Nnamdipapa: Here is a bunch of banana I bought for N500, this would go for nothing less than $4 in Canada, please note these are organic bananas we are talking about not the extra-sweet, GMO tampered bananas in the west and I got this in Lagos meaning folks living in the suburbs might even be buying cheaper.
I also buy I big avocado for N400, do the maths and convert to $. When next you complain about Nigeria, remember we have cheap and easily accessible fruits and vegetables. Even if Canada is selling banana for $10, I would always prefer to live there peacefully than to stay where banana is sold for N500. |

PMForce: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Egypt's military capabilities are growing and must be closely monitored, while also saying he is unsure what final decision US President Donald Trump will take regarding Iran, according to Israeli media.
The daily Israel Hayom reported that Netanyahu raised concerns about Egypt's expanding military strength during a closed-door meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee on Thursday.
"The Egyptian army is building its strength, and this needs to be monitored," Netanyahu was quoted as saying.
"We have relations with Egypt, but we must prevent an excessive buildup of military power."
The comments were made during discussions on the sensitivity of relations between Israel and Egypt, according to sources cited by the newspaper.
Despite the warning, Israel and Egypt signed a major gas agreement in December valued at about $35 billion.
Netanyahu announced at the time that his government had approved the deal, describing it as the largest in Israel's history.

Jerryhare: What animal dies after giving birth?
A student asked me this question today in class, what's the answer? I want know if I was right According to Chatgpt, here are **5 animals that typically die after giving birth or reproducing** (this is called *semelparity* — “reproduce once, then die”): 1. **Octopus (female)** After laying thousands of eggs, the mother guards them nonstop, stops eating, and dies shortly after they hatch. 2. **Pacific salmon** (e.g., sockeye, chinook) They spawn once, exhaust their bodies migrating and reproducing, and die days or weeks later. 3. **Mayfly** Adults live only long enough to mate and lay eggs—sometimes just hours—then die almost immediately. 4. **Squid** Similar to octopuses: after spawning, females rapidly decline and die. 5. **Freshwater eels** (like the European eel) They migrate long distances to spawn once, then die after reproduction. Nature is brutal but efficient 😬. |

Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Supporters Backing Peter Obi For ADC Ticket – Adeyanju by chiboycue: 5:01pm On Jan 12 |
Lifestylecom: Source
Activist lawyer and public commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has claimed that key supporters of President Bola Tinubu are quietly backing former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to emerge as the presidential flagbearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Adeyanju alleged that prominent Tinubu allies, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, are subtly promoting Obi’s candidacy within the ADC.
He made the assertion while reacting to Fayose’s recent comment describing Obi as the only viable figure within the ADC. Fayose had said, “Peter Obi is the only life in ADC. Other lives there are semi-existing. Atiku and Tambuwal destroyed PDP.”
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Adeyanju questioned the motive behind what he described as coordinated support for Obi by Tinubu’s loyalists. He suggested that their actions were driven by fear of a strong northern presidential contender.
“Why are all major Tinubu supporters promoting Peter Obi, their man Friday?” Adeyanju wrote. “From Keyamo to Fayose, etc; they want the coalition to present Obi.”
He further argued that the ruling party’s allies appeared uncomfortable with the possibility of a northern candidate emerging from the opposition coalition, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whom he described as a “serial contester.”
“Why does it look like they are afraid of a northern candidate, especially the serial contester Atiku?” he added. “Their fear is too obvious.”
Adeyanju’s comments have sparked renewed debate within Nigeria’s political space, as discussions intensify around opposition realignments, coalition politics, and the search for a formidable challenger ahead of the next presidential election.

