Thank you for your
postgraduate application,
and sorry for the delay
We have received an exceptional number of applications this year. So please bear with us as we review each one as fast as we can.

Track your progress here >

Dear idaytesj29,

Thank you for applying to study MA Criminal Justice and Crime Control at the University of Hull.

And thank you, also, for your understanding. We know how long you have been waiting already, and we greatly appreciate your continued patience as you await the outcome of your application.

We have had exceptional interest in our postgraduate programmes this year, and are working through the applications as we speak. So please bear with us as we review each one as quickly as we possibly can.

You should hear back from us within 5 to 6 weeks. In some cases, we have to make extra checks – such as on your work experience – which may delay your application.

We appreciate this may be longer than you expected, and we are sorry for any inconvenience or uncertainty this may have caused you. Because the University of Hull is an incredibly popular choice this year, it is taking a little extra time to work through the high volume of applications received.

But please rest assured that as soon as we have reviewed your application and made a decision, we will be in touch with you. In the meantime, please read on to find out what you need to do next. We hope the information below gives you a little extra peace of mind.

What does this mail actually means? Especially the work experience part. Should I forget about the admission and pursue other schools?

I have been a bit restless since I got the mail.

Gurus in the house, should I still be expecting my admission?

University of Hull have been rejecting lots of application this year because of huge number of applicants interested in studying there because of their reduced tuition fees.

I will strongly recommend you make other applications to avoid story that may puncture the heart

Hello house!

I'd like to find out if there is anyone who has successfully collected a loan from Future Finance? My school and course are approved by them, I am just not yet a resident as I have not yet gotten my UK Visa.

I want to know if they are a viable option after I arrive in the UK.

Do not depend on them. They are most likely to frustrate you with demands of various documentation and still end up not providing you with funds.

No cosigner loans are usually impossible to get especially for international students in the UK because of the outrageous interest rate. Before you are able to pay up...your visa might have already expired

Please has anyone here used bank statement from another country to apply in another for a UK visa.. just hearing no available dates for TB in Nigeria omg I AM CONFUSED ‍♂️. Do I really need to do the TB test since I will be coming back just to applying.. I will not even stay up to 6months according to the site.. please if anyone have experience on this area please please help me out here

I stand to be corrected!

If you are currently and legally resident in Dubai.... I honestly don't see a reason why you can't apply for a student visa with a Dubai bank statement in your name.
As for the TB....you won't be needing the test if you are going to apply from Dubai.

Please just upload documents that proves that you are legally resident in Dubai and you will be fine.

I have already booked my flight for Nigeria will apply from Nigeria. Please my only confusion now is do I have to go for a TB I saw on the site if you are 6months less in a country that requires TB and if you are 6 months more in a country that does requires

The interpretation of the 6months ish is actually tricky... I would strongly advice you do the TB test if you have the money and do get an available date; however, you can also apply for your visa without the TB screening, if you are sure Dubai is exempted from TB screening. GOOD LUCK DEAR

Good evening everyone. I applied for a Tier 2 Visa and did Biometrics on the 23rd of June. Can anyone help me with the current timeline Visa is taking at the moment?
I was under the impression that Tier 2 Health and Care visa takes a shorter time than usual and this is already 10 working days.

Most times decision on health and care visa is dependent on the start date stated on your certificate of sponsorship.
10 working days is awfully long for a health and care visa, however be rest assured that the success rate for this category of visa is averagely 99.23%. You will definitely get a positive reply in due time

Hello everyone please I am a bit confused and is almost giving me sleepless night. I recently got a conditional offer which is now an unconditional but my confusion is I am currently living and working in Dubai and I intend to apply for my visa from here but my PoF will be from my Nigeria account STERLING BANK please do anyone know if one can show a PoF fund from an account in a different country I have tired reaching the UK embassy here all to no avail.

2. My intended school is Aston University if I make the deposit which I plan on doing in a few days time when will I most likely get my CAS and please I don't mind connecting with anyone going to Aston or already in Aston University..
Please gurus in the house help me here.. thanks

I believe you can provide POF from your Sterling bank as long as it bears your name, have the required funds and does not contain any fraudulent information. They are most likely to investigate the account; meanwhile, I think its advisable to include any document that shows you are LEGALLY residing in Dubai and not a fugitive or illegal immigrant

Good morning everyone,
I have an IOM booking for August 18th but it's too far. I have called their contact lines and they said I should send an email as to why I need a closer date. But it seems like these guys don't reply their emails cos I have sent a lot.

I'm presently in Enugu and thinking of traveling to Lagos by the weekend so that I can go there myself and sort things out. What do you advice?

If they have asked you to send an email, please do as they see your emails and choose to reply relevant ones. So give them a tangible reason why you want a closer date. If your reason is genuine and reasonable, they will give you a closer date

US official correspondences hardly begins with the above quote from the invitation. That writing above is Nigerian.

Nigerians will write and say, 'I hope and pray that this my mail meets you well'. If you are conversant with Nigerians style of writing, the above is a typical starting way. Oyibo hardly writes this way or ask you how was your night, weekend or family. They go straight to the point. They don't "pray that their mail finds you in good health or state of mind". grin

Thats not true....I receive lots of emails with "hope this email finds you well" and I also use it officially as well in my emails. But its usually for people you have had a previous conversation with

Exactly, most generic emails I have received usually starts with just "Hello". Although "hope this email finds you in good health" is a term usually used in the UK

Most conference invitation won't go on and on about visa processing in their emails. The architect of this email spent a better part of the email hammering on how you will get your visa- if this were one of those English essay exams where one is required to give a suitable name to your email... I will name it "getting a US visa"

On a serious note, no conference organizer will process your visa application anywhere in the world and also make paper presentation a must. Don't be surprised they will ask for a fee when you complain you can't write the so called paper. Besides all international conferences are on hold worldwide!!!

