Verrati is a more technically gifted version of Vidal. Vidal for most part controls the midfield with his tireless running and unrelenting workrate. Veratti on the otherhand whilst able to do those things controls the midfield with his footballing brains. He can pick a midfield apart with his passing skills a la Pirlo or Xavi(obviously not as good yet). For example at Juve, Pirlo was the brains of that midfield while Vidal was it's brawns. Verratti gives you the best of both worlds.
