Selorm Galley, evicted Ghanaian female representative in Big Brother The Chase has remorsefully asked for forgiveness from boyfriend, Praye Tietia on live TV after her seemingly unpleasant experience in the Africa TV Show.

Making a surprise guest appearance on The Late Nite Celebrity Show, Selly, as she is affectionately called pleaded for forgiveness from the hip-life artiste, a member of the duo, Praye, after her name was dragged in the mud for her supposedly sexual escapade with Tanzanian house mate, Nando.

'I am very thankful for the opportunity given me. I want to thank my boyfriend, Praye Tietia and also use this opportunity to say I am very sorry (for all that happened),' she said. 'I am very sorry,' she insisted.

The Ghanaian representative came under a lot of bashing from outside the house when she was caught on camera supposedly having sex with Tanzania housemate, Nando. Though she has denied that there was any sexual intercourse with her male counterpart, the Tanzanian has insisted otherwise saying he contracted an STD from Selly.

Nando in a conversation with fellow housemate, Bimp disclosed that Selly gave him chlamydia, a Sexually Transmitted Disease, after the incident.

When host, Laila Abubakari asked her about the possible winner of the show, she did not hesitate to mention Ghanaian housemate, Elikem, as her hopeful winner. Before making the proclamation, Elikem was up for possible eviction from the house the Sunday after Selly was confident he will stay in the house till the final day of the show.

Selly was evicted from the Big Brother The Chase house a week ago after getting less votes. Running for a three month period, Big Brother Africa has got many glued to their television sets as they watch to vote for the best housemate who relates better and is able to play the human related game best until the last day.

The young man in the ditch is a thief, who was caught this morning in Shell road, Sapele, Delta state.
According to an eyewitness, the thief (name unknown) had snatched a woman’s handbag in another part of town, Ugbeyi Sapele and sped off on his motorcycle.
The poor woman couldn’t raise an alarm, but fortunately a soldier who saw her bag get snatched quickly borrowed someone’s Hilux and gave the thief a hot chase. Somehow, the thief got away.

But not for too long. Cos nemesis caught up with the thief when he got to Shell road. Some young men noticed the motorcyclist was holding an handbag but was without a passenger. When the thief was approached, he sped off. But unknown to him, where he rode to was a dead-end.

The youth chased him into the bush, caught him, battered him, and threw him into a pit, waiting for the police to arrive.

Some members of a vigilante group came to take the thief away, but onlookers refused and told them they were waiting for the police to come and carry him.

Finally the police came and what they could say was “we can’t carry him the way he is” and they went away.

Then somebody took a motorcycle and went to call the army. When the soldiers came, one of them said this was the guy I chased this morning with someone’s Hilux but I didn’t know where he diverted to with his motorcycle cos I wasn’t familiar with the route.
The soldiers ordered for him to be put into the trunk of their car. While doing that, a girl shouted “he is my brother” repeatedly.
The soldier dashed off to her, flogged her with the fan-belt he was holding, kicked her feet off the ground and beat her till she took off.

Onlookers chased her, caught her and handed her to the soldiers that she might be a spy. The soldiers drove off with the owner of the bag (someone called her on phone while she was in another area), the thief in the trunk of the car and the girl on a motorcycle with some youth

President Goodluck Jonathan has inaugurated the Governing Board of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), with a charge to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure a fruitful partnership with the private sector to address infrastructural deficit.

The President, who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo, said “as a nation, we must in every respect, manifest our capability for the practical transformation of our country, through mutually beneficial partnerships. MDAs must now show a greater commitment to creative productive and fruitful partnerships with the private sector.”

He tasked the board under the chairmanship of former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, to build on the achievements of the pioneer board, headed by former head of the Interim National Government, Ernest Shonekan.

President Jonathan further urged them to accelerate the delivery of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects, particularly the 19 recently identified by the commission, which included the construction of the 2nd Niger Bridge, the development of deep sea ports and concession of the railway lines, stressing the need to “achieve seamless financial closure as soon as possible”,

Mr. Jonathan added that “That is what the people expect and this is what the Government must deliver.”

He said the ICRC has a leading role to play in driving the PPP programme, noting that, “We have no doubt that members of the Governing Board will pursue this mandate with commitment and patriotism to achieve prompt success.”

He commended the pioneer board for ensuring that the Commission was placed on solid footing by drafting the National Policy on PPP approved by the Federal Executive Council, and also for winning laurels for the country, saying, “It is also gratifying to recall that Nigeria, 2010, won the Africa Investor Award in South Africa and the 2010 Public Private Partnership Award of the Commonwealth Business Council, both bestowed on Nigeria in recognition of our quick and articulated progress.”

The ceremony was held at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Nnamani observed that the relevance of the Commission to addressing the infrastructural deficit in the country could not be over emphasised. He pledged on behalf of other members of the board that they would not let the country down.

Other members of the reconstituted board of ICRC are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim; Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke; Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; and Governor of the Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi.

Other members were drawn from the six geo-political zones of the country. They include Comfort Saro Wiwa (South-South); Janet Fabisola Adeyemi (South-West); Yabawa Wabi (North-East); Musa Elayo (North-Central), A.U. Kanu (South-East) and Director General of ICRC, Aminu Dikko (North-West).

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Finance, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Minister of Justice, and the Governor of the Central Bank are all ex-officio members

“We are here to remind the world that Zimbabwe is not yet free,’’ said Butholezwe Nyathi, one of the trio who wrapped a thick silver chain around their necks at the base of the 2.7 million rand high bronze statue in Johannesburg’s Mandela Square.

A group of supporters, bemused tourists and passers-by watched the brief protest, which ended when security guards at the square in the shopping complex asked them to leave.

Nyathi said Mandela, who stepped down in 1999 after serving one term as Africa’s first black president following the end of apartheid five years earlier, represented freedom for Africans. Mandela, 95, is critically ill in a Pretoria hospital.

The protesters contrasted South Africa under Mandela with Zimbabwe, where 89-year-old President Robert Mugabe is seeking to extend his 33 years in power as Africa’s oldest leader in an election on Wednesday clouded by opposition allegations of intimidation and vote rigging “Why can’t Zimbabweans get this change that happened in South Africa?” asked Lina Ngwenya, a South African supporting the protesting Zimbabwean exiles.

Many fear that a close contest between Mugabe’s ZANU-PF party and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change could re-ignite the kind of political violence that marred a 2008 vote and led to the formation of an uneasy unity government in Harare.

Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Governor of Kano state, visited the Sabon Gari area which was bombed by Boko Haram last night.

The bombings were described as an "attack against Nigeria" by the Governor, who urged the residents of Kano to assist the Government and security agencies in providing valuable information regarding terrorist activities, and also to continue to be vigilant.

Kwankwaso paid a visit to those injured in the blasts who are recuperating in hospitals.
