Ibime:This somewhat explains it sha even if I don't totally buy it. Some of us actually played for teams whose best players were scouted by and joined the academies of teams in the countries Top divisions. Still did not stop us from either watching or playing other sports. I'd hazard a guess and say it's only anathema to you because you lack the talent needed to excel in those sports even if you tried ![]() |
Ibime:Sharrap!..Next time you are at ends i'll teach you how to play footy properly. Ibime:Absolutely not. Age is no barrier. It's a limitation you put on your mind. I'm actually shocked you've been in the country this long and you only follow one sport. Worst still by my guesstimation, you were in your mid teens when your parents bundled you out of Naija so I repeat How is it possible you only follow one Sport? |
Ibime:You can also add the following Ball sports to the List too 1)Rugby- 2nd favourite Ball sport after footy. 80 minutes of intense end to end high octane action. What's there not to love? Watching the Lads lift the Webb Ellis trophy in 03 remains one of my fondest sporting memories. 2) Cricket - Most especially in the Oned day(50 overs) and 20 overs format. The only time I purposely follow Test Cricket is when the Ashes comes around. 3) NFL - my love for this particular sport comes from the time period when a certain Barry Sanders ruled the roost. 4) Lawn Tennis- Head down to SW19 next year When the Most prestigious Major in the sport is on and tell me if you won't fall in Love. You only realise the tremendous amount of Fitness and Skill it takes to be somewhat competitive at the highest level when you watch them up close and personal. It's a thing of beauty I tell you. 5) Golf- I practically only follow the Majors so there is that. In addition to these aforementioned sports, I can give you a list Non Ball Sports I either follow or I am quite conversant in. Variety is the spice of Life o. Btw who says I don't follow any Team in the League? |

airmark:Very useless somebody ![]() Btw I saw your post on the BB thread. You are a Fan then I assume? |
airmark:We plenty for that table ![]() Myself,A40,Roland,Eruditor plus one or 2 others. |
Ibime:Will you kip kwayet!
|
ibkayee:Yup definitely not fake |
Lana1:Nah Nihilist talk this one o |
benji93:I don't expect anyone on that team to consistently turn up come the playoffs bar Giannis and maybe Kris. I fully expect the likes of Bledsoe to revert back to type and start serving us poverty stricken numbers. benji93:Variety or should I say treeeyysss is the name of the modern game. I don't agree with it as I'd rather have Him work on His Mid range but hey who am I to disagree with the MVP. |
airmark:Why you little! ![]()

justwise:If we did a role reversal and transported Middle Class families from their leafy suburbs into High Rise council estates and did vice versa for working class ones, I am willing to bet High Rise buildings will suddenly become desirable whilst your Leafy surburbs becomes the epicenter of Yob/gang culture. The schools in those areas would also experience dramatic improvements. What was once an Oftsed "Needs to improve" school would suddenly be rated "Outstanding". It's not the area itself Bro. It's the type of Families that inhabit those areas. |
LagosismyHome:There is a reason why as soon as we make little money we all come running out of Low income areas into Nice Middle Class areas. |
LagosismyHome:Exactly!...The Gang and Yob culture is peculiar to only certain communities. Low incomes ones. |
justwise:The Gang Issue has everything to do with Poverty. The Middle Class and Upper Class have more Purchasing power to buy these drugs in abundance so why are they not infiltrating these areas with reckless abandon as they are working class ones? There is a correlation between Single parents households and Poverty so yh it still comes back to poverty. Also guess which section of the society Chase even more money than Working class folks? Yup the Middle class ones. justwise:There are a number of Kids in Middle Class areas that want the exact same thing but I don't see them turning to crime in record numbers. As I said earlier, the community in which your kids are raised matters. |
justwise:But I never said there weren't good parents in working class environments. What I said is that in comparison to the working class, the middle class produces more well behaved kids which is true. There is a reason why the Gang/Yob culture is more prevalent in Working class communities. Tbh I am struggling to name one Middle class community that has this problem. Another institution that exposes the stark difference between the two communities are schools. It's of no co-incidence the Majority of Good schools are located in Nice Middle Class areas. The kids that attend these schools are not necessarily smarter, they are however by and large better behaved. Behaviourial issues is one of the biggest hinderances to Educational attainment in the country. |
justwise:I don't think Chasing money and bring up healthy well behaved kids are mutually exclusive. As someone already said on this thread, unless your income bracket puts in the Top 10% of earners in the country, it's extremely difficult to raise a family on a Single Income. May I also add with regards to raising kids, your environment matters. There is a reason why well behaved Kids more often than not come from Middle class Families as opposed to Working class ones. |
