I saw a patient who came in with a headache.

She had done a Widal test and was told the result showed a “significant titre,” so she believed she had typhoid and came for treatment.

But when I checked her blood pressure, it was 190/100.

She already knew she had hypertension but wasn't taking medications.

We had to have a serious conversation about her blood pressure and why she shouldn't just assume every headache is typhoid.

It made me wonder...

you can have those symptoms in typhoid unfortunately Nigerians go to quacks (chemists , drug dealers, neighbours, pastors , Imam , traditional rulers ,cleaners ,ancestors ) who are not trained to diagnose diseases to avoid spending money.