All legitimate conference in the USA can be found online by googling it...oga don't fall prey to cheap scam

Who ends an official email this days with "yours cheerfully" or even "yours sincerely" in the United States and United Kingdom? It is either the likes of "Kind Regards " or "Warm Regards"

The scammer initially stated an earlier date for the commencement of the conference and changed the date again in the second email.

Finally grammar style of the email suggest that the scammer is from Nigeria.

I found out that Chester University and James Moore Uni. are both good and very close. But I would like to know if it is possible for him to write the PLAB exam in Nigeria

You are asking questions I have already provided the answers to you. I categorically adviced that your cousin return to Nigeria to attempt the OET/IELTS and PLAB 1, whereas the PLAB 2 MUST be done in the UK

Please advice your cousin to utilize the use of Google to find this information because its everywhere online, you can't keep on asking questions on his behalf

@omopapa, what's your counsel to someone who's at the verge of being registered with HCPC? He'll be making payment for the verification any moment from now. His target is to be in the UK from January next year in order to get a job after the registration with IBMS. He's a licenced medical lab scientist with PCR Molecular experience in CoVid19.

Is it advisable I tell him to go for a 1 yr MSC course in order to use this period to land a job with the NHS? If yes, what are the possible courses that could give him a soft landing?
Thank you.

Let him do a masters for the essence of educational advancement. He can get a job from Nigeria with a very strong application and sound knowledge in BMS practice in the UK. Coming to do a MSc in the UK with HCPC is not a guaranty you will get a bms job in the UK; however, if he choose to upgrade himself academically, let him opt for MSc BMS as some of the course modules will further strengthen his knowledge in bms practice in the UK

Yes, I agree with you. Studying Masters (eg. in Public Health) is a great advise. He is ready for d Masters option, while preparing for d PLAB exams. But which UK universities are good or better for medical graduates?

All Universities are good for medical graduates (MG) considering majority of MGs won't be needing the degree after they pass their licensing exams....so let your cousin concentrate on cost of tuition rather than university ranking.. I would recommend Robert Gordon University, Chester University, Glasgow Caledonian University etc

Pls what is PLAB 1? Can he register for PLAB from Ukraine? Does he need to be in Nigeria to register for PLAB especially since d deadline (1st July) is very close? Is the PLAB meant to certify a medical graduate?

I will honestly advice your cousin prepare for PLAB exams as its not easy to pass and besides he will still need to write English proficiency exams as well. I think there is another PLAB 1 exam coming up on the 4th of November.

I will strongly suggest he prepares for the exams before attempting them. PLAB is the medical licencing exam for foreign medical graduates before they can practice in the UK.

There is no need to rush the Exam. If going to Nigeria is not an option; he can register for a MSc program in the UK while he attempts to sit for English proficiency exam and both PLAB 1 and 2 ( this route is hard as he will be faced with coursework and preparing for all exams

Is it possible for him, a medical graduate to proceed to UK

medical certification exams in UK and be certified abroad
and do housemanship over there? Pls I need advise

Your relative cousin will have to go to Nigeria as he will need to sit for IELTS or OET before he can register for PLAB 1 (registration for August will close 1st july) after which he can travel to the UK for PLAB 2 after passing PLAB1. Can't write PLAB 2 without passing PLAB 1 and cant write PLAB 1 without English test

If u like have phD in QMS, LIMS, NEQAS and all sorts, if u are not HCPC registered you CAN NOT work in the uk as a biomedical scientist

If you like get registered with HCPC, if you don't know your basics in the above listed...you will definitely find it IMPOSSIBLE to get a job from Nigeria. I have gone through lots of bms job applications from nigeria and also resided over a couple of interviews in my Trust and I must confess that most HCPC registrants in Nigeria lack basic knowledge in aspects of QMS such as risk assessment, CAPA, resolving quality control failure, use and interpretation of LJ charts etc..

Please dont misunderstand me, I am only stressing that getting the HCPC registration is totally different from getting a bms role in the UK as I have lot of connections on LinkedIn testifying that they have been registered since 2018 and haven't been invited for interview talk more of getting an offer after interview. And be corrected that I know couple of guys in the UK who started working as bms trainees (band 5) without HCPC as they were placed on AFC at 75% of the highest band pending when the get their registration portfolio (thats another arguement shaa)

My sincere advice is to get connections on LinkedIn with bms practicing in the UK and get to know how their system works. Don't just get HCPC registered and think you are entitled to a job in the UK and when you don't get one....you conclude its not possible to gst a Job in the UK unless you spend money travelling to the UK for a masters because, even after your masters, if you don't know the above listed you will NEVER get a Job even with your IBMS and HCPC registration (except you get lucky and get a band 5 role which is highly unlikely because you will be competing with uk newly graduated bms already working in band 4 role within the UK)

The HCPC registration is the ticket to land a job as a biomedical scientist in the UK so yeah they shld go ahead to make the payment.

Coming to the UK to study will give them better chance at applying for jobs even tho they can apply from Nigeria when registered. Also most of the courses available for them will require their physical presence in the UK

Getting HCPC registered is not a guarantee you will land a job as a biomedical scientist either in or outside the UK.

For you to be successful in getting a Biomedical scientist job, you need to be exceprionally good with QMS and value based questions..this you can learn through networking via platforms such as LinkedIn
