donjazet:Playing the Devil's advocate here as like you I don't know the full story. Lamar might have had previous convictions(incredibly Long rap sheets) whilst this might have been Chase's first conviction hence the leniency shown. |
Roland17:It's also Here in the UK too. No one wants to hear let alone acknowledge any different view point. It's either their way or the Highway nothing inbetween. I'll use myself as an example. There is always a Faux outrage amongst Family and friends whenever they hear I have actually voted Conservatives twice or so eventhough many of them actually do hold quite strong conservative views. It really pisses me off I am tbh. As long as We continue to shy away from dialogue, we will continue to do more Harm than good. For example you'll find many of these recent Far Right Republican converts have taken this stance for exactly this reason. They've simply just said f$%k it since any attempt at any form of dialogue is immiediately met with resistance and shut down completely. No Republican does not automatically mean Racist neither does being a Democrat make you a tree shagging Anti capitalist. |
Kopfschmerzens:We all can moan about it from now to thy kingdome come and nothing will change. Heck if the KKK were to change their rules today and start letting in people of colour, you best bet you'd have a number of Black people queueing up to join. She plays off the outrage people have to Her totally different of view and as long as it continues to gather Her publicity, She is not changing anytime soon. |
Kopfschmerzens:This actually had me giggling. I follow quite a lot of Far Right Black Republicans(oxymoron I know) because of two reasons. One I love to hear different points of views totally different from mine and two If I am being totally honest, they do make Good points from time to time. The Likes of Candace Owens,Errol Webber,Larry Elder are some of my personal favourites. I have come to find that If you are able to detach emotions and sentiments and willing to take onboard the few Good points they make, you'll be alright. Let's use Candance as an example. Why would anyone go all emotional over someone that A) Says She has never been a Victim of Racism yet Her parents sued the Stamford Education Board for pretty much just that B)Says Hitler was just a Nationalist not a Racist. She knows exactly what She is doing and I really can't knock Her hustle. She has not only made a name for Herself, She has also done quite well of it too. |
larride:Water off a duck's back as far as Bojo is concerned. The air of superiority He has about Him comes from His Privileged Public School upbringing. |
afrodoc:I make you right on that. Just had a brief look at who is at the helm of leaderahip and to be frank nothing inspires me there. The brightest thing they've done so far is come up with such a catchy name. |
Ibime: afrodoc:Absolutely Ridiculous isn't it? The BLM movement's Leadership needs to distance themselves far away from these sets of Lousy yobs. Ibime:E Be like say you be mind reader |
afrodoc:They are now calling for the Removal of Gandhi's statue. Hindu Residents in Leceister are forming a Human Chain with Ribbons to protect His statue. They'll be heading for the Palace next by the looks of things. |
Ibime:Hahajajajajajahahahajajaja..... ![]() This Hunter became the Hunted ![]() |
Ibime:As soon I heard the "Churchill was a Nazi Sympathizer" Mantra starting to come to fore, I knew it was a matter of time before it all descended into chaos. Whilst you might not agree with some of His Views, you have respect the fact that He is much loved in the country. Wasn't He voted Top 2 Briton of all Time? Ibime:I have been saying this for years. The Far left are almost as bad as the Far right imo. The only difference being with the Far right you know what you are getting. They don't sugarcoat things. Racist and proud is their motto so you learn to stay as far away as possible. The Far left on the hand tend to hide under the guise of "Woke Social Justice warrior". Any view that does not align with theirs does not matter and is immediately shouted down. How do you expect to win people to your side with that sort of attitude? In fact much to the chagrin of some of my friends and family members, I have actually voted Tory on 2 or so occasions. I don't just follow one party blindly. I judge each candidate on their merits. Ibime:I happen to think the BLM thingy is a good cause. It has simply been infiltrated by people who could give two f£€ks about the rationale behind the BLM movement. As you have rightly noted, some of them are "Career Protesters". Any and everything goes as far as they are concerned. |
Ibime:EDL members are currently running amok at Parliament square under the ruse of " Trying to protect the Statue of Churchill". Can't say I did not see it coming tbh as anything that has to do with Churchill always stirs up some kind of emotions here. |
Leyqute:LOOOL....It was symbolic methinks. |
Good Gawd Lawd have mercy. Kente clothing you know.
