Mcleo007: Looking at the game, on the tactical front, Pep won. Hes the boss when it comes to tweaks and tactics. He started the game with a 3-5-2 that drifts to a 3-4-3 as the game progressed, especially when they have the ball. That raised a high line of defence and hard pressing from the midfield players. Would have been a difficult one for us had their key players played. They controlled the game better and would have gotten a decent result from the game. Perhaps, a draw or slight loss. His team got completely annihilated and you are telling me He won the tactical battle? |

Debroslink: Last time Barca won the UCL in 2011, they defeated Mourinho's Madrid 5-0 in the league. Mourinho's Chelsea could not defeat PSG with a man down, yet, this same PSG conceded 5 goals against Barca. The current Barca team will beat Chelsea easily whether you park the bus or not. Barca of 2012, where they relied on only Messi is not as good as this Barca side where they have MSN. As i said on the Munich thread, i'll still pick Pep over Jose but no way does Barca beat Chelsea EASILY. I'll eat my shorts if that ever happens. Worst case scenario, Jose packs the Molue and barca shades it |

Guardiola has failed Bayern. This team with this quality should not lose this badly!
Allegri with this team would not lose this way For real though. Did not think it would end up this bad. It's not everyday attack sometimes defend too. It's a two legged affair not a one off game. With a bit more caution , that game would have ended in a stalemate |

A40: Not necessarily. I was quite specific about the guys I think could fight Mayweather based on their skills and different attributes. Mayweather was smart and managed his career brilliantly. He's 38 and only has 48 fights. Hagler retired before 35 and had almost 70 bouts.
He was never knocked down. I have no doubt he would have been killed by Hagler if they ever got in the ring. This isn't ninjas with suspect chins like Hatton, De La Hoya, Cotto and even Pacman to an extent or a Mosley at almost 40. I make bold to say no fighter in this present generation would go the distance with Hagler including Mayweather Exactly He is incredibly smart. In and out of the ring If I might add. There is no chance In hell Hagler would have beaten Mayweather to a pulp. NOT A CHANCE!. May has the higher ring IQ of the two and will adjust to whatever is being thrown at him by round 4/5. It'll be an incredibly tight contest brah. Pacman probably won't go the distance as his style plays right into the hands of Hagler. However May definitely goes the distance. I don't care who you are If you face mayweather you are going to miss more shots than you land and that leaves you open to counters. Floyd MAY end up not winning but that fight DEFINITELY goes the distance |

JustKay3: While I feel nostalgia plays a role in the older's generations argument about sportmen of year's past, there is no LIE in saying boxers of nowadays are chumps.Go on youtube and watch the fab 4 take turns on each other and get back to me. (Google Roberto Duran's no Mas for a start..lol).The fact we have to, for ANY reason at all see this so called fight of the century now says it all....let's start with why the fight didn't happen years ago when both fighters were at their prime. I have seen all of that Bro. There is not one of the all time classics I am yet to watch. There is a reason why I specifically picked mayweather out of this current bunch. No one is for a second saying this era is much better. However We should stop underrating this current era. Why it did not happen years ago is anyone's guess. They've been a lot of reasons being thrown about why however no one but the two boxer's camp know the exact reasons |

I think we tend to overrate Boxers from eras gone by and underrate those from this current Gen. People say things like " Oh Sugar Ray Leonard would have KOed Mayweather if they ever met". Nucca pleaseeeee!..... None of Hagler,Hearns or Leonard is stoping Prettyboy. I can assure of that. The fight will DEFINITELY go the distance. |

SirShymexx: I'm sorry, Mr. Dunderhead, I don't do illiterate-speak.
I just speak based on reality, and if it's about listing just anyone in a backwater University, then you should be able to list at least a thousand of them with ease.
I was expecting distinguished academics, top of the pops, not just anyone.
Based on this list - even Sierra Leone should be able to produce a far better list than this one.
Like I said earlier: only two (or maybe three) of them are distinguished academics. Thank me, later. In as much as it pains me, this is the truth. |

