BusinessRe: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by chiboycue: 6:03pm On Jun 02
Jef4u:
Hello Nairalanders,

I am creating this thread to publicly call out the gross incompetence of GTBank (@gtbank) and First Bank (@FirstBankngr). I am currently completely stranded, out of cash, and cannot even afford transport fare because both banks are holding onto my money and playing games with my life.

On the 25th of May, 2026, I transferred ₦50,000 from my First Bank account to my GTBank account.

First Bank debited me instantly. After a week of crying out to both banks, First Bank customer care on X just sent me a DM confirming the transaction was successful on their end and gave me the official 30-digit NIBSS Session ID: 000016260525212658002065390897.

Here is where the wickedness from GTBank starts:
1. Over the weekend, a GTBank agent checked their deep server logs and confirmed to me on WhatsApp that they saw the transaction sitting on their server gate on a "BLANK STATUS."

2. Because they saw it, they created a formal inward dispute ticket for me with Reference ID: 260601353720618 and promised it would be credited.

3. Shockingly, this morning (Tuesday, June 2nd), another GTBank agent named Eberechi Chukwueke sent me an email (CRM:033400000396) completely contradicting the bank, claiming they have "no evidence" of the transaction and told me to go back to First Bank!

How can a bank issue a tracking reference ID for a stuck transaction on Monday, and then turn around on Tuesday to say "no evidence"?

If GTBank's server gate rejected the "blank status" transaction, it means the ₦50,000 has automatically reversed back into First Bank’s internal suspense ledger, and First Bank is lazily sitting on my money without crediting my app dashboard!

I am stuck at home, starving, and stranded. Both banks need to stop passing the buck. One of you is sitting on my ₦50,000.

Please help me tag @gtbank and @FirstBankngr handles on social media. Moderators, please move this to the Front Page to save an innocent customer from this institutional nightmare!
Sorry oh
Please send your official complaint against the banks to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Consumer Protection Department at cpd@cbn.gov.ng.

Before escalating an issue to the CBN, you are required to first lodge the complaint directly with your bank and allow them a minimum of 14 days (or the stipulated regulatory timeframe) to resolve it.

When you send your email to the CBN, include the following details:

Your full name, account number, and contact details

The name and branch of the bank you are reporting

The date and channel of the transaction in question

The exact amount involved

Details of your complaint and proof that you already reported it to your bank (e.g., Complaint Reference Number, screenshots of previous emails, and receipts)
You can also copy contact@fccpc.gov.ng (Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) to ensure wider oversight.

Obi - Atiku would have been the best option because the incumbent President is from the South.

Like I said before do you want to win election or you want to do trial by error. Zonal presidency to the south will not change anything. The only meaningful and winnable formulata or permutation that can win an election is Atiku-Obi any other permutation is a lost.
All those talk that Obi is talking that I will do a single tenure if I won, enters one ear and passes the other in the North. They don't buy such conversation. Tinubu will just successfully rigged the entire country results.
As long as Atiku is in the ballot Tinubu cannot rig Atiku Northern results because the North will not accept it. But Obi results will be rigged across the country and they will do that with else.
Election is next year na. Watch what will happen to Obi across the South except the East.
Mr Peter Obi made the best choice in choosing Alhaji Kwankwaso as his running mate. I believe the North would vote for them. Alhaji Atiku made the mistake of not choosing Barr Wike as his running mate in the last Presidential election. If he has done so he would have won the election. Alhaji Atiku cannot beat PBAT in the forthcoming Presidential election.
EducationRe: NUC Ban On HND To Bsc Conversion: What You Need To Know by chiboycue: 11:54am On Jun 01
Awodifire:
A major shake-up is unfolding in Nigeria’s higher education sector after reports emerged that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has directed universities to discontinue Higher National Diploma (HND) to Bachelor of Science (BSc) conversion and top-up programmes across the country. The development has sparked anxiety among polytechnic graduates, prospective students, and education stakeholders.

What Exactly Happened?
Several Nigerian universities have begun announcing the suspension of their HND conversion and top-up programmes, citing compliance with NUC directives.

Among the institutions that have publicly confirmed the move is Kwara State University, which stated that its Top-Up/HND Conversion programme would be discontinued from the 2025/2026 academic session in line with NUC regulations.

