He argued that the failure of INEC to promptly upload the results from polling units through BVAS to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal on the day of the election invalidated the exercise....I guess this to be Obi's finest point in his petitons |

How will you rigg an election where you are not qualify contest? paragraph(1) is the subject matter of the case which may kill or give birth to remaining 4 paragraphs. Also the 3rd paragraph should not have been brought into matter at all because it is only when you are qualify to stand for an election(Actions before reactions)before a certain requirement will be met in the election. If Obi's paragraph 1 prayer should be granted by the court that ends everything about the election..The summary of Obi going to court is that Tinubu is not qualify to stand for and election and i guess the case of qualification should be a pre-election matter no a post election. |

Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Rivers State, has rejected the results of the just-concluded election, and demanded that the electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should cancel the election because it did not reflect the choices and will of people of the state. This was according to a joint press conference on Monday evening addressed by Sobomabo Jackrich of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Tonye Ibraye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Cole. Recall that INEC had declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Siminalayi Fubara, the winner of last Saturday’s governorship election. Fubara, the “anointed” candidate of Governor Nyesom Wike, polled 302,614 votes to defeat Tonye Cole who scored 95,274.But the APC candidate called on INEC to cancel the election, following “widespread violence and irregularities”. He however advised his supporters to remain calm as he takes steps to reclaim their mandate. The NRM candidate and his ADC counterpart, who had earlier stepped down for Cole, said the violence and intimidation which characterised the March 18 election in the state were too visible to be ignored by the commission. |

Notorious Lagos thug, Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya, says he was joking when he threatened Igbos who will not vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) in tomorrow’s governorship election, to stay at home. Peoples Gazette reported how Mr Akinsanya, leader of the Lagos motorparks management committee, who commands the militant wing of the ruling APC in Lagos, issued the threat in a viral video on Thurday. “I was only joking; I am not threatening any Igbo person,” MC Oluomo said. “Go and ask my Igbo people at Oshodi; go and investigate there, they will tell you that I am not threatening anybody.” He said that he “was discussing with my sister, Iya Chukwudi. I was referring to her that Iya Chukwudi, if you are not voting for me, sit down at home and the next thing I saw was the video on social media.” Criticised by citizens, who also called for his arrest and prosecution for threatening to disenfranchise citizens from exercising their civic right, MC Oluomo in another video on Friday admitted he made the controversial statement. The Nigerian police on Friday said they are investigating those behind the MC Oluomo’s threat video. However, many believe MC Oluomo’s threat could scare potential voters away from exercising their franchise on Saturday as the incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu fights for re-election. This comes after the APC suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Labour Party during the February 25 presidential polls in the state, despite violence and intimidation of voters. In the presidential election, Labour’s Peter Obi defeated APC flag bearer Bola Tinubu in Lagos. Mr Obi polled 582,454 votes against the former two-term Lagos governor’s 572,606 votes in his home turf. Mr Tinubu was subsequently declared winner of the election after total results from 36 states were collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). However, Mr Obi’s unprecedented victory in Lagos has positioned his party’s candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, as a major challenger of Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC in the election scheduled for tomorrow. |
INEC DON'T DENY THIS AFTER THE ELECTION TOMORROW....OO,“That original result will be what will be scanned and uploaded to our INEC Result Viewing Portal for public viewing. Not only that, the accreditation data that has arisen from that polling unit will also be uploaded, but the physical result and the BVAS itself will also be taken to the Registration Area Collation centre.” According to him(Festus Okoye), the Collation Officer will have the benefit of seeing the original results and the BVAS itself and have the benefit of looking at the accreditation data as transmitted, and the result sheet as transmitted from the polling unit. That is the dual mode that the law has prescribed for the commission and that is the mode that we’re going to use for the purpose of this election. Vote Labour from Top to Bottom. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbKhCAaRLfc Today, 17 March 2023, Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court (“ICC” or “the Court”) issued warrants of arrest for two individuals in the context of the situation in Ukraine: Mr Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Ms Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova. Mr Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, born on 7 October 1952, President of the Russian Federation, is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation (under articles 8(2)(a)(vii) and 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute). The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes, (i) for having committed the acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others (article 25(3)(a) of the Rome Statute), and (ii) for his failure to exercise control properly over civilian and military subordinates who committed the acts, or allowed for their commission, and who were under his effective authority and control, pursuant to superior responsibility (article 28(b) of the Rome Statute). Ms Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, born on 25 October 1984, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation (under articles 8(2)(a)(vii) and 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute). The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Ms Lvova-Belova bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes, for having committed the acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others (article 25(3)(a) of the Rome Statute). Pre-Trial Chamber II considered, based on the Prosecution’s applications of 22 February 2023, that there are reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect bears responsibility for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population and that of unlawful transfer of population from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, in prejudice of Ukrainian children. The Chamber considered that the warrants are secret in order to protect victims and witnesses and also to safeguard the investigation. Nevertheless, mindful that the conduct addressed in the present situation is allegedly ongoing, and that the public awareness of the warrants may contribute to the prevention of the further commission of crimes, the Chamber considered that it is in the interests of justice to authorise the Registry to publicly disclose the existence of the warrants, the name of the suspects, the crimes for which the warrants are issued, and the modes of liability as established by the Chamber. The abovementioned warrants of arrests were issued pursuant to the applications submitted by the Prosecution on 22 February 2023. |