JonBee1: Why is Mayweather proclaimed the best Pound for Pound in the world? I didn't see any evidence of that in him jumping around, holding down the other guy and always on the defense. I wont pay a dime to see the re-match if there will be any. The only thing I got from that fight is that Mayweather is an entertainer in Boxing while Pacquiao is a genuine fighter. Anyway the fighter was not as great as it was billed most partly down to tactics of Mayweather.
If I may add, that match was like Chelsea(Mayweather) and Barcelona(Pacquiao) and I'm a Chelsea fan. Mayweather is NOT a great boxer, only a good one at finding ways to win no matter how it makes the sport of boxing look bad. No wonder interest in boxing had dwindle since Tyson,Holyfield and Lennox Lewis era. I wont bother watching another boxing match again - Kolawole Ali No one will miss you hombre. You might as well give your tv to charity while you at it . |

princejayboss: Yes that is in Nigeria that people don't know just like the way we don't know nothing about NFL but people are crazy about this sports in north America, south America , Asia etc .... As much as I love the NFL, i have to admit it's still mainly an American sport. Don't get me wrong though, the fan base in other countries are growing on a daily basis. The same can be said of the UFC. It's mostly loved by the hardcore fans in those regions. Any sport CAN have Hardcore loyalists, it's nothing new. I'd start to take it serious as a threat to the noble sport when it starts to command even a quarter of Boxing's audience. |

SirShymexx: I don't dislike him - I just think he talks too much. Especially for a guy who gets knocked out by bums all the time. I actually thought he was a great prospect when he was coming up, till Prescott knocked him out. Gave him another shot - and Garcia knocked him out again. Then I became indifferent about the guy.
At least Prince Naseem was fun to watch and he was a warrior. He actually won a few big fights till Barrera, in his prime, came calling. He never recovered from that. I understand how you feel man. He talks the talk but hardly ever backs it up. Still a decent fighter though. Not on the Floyd/Manny level but still good nonetheless. Methinks He should fight Kell Brook first. He was ill prepared for that fight Bro. Heard his training camp leading up to that fight was nothing to write home about plus his army of entourage He had around were nothing short of a distraction. |

Floyd senior is ready for this and announced that Money is going to try and end it early. My money is on Counter punch KO in the 4th,5th or 6th.

roymary: Styles makes fight- A southpaw boxer is a huge problem and when you have a boxer like Pacman with unimaginable punching angles and awesome footwork with devastating left hook- you are in for a hell of a night. WHen PAcman got knocked out by Marquez, Manny was winning that damn fight- he got too reckless and was caught. Every boxer has a bad day and i guess that was his- Tonight Floyd will kiss the canvass- he couldn't handpick Manny. It definitely does. It's all well and good highlighting Pacs advantages but He has never fought a Boxer like Pretty. The advantage Manny has over Floyd are speed, stamina and being a more powerful puncher(we all know Floyd is more accurate but Manny hits harder). However these are the categories Floyd has been beat - RING IQ: As I said earlier on this page, no one does the infight adjustment thingy better than Floyd. It would seem like He is loosing a fight one moment and then the next He is to another UD. He is a master tactician when it comes to the aspect. -FOOTWORK: yes Pacman has the in and out movement. Yes His footwork is amazing but is it greater than Floyd's? Don't think so. Being probably the best defensive boxer of all time(pau Floyd's TBE comments no attention) requires you to possess sublime footwork. He has also mastered the "Hit and do not get Hit" boxing mantra down to a tee. He never stays in one place, He is always on his toes hence why distractors like to throw the "Running" jibe at it. Lastly Marquez who knows a thing or two about footwork says Floyd's better and I agree - CHIN :Manny has been knocked out Floyd hasn't. Need I say more. Although it can be argued Manny's style leaves him open for a knockout but who's fault is that |

Truth234: Lol..You are funny, Manny drew Marquez in 2004, lost to him in the 4th encounter. I am just responding to you for fun, you don't know boxing No mind am. Dude knows next to nothing about boxing but still insists on calling out folks with superior knowledge on the noble sport. If manny keeps close and tight to Prettyboy all through the fight, If He can maintain the same level of intensity all through the rounds, He has an absolutely massive chance(Make it a brawler's contest rather than a Boxers). If not It's May. People tend to forget Mayweather in addition to being one of the most supremely gifted BOXER of all time is also one of the hardest worker in the history of Sport(Yes u heard that right.