Similarly, Al-Hikmah University announced the immediate suspension of admissions into its top-up degree programmes, saying future undergraduate admissions would only come through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Why Is the Issue Generating So Much Attention?
For years, HND holders have relied on conversion or top-up programmes to bridge the long-standing gap between polytechnic and university qualifications.

Many employers in Nigeria have historically treated HND and BSc holders differently, especially in recruitment, promotion, and career progression. Because of this, thousands of polytechnic graduates enrolled in university conversion programmes to obtain bachelor’s degrees and improve their opportunities.

The reported NUC directive now threatens one of the most popular pathways used by HND holders to upgrade their qualifications.

Did the NUC Ever Fully Approve These Programmes?
This question sits at the center of the controversy.

Reports circulating after the latest directive claim that the NUC maintained it never formally approved HND-to-BSc conversion programmes in the manner many universities operated them.

The commission had previously distanced itself from a separate HND-to-degree conversion initiative promoted by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), arguing that universities and polytechnics operate different academic structures and standards.

This suggests the current crackdown may be part of a broader effort by regulators to tighten control over qualification conversion schemes.

What Happens to Students Already Enrolled?
This remains one of the biggest unanswered questions.

Universities such as KWASU have stated that the NUC will provide further guidance on the status of students currently enrolled in conversion programmes. As of now, there has been no widely published directive detailing whether existing students will be allowed to complete their studies or whether special transition arrangements will be introduced.

NUC Ban on HND to BSc Conversion

Education experts believe regulators will likely avoid policies that leave current students stranded, but official clarification is still being awaited.

Does This Mean the HND-BSc Dichotomy Is Over?
Not necessarily.

Ironically, the debate over HND and BSc equivalence has intensified in recent years. Some government reforms have sought to reduce discrimination against polytechnic graduates, particularly within the public service.

However, the discontinuation of conversion programmes raises fresh questions about how HND holders can advance academically if one of the most common upgrade routes disappears.

What Could Be the Impact?

For Polytechnic Graduates
Fewer opportunities to obtain university degrees through top-up arrangements.
Greater uncertainty about academic progression.
Renewed concerns about workplace discrimination.
For Universities
Loss of a programme that attracted large numbers of working professionals and HND holders.
Increased scrutiny from regulators regarding admission practices.

For the Education Sector

Fresh pressure on government to address the HND-BSc debate permanently.
Possible reforms involving polytechnic education, degree-awarding status, and qualification recognition.
The Bigger Question

The controversy goes beyond conversion programmes. It revives a national conversation that has lasted decades: Should Nigeria continue to maintain a distinction between HND and BSc qualifications, or should polytechnic graduates enjoy equal recognition based on competence and professional performance?

Until the NUC issues a comprehensive public statement explaining the policy, many students and institutions will remain uncertain about the future of HND conversion programmes.

For now, one thing is clear: the reported NUC directive has reopened one of the most sensitive debates in Nigeria’s education system.

The coalition would have worked if Sen David Mark's led ADC decided to zone the presidential ticket to South. since the ADC failed to do so, Mr Peter had no option but leave the party. NDC had the boldness to do the needful. There are about 22 political parties in Nigeria and each of them is expected to field a candidate. Goldrosewine:
This does not imply sexual interests, abeg o just bored today on this holiday and I have decided to rant here, since I saw a similar post recently about a guy saying confidence is what a lady cannot resist in a man. I won't appreciate any unsolicited messages🙏

Dentition: Gap teeth (you know what I mean, especially a small one right between the central incisors) or just between the lateral incisor and canine)

Thick wrist (not fats deposit, just wrists with a wide circumference)

Minimal or no bodily hairs. Yeah a lot will hate me for this, just my opinion which may change or not. But those beards, chest or armpit hairs? Taah!

Height. However you must not be too tall. I am 5:9 so anything from 5:6 to 5:11 is perfect.

Modesty and awesomeness (not extreme masculinity) I am not a feminist abeg. I like guys that are gentle, pull the chair for you at the restaurant, hold an umbrella for you, hold the door open for you, just being a gentleman. Absolute modesty and simple too. Not a show off dude haha!

Healthy lifestyle. There is nothing I dislike more than a guy who smokes or drinks or do both. I don't just dislike them, I h-word them. Take your good health seriously guys, go for rehab if you need to.