|
Black Conservatives on Twitter are saying they have never been oppressed. They are sick and tired of being made to be seen as victims. You love to see it! |
A40:I'm with you here as this is a Clear case of Police Brutality. Once they had Him down with His hands clearly behind His back, that should have been the end of it. What came after was unnecessary and it was simply a Show of Strength from the officers. If He is indeed a Gang Banger, He gets Zero sympathies from Me. I'd rather chanel my energy into protecting(and protesting against assaults of) decent Law abiding Citizens than Criminals. That's the reason why I would not have been caught anywhere near the London Protest/Riots that took place a few years back. |
afrodoc2:It's been peaceful so far and long may that continue. Anyone caught either looting or inciting any form of Violence should be seriously dealth with. No need for that here. Might even join in in the Peaceful protests later on in the week. |
afrodoc2:Yup!....A mini one at Peckham yesterday and a Larger one at Trafalgar Square today. We are showing solidarity with our neighbours right over the pond. There is an ongoing protest in Berlin too. |
Ibime: nihilistjnr:Feels me with rage honestly. I saw firsthand the havoc these despicable act can wreck in the community and trust me when I say it's not nice. |
donjazet:The issue I have with the more aggressive approach is the way Criminal elements of the society often hijacks it . For example what issues has looting of small businesses(in their community) ever solved? |
donjazet:Racism in the Uk is rather more convert than overt even at that it's nowhere as bad it is Stateside. My own personal experience has been that of the subtle kind ie Crossing the road when they see I and my group of Black/Asian mates coming from afar though looking back at it now, it might have been because of the way we were dressed. That of my Parents was an entirely different case altogether I must admit. They came in the 70s(I think Dad came in the Late 60s sef)so as you can Imagine they were thrown in right in the deep end when racism was truly rife. It Still did not stop them from making progress in their respective careers even though that said progress was not as forthcoming as it should have been. Their experience I think made them ever more aspirational for their Kids. The Secondary School I attended for instance was quite mediocre to say the lest but my Parents made sure I towed the right path. I look back now and I am ever so grateful for being born into the right Household. |
raumdeuter:Munich fans are probably the only set of fans that can fully empathize with us as you guys have had the same fate befall you not once but twice. Fairplay to your lot with the way you've been able to handle two heartbreaking defeats. Back to match itself as I said in my post, apart from the 15 minute period early in second half where we suffered a severe lapse in concentration, we absolutely dominated that match. The Liverpool faithfuls would have had no qualms had We gone in 5 Nil up at half time. We were that dominant. The gods simply weren't on our side that day. Dudek's incredible double save was just the clincher as I knew hand on heart we would not win the Shootout. The Lads were so emotionally and physically drained even reliable penalty takers were missing their spot kicks. This leads me to 2012. I see a striking resemblance to the events that unfolded in Munich 7 years later with one exception. You Guys were evern more dominant. I watched that game with my German mate Jens and we both sat in disbelief after Drogba secured victory. It still comes up everytime we link up but I suppose bouncing back immediately dappens the blow a bit. Euro 2000 is second on my list. 2005 ranks higher because deep down you knew France were still in it with only a goal advantage. Also Had Buffon not gotten Himself injured on the eve of the tournament, We would have won it. No way was Wiltord's lame attempt slipping under Gigi as it did with Toldo. |
patrickmuf:LOOOL Bro I feel your pain. Non Milanistas simply don't get it. It's also why I simply can not fully support any other club apart from Milan. The emotional connection and investment is simply not there. The Highest of High and Lowest of Low I have been through it all with this club and to be frank with you, I won't have it any other way. |
Roland17:LOOOL Bro I don't blame you one bit. It's certainly not an easy loss to stomach. Had we lost the Athens Finals in 07, I was ready to hop on the next flight to Milan. It's far and away my number 1. Nothing comes close. Forza Milan |
At this very moment 15 years ago, I was struggling to sleep. The events that unfolded over the previous 3- 4 hours had left me all but numb. I was fuming, bitter, Angry and frustrated. Every and Any negative emotion you can think of, that was pretty much Me. I vividly remember trying to get some sleep as I had my Maths mocks the following day but sleep was not forthcoming. There were 3 or so Topics I was meant to briefly go over but I simply could not concentrate. I mean how could I after what I had just seen? 3 up goals looking like we've reached the promise land only to have it taken from in the most cruelest of fashion. Snapping defeat from the jaws of victory. To say I was devastated would be putting it likely. Til this Day, I still can not or should I say simply refuse to forgive Carlo for that evening's event and that is saying a lot as Ancelloti is my favourite coach of all time. How He and the Boyz managed to throw away a 3 goal lead, I'll never know. I am still fuming Every channel in the Land it seemed had documentaries dedicated to the Miracle of Istanbul so I had no other choice but to avoid all forms of Media for the 2 weeks that followed. No TV, no radio,no Newspaper bulletins. Heck no phone calls or text messages too. I completely shut myself off from the outside world. I am yet the watch the game in it's entirety to this day infact it took me years to summon the courage to watch extended highlights of the game. How we lost, I'd never know. Apart from the 15 minute period where Liverpool staged their amazing comeback, we were the dominant team. We should won it during normal time and moreso in extra time. The gods it seems were against us. I prayed and hoped in vain i'd wake up the following morning and it would have been just a dream. It wasn't, it was real. I woke up the next morning feeling even more bitter than I remembered feeling the previous night. I guess the magnitude of the event that took place the previous day was starting to sink in. The Lads had done the unthinkable and thrown away a nailed on Trophy. It was simply put a ChokeJob Mere talking about it still stirs a lot of emotions in me even till this day. The phrase "Time is a healer" is only just starting to ring true in my case. I simply could not get over it for a very long time. I am still not fully there but I am slowly but surely getting there. Wednesday the 25th of May 2005 is a day I will never forget.

ibkayee: ![]() ibkayee:It is. Did not stop me from getting a lot of stick from mates though. The Peep Show is so cringeworthy is untrue. It's much Funnier than it looks. Kind of reminds me of another favourite show of mine The IT Crowd. British Humour can't be beaten. Both unrivalled and unparalleled ![]() Fun Fact : Robert Webb absolutely loves Only Fools and horses. One of the inspirations behind The Peep Show. |
lekki1444: ![]() You sound proper Geordie. I'm guessing you schooled in the Tyneside/Gateshead region. |
ibkayee:Not even just the accent though. Apart from my much deeper voice, Yours is not that different from mine(when I'm not speaking to close friends that is). Del boy and Rodney looool. I really love British Tv most especially sitcoms. My humour is unapologetically British and I'm proud of it too. BBC's My Family was a favourite of mine for years and so was Gavin and Stacey. |
lekki1444:IBK was raised in one of the richest London boroughs. She does not relate with we Commoners. |
ibkayee:I know you are a bit posh but yh still surprised. As an ardent follower of British Comedy, I am certain you would have heard of it a number of times. It comes up quite frequently on other TV Programmes too. |
ibkayee:I am actually surprised you have never heard of the word "Blighty" or the phrase "Good Ol' Blighty: |
airmark:If you are willing to cover all of my Travel expenses, I will gladly make the trip once Corona is over. |
airmark:4 or 10 it makes no difference tbh. |