Politicstoday: https://leadership.ng/fubara-its-better-we-all-resign-rivers-speaker-declares/
Today during her plenary session, the Rivers State House of Assembly marks a significant escalation in the state's long-running political crisis.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule, delivered a scathing assessment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara during the commencement of impeachment proceedings. Below is a word-for-word analysis of the key statements that are currently making the rounds.
1. Siminalayi Fubara is a mistake; Rivers State has never had it this bad: Context: Martins Amaewhule uses this to frame Fubara's entire tenure as a systemic error rather than a series of policy disagreements. My Take: By calling the Governor a "mistake," the Speaker is signaling that the legislative arm no longer recognizes the Governor's political legitimacy. The phrase "never had it this bad" is a hyperbolic appeal to public sentiment, designed to justify the "extreme" measure of impeachment as a necessary corrective action for the state's survival.
2. Sir Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy are nothing but a threat to democracy. Context: The Speaker links the Governor and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu together as a collective "threat."4
My Take: This is a tactical legal framing. Under Section 188 of the Nigerian Constitution, impeachment requires proof of "gross misconduct." By labeling them a "threat to democracy," the Speaker is elevating administrative lapses (like budget delays) to the level of constitutional subversion, which is easier to defend as a "gross misconduct" charge.
3. He has been saying to his followers that this 10th Rivers Assembly is nothing but a toothless bulldog: Context: Amaewhule is responding to alleged private remarks made by Fubara regarding the legislature’s power.
My Take: This highlights the ego war driving the crisis. The Speaker is using the Governor’s own purported rhetoric—"toothless bulldog"—to goad the other 26 lawmakers into action. It frames the impeachment as a matter of legislative honour and institutional relevance, rather than just a political hit.
4. This is a sad commentary for our democracy: Context: Used when referring to the fact that Rivers is the only state in Nigeria that has allegedly not presented or passed its 2026 Appropriation Bill.
My Take: This is the "hook" for the legal argument. In Nigeria, failing to present a budget is a serious fiscal breach. By calling it a "sad commentary," Amaewhule is attempting to occupy the moral high ground, suggesting that the Assembly is acting out of a sense of duty to democratic norms rather than personal vendetta.
The 7 Allegations Breakdown While the Speaker provided the "rhetoric," the Majority Leader, Hon. Major Jack, read the specific charges, the "word-for-word" allegations in the notice include: 1. Constitutional Breach: Refusal to present the 2026 Budget (Appropriation Bill). 2. Fiscal Misconduct: Spending state funds without legislative approval. 3. Contempt of Judiciary: Refusal to comply with Supreme Court rulings on financial autonomy. 4. Property Destruction: The 2023 demolition of the Assembly complex. 5. Withholding Funds: Allegedly seizing salaries and allowances of the legislature. 6. Obstruction: Hindering the Assembly Service Commission. 7. Executive Interference: Allegedly converting state funds to dollars to influence federal officials.
IN SUMMARY The timing of impeachment saga is crucial. Following Governor Fubara’s December 2025 defection to the APC, many expected the tension to cool. Instead, the video shows that the pro-Wike faction (who also identify as APC) is using Fubara’s own new party platform against him.
The Speaker's language is notably de-personalized at times—insisting the fight is between "the Governor and the Constitution," not Wike and Fubara. This is a deliberate attempt to neutralize the "godfatherism" narrative that has previously gained Fubara public sympathy.

Kunlebayo12: I’m on the verge of being rusticated in school
October when I was writing my final exams, something happened just 1 day to end the exam. So me and my friend wrote on our question paper and we exchanged it between ourselves. When I was writing this initiator started searching everyone he got to me and he search me there was nothing on me, he search my booklet yet nothing, he ask me where is my question paper and I showed him just the front because it was the back we wrote on, when he saw it he flipped the back and saw the question paper and ask me who wrote this and what is all this I told him I wrote it with all the back and font he told me to sit down
Minute later he went outside and bought exam malpractice form and gave me and others those who were using chukuli, phones, book and other material to write.
I beg him that I wrote it, all pleading fell to deaf ear, when I saw he was yielding and time was going and no time to beg I just had to fill the paper. I filled it so I can beg him later so I would be able to write something
To get the long story short, 3 days later I was invigated to the student disciplinary board to explain what happened Which I did, I pleaded and beg that it won’t happen again, thry told me I will be punished but not expelled In my school examination malpractice is straight expulsion no matter who you may know.
2 days later I got I call from my classrep that I was given 2years rustication. Even since then I have been sad, depressed and lonely and I can’t even tell my parents because they will be disappointed in me, I have been carrying a burden since early November and now it January, I have been thinking none stop, I have been contemplating suicide to be honest, I don’t pray this kind of situation for my worst enemies and those who haven’t been will never truly knows the pain it cause till you’re in the situation
Please i need help and words of encouragement Even if you blame me, the dead has already been done, I Bleep up and I accepted my mistake
Please guys I’m dying In silence, I can’t even wait till February 17th, it killing me knowing few days to graduation I was rusticated, what will I tell my parent, or people that have help me one way or another in school. I’m devastated to be honest
I might be ending it any moment from now because this pain is unbearable for me, I just want it to end so I can live a normal life again but I can’t keep living like this. Ignore my typo error
Please someone should help me push it to front page Suicide is a no go area. Your stay in school was extended by 2 years. You were not expelled or dismissed. Hope you have learnt your lessons. Your world has not come to an end. Suicide is first class ticket to hell fire burning with hot brimstones Accept the outcome with good faith Strategize on how to graduate with good grades and do away with microchips during future examinations. |
