019 budget what we called the solar-powered vehicles and this is coming to you. Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has said the parliament would soon come up with a law that would peg secondary school leaving age at 18. A statement signed by the lawmaker, copy of which was obtained by our Correspondent on Thursday, said Owoeye disclosed this in his goodwill message to the Osun Youth Agenda High - Level Stakeholder’s Policy Dialogue , held in Osogbo. It was organised by the Kimpact Development Initiative , with the support of the United Agency for International Development, National Democratic Institute, and the United Kingdom’ s Department of International Development . Owoeye accused many parents of “ rushing” their wards through secondary school education , adding that entering higher institution below 18 years of age could make even children from the best home to be vulnerable to negative peer influences. He further stressed that the current trend of underage high school leavers without any vocational skill had , in part, contributed to high rate of unemployment in the country. When passed, Owoeye said, the law would checkmate the growing trend of underage secondary school leavers in Osun State. He explained that in some other countries where such practice is common , there are legal measures in place to ensure that early high school leavers are productively engaged over a period of time before they are permitted to further their studies. He added that in such countries, young school leavers are also denied the right to drive and some other social rights basically because they have not attained age of 18. The Are Onakankafo of Yorubaland, Chief Gani Adams, has said that the Odua Peoples Congress may switch from being a socio - cultural entity to become a full- fledged political organisation. Adams, who is the Coordinator of the OPC worldwide , said this during an event held in Lagos on Thursday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Yoruba organisation. He said, “Without mincing words, let me say that the next few months will determine whether the OPC will remain political, neutral or partisan . “ From seeking the revalidation of the June 12, 1993 presidential election , we went on to demand total restructuring of the country. The Nigerian Government has accused leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, of planning to turn Nigeria into an Islamic country. The government made the claim in a counter-affidavit deposed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Enyinnaya Adiogu, in Abuja. The court document also stated that the IMN members do not recognise the authority of President Muhammadu Buhari.