Small inner circle. Guys with few or no friends. The introvert who enjoys his own company.

Respectful. The guy that still prostrate to greet his dad at 30 years, still run errands for his mom at 35 (not necessarily because he is living with them, but maybe sometimes when he visits or when they give him an emergency call) that level of respect is the norm for every omoluabi.

Not bald. As much as I dislike body hairs, e no reach head abeg🤣

Belly fat. (Not pot belly) I love belly fat in a man, especially the type that gives him the wealthy boy vibe when he's in a native. I don't know but in Benin republic, I once saw this muscular, six pack guy that bullied people and he had an altercation with this gentle guy who looks ordinary, he even had a fatty belly. Against what people thought, it was the muscular guy that needed saving o, see blue black beating. Lol. It kind of left an impression on me.

Speech intelligence. Even if you no know book, just have good oratory skills and be eloquent. I would like to see my man on a podium speaking with great eloquence while I sit in the crowd or assembly just admiring him and looking at how other ladies are admiring him😊🥰🥰🥰 aiish

Phobia. Scared of snakes or rats or spiders or cocroaches lol even my cousin would tell me I will never find this trait in a Nigerian man. But I am not scared of those things. So I would really like a guy that has such fears, that way I would be able to do something for him and it would make me feel good🤦🙈 it's hard to explain honestly.🥲🥲

Ambitious. he dreams big, not jealous of success, just envying it and ambitious to reach the top too.

Laughs a lot. That would be golden!

He cries. Like, weep Take this from me. If you ever express your sadness in tears while in your girl's arm, it does something to her heart... she'd start clutching to you so hard. Don't be manly all the time. Sometimes, just let the feelings flow. Life is already hard for everyone, talkless a man.🥺 I feel u guys.

Straight legs No vex but I dislike wobbly legs... and many guys have come to have a sort of disfigured legs due to bad walking posture, trying to copy one silly trend or so, etc.

Gentle with kids and pets That would be another golden trait!

Extremely decent with words and actions when in public The way he eats, talks, interact, just everything. Especially in Nigeria where people judge you by your countenance and how you 'carry' yourself.

You know the sort of guys that gleefully talk about women's body parts in public? That's so uncouth and all ladies detest such.

Gold🌹🍷

Families are not at peace. Parents are worried every time their children leave home. Students are afraid. Workers are afraid. Farmers are afraid. Nobody feels safe anymore.

Life is becoming very hard. Food is expensive. Survival is difficult. And yet the fear of insecurity sits on top of everything like a heavy weight.

Government at all levels should focus more on protecting lives and property. Not politics. Not 2027. People are suffering now.

Please and please, help free these children and their teachers.

No child deserves this. No Nigerian deserves this.

We need safety again. We need peace again.
In spite of the abnormalities in the country about 10million people still came out under the sun and in the rain to show solidarity and support for this government to continue for a second term. Shame.

[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=139496095]“We sleep outside and barely eat, yet I will stand by my husband” — Lady says

A woman has moved many social media users after sharing her struggle with homelessness and poverty while insisting she would never abandon her husband despite their difficult condition.

The lady narrated how she and her husband reportedly travelled a long distance to Abuja in search of a better life but have been homeless since January.

According to her, the couple now sleep outside and often struggle to find food, yet she remains committed to staying with her husband because of the love and bond they share.

Woman says family abandoned her over marriage
Speaking emotionally, the woman explained that some members of her family turned against her because she refused to leave her husband for another man despite their financial hardship.

“I cannot leave my husband for any reason. Because of him, all my family members abandoned me. We’ve been homeless since January and we sleep outside, but I’ll never leave my husband. We barely see food to eat and people laugh at us as if we are nothing.”

Couple holding on to faith
The woman further revealed that her grandmother chased her out of the house after she refused pressure to marry someone else.

She added that her husband was financially stable before she became pregnant for him, but circumstances later changed.

“He was not this poor when I got pregnant for him, but regardless, I have decided to stay with him. We’ve been praying and I know God will come through for us,” she added.

The touching story has since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians praising her loyalty while others called for support for the struggling couple.

Rapmoney:
For some days, the internet has been on fire over the alleged affair between the wife of Nigerian TV personality, Frank Edoho and singer, Chike.

