Meanwhile with a Bsc in Biochemistry you are qualified to do

MSC public health
Physiology
MBA
Environmental toxicology and pollution management
Environmental management
Pgd Economics
Etc

Distinction between academic and professional masters degree



Today, i will be taking us through the difference between professional masters degree and Academic masters degree.

university of Lagos offers both professional masters and academic masters.

professional masters are work related masters degree, it is only useful in your work environment, most of the professional masters done in unilag are usually on part-time basis. professional master degree can not be used to apply for PHD programs. professional masters offered in university of Lagos are:

1 MBA
2 Master of Project Management (MPM)
3 Master in Public and International Affairs (MPIA)
4. MIT
5. Masters in Managerial Psychology (MMP
etc

Academic masters degree are the conventional masters degree that can be used to apply for PHD for those that want to do PHD. as the name implies, it is an academic masters. 90 percent of courses run in unilag are academic masters related courses.

Unilag does not joke with course eligibility, before you select a course ensure your course of study in your first degree matches the eligibility criteria

of the proposed course you want to study.

Despite all the awareness that was created this year about course eligibility, some applicants were still disqualified.

no matter how high you score in the entrance exam, if you dont meet the eligibility criteria, you will be disqualified outrightly. unilag dont joke with this.

yes you can convert to part-time if you want to, the process is seamless.

on the issue of if you can combine your Full-time program with your job all depend on the nature of your job.

If your school does not call of the strike before the screening ends, i will advice you visit the postgraduate school they will be in the best position to advice you on what step to take.

you can not fill your acceptance form now because 2018/2019 session is still on.

course registration and acceptance form portal will be activated by January when 2019/2020 session begins.

The person has printed the exam docket (which contained 2 courses) just to later discover/remember that she has not checked all her courses (5 courses).

advice your friend to go to ICT department in PG school and pay 5k. to add those courses she did not add.

take original copies of your documents to the screening ground. if you are not admitted into MBA, your waec is immaterial. go with declaration of age certificate obtained from any court if you cant find your birth certificate

If you want to stick to Lecturing, I will advice you do an Msc in biochemistry as someone with an Msc in biochemistry will always have an edge over someone with MSc Environmental toxicology for a lecturing position in biochemistry..

For your second question, Environmental Toxicology is very lucrative as it finds relevance both in the oil and gas sector, government agencies, Pharmacological industry,Research institutes, Waste Management agencies etc.
