I was referring to the big 4 audit firms in Nigeria. In case you don't know, they are one of the least paying corporations in Nigeria...I am sure the dummy sagamite doesn't know that. In addition, most engineers rightly prefer to work in engineering firms. No engineer wants to end up in an audit firm...that which sagamite is dying for grin
That guy is narrow-minded cheesy
My bad Bro grin. Thought you were referring to the Big 4 Accounting Firms. I'm not going to and neither I am willing to get myself involved in you and Saga's higgi hagga(as the Hon Patrick would say grin).

I am actually quite surprised that they are one of the least paying firms. Are there any specific reasons for that being the case? I would have thought they would be looking to attract the best brains the Nigerian Labour market has to offer? How are they able to do that when other firms are offering healthier financial packages? Or are they just getting by on their name alone meaning people are willing to work for them regardless of pay packet?

During my time in the labour market searching for a good living, I got to the final stage of one of the big 4. But I didn't go for the interview. Why? Cos I got better offers elsewhere. So fcvk it!
Are you telling me you were that close to possibly securing a job at one of the Big 4 firms and you turned it down? Not only did you turn it down, you also had "BETTER OFFERS" elsewhere? Really? Common Brah grin.

I attended Durham. I never quit when I was at the big 4. My articles came to an end and I applied to various firms and i got a nice offer at the current place i am working at( it's actually after the big 4 and it's quite well know). Secondly as surprisingly as it may sound to you I never wanted to stay on further. There was a lot of stuff I did not like as well as the 'usual' politics if you get my drift.
Durham is actually a very gòod uni. Part of the russell group of universities. A step below the tier 1 uk universities(along with the likes of Manchester,Bristol,Warwick and Kings) but still a very good one nonethless.

However I still have a hard time believing the 3 out of 4 scenario. My reasons being that the First tier of universities(oxbridge,LSE) are their main priorities. Had you said one, i would have been more inclined to believe that because I know for a fact they actually do visit Durham but three is a stretch. The likes that are coveted by 3 or all of the Big 4 are those with "outstanding qualities" which most times refers to the oxbridge calibre students.

So where you actually recruited by this big 3 firm(I say big 3 because i'd be surprised if it were Pwc) or were you just on a test and trial period?

Heya :-)

No your ears are not deceiving you. Not to blow my own trumpet but I did get accepted to 3 of the 4 big firms and I did my articles with one. Am actually working at a medium size firm now(well known but for privacy sake will not mention it). Academics was a big part of my life and it was something that was ingrained in my siblings and I since we were young.

Are you in the Uk?
Just out of curiosity what uni did you attend? I know for a fact that If u are not an oxbridge graduate or did not attend a top 4-5 uni, you'll need to show "Exceptional Qualities" if they are to hire you. Yes competition for limited spaces in those firms are that fierce.

Also I don't buy the idea that you quit a big 4 firm for a medium sized one. Most people that say they quit were infact gotten rid off. Yes I know it does happen but that is rarely the case. The staff turnover ratio at these firms is not to be sniffed at.

With regards to the last part, North London Born and partially bred

Are my ears deceiving me or did I someone claim She was coveted by 3 of the Big 4 accounting firms?. Really? Not one, not two but THREE?

Why am I finding that hard to believe? You must have either attended Oxbridge or at least gotten a good first class degree from a top4-5 UK university to stand a chance of that happening. That is because those are the calibre of Universities these Companies pitch their tents at.

so iniesta is average because his goals and assist have been average so far in his career.
Nah unlike a Certain Belgian, iniesta always turns up in big games for both club and country. Hazard on other hand is not even Belgium's best player. Heck He is not in the top 3 of their standout performers

@chic2pimp or any Serie A follower this season, is it true that Xherdan Shaqiri flopped at InterMilan?

Sterling is not better than Salah or Cuadrado.

So I'm not sure why Nateevs would rather Sterling over Reus.

Chic2pimp you don make them ban me sha, after composing a really nice essay about the work of a flanker.
Looool Ndo. Would really love to see that essay. Can pretty much guess what your essay will say though. It'll be something along the lines of supporting play(should always make himself available to receive a pass and be able to offload it) and the work they do in the breakdown of plays(rucks and mauls).

Btw did you hear the English fans chant about Sepp? CLASSIC! grin. You can't help but love em' cheesy grin

Big game player! It would be easier for fish to fall from the sky than for England to produce such a cerebral player
That's quite harsh grin grin. Stranger things have happened u know. The one thing that will prevent england from producing such a player is the way the academies here are run. Most academy coaches will see him as to short and weak to run a midfield not realising there is more to midfield play than just brawns and athleticism.

He had been written off on these very pages just a few months back.

What a way to remind us of his imperious abilities....

Provide an assist in a UCL finals? Against the Italian Champs? In under 5 minutes from Kick off?

Say no more. It's done.
You can never right a player of his calibre off. Sooner rather than later he'll make you eat your words. The way he glides past players is such a joy to watch. He knows when to slow the pace of the game down and when to take it up a notch. Such a class act. I am yet to hear of a stage where Iniesta has failed to perform. Him,Xavi and Pirlo are my Holy trinity of midfielders(you can add Bastian to that list too)

It's been in the news all week.
Dude was a good 6, but I would never label him the 'best' at any point of his career.

Even at the 'peak' of his career around 2006-7, the incredible Schalk Burger(as my brother-in-law calls him lol)was undoubtably by far the superior flanker.

Yes, he was a beast in the maul. But Imo a 6 by definition is chosen for that very quality. But what's the point of winning a turnover, if your offloading skills can be suspect?

Did you ever see him carry? How many career tries did he have? Only thing you probably remember is his big hits...which were phenomenal though!

The man was a Kiwi for God's sake. Them lot live and breathe the sport. Every kid out there has the fundamentals mastered before they're 12, but I don't think I ever saw him do a single sidestep playing for AB.

Look at someone like Tom Croft(yes hyping a tigers player) or Coetzee for the springboks.

Hell, Look at Kaino playing that same position now for AB.

Don't let the media love-in fool you. There's a reason why he had such a journey man career
No true great moves from France to the UK.

His profile is probably larger in death than it ever was in life, and I say this as an All Black fan.

RIP to the man still.
Mate i actually think He was the best for an incredibly short period of time though. His reign was not like that of burger or McCaw(no one will ever be that consistently great ever again)but still great all the same. I also remember watching him outplay Burger during the Tri nations a couple or so times so to say He was simply just a hitting machine is a bit unfair. Fair enough his offloading skills were not the best but i think it looks worse than it actually is because He was playing next to richie.

You were never going to see Collins do a sidestep dude was built like a brickhouse. His arms and upper body in general were massive. Even bigger than Lomu's for feck sake. I think his so called journey man exploits had more to do with his troubles off the pitch. Dude was as reckless off the pitch as He was on it. He was always one step away from doing jail time or doing something incredibly stupid. All in all a great and colourful player that would be missed.

I watched Conrad Smith(very underrated player btw) choking and fighting back tears during his interview. Must have hit him and Ma'a Nonu very hard. The trio were apparently very close. What a shame really

Nihilist did you hear about the death of the great All blacks player Jerry Collins? He was one of the best if not the best blindside flanker in world rugby during his peak not forgetting He was the best and most forecious hitter in the world at that time too(one of my favourite players as well).

The All blacks will be wearing black arm bands at the worldcup which is to be expected. That's the lest they can do to honour this legend.