.....He is saving it all for the Play offs. E go shock all of you |
Ace2013:No worries Bro. Funny enough I was going to say some Employees actually do pay for the said qualifications. Congrats Man you must be doing something really well. I however do hope you've been made fully aware of the strings attached to the company coughing up the dough for your qualifications. More often than not that'll require you having to work for the Company for a certain amount of time before you become a free agent. CIMA offers more exemptions. Last time I checked they offered two more exemptions(things might have changed now though). I think if you have your heart solely set on working in Financial and Management departments of Companies, then go with your heart which in your case is CIMA. It's a win win situation. However if there is a slight chance you might slightly deviate from that, ACCA it is. A friend of mine for example earns a bit on the side doing People's Personal Accounts. I don't think CIMA affords you that Luxury. I have never come across an individual that holds both set of qualifications. It is either one or the other. Having both is a total waste of time and financial resources as it gives you no added advantage in the job market. My PM has not worked for time now and I don't know how to sort it out. |
airmark:Keep your Rudiger abeg. You expect us to choose the much older player that commands a higher wage over the younger one? Interesting
|
Unlimited22:40M for a 31 year old on the decline? Kwasia!
|
Ace2013:With ACCA's broader approach, you can work in a variety of sectors unlike CIMA which kind of limits you. However if you have your eyes set on working in the Management or Financial department of a Big Company, then CIMA might just be for you. Salary largely depends on your area of speciality and what sort of firm you are working for. The salary of a Financial consultant for instance differs from that of an Auditor. My advice to fresh graduates has always been apply for Accounting Assistant roles first. Once you are settled into your new job( can take anywhere between 6-12 months), you can then start looking into getting ACCA/CIMA qualified. By the time you are done, with the wealth of experience you would/should have acquired, you are basically "Hot Cake". I know folks raking it in in the UAE currently. Also lest I forget, if you intend on starting your own Accounting Firm sometime in the future, ACCA is the way to go. |
LagosismyHome:Good points well made eventhough I don't fully agree with it. I think the lackadaisical approach to Life is all well and good if it's Just Adults involved. It's when It involves Kids I take exception. Kids do not get to choose the Family they are born into and we all Know the Family you are born into goes a long away in determining how well you do in Life. LagosismyHome:I believe a solid work ethic, good attitude, integrity and seeking self improvement should be encouraged in every society. Infact I do not know any upward mobile society that does not encourage it. Heck the example you gave of some Nigerian Women choosing to be full time housewives instead of entering the rather saturated Labour market shows ambition albeit a shallow one. Why you say? Because they intend on marrying Rich Ready Made Men or Social Upward Moving Men not the dregs of the society. I doubt they are many people content claiming benefits for years. How can they be content when the majority of them live from hand to mouth daily(unless they are involved in Benefit Fraud) whilst making up the vast Majority of the Permanent Underclass? That's not contentment, that's called "Having no other Choice". |
Ace2013:ACCA or CIMA. ACCCA for Financial or CIMA for Management |
airmark:Rudiger ke? I said Chris not Rudiger. The Romans would happily accept their boy back. |
Ibime:Chris and Bats should not a problem if as it looks you Guys are willing to let them leave. Jorginho is the problem as I reckon they'll be a few teams vying for His signature. |
Unlimited22:Ehn ehn no be only sell why not thief? Players like Romagnoli,Hernandez,Hakan, Donnarumma plus one or two others are completely off limits at this precise moment. Our RB position is severely lacking though so why not sell us Reece? |
LagosismyHome:That shows a total lack of ambition on the Part of the said individual. How someone would see working Dead end jobs or simply just collecting Benefits as something to aspire to beats me. Heck I know 2 people who through perserverance were working good jobs before their stay was legalized. The depressing part of this Character flaw however is that most often than not, they pass it on to their kids. |
airmark:I'd definitely take Jorginho without even giving it a second thought. His game suits Serie A down to the tee. He'd absolutely thrive here. I also won't mind both Chris and Bats at the right price. We are in dire need in both of those areas and see those players helping not hindering our squad depth. Chris most especially. |