I am not the type of person that spends much time online following trending stories, and all that, but one thing I noticed is that each time the story pops up, and I view the comments, I feel so ashamed at some of our young Nigerian mothers. What are you teaching your sons and daughters when you openly support a cheating wife? Would you openly showcase such support if the victim happens to be your brother or son?

Now, to the young men out there, let me give you a candid advice, and this is the gospel truth. Not every man out there is as meek as Frank Edoho. Some men out there are tigers and lions that belong to various cult groups. If you sleep with their wives, they will spend their time and money to make sure that you either leave the surface of the Earth, or you lose your hands and legs, and become useless in life.

My secondary school classmate had his head butchered with a matchet, and his right leg cut off at Isolo, Lagos for romancing with another man's wife. Unfortunately, he could not make it, as he died in the hospital after four days.

Whether a man is taking care of his wife or not, leave them alone. It is a family affair. God did not create you to be providing comfort or romance for women who lack such in their marriage. Please, it is not your duty to provide succour to a woman who lacks romance or care in her home. Just because you have six packs and a handsome face. Many men have gone. Be wise!

This is not a bro code. It is a warning. There is something Warri people call 'To die kamala'. It means to die for something that is not worth it.
If the accusation against Chike is true, then karma would catch up with him. He would reap what he sows

I don't think he would be able to retain the deputy speaker position after 2027 election and his church mind tod him that contesting against Gov Oti, the transformation governor that gave his wife a political appointment, would be a political suicide.
His best choice would be to abandon his governorship ambition and to be less vocal afterwards.

Educational ServicesRe: Difference Between Polytechnic And Universities In Nigeria. by chiboycue: 10:44am On May 09
I
EBossupdates01:
[b]Difference between polytechnic and university in Nigeria.

*{1a}* In University the minimum duration of your programme depends on the course of study. It can be 3, 4, 5, 6 or even 7 years

*{1b}* In Polytechnic your minimum duration of study is 5 years. Two years for National Diploma (ND), one year compulsory Industrial training (IT), two years for (HND)
*__________________________________________________________________*

*{2a}* You can study any course in a University; Science, Arts, Law, Medicine, Engineering, Social Science and Commercial courses.

*{2b}* In Polytechnic you can’t study courses like Medicine and Surgery, medical related courses, Law, and some social science course.
*__________________________________________________________________*

*{3a}* After completing your course in University, and you graduate with at least second class lower, you can go for a Master Degree in your programme.

*{3b}* After completing your HND Programme in a Polytechnic, you can’t apply for a Masters Degree with just your HND Certificate. You must do a compulsory one year Postgraduate Diploma (PGD).
*__________________________________________________________________*

*{4a}* Tussle for Admission is Once: Once you gain admission into a Nigerian University to attain your first degree, you don’t need any other entrance examination to get your Degree. Say you gained admission to study Statistics, you won’t write any other entrance examination again. You just need to write semester examinations.

*{4b}* Tussle for Admission is Twice: In Polytechnic, there is ND and HND. First you gain admission to get your ND certificate. After the programme you must apply for admission to get the HND certificate. This means writing the entrance examination or applying for admission twice.
*__________________________________________________________________*

*{5a}* Once you start, you must wait until you complete your four or five years programme before you can use your certificate to apply for job

*{5b}* In polytechnic, after two years in the school you get your ND certificate. You can use this certificate to apply for job. But note that lately people who have ND are under paid.
*__________________________________________________________________*

{6a} Except for some few courses, University teaching is theory based.

{6b} Most of their courses are practical based. Just few courses are theory based.
*__________________________________________________________________*

{7a} University requires higher UTME Score. In 2019, the lowest JAMB cut-off mark was 160. However, some Universities minimum was 180 while others 200.

{7b} Polytechnics accepts students with low JAMB UTME scores. In 2019, most Polytechnics accepted JAMB candidates who scored 120 in UTME
*__________________________________________________________________*
HND graduates that are employed in the MDAs (Ministries, Departments and Agencies ) cannot rise above grade level 14 with just their HND certificate alone. They would have to aquire PGD and Master and apply for conversion before rising above grade level 14 while University graduates can rise above grade level 14 in MDAs.

HND graduates cannot lecture in a university with only their HND qualifications alone while a University graduate can lecture in a polytechnic or monotechnic institution with their qualifications.
